Unit 9 What does he look like ?

Section B (3a—3b)

Good morning everyone !

I’m very glad to in troduce my lesson here today.The lesson plan I'm going to talk about is from Book I Unit 9 What does he look like ?—Section B (3a—3b) . This is a new lesson that students haven’t learned before . The teaching project is: Describe people’s looks . and write a passage about one’s look. .My understanding of teaching materials include three parts : First, I'll show some pictures to help students learn the new words and language .Make students try to describe people with them.Second, mainly grasp how to describe people’s looks from two st, teach students how to write a passage to describe his or her best friend.

In this class students learn to describe people . and the main content of this lesson are some description sentences .

●The ability aim is to describe and write out people’s looks .

●As a new lesson I’ll use different kinds of methods to

encourage the students to practice . Make them describe various people and be interested in my class .

There are steps in the lesson . Here are the steps .

Step I Revision

Show some pictures of people or other thing to revise

description words and phrases.

Like : beautiful /handsome /curly hair/ medium build and so on . Here are the pictures :

Step II presentation

First , I‘ll use some pictures to teach new words : Show some famous stars’ photos to teach new words . such as Yao Ming . He is tall . He has short hair . Here I’ll introduce the new language : What does he look like ? He is _______ . He has ________ .

Step III Practice

In this part ,l’ll ask a boy and a girl to come to the front.Then students describe them so that they can write the composition corretly.

Step IV Writing

Describe Bill’s new fr iend . Fill in the blanks with the words in box Finish 3a and with the help of questions and the description phrases,let students finish the passage about his or her best friend in 3b.

Step V Showing

Show the students’compositions on the screen to make them learn from each other.

Step VI Homework .

Write a passage about a net friend.

I think using the target teaching method and the change of pictures and the competition may arise students interest . Each student can attend the teaching steps ,and try to describe various people .Improve their abilities .
