They should try to be a good influence, and behave in the right way.

What is the reason why family members do not eat together anymore? One primary reason why families do not eat together anymore is that their work schedules are different from each other. Young people would prefer to spend more time with their friends so they come home very late at night, while middle-aged parents are busy with their own social engagements.2.情况对比类Should women stay at home or go out to look for jobs?Women deserve as much rights to work as men. Given growing financial burden on an ordinary family and tough competition among job seekers, an extra source of income in the family would definitely mean a lot.3.时间对比类Explain different attitudes towards marriage between people in the past and nowWell, this is also the kind of problem I am going to deal with probably for a couple of years to come. In the past, people, women in particular, generally revolved their life around giving birth and raising children. However people now are no longer seeing marriage and family as their only thing in life. With the availability of a wide range of entertainment parlors, young people prefer to enjoy their carefree life as a single person before they have to take a lot of responsibilities as a married one.4.优缺点论述类What are the advantages of people living in tourist attractions?Well, the advantages for people who live in tourist attractions are pretty evident. For a starter, compared with cities where the pollution is getting unstoppably worse, life at tourist attractions is definitely good for health. Besides, the people there can make loads of money on tourism industry and a number of related industries like serving food in restaurants, selling souvenirs to tourists, among many others.5.方式措施类What should the government do to curb global warming? Our planet is plagued with tons of environmental problems. Among them, global warming proves to be the most pressing environmental issue and frankly speaking, is, as we all can see, threatening every bit of our life. Hence, in my personal opinion, the government should assume primary responsibility to curb global warming and the most viable measure would be to cut it offat the source, which means the government has to come up with ways to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide discharged into the atmosphere. For instance, exhaust gas emitted is held largely accountable for the acceleration of global warming.6. 情景假设类Let’s say you are in charge of selection process of the volunteers for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, what are you really looking in all the candidates?Well, if I were to be in charge of the selection process of prospective volunteers for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, I’d probably be looking for a number of qualities in potential candidates. First, it’d b e necessary if on e could speak multiple languages. It’s understood that volunteers are expected to work with foreigners that may come from all over the world and it would be a big problem if there was a communication breakdown. Second, physical condition is another factor to be taken into consideration. The job requires volunteers to run around in the stadium for, perhaps, 8 hours in a row. Therefore, if one doesn’t have the strength and stamina needed, he or she should be crossed off the list.7影响类How have hi-tech products influenced music?Unlike in the past when people are given the options of either listening to music played on radio stations or forking out a considerable sum of money to purchase tapes, the increasing popularity gained by high-tech products, among teenagers and young adults in particular, has dramatically transformed how the music is received and stored by the public. Quite a number of varieties of high-tech products have been designed to either play or store music, among which portable gadgets like iPod, mp3, mp4 and psp prove especially popular. It’s quite commonplace to see youngster riding the bus or walking in the streets with one earpiece stuck in their ear.>>>狄邦培训2014年暑假班火热报名中!(官网:)<<<。

如何回答雅思口语Part3(考官全英文传授逐字稿)

如何回答雅思口语Part3(考官全英文传授逐字稿)

How to answer part3a preparation technique1.give longer answers (25-30 seconds at least).2.Ideas are not important as long as you are not far from the point.3.Give example or alternative all the time if you are lack of idea.4.Speak the language you r familiar with even if the question is hard, never say.5. Combine some contents, the content you use to answer the question could be quoted.6. Good start, sometimes you get stuck in the beginning, you need have good sentence in the beginning particularly if the question is hard to answer.7. Practice the parts focusing on the skill not the idea.Classify the part3A-comparing past and present questions (compare between children and adult, young people and old people, today and past, manand woman, city and country city...)talk about one 2 ideas for one side then 2 ideas about the other side then give example, you need learn how to compare using comparison structure, for example for one hand...but on the other hand, compared with ...In part 3 of IELTS speaking, you might be asked to compare the past with the present. The examiner will be listening to your use tenses. For example: Are there any differences between the types of people who were seen as celebrities in the past and those who are celebrities nowadays?Yes, I think there have been some big changes in the types of people who become famous. In the past, before the invention of television, I suppose there were very few national or international celebrities; maybe kings and queens, military, political and religious leaders were the only household names. With the advent of TV and radio, performers such as actors and musicians became more well-known. However, we now seem to have a completely new breed of celebrity as a result of 'reality' television programmes; these are people who don't really have any special skills as performers, but who are famous for just being themselves.Another example: comparing the cost of living in city and countryside Firstly, the cost of living in cities is much higher. Housing is much more expensive in cities compared to rural areas; everything costs more. I think life in cities is more difficult. There are more people, so there's more competition for jobs. Life is a lot slower in rural areas, everyone knows each other and there's a sense of community. I don't think rural areas experience the social problemsthat you find in cities, like crime and homelessness.B-yes and no question(do you think we should study English, do you like this or that, ⋯ .etc. You can say yes and explain why then say why not and explain why with example Or you can say it depends then explain both why sometimes yes and why sometimes not then give example,C-benefitsThis questions can be like why do you or people like to do this? question,**how to teach children ....* how can children learn ⋯Such kind of questions could be easily answered by talking about both parts 1-parentsrole at home 2-school and give example about yourself when you were a child* do u think children should learn something,*Do you think Children should do something ( watch tv, watch ads, do sports, learn foreign languages ⋯ etc?Such questions could be answered by saying it depends sometimes yes and sometimesnot then you will explain when or why yes and when or why not and give example aboutyourself when you were a child :::::::::::G-Give an opinion. questionIn my opinion cities need to be well-planned. Good public transport can definitely makelife easier because there are so many people and it can be really stressful just to movearound. Public areas like parks are also important because people need space to relax, and I think cities should be made into healthier places to live and work.H-Imagining question:I imagine cities will be less polluted because we'll have electriccars and better public transport. More people might work from home so maybe citieswon't be so busy. But I think there will probably still be problems because more andmore people are migrating to cities. So I'm not so optimistic about issues like crime, homelessness and unemployment.questions about the futureMany students worry too much about grammar. For speaking parts 2 and 3, it's moreimportant to worry about the quality of your answers. The best way to improve thequality of your answers is by adding detail.Example:Describe your best friend. Say when you met him/her.Short answer about when we met:I met my best friend at school when I was 11 years old.Detailed answer about when we met:I met my best friend at school when I was 11 years old, so we've known each other for ...years. I remember we sat next to each other in my first science lesson at secondaryschool, and we had to work together to do an experiment. We got on straight away, andwe've been friends ever since.Notice that by adding more information I've also used more/better vocabulary andgrammar. When the examiner asks a question like the one below, you know that you are beingtested on your ability to express ideas in the future tense. How do you think the design of homes will change in the future? Example answer:I don't think there will be much change in terms of what houses look like from theoutside. In this country, people still like traditional brick or stone houses. Having saidthat, the design of apartment blocks will probably continue to develop, with more andmore experimental or futuristic buildings made of glass and metal. I imagine that it willbe the insides of homes that change the most; houses will no doubt be full oftechnological devices to make our lives easier. Maybe we'll have things like voicecontrolleddoors, lights and appliances.IELTS Speaking Part 3: explain, alternative, exampleIn part 3 of the speaking test, you need to give longer, detailed answers. A good way todo this is by organizing your answers according to the following steps:1.Idea: answer the question directly.2.Explain: give a reason or explain your answer in more detail.3.Alternative: explain an alternative (e.g. the opposite) to your answer.4.Example: give an example to support your answer.5.Another idea: sometimes you think of another idea while you are speaking. Justadd it on the end of your answer. You can give a really good answer without including all five steps, but you might find ituseful to practise including all five, as I've done here:Why do you think some people prefer to buy products from their own countries rather than imported items?(idea) I suppose it ' bsecause those people want to support the economy of the countrythey live in. (explain) If they buy something that was made in their own country, theyknow that they are contributing to the salaries of workers within the same country,(alternative) whereas if they buy imported items, a foreign company and its employeeswill benefit. (example) For example, if I buy some meat that originates from a local farmrather than a farm in another country, I ' mhelping one of my fellow citizens to carry on inbusiness. (another idea) Also, I think that trust is an issue; people might feel that theycan trust domestically produced items more than imported ones.if you don't know the answerHow do you answer a question when you don't know anything about the topic? There are 2 things you can do:1. Be honest and explain why you don't know2. Guess, and tell the examiner that you are guessingExample question:How has technology affected the kinds of music that young people listen to?My answer, using both tips above:(1) To be honest I don't really know the answer to that because I'm completely out oftouch with what young people are listening to, and I'm not a fan of pop music.(2) However, I suppose that technology must have affected music. Maybe young peopleare listening to music that has been made using computer software instead of real musical instruments like the piano or guitar.IELTS Speaking Part 3: longer answersHere are 3 techniques to help you give longer, more detailed answers: Keep asking yourself "why?"IELTS Advice: 'deep' answersThe technique I used above is really useful because it helps you to give a'deep' answer. It's a deep answer when you take one idea and develop it, and you're likely to get a higherscore if you can do this. Unfortunately, many candidates give 'shallow' answers; theymention a few different ideas, but fail to develop any of them in detail. Practise explaining just one idea in as much detail as you can. The ability to do this could really benefit your speaking and writing scores.Question:Do you think that school children should be encouraged to have their own ideas, or is itmore important for them to learn what their teachers give them? Answer:I think that we should definitely allow children to be creative and have theirown ideas.(why?) Children need to develop the ability to think for themselves and solve problems(why?) because as adults they will not always have somebody to guide them or tell themwhat to do. (alternatives?) If we don't allow children to have their own ideas, they willbe less successful in the adult world; they will be too reliant on others. (example?) Adoctor, for example, might encounter a situation that he or she hasn't been trained for, butwill still be expected to make a decision that could save someone's life. Examples for more long answersHere are two more answers using the techniquesWhat do you think are the most important qualities for friends to have? Maybe the most important things are that friends need to share common interests and behonest with each other. (why?) Friends are people we spend a lot of time with, so itdefinitely helps if they enjoy doing the same activities or talking about the same topics aswe do, and of course we need to be able to trust our friends, so honesty is vital for a goodfriendship. (alternatives / example?) I think I would struggle to become friends withsomeone who didn ' htave anything in common with me, or who wasn't reliable ortrustworthy. How important do you think it is for a person to spend some time alone?I ' sday that it ' esssential to spend a bit of time alone, even if it ' jusst a few minutes a day.(why?) When you have a few minutes to yourself, it ' as chance to take stock and reflecton things. (why?) Most of us live such busy lives that our brains need time to catch upevery now and then. (example / alternatives?) Personally, I try to have a bit of “metime ” every day; I ' gllo for a coffee or find a quiet place to sit and read the newspaper. IfI never had any time alone, I think I ' dgo mad!Additional advice: presented by an examiner colleague ) Improving theEnglish language skills that are needed for Part 3 As for language skills, the examiner is looking at your more advanced vocabulary; yourmore advanced grammar, your knowledge of the more advanced languagefunctions andyour more advanced coherence skills.Questions that the examiner asks for information are used both as a way totest yourmore advanced vocabulary and your ability to develop that question bycontinuing to talkafter you have answered the basic question. This, "continuing to talk" issomething like,"adding your comments", even though the question did not ask for commentsbut justseemed to asked for information only. An example is: "What are someexamples ofmodern technology used in classrooms today?" If your answer includesvocabulary suchas, "an overhead projector", you are showing higher-level vocabulary than thevocabulary needed for most Part 1 questions. If you add your own opinionsabout howuseful these items are, or extra information about how different the situation is todaycompared to when your parents were young, then you are speaking in "discussion mode".In other words, first answer the basic question but always look for opportunities or waysto add more, such as your opinions, to your answer. The two web pages mentioned above cover the topic of what language skills are needed. Some people study the English that is needed for Part 3 but they still have problemsactually using it in Part 3, especially for the more difficult questions. This is wherelanguage partners are most useful. It's not easy to practice discussionstyle speaking whenyou just talk to your bedroom wall. You really should practice discussions with anotherperson. When you do that, point out any weaknesses in the logic of your partner or ask afurther question such as why they said that, or mention how your opinion might bedifferent to your partner's and explain why. This is "discussion".However, this is not so easy, even if you have an ideal language partner. I suggest youkeep in mind the idea of, "step by step" progress. Obviously, answering a question ordiscussing a topic in your own language is a step that comes before doing those things inEnglish. Now, if you are trying to prepare for the IELTS test in a short period of time,e.g., two months or less, you probably don't have much time to discuss and answer thePart 3 questions in Chinese. But if you do your preparation the ideal way, i.e., over manymonths, then I suggest you print out some Part 3 questions given in my class and elsewhere (or use the Part 3 example questions from an IELTS Speaking textbook), then youand your partner first ask each other these questions in Chinese, and answer inChinese! After that, you will be in a much better position to do the same in English, with the same questions. But this leads to a further problem: Many people say, "I've never thought about thatquestion (or that topic) before" or, "I don't know anything about that topic"or, "I can'teven answer that question in Chinese". From here, we now go to the second side topreparing yourself for Part 3; improving your knowledge base. Improving yourknowledge base is, of course, a companion activity to improving your vocabulary.b) Improving your knowledge baseEven if your English language skills are quite good, if you have no ideas or opinions orvery little knowledge about a topic, it will be difficult for you to talk about that topic. TheIELTS Speaking test is not a knowledge test or an I.Q. test but if you have good generalknowledge about the topics and questions that are frequently used in all the four IELTStests, you are rewarded for this by finding it easier to say something and if you knowvery little, you are disadvantaged. This is because the makers of the IELTS tests expectprospective university students to have a certain "basic level" of general knowledge. One way to improve your general knowledge is to use the "search engines"of theinternet, such as Baidu and Google, to find articles on the internet that increase yourknowledge base. And, if you really know little or nothing about a topic, you should startby doing that in your own language, Chinese, before moving on to articles on the internetwritten in English. As you read, pay attention to any specific statistics or numbers. If youcan answer a question in Part 3 by including a statistic or number, that usually leaves agood impression with examiners – when you're discussing a topic, facts like that are verysuitable. Not only that, examiners love to learn something new.How should you search the internet? Well, if you can't summarize the topic into a fewwords, quite often just copying the exact Part 3 question into the search engine willyield useful results. Try it! It will usually at least take you to reading materials on thattopic, even if it doesn't exactly answer the question. If the English is too advanced, justuse the Google translation function. That will give you knowledge and ideasin Chinese, which is a beginning.Below are some topics that are frequently used in Part 3. Often, several of these topics arecombined. For example, differences between the attitudes of young people and old people towards the news.changesocietychild development / how to raise a childeducationinformation and communication / types of information / the media (both theentertainment media and the news media) / newshuman relationshuman psychology / people's motives and feelings / personality types values, attitudes and beliefs / the formation of or sources of values, attitudes andbeliefs / the influences that can cause changes in attitudes, values and beliefs male-female differencesdifferences between young people and old peoplethe problems of old peoplethe environmentpersonal qualities needed for different vocations (different careers or differentkinds of work)skills / the formation of skills / skills needed for different kinds of work culture (including your national culture)arthistoryscience and technologyworkleisureFor all of these topics, you should include the following:different 'types of' or categories within this topic. (For example, for "society"there is the sub-category of "social class".)the importance of this topic / importance to society / importance for you, personallyyour personal feelings and opinions about this topicsocial problems or controversial questions connected to this topic / the causes andresults of these problems / possible solutions to these problems changes in this topic in the past few decades / the sources of or causes of these changeslikely future changes in this topic in the next few decades / thesources of orcauses of these changesmale-female differences connected to this topicold-young people differences connected to this topicrural-urban differences connected to this topicthe role of government in this topic / the responsibilities of government towardsthis topicFor the topic of "government", I suggest that you sit down and try to put intowords (inChinese, at first), what you think the general purpose of government is,i.e., why weneed to have government and, from that, what you think the general responsibilities ofgovernment are or should be. Once you are able to express a philosophy about thegeneral responsibilities of government, you will then be able to quite easily express whatyou think the specific responsibilities of government are to any particular social question.c) Preparing answers for the known or probable Part 3 questions that are in use now. For many of you, this will be your main way to study for Part 3 and for some of you, thiswill be your only way to study for Part 3. If it is your only way, I think you are making amistake because you will actually be better prepared for more Part 3 questions if youspend some time studying the information about the different given above and Learningsome different "models" to use for certain types of questions will allow you to beflexible, i.e., to make your own answers to many different questions in the speaking test, in a natural way.Even though preparing for the Part 3 questions from this file should not be your only wayto prepare for Part 3, it is common sense that it will be part of your preparation, andperhaps the major part. You still need practice all questions given to you in my classfollowing my tips ,,,, here are some helpful tipsFirstly, You need step by step move forward to practice every class questionsgiven to you, ! then I suggest you handle this large volume of information by firstreading through all the questions in that Part 3, just to understand the questionsand to get a feel for the different points of discussion that seem to exist within thatPart 3. Don't think about answers to the questions yet. Of course, make sure youlook up the meaning and usage of any new words that you see in the questions, including the pronunciation of these words. Some of you will go to "model answers" in certain IELTS Speaking textbooksand memorize those answers as answers for the Part 3 questions given to you inthe class,. memorizing 100% is a dangerous practice because examiners are veryskillful at recognizing memorized answers. And they don't like answers that areobviously 100% or almost 100% memorized. As well as that, they want you to speak your answers, not someone else's answers. And they don't want to see thatyou obviously knew that the question was in the test before you did the test.Justuse parts of those model answers, not the complete model answers. The best idea is to think of some ideas or points to say, prepare some vocabularyand memorize just a few short parts of your answer. When you practice your answer, speak it a little differently (hopefully, better) each time you practice it andspeak it naturally, as if you were in a real conversation with someone. Don't practice speaking it in a "flat", monotonic way, like a robot who is reproducing programmed language. Some people actually speak better in Part 3, and get a better score, when theyhave no idea what questions are in the test. This is because they speak naturally. So try to avoid "over-preparing" ( 过度准备)your answers.Conclusions:2.You need to experience the activity of "discussion" with another person.3.By first doing further reading on topics, first in Chinese and then in English, you。

雅思口语话题Part3高分范文分享雅思口语话题Part3范文:an English lesson that you have taken 参考答案:Describe an English lesson that you have taken1. What qualities should a good language teacher have?Well, I guess an effective language teacher should, first of all, be knowledgeable and competent to be able to answer all students' questions accurately and lay a good foundation for mastering the language. They should also be imaginative and innovative to break monotony as well as get students excited to learn the language and take lively Participation in the class. I also guess it's vital for a good language teacher to be interactive to develop students' creative self-expression communicative skills, and, of course motivating to spark language learners to use target language whenever possible.2. Why do people learn foreign languages?Oh, I think they mainly do it in order to open up a world of job Opportunities and completely transform their travel experience having a chance to communicate with people from all over the world without any barriers. I also know people who learn other languages to increase their brain power as language learning has a number of positive effects such as memory improvement and a reduced risk of age-related cognitive decline. Young people usually start learning languages for meeting new people and establishing deep cross cultural friendships, and often end doing it for studying or living overseas. I guess these are the main reasons.3. Why do some people learn languages so quickly?Well, maybe because they have a special gift or a so-called 'ear for languages' as some people say. Or because they have amore analytical mind which makes it possible for them to grasp the patterns and rules of different languages as is said by others.I would say it's not for one but for a score of reasons such as aptitude for language acquisition, experience in languages, interest in learning them and a lack of fear of being unable to master them.4. Do you think grammar is important?Definitely, it is as it is the foundation for communication and a mark of intelligence and good education. Grammar is of primary importance, to my mind, as it affects the meaning and clarity of an intended message both making it easier for you to understand the purpose and meaning of your interlocutors' messages and keeping you from being misunderstood by others. It also improves the development of fluency giving people the appearance of credibility. So, no doubt, grammar is vital for communicating with others.雅思口语话题题库答案Part3: Describe a kind of plant or flower 参考答案:Describe a kind of plant or flower1. What vegetables are common in your country? 在你国家什么蔬菜很常见?Oh, I would name tomatoes and potatoes as all-star veggies in my country as all my fellow countrymen eat them. I guess they are so popular because they are delicious and so versatile. Both of them are a great side dish and can be eaten in many different ways, which my compatriots like. They are also vital for health and maintenance of the body as they are rich in essential vitamins and minerals. What is more, my country produces a large quantity of these vegetables, which makes them quite cheap and affordable for any family.2. Do people like to grow vegetables in your country? 你国家的人们喜欢种蔬菜吗?Well, I would say more yes than no as quite a lot of my compatriots do it. I guess the main reasons for that are as follows: first of all, people want to eat healthy, fresh produce and stop worrying about food safety. Eating home-grown vegetables, they can be sure that they are without pesticides and are higher in vitamins and nutrients. What is more, they can enjoy a much better taste and smell of their own foods. Secondly, growing own veggies can save people’s money at the grocery sto re, which adds to a wish to have a small garden. But of course, there are also quite enough people in my country who don’t like an idea of growing foods themselves as it's quite time-consuming and demands hard work in the garden.3. How do people feel when they eat vegetables that they grew on their own? 当人们吃着自己种植的蔬菜时有什么感觉?Oh, I guess they, first of all, feel proud of themselves when they see the bounty of their efforts. I also think they feel confident that they and their families can eat healthy, fresh produce. Oh, and, of course, happy that they saved money on groceries.雅思口语话题Part3范文: a person who is helpful to you in study or work参考范文:Describe a person who is helpful to you in study or work1. Do you like helping others? 你喜欢帮助别人吗?Oh, yes! I really enjoy bearing my hand to others. I can even say it has become my second nature. Helping people and animals gives me a lot of joy and a warm feeling that something I did benefited others and made the world a better place. When I lend my hand to someone in need, I feel like I have a purpose, like Ilive my life for a reason and it makes me really happy. What I don't like about favouring other people is the fact that they are often not ready to accept help or advice and, in the end, turn into enemies. Of course, it makes me upset but, thankfully, doesn't stop me from doing good.2. In your view, should children be taught to help others? 在你的看来,儿童应该被教育去帮助别人吗?Definitely, they should. Lending others a helping hand is really important for increasing children's self-confidence, self-esteem and life satisfaction because it improves mood, reduces stress and anxiety, brings fun and fulfillment to kids' lives. Moreover, it helps kids operate successfully in society, I mean, make new friends, strengthen existing relationships and boost social skills in general.3. How can we encourage children to help others? 我们如何鼓励儿童帮助他人?To my mind, there are a lot of things parents can do to teach and motivate their kids to bear a hand to others. First of all, they should set their own example by helping a neighbour or a relative and letting a child see this action of helping or even engaging a child in this act of kindness. It's vital to teach children to give, and parents can do it by asking them to share an apple or a toy with them or somebody else. They can also make helping a family affair and perform some small acts of kindness together with kids, teaching them to see the abundance around and think of people they can share it with.4. Do you think people are less willing to help others these days compared to the past? 你认为和过去相比,人们更不愿意帮助别人吗?Well, I want to believe that more, despite the fact that peopleare too busy these days to think about others. Technological progress has let people see the inequity of the world and those people they can lend a helping hand to. As a result, people have become more sensitive to needs and troubles of others and more willing to help them cope with difficulties changing the situation for the better. I think the fact that a lot of people are engaged in charitable work and volunteering these days proves this hypothesis.5. Do people today trust others as much as they used to in the past? 今天的人们是否像过去一样信任他人?Unfortunately, no. There is almost no trust to others these days compared to the past. I think this is because the gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider these days. Moreover, there is a high rate of racism and discrimination all around the world. All these factors make people more suspicious and destroy trust. Several decades ago people almost never locked their cars and front doors to their homes or if they did lock the front door, they left the key in some obvious place like under the mat. They also let children go anywhere they wanted without being accompanied. Regrettably, these days it's a highly unlikely scenario.6. How do people in your community help each other? 你们社区的人是如何互相帮助的?Well, I guess, first of all, they donate something they don't use anymore, let's say, give clothes they no longer wear to people who wear the same outfit day in and day out or give toys to children from poor families. They also offer needy families different help like babysitting, tutoring or teaching kids a skill they are good at. Some members of my community volunteer at our local shelter or hospice buying and cooking food, doingchores or just comforting distressed people lending them an ear or saying a kind word. When it comes to neighbours, people can see after each other's houses when someone is g. either watering plants or feeding pet!7. How do students, such as high-school students, help each other? 学生们,比如高中生,如何互相帮助?I guess students can do a lot to help each other succeed both academically and socially because peers play a central role in students' lives, especially in middle and high school. T eenagers often help their friends with building hopes and dreams or even setting goals and then encourage them to do their best to achieve these goals. They also share knowledge with each other and help weaker schoolmates with homework. What is more, students can provide one another with social support, assist with decision-making and help each other develop confidence and clear self-concepts.雅思口语话题Part3范文: Describe a website that helps a lot 参考范文:Describe a website that helps a lot1. Do elderly people use the Internet very much? 老年人用互联网的多吗?Well, it depends on old people, I mean their level of income as, unfortunately, too often they just can't afford to have their own computers. But if they do have computers, I guess they use the Internet quite a lot. First of all, they do it for staying in contact with their relatives and friends either by sending and getting emails or by visiting social networks. They also surf the net for getting news, looking for information they need, watching films and sometimes even for buying products and banking online. So, yeah, altogether quite a lot.2. What do you think are the pros and cons of shoppingonline? 你认为网上购物有哪些好处和坏处?Well, online shopping is really advantageous, to my mind. It lets people do shopping without too much of effort comparing prices with a click of a mouse, getting access to products they can't buy locally and shopping anytime and anywhere either in the comfort and privacy of their home or office or literally on the go. As far as disadvantages are concerned, doing shopping online customers can't get an item straight away after paying for it. don't have a chance to try clothes on and can't compare the fit of the clothes the choosing from.3. Is the Internet important for education? 互联网对教育重要吗?Definitely it is. First of all, it makes education accessible to impoverished communities, which gives hope for their better future. What is more, it provides instant availability of vast stores of information on virtually any subject in real time, allows instantaneous connection to classmates and teachers and lets students communicate with their international peers gaining from their knowledge and experience. So, I am more than sure that it's very important for doing away with illiteracy and getting profound education nowadays.4. What do you do on the Internet? 你用互联网做什么?Well, it would be easier for me to say what I don't do on the Internet. I guess I do everything or almost everything online. I search for information I need, do online shopping, download films and music, read news, check weather, book hotels and tickets, check in at the airport and even communicate with friends and partners. I also read a lot of content, catch new ideas and learn from the advice of highly successful people.5. Do you think parents should supervise their children whenthe children use the Internet? Most likely, yes. Children are too naive and can get into different difficult situations and even serious financial disasters. So, parents should keep an eye on what kids do online in order to prevent the young ones from offering too much personal information and avoid unpleasant surprises. I think it's also quite important for parents to be aware of the files children are downloading not to let viruses and Trojans inside the computer and be able to discover any problems at their earliest inception.6. What's the best age for children to use the Internet? 儿童使用互联网的最佳年龄是几岁?Well, I guess any age starting from 3 as long as kids use the Internet for educational reasons and with parents' supervision. If there is no parents' or adults' supervision, then only when children are mature enough, aware of the risks of surfing the net and able to think critically or when they've shown repeatedly to make the right choices while using the Internet.7. Why do children nowadays start using the Internet very early? 为什么如今的儿童过早地使用互联网?Oh, I guess, first of all, because many parents support kids' early exposure to the Internet by providing them with opportunities to explore and study online. They understand that the Internet provides a wide range of opportunities for children's learning, participation, creativity and communication with others, and do their best to involve their kids in online activities as early as kids have special skills for that. One more reason why little ones start surfing the net early enough is because they treat it as a source of entertainment providing them with a chance to watch cartoons, video clips and play games online.。

• It is no doubt that a policy like one-child policy in China right now will bring many good effects. As each couple is only allowed to have one child, they will do the best they can to give their child good education and good living conditions. They will do a lot to make their own child to be the best. It is favorable for the child’s growth financially.

What is your opinion in one child-policy?
• As China is having an enormous economic expansion, it is also facing many problems. One of the major problems people have become more and more concerned about is the country’s population. It is also very well known all over the world that in China couples nowadays are not allowed to have more than one child. It has received lots of criticism from almost every corner of the world ever since. Many people, especially people in western countries, consider this policy as a strong violation of human rights. Even though I think this is a strong argument, I will, however, not concentrate on this aspect in this report. Instead, I will try to give a brief analysis of the problem from a more demographic and economic point of view.

雅思口语第三阶段问题与答案3

雅思口语第三阶段问题与答案3

31. What do you think the goal of an education should be and tell me why you feel that way?Education should really be a time where you learn new ways of thinking and are challenged to go beyond what you know. But if I were to choose between learning useful things versus learning for enjoyment, I would definitely choose learning for enjoyment. I don't mean just learning when I feel like it. Rather, I mean studying things that interest me. If I am truly interested in a subject, I will really try harder to learn it. I think the goals of education should also be to produce a well-rounded person, I mean a person who is not just good in one or two areas but a person who can show knowledge in quite few areas.32. What do you think is important in a friend? That's an interesting question because I don't have that many strict standards. I prefer having a real variety of friends. I think it's important just to want to be my friend in a sincere way.Friendship is extremely important to me. It's like being brothers or sisters, but even more than 'that. I mean, I would do nearly anything for my friend, and I'd expect that he'd do the same for me. If he didn't help me when I was in need, then I would not consider him a good friend. I have a lot of different kinds of friends and there's not really just one type of friend that I am friends with. What qualities do you think a good journalist needs? A journalist must be responsible to his or her readers. Not only must a journalist be quick to react in any circumstance, but also he/she must always remember to uncover the real facts to the reader.33. What qualities do you think a good teacher needs?I think the basic qualities involve two things. First the teacher must understand the process of learning and the ways to make learning more efficient and effective. I also think that a teacher must have a good personality that motivates students to learn.I don't think its necessary for a teacher to have a perfect personality but at least they must show a passion for what they are teaching. The moment the students sense that the teacher just doesn't care about the subject then they also lose their enthusiasm for it. Patience is a key quality too because if there is no patience than students will be ignored.34. What do you think the goal of travelling should be?The goal of travelling? , Hmm. .. I've never thought about that before. I guess the goal of travelling should be to enjoy yourself. For me, I think the goal I usually have is to have an experience that sticks in my mind for a long time and to give me a wider understanding of the world. I like to feel good about visiting a place and I like to think that the place made me a better person.I think often too many people travel just so that they feel they are adventurous and so they can boast to all their friends about all the places they have seen. But I think it is more important to truly relax and take your time exploring things without having to follow some rushed plan of things to see.35. How should people be promoted at work? Through experience or performance? This is a very big issue in a lot of companies. I'm not sure how I feel about this issue because I think both experience and performance is important. I mean if you've been working for a long time I think it's natural that you would expect better treatment. On the other hand, I don't think that it's right that experienced people should put little care into their job just because they think that their jobs are well protected because of seniority. In my opinion people should be promoted based on a combination of experience and performance. If they do not perform they may be demoted or even laid off, but if they do perform they will be promoted. Those people who perform well but have little experience should be promoted but not too high because this will only discourage those people who have worked in a company for a long time.36. What qualities do you think are important for a successful or good film? That's difficult to say. A good film doesn't have to follow a certain formula. I think there are all kinds of good films and they don't have to be a certain style. I think the basic qualities are commitment and professional acting. I can't stand those actors who start in movies with little concern about how to make their characters seem like real people. I think that the cinematography is quite important because without it you are just presenting images without concern for the meaning they convey. If there is no concern for the way it is shot then you might as well read a book, because the main features of films that make it pleasing are its setting and artistic filming. These days, I think the one criteria for a successful film seems to be just good special effects, but I don't care much about that.37. What do you consider to be a good way to spend time with friends?I think the best way to spend time with friends is to go hiking and camping with them. You know, when you go travelling with them you may get in many disputes because you never know what your friend really wants to do. Travelling can create conflict, and sometimes you rarely have a moment just to sit down and chat with your friend. In my view, it's better to go camping because when you're camping you are not in any rush to go somewhere and there are fewer choices. You can just enjoy what you're doing. On the other hand, you should make sure you're well organised when camping or you could have fights about what you should have done to prepare.38. How do you define a good quality life? This is just my opinion, but I think a good quality life involves no fear or thought that you are in danger, or being unfairly treated. I think it's a life where there are no serious health risks and there are opportunities to enjoy yourself without feeling worried about the consequences. I mean, if you're worried about the pollution in the water or you are worried about the crime in an area then it doesn't matter how rich you are because you have no opportunity to enjoy your surroundings. A good quality life can probably be found anywhere in the world but I think the conditions in some places make it easier than other places.39. What is your standard of a good place to visit?I think the place should first have opportunities to see something that you haven't seen very often. Also I think there should besome reasonable facilities there for you to enjoy. For example, there should be, at least, some decent roads to get in and out and some decent place to see. I think also that the place should be relatively safe and clean. I think also it should offer some opportunities to see things without getting charged for everything. I mean there are just too many places that charge you for every step you take and I think this is wrong because good places shouldn't be just anther kind of tourist trap.40. What is your standard of success? In my mind, success mean reaching the goals that you have for yourself, and it means you have achieved something that is not only good for yourself, but also good for others. I mean, if you have lots of money that doesn't necessarily mean you are a success. It could mean that this money just meant that you were lucky or you just happened to have the right talents. True success means meeting your goals, and if your goals just happen to be raising a happy family, well I think that also makes you a success.Making Predictions41. What do you think of the future of China if China keeps an open policy?I think China's future is very promising. The open policy has brought many benefits to the Chinese. For example, our standard of living has increased, China has become a stronger nation economically, and we've learned a lot about the rest of the world. China needs to continue with an open policy in order for us to gain strength and respect as a world-class nation. 42. Do you foresee there being more advertisements in the future?Yes, I believe so. We are getting more and more foreign advertisement, and as more investments are coming in, I think this is something unavoidable. The concept of advertising on TV, for example, is just beginning to catch on among the bigger companies and as more and more private businesses grow and increase their advertising budgets they may give TV a chance. Also, I think you'll see more and more advertising agencies start up in China that will specialize in making good advertisements and they will be in hot demand in the next few years.43. How will the Internet change people's buying habits do you think, in the future?I think the change will be incredible in the future. People rely so much on the Internet nowadays that they spend a lot of their time in front of the computer. More and more people are buying things over the Internet, and I think this trend will continue in the future. People will not get out of their houses, they'll just shop from the home. The key challenge before this happens is that the stores must find a good way of delivering things at a low cost. This has been the biggest problem in the past for a lot of e-commerce type companies but I have a feeling they'll become more skilled at it in the future.44. Do you think that the Internet is going to change the way we get news?Well, already we are seeing that. I get my latest news from the Internet. And I believe this will be the trend for the future if more and more people get wired up with the Internet. I'm not sure in the future whether newspapers will survive if more people get the news from the Internet. I think the main way it'll change the way we get news is that we will get the events immediately. We can now get a variety of sources. Also, people will become more sophisticated about the things that are happening around the world and they will be able to make up their own minds about issues.45. Can you imagine what transportation will be like in the future?I think it will be fuelled by different energy sources because there is just no way that we can continue with petroleum for much longer. So I think that when new energy sources come out, you'll see different designed transportation. I also predict that some transportation will begin to use the air more often just for short heights because I think that the road systems cannot always be forever maintained and repaired. We need to find other ways, so I imagine our cars will probably be flying and maybe there will be flying bicycles too.46. What would life be like without music? What would life be without music? That's tough to say. I mean we just take it for granted that we'll always have music but I guess if there wasn't any music we'd suffer in a very big way because we need music to create some higher form of pleasure. We need music to get in touch with some of o u r d e e p e r e m o t i o n s . 雅思口语part 3的参考答案

雅思口语part 3的参考答案

Part 3: Relaxing1. What are some of the various things that people do to relax?Well, I’d say there are a lot of different ways that people like to relax, of which probably the most common would be listening to music or watching TV.2. Do people of different ages relax in the same way?No, I guess on the whole, they generally don’t. I mean, children, for example, kind of just like to relax by playing with toys or watching ca rtoons on TV. And for my age group, I’d say we generally like chatting with friends on QQ or weibo, which is the Chinese equivalent (相当)of Twitter. And regarding the older generation, I’d say they generally tend to relax by simply either watching TV or reading the newspaper, which is something that young people don’t really do anymore.3. Are there any differences in the way people relax today compared to the past?Yeah, I’d say there are, because for example, in the past,I think it’s fair to say that (我觉得可以说…) people mainly used to relax in front of the TV, whereaadays, it seems to be the case that people are moving away from the TV and spending more time on the computer instead. So that’s one difference, and I suppose another thing to mention would be that quite a lot of people now, especially young people, like going to cafés to relax with their friends. And this is reflected in the fact that there are lot more cafes around than there used to be.4. So why are people spending more time on the computer?I’d say there are a handful of reasons (很多原因)as to why this is the case, one of which would be that we are now able to do more and more things on the computer, like watch films and TV series, whereas in the past, we were only able to watch them on TV. And if you watch stuff on your computer, you don’t have to sit through all the annoying (烦人的)adverts which you get on the TV.5. Why do you think some people find it hard to relax? That’s a good question, and I suppose there are a number of possible reasons for this, one of which might be that they’re overloaded with work(超负荷工作), and generally just too stressed out to relax.I mean, a lot of people I know find it very difficult to completely forget about their work when they’re at home, because their work is always at the back of their mind (心底), regardless of what they’re doing.6. Do you think that there is more stress in modern life than there was in the past? It’s pretty hard to say, but I guess there probably is, yeah, because first of all, living costs have got a lot higher, and secondly, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult finding a decent job (好的工作) with good pay, as competition’s so fierce nowadays. Whereas in the past, there didn’t use to be so many things to worry about, because life was basically a lot simpler.7. What about the future, do you think there will be less stress than today, or more?Well I’m not altogether that sure, but my feeling is probably that there will be slightly less stress, because I mean, I think we’ve reached a point where life can’t get much more stressful than it already is! So in the future, I imagine life will go back to being a bit simpler. In other words, I think what will most likely happen is that people will get better at prioritizing (理出优先顺序) their time and cut out doing (停止做……)things which aren’t that important to them.8. Some people think leisure activities are a waste of time. Do you agree?Well I guess it depends what the leisure activity is. Because if it’s something that doesn’t benefit you in any way, then I’d say it is a waste of time. But if, on the other hand, it brings some kind of positive value to you, then I’d say it’s definitely worth while. And I mean, if you think about it, people who don't have any hobbies tend to be very one-dimensional (一维的), whereas those with lots of hobbies tend to be much more well-rounded (全面的)and interesting people.Part 3: Decisions1. What do you think are the most important decisions that people make in their lives?Well, off the top of my head (不经考虑的话), I guess it would be decisions like who you want to marry and spend your life with, how many children to have, and what kind of job to pursue, because these are things which will have a huge effect on your whole life.2. What skills are necessary when making decisions?I’m honestly not that sure, because I mean, when I make decisions, I’m not really thinking about what skills I’m using, I just kind of make them, if you know what I me an! But I suppose one skill that’s sort of necessary in making decisions is analytical skills, because this will help you weigh up(估量)each choice you face, and therefore guide you in making a good decision. And as well as this, I think that having the ability to make decisions quickly without pondering (斟酌) too much is also necessary, because we often have to make decisions without full knowledge of something.3. How can people improve their decision-making skills? If truth be told, I’m not the best person to ask, because I’m not that good at making decisions, but I suppose one thing people could do would be to trust their gut instinct(直觉)more. And by that I mean attach more importance to (更重视)how they are feeling deep down, because I think our mind has a kind of sixth sense in knowing what the right thing to do is.4. Do you think that parents should make important decisions for their children? On the whole(总体来说), I’d say they shouldn’t, no, because what parents think is best for their children isn’t always necessarily the best thing. So as far as I’m concerned, I think wherever possible, parents should let their children make their own decisions, because after all, it’s their child’s life, not theirs. And even if the child doesn’t make a good decision, they will still end up (最终)learning from it.5. How can older people help young people make their own decisions wisely? That’s a good question, and thinking about it, I’d say probably the main thing they can do is to help younger people understand what the most important things to take into consideration are, before they make a decision. You know, older people have experienced more in life, and so they're generally more aware of what’s important and what things should be prioritized (优先化). So I think there’s a lot that young people can learn from them.Part 3: Organizing1. What factors should be considered when planning an event? What factors? Um… well firstly I would say the venue (地点)–you know, where the event’s gonna take place. That’s probably the first factor that needs to be considered. And as well as this, the cost of the event definitely needs to be taken into account, and how it’s gonna be funded. And finally I suppose you need to think about how you’re gonna publicize (宣传) the event, you know, how are you gonna make people aware of the event so that people actually go! So yeah, I’d say these are the main factors that need to be considered.2. Do you think some people are born with an ability to organize?Yeah, I suppose some people are. And I mean, I think it’s the same with everything really. People are born with all kinds of talents, and I guess organizing is one of those things. You know, some people are born with musical talent, some people are born with artistic talent, and likewise (同样), some will be born with an ability to organize. And come to think of it (仔细想起来), I do actually have a few friends who seem to be naturally good at organizing stuff, cos as far as I know (据我所知), they’ve never taken any classes on it or anything, but they’re just really good at it.3. How should parents teach their children organizational skills?Well, I guess they should just kind of, wherever possible, give their children the opportunity to organize things by themselves, instead of always doing it for them. So for example, on weekends, let their children plan out what they’re gonna do, and help them develop this habit. So yeah, basically just give them the opportunity to organize things themselves, and if that means making a fewmistakes along the way, then so be it!(那就随它去吧) You know, the mistakes will also be a good learning experience for them.4. How can people develop their organizational skills?I suppose they can do it in a number of ways, one of which would be to learn from people who are good at it. So in other words, like, ask them how do they do it, and pick up (学到)good habits from them. So it could be from their teachers, their classmates, anyone they know really. And if they don’t know anyone good at it, they could, I guess, read a book on it, you know, find some books about it. I’m sure there are loads (大量的)out there. So yeah, these would be two ways, and then just practice!5. What kinds of things require organizing? All sorts of things, I think. For example, events, like parties, require organizing. What else? Um.. I guess generally just your free time. Of course you don’t need to organize it, but if you do, you won't waste it. You’ll make much better use of it (更好地利用它). And uh… what other things…? I’m sure there are many other things that require some degree of organizing, but I’m afraid this is all that comes to mind right now(我现在能想到的就这些).Part 3: Water sports1. Why do so many people like going to places with water, such as lakes, rivers or the ocean? Uh… I guess the main reason is that water has a kind of calming effect on (对…有镇静的效果) people. And when you consider all the stress that people are under these days, then I think it’s easy to understand why people gravitate to (被吸引到)places near water.2. What kinds of leisure activities do people like to do in places such as on the ocean, or at a beach? All kinds of things really. You know, some people like doing exciting things like jet-skiing(水上摩托)or scuba diving (进行戴水肺潜水), while others prefer doing more relaxing things, such as just lying down on a deck chair with a book. So it really kind of varies!3. As a place to spend some leisure time, do you think the seaside is more suitable for children or old people? That’s very hard to say, coz personally I think the seaside is a good place to go for both the young and old, but in terms of which age group it’s more suitable for, then I suppose I’d have to say the elderly, simply because they are more aware of the dangers of the ocean. So if children go to the beach, their parents need to keep a close eye on them(小心看护).4. What activities would you do if you were spending some leisure time at a beach?I think I would do a few things. For example, I would definitely go paddling (涉水) in the sea, because I always enjoy doing that whenever I go to the beach, and it’s much less effort than swimming! So that’s one thing, and what else would I do? Um…well, I suppose another thing I would probably do is just lie on a deckchair, which I know is quite bor ing, but it’s also really relaxing - you know, you can just close your eyes and listen to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore(听海浪撞击海岸的声音).5. Do you think government should invest in water sports? No, not really. Because I think there are a lot more important things that the government should focus on. I mean, after all, water sports are purely(纯粹的,单纯的) recreational(娱乐性的), so if no money’s invested in them, then it’s not really going to have a significant effect on anyone. So I think the government could put their money to much better use by investing in things such as education and healthcare, which will make a much bigge r difference to people’s lives.Part 3: Old Things1. What kinds of old things do Chinese people keep at home?Ah, I’d say all kinds of things really. I mean, most families will have things like old photos, possibly old books as well, paintings, that kind of stuff. And I guess, like, the personal items that maybe their ancestors (祖先) once had, are also the sorts of things that people like to keep, and that varies between family to family. So yeah, it’s really kind of hard to generalize.2. Why do you think people keep these things?I’d say it’s primarily because it reminds them of their family history. So for example, it reminds them of family members who have passed away, or significant events in their family history. So basically they hold very special memories to people, and although they may not be very valuable in terms of what they’re worth, they’re really important in terms of the sentimental value (情感价值)they have.Oh and one other reason for keeping old objects might be for investment purposes(投资目的), because a lot of old objects, such as antiques(古董) for example, appreciate in value over time(随时间升值). -3. Do young people in your country like old things?Um… for the most part I would say not particularly. I mean, if you look at the things that most young Chinese people have, the majority of them are new, you know, like phones, computers, the books they read, the films they watch… there are not that many old things among them. But saying that, I wouldn’t say they have a strong dislike towards old things, it’s simply that they prefer modern stuff, as it’s basically more practical(实用的)!4. Do you think it’s good to recall the past?Yeah, most definitely(绝对是). I mean, everyone has special memories, and if we didn't recall the past, it would a bit of a pity just to forget everything that’s happened and not reflect on(反省、仔细想、回忆) it. You know, we can learn so much from the past, and looking back at the happy times we’ve experienced can also cheer us up when we’re feeling down(不开心、沮丧). So yeah, I think it’s extremely important to recall the past.。

雅思口语Part 3常见问题类型和参考答案

Part 3常见问题:Making Comparisons – Questions on Differences1. What are the differences in the music that young and old people listen to?I suppose there are a handful of differences, one of which would be that young people, onthe whole, mainly like listening to pop music, whereas the older generation tend to prefer listening to more traditional music, like folk music, Chinese opera, and even old revolutionary songs. So that’s one difference, and I guess another would be that young people often listen to Western music as well as Chinese music, whereas in contrast, I think it’s fair to say that most elderly people just tend to listen to Chinese music.2. What are the differences between living in cities and living in the countryside?Well I guess one difference would be that living in rural areas is generally a lot morerelaxing than living in urban areas, basically because the pace of life is relatively slower and more laid-back (悠闲). So that’s one thing, and as well as this, I guess another difference would be that in the countryside, there are generally not as many things to do as there are living in cities.3. What are the differences between young people and old people when they go travelling?I guess there are a handful of differences, of which one would be that young people generally like doing quite exciting and energetic things, for example if they’re on the beach, theymight play frisbee or volleyball, whereas I would say the elderly, on the whole, tend to simply like relaxing when they go on holiday, so they’ll probably take a few books with them and spend most of the time on a deck chair next to a swimming pool soaking up the sun and enjoying the feeling of doing nothing.4. What are the differences between a city centre and the suburbs?Well firstly, I think it’s fair to say that the city centre tends to be the most built-up area of the city, and is where most of the main commercial buildings are situated, like shopping malls and office blocks, whereas the suburbs are generally much more residential, and everything’s usually a lot more spread out (分散).So this is one aspect, and I suppose another thing to mention would be the traffic, because in most cities, the downtown areas, on the whole, tend to get horrendously congested (可怕的拥堵), whereas in the outskirts, the traffic’s normally not too bad, which is why I guess more and more people nowadays prefer living a little bit further out from the city centre – at least this seems to be the case in Guangzhou anyway.5. What are the differences between formal and casual clothes?Well thinking about it, I’d say it’s really what they seek to achieve. So basically what I meanis that, for formal clothes, one’s appearance is the most important aspect. In other words, you want to look good and presentable (像样的) in front of others; whereas for casual clothes, I’d say the comfort is the most important thing, which is why most people wear casual clothes when they’re at home. So formal clothes might look better than casual clothes, but they’re definitely not as comfortable!6. Are there any differences between the people who were famous in the past, and the people who are famous today? That’s an interesting question, and to tell the truth, I’m not really all that sure. But thinkingabout it, I guess there might be a few differences. I mean, nowadays it’s relatively easier to become famous because of the Internet, which gives everyone the possibility of gaining exposureto a large number of people. So because of this, I’d say that nowadays there are a lot of peoplewith normal backgrounds who have been able to become famous, whereas in the past, I imaginethis wasn't so much the case (以前不太这样子的), and that most people who became famousseveral decades ago probably received more professional training and had privileged backgrounds (家庭背景好).7. Do people of different ages relax in the same way?No, I guess on the whole, they generally don’t. I mean, children, for example, kind of justlike to relax by playing with toys or watching cartoons on TV. And for my age group, I’d say we generally like chatting with friends on QQ or weibo, which is the Chinese equivalent of Twitter. And regarding the older generation, I’d say they tend to relax by simply either watching TV orreading the newspaper, which is something that young people don’t really do anymore.Part 3常见问题:How important…?●It’s extremely important because…●It’s definitely important because…●It’s essential because…●It’s fundamental because…●It’s not that important because…(It’s not so important because…)1. How important are leaders to a community of people?Oh, I think that good leadership is absolutely vital for the progress and stability of a community. Humans are social by nature, and having strong individuals guide them, is essential for their development.2. How important is giving hospitality to friends/strangers in your culture? It’s very important to be hospitable in Chinese culture. We always pay extra attention to makingpeople feel at hoe when they visit us. We believe that it is a sign of curtesy(=politeness), and weshould make sure that people feel as comfortable as possible. In the countryside, it’s very common for farmers to offer tea to people who pass by. I visited many old villages in Fujian and Guizhou, and I was always well received by the locals when I asked them for directions. Chinesepeople are usually very welcoming.3. How important is it to maintain individuality? It is fundamental to maintain individuality. Even if you are part of a team, you should fix yourselfsome personal goals, because you can’t always depend on others. In addition, if you improve yourself, everyone will benefit from it. Nowadays, I think that it is important to think by oneself, and make decisions independently. In China, we receive an education that does not encourage individuality or originality, but it’s essential to be creative and independent in today’s world. You should realize what is good for your own future. Plus, I think it ‘s nice to have time on yourown sometimes. I was raised as an only child, and I enjoy being alone from time to time.4. How important is music for a country?Music is essential for a country. First of all, every country has its own music, which means thatmusic can represent national identity. In addition, music definitely brings people together, so itcreates feelings of patriotism. For example, when the national anthem is playing, people willbe proud of their own countries.5. How important do you think traditional music will be in the future?Well, we never know for sure what will happen in the future, but I think that our traditionalmusic will become more fashionable very soon. I think that people might get tired of international music. Young people might enjoy the traditional sounds, as well as the skills requiredto play ancient instruments. Some famous artists like Jay Chou already mix modern rhythmswith traditional sound. I think that might get even more popular in the future. Traditional instruments like the erhu, pipa or guzheng sound absolutely stunning.6. How important are art galleries in modern societies?I think that art galleries are extremely important to societies because they display the objects societies consider beautiful. Art galleries are great places for people to appreciate fine art. Theyallow people to daydream, and they develop everyone’s imagination. I regard art museums as sophisticated places. Only refined people can fully enjoy art. I think that children should be takento art galleries, and a guide should explain to them why paintings are meaningful and what theyactually represent. Everyone should understand that art expresses feelings.7. How important are clothes as an expression of personality?I would say that clothes are extremely important nowadays. I think clothes reflect people’s tastes. You can judge if people care about their appearance or not, you can see if they are rathershy or outgoing. Sometimes colors can express whether or not people are active, enthusiasticor even optimistic. On the other hand, I was raised to believe that we shouldn’t judge a book byits cover. Appearance can be deceptive. A man might wear a suit on a daily basis at work, andyou might think that he is serious and reliable, but in fact he may go out every night, drink a lotof alcohol and lie to everyone. Very often, clothes reflect your professional position rather thanyour personality.Part 3常见问题:How could…? (Solutions)●I guess the best would be to…●I guess there are a number of things that could be done, one of which would be to…●I guess …could be… in a number of ways.●One possibility might be to…●One thing could be to…●I guess that requires…●They should definitely do… and…●It is indispensable(=essential) for the government to…●In order to solve this problem, the government should…●The most effective way to solve this problem might be to…●They could also arrange to do…● A number of actions should be taken…●This issue should be taken care of (=tackled) step by step…●Initially… Then… And probably most importantly…Explaining your idea:●Because in so doing,…●Because by doing that,…●Because then…●Because at the moment,…1. How can traffic congestion be reduced?Well, I guess congestion could be reduced in a number of ways. For example, one thing would be to increase the number of car lanes, because in so doing, cars would have more space to drive around. So that’s one thing, and I suppose maybe another possibility might be to introduce (引进) a congestion charge (拥堵费), like they’ve done in some cities around the world, as by doing this, people will think twice (三思而行) before getting into their cars. So yeah, that’s basically what I reckon.2. How do you think noise in cities could be reduced?Thinking about it, I guess there are a number of things that could be done, one of which would be t o impose a fine on (惩罚) companies or individuals who make excessive noise, especially construction companies, because I’d say they’re, by far, the biggest culprits. And as well as this, maybe another thing might be to ban vehicles from hooting, because it’s one of the noisiest sounds in cities, and so I’m sure they would become a lot quieter without cars hooting all the time.3. How do you think you could improve and be on time more often?I guess the best thing to do would be to always allow lots of time to get anywhere. So for example, if it normally takes me, say, half an hour to get to the city centre, then I should probably leave home about an hour before I need to get there.4. What can the government do about pollution?Well I guess they could do a number of things, one of which would be to encourage people to reduce their carbon footprint (碳脚印), in other words, become more environmentally-friendly. And one way of doing this, I suppose, might be to introduce a system whereby people are paid for recycling things, such as empty bottles and cans, otherwise they have no incentive.5. How can children be encouraged to play less computer games and more sports? That's a tough question, because it's practically impossible tearing a child away from a computer screen when they’re busy playing a game, but I guess one thing that could be done would be to make sports more appealing by providing more sports facilities. So, in other words, if a child only has to walk five minutes to get to a basketball court, he’s much more likely to play basketball than if he had to catch a bus for half an hour.6. How should parents educate their children before they start school?Well, I'm no expert, but I guess one thing they should do is encourage their children in everything they do, even if they make mistakes, because this'll help build children’s confidence and self-esteem (自尊). So that’s one thing, and I guess another good thing for parents to do would be to read stories, especially ones with good moral values, because all children love stories, and, in this way, they’ll be learning things without even realizing it.7. How do you think people can deal with pressure? That’s a good question, and thinking about it, I’d say one thing that they could do is to let those close to them know how they’re really feeling, instead of keeping it bottled in (把感受深埋心底). And I know it sounds a bit simple, but I think in this way, friends and family will be able to help someone share the burden they are feeling, and hopefully help them get rid of the pressure. Or at the very least (最起码), they can support them in dealing with it.8. How do you think children could be brought up to become unselfish people?Well if I think about how my parents brought me up, one of the things they did to prevent me from becoming selfish was to set a good example (做出榜样) for me. In other words, they were always considerate and generous towards others, and this rubbed off on me (对我产生了影响), you know, it made me act in the same way. So I’d say this is definitely one of the best things that parents can do.9. Do you have any ideas on how to help children learn to co-operate with others and work asa team? That’s a good question, and thinking about it, I’d say one way of cultivating their teamwork skills would be through games, because after all, every child enjoys playing games. So if they were given games to play which involved working together with other children, then I think this would be a very effective way of developing their sense of teamwork.10. In what ways can parents encourage their children to develop leadership abilities? That’s a good question, and I’d say parents can encourage their children in a number of ways, one of which would be to give them as much freedom as possible to do what they want, instead of always telling them what to do. Because in this way, I think children will be able to better develop a sense of independence and maturity, which are important leadership qualities. And as well as this, I think another thing that parents can do is to always encourage their children in everything they do, regardless of how well they do it, because children will become more self-confident as a result, and will therefore be more likely to become a good leader.Part 3常见问题:Why问题类型1. Why do people enjoy visiting others?People enjoy visiting their friends and relatives because it is a good chance to get together and talk. You only enjoy visiting the people you get along well with. You expect to share some stories, or some laughs. Visits always bring people closer together. In addition, you might have a drink or some snacks while talking. Being with friends is always enjoyable and relaxing.2. Why do many people enjoy painting as a hobby?Painting must be relaxing, I guess. It could be a good way for a person to forget about his or her problems. It’s a quiet activity for people to unwind, and use their creativity at the same time.3. Why do many people encourage their children to join groups?I think that parents always want their children to be a member of a team because it is important for kids to socialize and make friends. Being part of a group will allow children to communicate with other young people and to expand their social skills. Nowadays, it’s fundamental to have good interpersonal skills. In addition, parents believe that it is better to play or learn with others rather than to be alone. A lot of young people like to stay in front of their computers at home, but parents consider this as a bad habit. I think that hanging out with other people is more fun and enjoyable.4. Why do some people think that keeping pets is good for children? It can be beneficial for children to have a pet because the animal can become a good companion. In addition, some parents believe that having a pet can give children a sense of responsibility. The kids must walk the dog, clean it and feed it. It could be a good chance for children to learn how to take care of weaker and younger creatures. I think that children with pets might learn how to be more considerate and thoughtful.5. Why do many films nowadays show a lot of violence? That’s a good question, and it fuels(=create)a lot of debates. I think that many men like to watch violent movies because, perhaps deep inside, men need this kind of adrenaline rush (=intense excitement) but they can’t experience it in real life. I think that young men always dream of having super-powers, and being able to crush anyone they dislike. Nowadays, we live in a pretty peaceful society even though there are occasional crimes, and violence simply lets people escape from reality. However, I think problems can sometimes happen when some people stop being able to discern what is real from what is fictional.6. Why don’t some people want to play sports?I suppose it must be related to their education and their personality. If their parents didn’t encourage them to practice sports at a young age, chances are they won’t enjoy running and competing. In addition, some people simply don’t have this mentality. Some might say they are a little lazy. I think everyone is different: in English you say “to each his own,”, right?7. Why do some people follow fashion in your country?Well, I guess it’s nice to look good and trendy. People want to buy cool clothes in order to leave a good first impression on others, and they also want their friends to think that they look nice, or elegant, or hip. Looking attractive is important in society. Wearing nice clothes definitely gives people confidence. In addition, people enjoy spending time with pretty girls or handsome guys: it’s always more pleasant talking with them. It sounds a bit superficial, but I think it’s true, we’re all attracted to beauty.8. Why is it important to know weather predictions in advance?I think it’s important to know what the weather will be like for people who plan to go traveling, or for those who plan to spend time outside for a special occasion. In addition, when there are weather alerts for a typhoon, a tornado, or a hurricane, it’s obviously vital to be aware of what might happen. These are extreme circumstances. Otherwise, I don’t think we need to check the weather forecast on a daily basis, because we shouldn’t try to control everything. I guess it’s simply a habit old people develop. I don’t think young people worry too much about tomorrow’s weather.9. Why do many people want to go abroad for an extended period of time?A lot students want to further their studies overseas because they believe that foreign universities can offer a better education, as well as more opportunities for their future. In some cases, people expect to find a better job and to make more money. I’ve heard that many Australian students take a year off after their studies in order to relax before starting our in life. They want to visit many countries and experience life. I think it’s amazing for young people to be able to do this. In China, if a student finds a part-time job, he’ll never make enough money to fly all around the globe.10. Why does shopping make some people feel happy?I guess that it’s always a pleasant feeling to get some new clothes that look good. It can make you look better, and people feel more confident when they’re pleased with their appearance. In addition, a lot of women consider shopping a hobby. It’s relaxing for them. They can spend time with their friends or their mothers, chatting and laughing while trying on new clothes. We all know how much women worry about their appearance, so it’s understandable that shopping for nice clothes and shoes can make themexcited. What’s more, we are all becoming more materialistic: we all care about having a car, a nice mobile, a good computer, because other people do. We can’t help comparing what we have with that others ought. On top of this, if we can buy something nice and expensive with our own money, we will experience a sense of achievement.Part 3常见问题:Compare…(Advantages and Disadvantages)●Well, looking at the advantages, I’d say that the main one is that…And as for the drawbacks, I suppose the most obvious one is that…Well, in terms of the positive effects, I’d say it’s a key source of revenue for many regions, especially for underdeveloped areas which would struggle a lot if it wasn’t for tourism. And it also creates a lot of employment for countries as well. Regarding the negative effects,I wouldn’t actually say there are that many, but I supposeone could be that local governments in some areas might start paying more attention to attracting tourism rather than the well-being (福利) of the local citizens, which I think is wrong, because taking care of the needs of the local citizens should always be the number one priority(最优先考虑的事).3. What are the pros and cons of long-distance travelling?Ok, well looking at the pros, I guess I’d basically say that when you travel far away, you get to see things that you wouldn’t normally see where you’re from, so for example, if I went to Africa, I’m sure I would get to see a whole new lifestyle, you know, something completely different to what I’m used to here.”And as for the cons, well, first of all, travelling a long way can be quite stressful and exhausting, especially if there are delays involved. And I know from personal experience that long-haul flights (长途航班) tend to be particularly uncomfortable, as unless you’re in business or first class, you have very little leg space, and it’s really difficult getting to sleep. So it’s often not a great deal of fun, especially if you’re travelling on your own.4. What are the advantages of giving money as a gift?Well, I guess one of the biggest advantages is that the person receiving the money can get whatever they want with it, so you save yourself the risk of wasting your money on something that the person has no interest in. And as well as this, I guess another advantage is that it saves a lot of time, because firstly you don’t have to spend time deciding on what to get, and secondly, you don’t have to bother about going and buying something. So all in all, money makes a pretty good gift!5. What do you think are the benefits of traveling by train?Well for me, I’d say one of the biggest benefits is that, with trains, you pretty much know (基本上知道) exactly what time you’ll arrive somewhere. Because I mean, unlike cars and buses, you won’t get stuck in traffic (堵在路上) if you go by train. So unless your train is delayed, which doesn’t happen a lot here, you should be able to get where you wanna go on time.So that’s one thing, and as well as this, I’d say another good thing about traveling by train is that you can get up and move around during the journey, which isn’t really possible if you’re in a car! So I think this makes traveling by train a bit more comfortable and enjoyable than a lot of other forms of transport.6. Are there any disadvantages to having lots of money?Yeah, I suppose there are. For example, I’ve heard quite a few stories about people who have won the lottery that have gone on to become quite unhappy and depressed, because everyone around them suddenly started asking for money. So this would be one disadvantage, and I guess another would be that it might bequite difficult to tell who your real friends are, because it’s very likely that a lot of people might want to make friends with you purely because of your money. But in any case (不过,五路如何), I’d still much rather be rich than just well-off (小康)!7. What are the benefits of swimming?Well, I guess the first thing to say would be that it’s good exercise, because you use all the muscles in your body when you swim. And it’s also relatively easy on the body, at least compared with some other kinds of exercise, because when you swim, your body’s moving in quite a smooth motion, whereas in sports like basketball and football, you often have to make sudden movements, which can lead to injuries if you’re not careful! So that would be one thing, and I guess another good thing about swimming is that it’s usually quite refreshing (清凉提神的), especially when the weather’s hot, and it can even be quite relaxing, as long as the pool’s not too crowded, of course!8. What are the good points about being famous?Well first of all, I imagine if you’re famous, you’re probably welcomed by people everywhere you go, which I’m sure must be nice to experience! So that’s one thing, and I guess another advantage of being famous is that you get a lot of companies sending you free stuff, like clothes and bags, in the hope that other people will see you with their product and then go and buy it themselves. And I remember once reading an interview with Will Smith, the actor, who said that he hardly needs to buy anything nowadays, because he gets most things for free!9. Are there any disadvantages to being famous?Yeah I’d say there are. And the most obvious one would be a lack of privacy. Because as I’m sure you know, most celebrities get followed around everywhere by the paparazzi, even on holiday, which I’m sure they must get sick and tired of (感到十分厌烦).So this would be one disadvantage, and I guess another would be that it might be quite difficult to tell (很难看得出) who your real friends are, because it’s very likely that a lot of people might want to be your friend purely because of your fame. And I guess that’s the reason why most celebrities mainly hang out and mingle(交际) with other celebrities.10. What benefits do people derive from taking part in competitive sport?Well I’ve never really thought about it, but I guess one benefit would be that people get a lot of excitement from taking part in competitive sport, because I mean, one of the beauties of sport is that you never quite know what’s gonna happen, or how the result’s gonna turn out. So it’s generally quite exciting taking part, and not just that, but (不仅如此) it’s also a fun way of keeping fit. You know, it’s a lot more fun than simply running on a treadmill (跑步机) for example!11. In general, what are the pros and cons of advertising?Well, looking at the advantages, I’d say that the main one is that it can help increase the awareness of a product or service, and in a lot of cases, you can reach a very wide target market through advertising, for example with TV and Internet ads. And as for the drawbacks, well I suppose the most obvious one is the cost, because as I’m sure you know, advertising isn’t cheap, and you have to pay for it up front, before you can start enjoying the benefits. So in other words, there’s quite a big element of risk (风险) to it, because you know, you could end up losing quite a lot of money if your advertising campaign (广告宣传活动) isn’t successful.。

Early exposure to violence onTV leads to abnormalities in children's behavior. Children's minds are not mature enough to understand the context of the violence that they watch on television. Children are in the age when their behaviors would be easily influenced by others. The violence of media would make the children follow what they see. Violent information also will have a bad effect on both children’s mentality and body.
