According to the book called sun yat-sen's wife written by jung chang and halliday, Soong ching ling is the first political leader's wife in the world who performs the"first lady" duty.

could have lived happily and richly with her family,however,all things changed when she met a sun yat-sen,the founding father of China. Song was attracted by sun's spirit and ultimately married him without any blessing of her parents,abanded the whole family of Soong.
What is Liyuan style? Peng Liyuan exhibited graceful demeanor （举 止）, a pleasant personality and well-chosen dress, prompt ing people to coin the term "Liyuan style" (Liyuan fen g).
She was born in 1893, and grew up in a wealthy family in Shang Hai.
Graduated from a women's university named Wesleyan College in macon,she received a bachelor of arts degree in the summer of 1913.
In 1956,Soong made a sp eech in 8th Party Congr-e ss of China. In 1959,she was elected a s the vice-chairman of the Peopl's Republic of China .
From 1975 to 1978， Soong was elected as a vice-Chairman of the committee of the National People’s Congress. In 1980,she became an executive chairmen of the 3rd committee of the National People’s Congress.

In 1932,she organized Chinese League for civil rights with Lu Xun, Cai Yuanpei, Yang Quan,etc, and took the temporary chair of the national executive. In 1938,she launched China Defense League which was committed to medical relief and childwelfare.
