UPS设备通常对电压过大和电压过低都提供保护。

UPS电源的工作原理市电输入正常时：UPS将市电稳压后供应给负载使用，此时的UPS就是一台交流市电稳压器，同时它还向机内电池充电。

市电中断（事故停电）时：UPS立即将机内电池的电能，通过逆变转换的方法向负载继续供应220V交流电，使负载维持正常工作并保护负载软、硬件不受损坏。

后备式UPS平时处于蓄电池充电状态，在停电时逆变器紧急切换到工作状态，将电池提供的直流电转变为稳定的交流电输出，因此后备式UPS也被称为离线式UPS。

后备式UPS电源的优点是：运行效率高、噪音低、价格相对便宜，主要适用于市电波动不大，对供电质量要求不高的场合，比较适合家庭使用。

然而这种UPS存在一个切换时间问题，因此不适合用在关键性的供电不能中断的场所。

在线式UPS这种UPS一直使其逆变器处于工作状态，它首先通过电路将外部交流电转变为直流电，再通过高质量的逆变器将直流电转换为高质量的正弦波交流电输出给计算机。

在线式UPS在供电状况下的主要功能是稳压及防止电波干扰；在停电时则使用备用直流电源（蓄电池组）给逆变器供电。

由于逆变器一直在工作，因此不存在切换时间问题，适用于对电源有严格要求的场合。

在线式UPS不同于后备式的优点是供电持续长，一般为几个小时，也有大到十几个小时的，它的主要功能是可以让您在停电的情况可像平常一样工作，显然，由于其功能的特殊，价格也相对要贵一些。

对于中型规模的企业，通常会选择T-1接入，月租金大约为3000元。

但是大多数小规模的企业和广大住宅用户只能采用基于电话线路的窄带接入(POTS和拨号)。

现在，DSL和Cable Modem 作为过渡技术，提供了比较便宜的数据传输服务，但是这些技术也有其缺点，如实施比较困难，施工周期比较长，带宽受到传输距离和现有线路的质量影响较大，对话音服务支持不好等等。

虽然接入网技术的发展相对缓慢，远距离网络传输的带宽却因为波分复用(WDM)等新技术的应用而迅速增长。

UPS设备简介

由于UPS单机本身的故障率低，因此目前大型UPS产品的平均无故障工作时间（MTBF）为20万～40万小时。
采用具有高度容错功能的“N＋1”型UPS冗余并机系统来进一步提高 UPS供电系统的可靠性（“1＋l”型冗余并机系统的典型MTBF值可达140 万～200万小时）。
在整套UPS供电系统中，不应存在单点瓶颈故障隐患。允许在UPS逆变电源连续供电的条件下，执行不停电的维护和检修操作。万一在用户设备端出现短路故障时，应将故障的影响缩小到尽可能小的范围。
2、开关机顺序
为了避免负载在启动瞬间产生的冲击电流对UPS造成损坏，正确的使用方法是首先给UPS供电，使其处于旁路工作状态，然后再逐个打开负载，最后才开机.这样就避免了负载电流对UPS的冲击，使UPS 的使用寿命得以延长。关机顺序可以看做是开机顺序的逆过程，首先逐个关闭负载，再将UPS关闭。（如果是晚上关总闸开关时，必须先把UPS关掉后再关总闸，以免造成UPS空载工作，从而造成电池由于小电流放电而损坏机器
3.关机之后
在市电中断后，UPS由电池组供电并自动关机后，不可再利用UPS电池组供电开机，以避免电池因过量放电而损坏。当市电发生异常而转为UPS电池组供电时，应及时断开市电，待市电恢复正常后再打开市电(市电异常,比如说三相电掉
一相电)
4.使用环境
与电脑的工作环境类似，UPS对环境温度的要求同样也不是很高，通常在0℃~40℃都能正常工作。但防尘问题同样也困扰着UPS，UPS的使用环境要求清洁、少尘、干燥，灰尘和潮湿的环境会引起UPS工作不正常。而UPS电池组对温度要求则较高，标准使用温度为25℃，平时最好不要超出15℃~30℃这个范围。温度过低不但会减小电池组的容量，还会进一步影响UPS的使用寿命。另外，UPS的防磁能力也不是很好。所以不应把强磁性物体放在UPS上，否则会导致UPS工作不正常或损坏机器。

4、UPS如果内部短路会导致电击或着火的危险，故不得将装有液体的容器放置于UPS上方，以免导致触电等危险。

5、万一机器冒烟，请迅速切断电源，并与经销商联系。

6、请勿在以下环境保管或使用本产品：◆有可燃性气体、腐蚀性物质、大量灰尘的场所◆异常高温或低温（40°C以上或0°C以下），高湿度（90%以上）的场所◆有阳光直射或接近发热器具的场所◆有剧烈震动的场所◆室外7、万一UPS周围失火，请使用干粉灭火器。

使用液体灭火器有导致触电的危险。

8、请将插座放在UPS附近，以便紧急情况时能拔掉插座，切断电源★安装及使用◆包装检查打开包装，包装内应有：●UPS整机●说明书取出UPS，检查机器是否在运输中损坏。

如有损坏或部件缺少，请勿开机，并告知承运商或经销商。

市电连接当输入电源线将UPS机器与市电连接时，开始给电池充电。

建议机器先充电6小时后再使用。

♦连接设备将使用设备的输入电源线连接到UPS后背板上的稳压电池输出插座上。

提醒:请确认UPS是开机状态，以确保市电断电时UPS可以保护所连接重要设备的数据，防止丢失。

注意:不要在UPS稳压电池输出插座上连接打印机或扫描器，这些设备将会明显使UPS的负荷超载导致不能正常工作。

开启UPS开启UPS机器时，轻按开关按键，指示灯亮起即可。

本机器具有直流开机功能，不需要市电就可以直接启动UPS，方便使用。

一旦市电中断，UPS转入后备供电，请及时对个人电脑其他负载作存盘或其他断电应急处理。
