1篇文章搞定英语代词

小美人鱼 Little Mermaid

人称代词的主格与宾格

Hello, I am Alice. You can sometimes see me in the sea. I have five sisters. We have fish’s tails instead of legs. You would probably call us mermaids.

You may have heard stories about us. But most of them are not true. Today, I’d like to tell you a true story about me.

My father is the king of the sea. The queen, my mother, died soon after I was born. He never married again. My grandmother helped him to care for our large family. She lovers us very much, and we love her, too.

We lived in my father’s palace. It is beautiful and grand. Many solders guard it day and night. They are all proud of their work. Everybody in the sea respects them.

In front of the palace is a large garden of flowers. They are brilliant like the burning sun.

形容词性物主代词

My father like the flowers. But he seldom comes to the garden. He is always busy with the state affairs of our kingdom.

“Do not ask what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country,” he always says to his citizens. My grandmother belives in these words. She tries to set a good example for her guards and nurses.

“The kingdom itself, its beauty and power, are put into our hands, so are our happiness of our own.” Most people take these words as their belief.

名词性物主代词

“We love our country, not because of its size, but because it’s ours,” people often say to one another.

However, some people don’t share this belief. The sea witch in our kingdom once said, “Don’t trust those politicians. Our business is so different from theirs. Mine is mine. Yours is yours.” These words are so different from my father’s. I think his are beautiful while hers are ugly. Of course, I know she is an enemy of his.

反身代词的用法

But she has herself to blame for this. I don’t think she understands everybody’s mind better than they themselves know it. Everybody could have his own belief, but he shouldn’t think the most of himself.

指示代词的用法

one, it和that的区别

Last month, I turned fifteen years old. That means I could swim to the surface of the ocean.

“Come along now, let me dress you up like a lady,” said my grandmother when I woke that morning.

“Do you want a pearl?” she asked.

“Yes, I want one.”

“Do you want the red pearl on my crown?”

“Yes, I love it.”

It was a very special gift.

That afternoon, I went to the top of the sea. I saw house and hills for the first time. I could also hear people speaking and singing. I like the scene of the surface better than that of the bottom of the sea.

the one 与 the ones的用法

I think I would rather live in a small house in a city on land than a large one under the sea. I also prefer the flowers on the land, for the ones in the sea have no smell at all.

One的几个特殊用法

Anyway, return to my story. I was just going to return home when I noticed something strike a large ship ad a prince was thrown out into the sea.

“A sailor has to know good luck and bad luck,” I said to myself. I swam quickly to the man and grasped him by the hand. The young man’s right hand was in my left. I was soon out of breath, but I still managed to take the man to the land.

“In the course of one’s life, one may make a real friend is he is lucky.” These were the words I heard when I laid the prince on the beach. I kissed him and then swam to my father’s palace under the sea.

both的用法

From that day on, all I could think of was the prince. More than anything, I wanted to be his bride. In order to win the love of the prince, I want to have a pair of legs to walk with. And I went to a sea witch for help.

“I can help you,” said the witch. “But we both are asking for trouble, perhaps. Your heat will break if he marries someone else. It is very foolish of you!”

“It’s loving and giving that make life worth living. I am willing to take this risk,” I said.

“Both of us are not right,” said the witch.
