Queenstown offers two pristine原始的 ski fields. Coronet Peak is the local’s choice and offers diverse terrain地形 and a large snowmaking system – plus, it’s only 20 minutes away from central Queenstown. The Remarkables offers three sunny bowls, finger chutes滑道 and three terrain parks. If you’re itching for more, give heli-skiing a go and enjoy the most pristine and isolated孤立的 steeps in the Southern Alps via helicopter直升机.
Queenstown is just as well known as a place for indulgence. The area’s history is intertwined with gold. In 1862, two sheep shearers struck it rich at the edge of the Shotover River. The ensuing gold rush town was named Queenstown because '...it was fit for Queen Victoria'.
