Lesson 11 Lily learns about China一.概述本单元主要是围绕谈论时间和喜爱的学科来展开话题,通过本单元的学习,使学生了解时间的表达方法和学科的学习方法的相关情况,乐于接触并了解异国文化。

本科是单元的第五课,通过Lily介绍自己喜欢的social studies 引入本段话题favourite subject,同时带入Mother’Day and Father’s Day 这两个西方节日。

二.教学目标1.知识与技能(1)掌握词汇及短语:recently, tourist, southern(2)了解西方节日Mother’ Day and Father’s Day。

(3)现在完成时的使用。

2.过程与方法(1)能够通过师生说、生生说和自主听读体验交际式英语教学的一般过程,掌握英语说听的基本方法;(2)能够通过阅读练习,体验英语阅读的过程和方法;(3)能够仔细倾听老师和同学的发言,有语言表达和与同学交流的愿望。

2学情分析现在初二的学生对英语的学习应该具有一定的基础和方法,但对于英语的学习还没有掌握好的方法,学生在学习中还存在很多问题。

这两班的学生已有一定的英语的基础,但还不能在英语学习中灵活运用,所以课堂中老师应尽可能多的运用多种教学方法来引导学生学习。

【教材分析】
本课属于冀教版《英语》八年级上册Unit 2 My Favorite School Subject,本单元以school subjects 为话题,延伸出学校生活中的学科相关的许多细节,如谈论学习的时间,谈论学科的偏好等等。

本课是这一单元的第五课时Lesson 11 Lily Learns about China,是一篇阅读课文。

本课以一位加拿大学生的口吻,讲述了自己最喜欢的学校科目social studies,并对在这一学科中的学习过程和收获进行了介绍。

学生通过学习本课,掌握一些谈论最喜爱的学科的思路和方法。

一、设计思路
1.指导思想:
《中小学英语课程标准》指出:英语教学中应体现交际性,要结合学生的年龄特点和生活实际,创设交际情景,通过大量的语言实践,使学生获得综合运用英语和语言技能进行交际的能力。

针对初中英语新教材容量大的特点,为了使教学面向全体学生,依据本课的课程理念,采用自主阅读为主,课堂小组合作为辅的学习模式,充分发挥学生学习的主观能动性。

2.教学目标
语言知识目标:掌握词汇recently, southern, tourist
语言技能目标:让学生了解并介绍自己最喜爱的学科。

情感目标:鼓励学生热爱校园生活,享受校园生活
3.教学重点与难点
教学重点:
(1)掌握一些与介绍学科有关的词汇与表达
(2)激发学生兴趣,让学生学会介绍自己最喜欢的学科。

教学难点:
掌握介绍最喜爱的学科的思路与方法

Powerpoint 制作的课件,图片等;课文录音
三、教学过程
Step 1 Pre-reading
Activity 1:
Guessing game: What subject is it?
●Choose one student to act out some typical action in front of the class and the
other student try to guess what subject it is.
●Show some pictures about different subjects and ask students guess what they are.
●Show the words of different subject on the flash card.
设计意图:1. 激活学生关于科目的基本知识;
2. 游戏导入,活跃课堂气氛,激发学生对于科目相关话题的兴趣。

呈现方式:ppt
Activity 2: Free talk
●What is your favourite subject? Why do you like it best?...
设计意图:激活学生关于谈论最喜欢的学科已有的语言储备,导入新课。

Step 2 While-reading
Activity 3: Scanning
●Students scan the lesson and finish the exercises:
●Help students understand the difficult words in the lesson.
呈现方式:ppt,音频
设计意图:指导学生通过速读课文,完成指定题目来梳理文中基本信息,初步感知语篇,掌握文章大意。

在一读后,对影响学生理解文本的重点词汇进行提示和教授,为下一步的细读扫清障碍。

Activity 4: Skimming
●Students read the lesson and answer the questions:
●Help students find out the frame of the lesson according to the answers in the
slide. And show the frame on the blackboard.
呈现方式:PPT,电子白板
设计意图:指导学生在特定问题的引导下对文章进行细读,收集文章细节信息,理解全文。

同时帮助学生根据细节信息梳理文章框架,从而为下一步的语言输出(写作)做好知识与方法的铺垫。

Activity 5: Retelling
●Students retell the lesson with the help of the frame on the blackboard and the key
words in the slide.
设计意图:让学生结合板书上的课文框架与课件中的课文关键词对文章进行复述,从而对所学内容从语篇结构认知到语言知识点的掌握进行有机的练习。

Step 3 Post-reading
Activity 6: Group work
●Ask students work in groups to talk about their favourite subjects. Then, try to
write a short passage about their own favourite subjects. They can finish their discussion and writing with the given tips in the slide.
呈现方式:PPT
设计意图:学生以小组形式讨论自己喜欢的学科,互相交流看法,获得更多语言材料。

而后依照本课学到的框架以及提示,完成关于自己最喜欢的学科的写作,对本课所学内容进行输出。

Activity 7: Presenting
Students present their writing in front of the class.
设计意图:学生展示自己的写作,分享自己最喜欢的学科,使学生所学达到所用的目的。

Step 4 Summary
Make a summary of this lesson and encourage students to enjoy their school life and never stop learning.
呈现方式:PPT
设计意图:对本节课从语篇和情感上进行总结,鼓励学生享受学校生活并且永远不要停止学习。

Step 5: Homework
Ask students to polish their writing about their favourite subject.。
