毕业学生发言稿英文版
Good morning/afternoon/evening. It is with a heart full of gratitude and a mind brimming with memories that I stand before you today to deliver this speech on behalf of my fellow graduates. As we come to the end of our academic journey, it is fitting that we reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to the future.First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the faculty members who have been our guiding stars throughout this journey. Your unwavering commitment to our education, your passion for teaching, and your willingness to go above and beyond to help us succeed have been truly inspiring. We have learned not only the subjects we studied but also the importance of perseverance, critical thinking, and ethical behavior. To our parents and families, we owe you an immense debt of gratitude. Your love, support, and sacrifices have been the foundation upon which we have built our academic and personal lives. Your belief in us has been the driving force that has pushed us to strive for excellence. Today, we stand here as a testament to your unwavering faith in us.Our classmates, you have been our companions, our competitors, and our friends. The bonds we have formed over the years have been some of the most precious memories we will carry with us. Your laughter, your tears, and your shared experiences have made this journey unforgettable. As we embark on our separate paths, we will always cherish the friendships we have forged here. Now, let us reflect on the past. We have come a long way since we first stepped onto this campus. We have faced challenges, overcome obstacles, and grown both academically and personally. We have had moments of triumph and moments of defeat, but each experience has contributed to our character and made us who we are today. Our education has been more than just learning facts and figures; it has been about developing a holistic perspective of the world. We have learned about history, science, literature, and the arts, and we have come to understand that knowledge is not just about accumulation butalso about application. We have learned to think critically, to analyze situations from multiple perspectives, and to make informed decisions. As we celebrate our achievements today, we must also acknowledge the lessons we have learned. We have learned that success is not measured by the grades we receive or the accolades we earn, but by the impact we have on others and the positive changes we bring to the world. We have learned that true leadership is about inspiring others to be their best selves, not about wielding power over them.Looking ahead, we find ourselves at a crossroads. The world is changing rapidly, and with it, the opportunities and challenges we will face. We must be prepared to adapt, to learn, and to grow. We must be ready to embrace change and to take risks, for it is through risk that wediscover our true potential. As we step into the workforce or continue our studies, we must remember that we are not just graduates of a university; we are citizens of the world. We have a responsibility to use our knowledge and skills to makea positive difference in the lives of others. We must be agents of change, advocating for social justice, environmental sustainability, and global peace. In closing, I would like to share a few words of advice with my fellow graduates. The world is constantly evolving, and it is our responsibility to keep up with the pace. Third, be kind and compassionate. The smallest acts of kindness can have a profound impact on the lives of others. As we leave this institution, we carry with us the knowledge, the skills, and the experiences that have prepared us for the challenges ahead. We are ready to face the world with confidence and determination. We are ready to make a difference. In conclusion, let us celebrate this momentous occasion together. 毕业典礼演讲稿英语作文大全6篇毕业典礼演讲稿英语作文(精选篇1)Dear leaders, teachers, parents, dear studentshello everyone!Today is an unforgettable and celebratory day. After five years of hard work, the students here have successfully completed their primary school study. They are about to bid farewell to their golden childhood and enter a new journey. First of all, on behalf of all the teachers in the primary school, let me express my heartfelt congratulations to you.At this moment, looking at your innocent and happy smiling faces, my eyes seem to emerge every bit of your school. Five years, we walk hand in hand, the small classroom, sprinkled our laughter, wrote down the figure of our struggle, engraved our heroic oath. We get along day and night. We are teachers and students in class and friends after class. We have established a deep relationship between teachers and students. Looking back on the past five years, it seems that it happened yesterday, and every teacher will never forget: the first time you walked into the beautiful and tidy dormitory, lying on the comfortable cot, that excited look; When you first put on the red scarf under the bright national flag, you look solemn; After your own extracurricular learning, you can show your artistic talents on the stage; You use your diligence to repay the teachers fruitful results: in all kinds of competitions held throughout the country, you have achieved good results many times and won many praises for the school! In the past five years, in the fertile soil of Nanshanbilingual school primary school, with the care of school leaders and the careful cultivation of teachers, and with the active cooperation and strong support of parents, you have grown into a vigorous youth.School is not only the cradle of your growth, you are here to fly the ideal, sowing hope. But today, you are going to bid farewell to your alma mater. The teacher sincerely hopes that you can open up a new situation in the new semester and write your wonderful learning life with a never say die self-confidence! Bill Gates, the king of computer software, once said: "the secret of my success is not to do something, but to understand what I dont do..." so the teacher hopes that you can distinguish rightfromwrong, abide by the law, make good use of your words and deeds, and be an upright person. The reason why eagles fly high and fly freely in the blue sky is that they have a pair of hard wings that have been honed by storms, cold and heat. May you fly high bravely like eagles to welcome a brighter tomorrow and embrace the more dazzling sun. Finally, I hope you can use the green of youth to brew a rich golden autumn in the future!I wish you success in your studies and a bright future!毕业典礼演讲稿英语作文(精选篇2)There are many memorable things, I have had a particularly memorable things, that is my primary school graduation party. Although it is a party, but we are held during the day, may be called "white"."The day before the white", we are ready to do the work, prepared a cake, tea, sound...... There are many wonderful programs. The night before, I cant sleep a night, excitedly waiting for the arrival of"white".The second day, I went to school early. To the classroom, I saw the classroom four corners of asound and the walls are connected with lights, window adhesive beautiful balloon......When all the students came to the classroom, the teacher in charge announced the graduation party officially began. Some students take the curtains closed, lights are open, as in the balloon is more beautiful in the classroom, sound floated out of the soft songs. I drink a cup of milk tea, quietlywatching the students performances. Have a classmate in front of the blackboard, with white lightappeared in the students who, like in a concert. The classmates performance is very wonderful, suddenly the lights, "bang" sound. I dont know what was happening at the time, until you feel a littlepaper shredder body, I know just the students put pieces of fireworks."White" slowly is close to the end, the students sang Li Shutongs "farewell" "pavilion, the trail edgegrass, sky......" The song. Later, everyone is very sad, because some of the students in junior high school when they are not together, also after all, this is the last day in his alma mater.Primary school I is how naive, is a naive child. Junior high school I know at that time were sad. A classmate, a friendship. The primary school graduation let me forget.毕业典礼演讲稿英语作文(精选篇3)you all are leaving your alma mater now. i have no gift to present you all except a piece of advice.what i would like to advise is that "don’t give up your study." most of the courses you have taken are partly for your certificate. you had no choice but to take them. from now on, you may study on your own. i would advise you to work hard at some special field when you are still young and vigorous. your youth will be gone that will never come back to you again. when you are old, and when your energy are getting poorer, you will not be able to as you wish to. even though you have to study in order to make a living, studies will never live up to you. making a living without studying, you will be shifted out in three or five years. at this time when you hope to make it up, you will say it is too late. perhaps you will say, "after graduation and going into the society, we will meet with an urgentproblem, that is, to make a living. for this we have no time to study. even though we hope to study, we have no library nor labs, how can we study further?"i would like to say that all those who wait to have a library will not study further even though they have one and all these who wait to have a lab will not do experiments even though they have one.when you have a firm resolution and determination to solve a problem, you will naturally economize on food and clothing.as for time, i should say it’s not a problem. you may know that every day he could do only an hour work, not much more than that because darwin was ill for all his life. you must have read hisachievements. every day you spend an hour in reading 10 useful pages, then you will read more than 3650 pages every year. in 30 years you will have read 110,000 pages.my fellow students, reading 110,000 pages will make you a scholar. but it will take you an hour to read three kinds of small-sized newspapers and it will take you an hour and a half to play fourrounds of mahjian pieces. reading small-sized newspapers or playing mahjian pieces, or working hard to be a scholar? it’s up to you all. henrik ibsen said, "it is your greatest duty to make yourself out."studying is then as tool as casting. giving up studying will destroy yourself.i have to say goodbye to you all. your alma mater will open her eyes to see what you will be in 10 years. goodbye!毕业典礼演讲稿英语作文(精选篇4)In the past decade alone, we’ve seen historic hurricanes devastate islands across the Caribbean. We’ve seen ‘1,000-year floods’ hit the Midwestern and Southern United States multiple times in a decade. And we’ve seen record-breaking wildfires ravage California and record-breaking typhoons kill thousands in the Philippines. This is a true crisis. And if we fail to rise to the occasion, your generation, your children, and grandchildren will pay a terrible price. So scientists know there can be no delay in taking action – and many government and political leaders around the world are starting to understand that.Yet here in the United States, our federal government is seeking to become the only country in the world to withdrawfromthe Paris Climate Agreement – the only one. Not even North Korea is doing that. Those in Washington who deny the science of climate change are no more based in reality than those who believe the moon landing was faked. And while the moon landing conspiracy theorists are relegated to the paranoid corners of talk radio, climate skeptics occupy the highest positions of power in the United States government. Now, in the administration’s defense, climate change, they say, is only a theory – yeah, like gravity is only a theory.People can ignore gravity at their own risk, at least until they hit the ground. But when they ignore the climate crisis, they are not only putting themselves at risk, they are putting all humanity at risk.毕业典礼演讲稿英语作文(精选篇5)Dear teachers and studentshello everyone! The years are in a hurry, and the flowers are blooming and falling. In a twinkling of an eye, the words of six years of primary school students have passed like clouds. However, my heart is still very attached to my alma mater. After six years of primary school life, I can usher in a strange school gate. Here, many memories are clearly reflected in my mind. From the first day of the first grade, I came to this mysterious and strange campus. Day by day in the past, the blink of an eye to the second grade. Once, my friends and I were chasing each other on the playground. We were very happy. Without waiting to be happy, a sudden pain happened to me. There was a classmate who stretched out his foot, but at that time I was still completely immersed in the game. One of them didnt pay attention and was knocked down. But because of my confusion, half of my face fell out of blood, just like the face was destroyed. At that time, the players were stunned and dull for two seconds before they realized that I was wrestling. Some of my friends wipe my face with paper towel while walking, while others hold me, showing great concern and anxiety in their eyes. At that time, my tears have been spinning in my eyes, moving tears have been flowing down.I still remember that when I held the sports meeting, I chose two events, both of which were running, but I was just making trouble. I ran the 100 meter race first, and I came last. I was very discouraged, but the teacher came to comfort me and encouraged me all the time. One day later, it was my 200 meter run, and I was the last runner. The teacher not only didnt say that I was useless, but also encouraged me all the time, saying that you will get good results in the next race. I also want toget good grades very much. Im born without motor cells. No matter how I practice, I cant even get up. In sports, I may be a Dou that I cant help.Goodbye, dear alma mater, the past events in your arms are still fresh in my mind. They are the shining pearls in our memory warehouse; In your arms, we become sensible from ignorance; In your arms, we grow from childish to mature; In your arms, we have changed from timidity to bravery. Dear students, please remember that we are together bit by bit, day and night, let our friendship last forever.毕业典礼演讲稿英语作文(精选篇6)Instead of challenging Americans to believe in our ability to master the universe, as President Kennedy did, the current administration is pandering to the skeptics who, in the 1960s, looked at the space program and only saw short-term costs and long-term benefits.President Kennedy’s era earned the nickname, ‘The Greatest Generation’– not only because they persevered through the Great Depression and won the Second World War. They earned it because of determination to rise, to pioneer, to innovate, and to fulfill the promise of American freedom. They dreamed in moonshots. They reached for the stars. And they began to redeem – through the Civil Rights Movement – the failures of the past. They set the standard for leadership and service to our nation’s ideals. Now, your generation has the opportunity to join them in the history books. The challenge that lies before you – stopping climate change –is unlike any other ever faced by humankind. The stakes could not be higher. If left unchecked, the climate change crisis threatens to destroy oceanic life that feeds so many people on this planet. It threatens to breed war by spreading drought and hunger. It threatens to sink coastal communities, devastate farms and businesses, and spread disease.。

毕业典礼英文演讲稿(通用6篇)
毕业典礼英文演讲稿(通用6篇)毕业典礼英文演讲稿1Dear students, distinguished teachers:After years of hard study, students have successfully realized their college dreams and are about to embark on a new journey of life.First of all, ON behalf of the school to XX all undergraduate graduates to express warm congratulations and heartfelt blessing!Todays commencement is destined to be an unforgettable moment for all of us. It brings me back to my own graduation from college more than 30 years ago.I just listened to the speech of sha Ying, the graduate representative, and I believe she represents the sincerity of all the graduates of XX.Students of the school, parents, teachers have such heartfelt expression of emotion, Alma mater feel happy for you, I am proud of you!Dear students, this year, the university has reformed the criteria for awarding bachelors degree. The degree awarding has been separated from the Score of Cet-4, enabling more students to successfully complete their university studies. The reason why we do this is not to think that English is not important. The fundamental starting point is to adhere to the people-oriented concept and adhere to the way of education of the university, so that every student can enjoy free and harmonious development. The future of life should not be affected by the SCORE of CET-4.In fact, from another level, when we learn English well, we should also pay due attention to our mother tongue, establish the confidence and consciousness of national culture, which is also the obligatory responsibility and responsibility of university education.College graduation ceremony is a vivid embodiment of the spirit and culture of the university, which will remain in our hearts forever after many years. This year, the university has provided a gown for each of you to feel and enjoy the occasion.Due to the large number of graduates, I cannot personally award degrees to each student. Please understand that I will authorize each school to award bachelors degrees to each student.University is the palace of human science and knowledge, is the highland of thought and spirit. The Confucian classic, The Book of Rites, opens with the words: "The way of a university lies in being clear and virtuous, being close to the people, and being perfect.Knowledge leads to stillness, and stillness leads to stillness, and stillness leads to security, and security leads to contemplation, and contemplation leads to acquisition."Such ideas are still guiding the running practice of modern universities in China."Stop at perfection" undoubtedly represents the highest pursuit of human moral ideal, which is the power of faith. We say that the fundamental mission of a university is to foster morality and cultivate people. What is the basis of virtue? It is ideal, it is faith, it is faith.People are good and evil, people are good and evil, the key lies in the difference between ideals, beliefs and beliefs. An ideal is a vision of what is possible in connection with a goal.Faith is the spiritual will established on the basis of certain knowledge, to believe in a certain idea or ideal and to act on it.Faith is the highest level of ideas, is a certain doctrine, advocates of extreme confidence, trust and respect. In my mind, faith is a sacred word, faith is a power of thought. To be strong, a nation must have firm and upward faith. To prosper, a society must have a firm and upward faith; To live a meaningful and valuable happy life, one needs a great faith to guide andsupport.Fellow students, faith is the foundation of morality, faith is the source of strength, faith is the rule of behavior, faith is the mark of action, faith is the road to happiness. In this era of pluralism and openness, we still need firm faith. In the course of life in the future, I hope you will let the lighthouse of faith illuminate your way forward, and let the power of faith guide you to live a full life with pursuit, value and significance!Thank you!毕业典礼英文演讲稿2Dear parents, teachers and dear children:How do you do!First of all, my warmest congratulations to you as you finish your studies and head off into the distance.Just listen to the introduction of 20 classes, just like flipping through old photos, arouse my dusty memories.Remember, 20XX, in the military training base, our school team to visit you, is catching up with you in the hot sun to practice standing posture, the instructor told me that this is "I have ever seen the most strong will of the students."I remember that in 20xx, in the final district unified examination, it was you who created the history of winning the second place in Longgang District by equal points of multiple cultural disciplines. You told everyone with your efforts and actions that "everything is possible as long as you work hard."I remember that in 20xx, in the science and culture festival, you created an 8-meter long scroll "Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival", and you performed a large-scale poem reciting "Ode to Chinese Etiquette" in the rain. At that time, a leader who visited our school said to me, "This is the real quality education."Of course, you will not forget the college entranceexamination, the red carpet, and teachers high five refueling, so confident, so heroic, so exciting. At that moment, I said to myself "This is our greatest educational achievement, you are xx forever proud."This touching photo will not only be treasured in the archives, but also in the minds of every xx forever.Because, she recorded your colorful youth, witnessed your growth footprint, froze many warm moments. But I also know that life cannot and should not be frozen in photographs.Today, you will leave here, resolutely to the distance of lifes dreams.Facing the distance, I believe you must be full of longing, lofty feelings. But, dear students, have not thought, you why to go far? Please do not forget, only reading can reach far.As much as you have read, dear children, as your president, I want to tell you that I would much rather see you stop studying for tests, stop studying for what you need.Reading is a lifetime thing, reading will give you wisdom and spirit, give you the direction and method of the distance;Remember, there is still peace so far away.Impetuosity will not take you far away, do not for immediate fame and wealth and exhaust your passion for life, do not shake the direction of your life for the cold and hot professional.Students, if you want to send far away, dont go too far in the direction of small wisdom, think more about big wisdom, big pattern;Dont go too far in the direction of complaining, think about how to build, how to grow;Dont go too far in the direction of hatred, think more about tolerance and gratitude;Dont go too far in the direction of utilitarianism and tackiness. Think about the dedication and dedication of your parents and teachers.Dontgo too far in the direction of self-righteousness, think more about the dream at the beginning.Boys, always remember why you set out."We have gone so far that we have forgotten why we started," said The Lebanese poet Gibran. We should not pursue education for the sake of education, so that we forget the social responsibility of higher education; We should not succeed for the sake of success, so that we forget the mission and responsibility behind success; We should not be individualistic for individualistic sake, so that we forget the essence of human nature and the direction of progress. As president, as teachers, everyone here is eager to see you go faster and climb higher in your life. But I want to tell you right now that you dont have to go too fast on your way to a distant place. The Indians told us not to run too fast, but to let our souls follow;Do not too deliberately pursue must go far, "know" can be far.Class, please take an old photo for a trip. When confused, the old photos of "seeking truth, kindness and beauty" may help you point the way.In times of despair, that old picture of you as a miracle may give you strength to move forward. When you succeed, old pictures of "progressive happiness" may add even more joy and happiness.毕业典礼英文演讲稿3Members of the Parent Council, Parents, teachers and students:Everybody is good!Today is the graduation ceremony day of our school, this years graduates, thanks to all the superiors and distinguished guests, in their busy schedule to come to guide, and give a lot of precious prizes to encourage students, on behalf of the teachersand students to the highest respect and gratitude.Dear graduates, graduation is only the end of one stage of learning, but also the beginning of another. After three years of hard study in Sacred Heart, the students finally finished their study with perseverance, patience and perseverance. All the officers, distinguished guests, parents and teachers present here are happy and congratulating you.In the past three years, every teacher of Sacred Heart has not only taught you knowledge, but also guided many people and things. As you are leaving school today, the headmaster would like to remind and encourage you.I think in todays society, there are a lot of people at the time of frustration, or work not smooth, will think of going to fortune tellers, we are not against fortune tellers, but more importantly, each one should carry his own life, go your own way and the master of himself is the fate, want to change your fate, create a new bureau, only by knowing yourself, settled themselves, their own have a real possibility,So how do you create yourself? Whether a persons connections are abundant or weak is an important key to success.A smile, a greeting can become attached to others, please do not be stingy. The fourth ability: People often complain: Why do I always fail to achieve the goal and desire to succeed, but do we have enough ability to open the door to success? A product has good quality and marketing plan, but if there is no good execution ability, no matter how good the product is, it will not sell well. Therefore, it is very important to develop your own professional field and executive skills.Dear students: as the saying goes: fortune makes life, the opportunity is infinite, do you want to create the spring of your life please do not forget, you must have a firm belief, correct concept, good contacts, advantage ability, with the above conditions, I believe your future will be full of spring flowers, brilliant. Finally, wish: graduates, bright prospects, bright future!Blessing: school students, academic progress, happy body and mind!I wish: distinguished guests, good health and all the best! 毕业典礼英文演讲稿4Dear teachers and students:Everybody is good!Today, we are here to hold the graduation ceremony of the class of 20XX.First of all, on behalf of the school, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the students who have successfully completed their studies in junior high school after three years of hard work, and pay high tribute to the teachers who have cultivated the healthy growth of the students. At this moment, I have a lot of feelings.Three years ago, you entered the depression door with confidence and hope, three years later, you harvest success and dreams are about to embark on a new journey in life.Look back on more than a thousand days when you "dreamed and struggled, gave and enjoyed, achieved and exceeded".The process of learning is lonely and hard, but the result is always exciting and surprising. In this past years, I as your president, moved you moved, harvest your harvest, success in your success! Some people say that youth is too hasty a book.Yes, three years, more than a thousand pages so quickly turned over, but the Alma mater and teachers, forget you in the classroom assiduous figure, forget you stay in the Alma mater all the beautiful little drops!Over the past three years, you have learned to be curious and more positive. You learned to be a man, to be tolerant and kind; You learned to live together, know humility and comity; You have learned to do things and are thriving. In the past three years, you have developed a strong teacher-student relationship with your teachers.Teachers in giving you knowledge and ability, teach you philosophy of life, but also theirselfless love for you, give you meticulous care.In this regard, let us use warm applause to all the students hard work, dedicated teachers to express our heartfelt thanks again!Junior high school graduation, for you this is just an important stage of life journey, you become the road, but also a long journey. We cannot make cheap predictions about your future, nor can we make easy predictions about your future."Difficulties and hardships, yu Yu cheng", success only by their own efforts, success only by their own hard work.Students, you are about to embark on a new journey of learning, I want to give you three words:The first sentence: the sea is wide by diving, the sky is high as the birds fly, I hope you will study in any school in the future, can be diligent, meticulous, and achieve good results. The second sentence is "cultivate morality, aim high", I hope that no matter what kind of career you are engaged in in the future, you can work steadily in your own post, and strive to become the backbone, the mainstay of society, become the pillar of the society. The third sentence is firmly believe that "mountains and rivers doubt there is no way, a bright future and a village", no matter what difficulties encountered in study and work in the future, never be discouraged, to use a healthy and optimistic psychological and normal positive attitude to face, believe that love to fight will win!Believe that "sunshine always after the wind and rain"!Dear students, bid farewell to the familiar campus, bid farewell to the teachers and students who get along with each other day and night, bid farewell to this nostalgic life station, infinite broad and beautiful prospects are unfolding in front ofyou.I hope you will cherish the unforgettable years in your Alma mater forever and never forget the ardent expectations of your teachers. I'm really excited but also a little nervous to be up here talking in front of all of you.First, I want to say congratulations to all of my classmates! We made it through elementary school. It wasn't always easy, but we stuck together and had a lot of fun along the way. I'll never forget the good times we had on the playground, in the cafeteria during lunch, and even just sitting in our classrooms working on projects together.Elementary school taught us so many important things beyond just reading, writing, and math. We learned how to be good friends, how to share, how to listen to others, and how to be respectful. Our teachers also showed us that it's okay to make mistakes sometimes, as long as we learn from them and keep trying our best.I know I've grown so much as a person these last few years. Back in kindergarten, I was really shy and had a hard time raising my hand or speaking up in class. But my teachers were so patient and encouraging that eventually I gained more confidence. By 4th grade, I was even brave enough to audition for the school play! There were ups and downs, but my favorite elementary school memories were just the simple, everyday moments. Like when we would gather on the rug for story time and our teacher would read us the most amazing books that fired up our imaginations. Or during indoor recess when we would build mega-fortresses out of cardboard boxes. So much laughter and creativity! While I'll really miss elementary school, I'm also excited for the new adventures ahead in middle school. It's going to be a big transition with different teachers for every class, lockers, and way more students. But I know as long as I apply what I've learned here about working hard, being a good friend, and believing in myself, I'll be just fine.I need to start wrapping this up, but before I go, I want to thank all the teachers, staff, principals, and families here today. You all put in so much effort to make sure we were learning, growing, and being supported every single day. We really appreciated all your hard work, even if we didn't always show it!To my fellow graduates, let's give one more cheer and then move those tassels from right to left. We did it! Again, congratulations everyone, and thank you!篇2Hello everyone! My name is Sally and I'm so excited to be here giving this speech for our graduation ceremony. Can you believe we made it all the way through elementary school? It feels like just yesterday we were starting kindergarten, learning to tie our shoes and spell our names. The past 6 years have flown by so fast. We've learned so many new things and grown up a ton. I still remember the first day of 1st grade like it was yesterday. I was so nervous to have a new teacher and be in a new classroom. But Mrs. Johnson helped put me at ease right away with her warm smile and fun activities. That year we learned to read simple books, do basic math, and even put on our first school play about the seasons. I'll never forget being a cloud for the spring scene! In 2nd grade, we really started becoming great students. We practiced cursive writing until our hands cramped up. Welearned about fractions and how to tell time. And of course, who could forget the dreaded timed multiplication tests every Friday?I used to get so stressed about those. But now I can rattle off my9 times tables no problem!3rd grade was another big step up in responsibilities. We had to start using lockers and got homework almost every night. Writing became a huge focus too. I remember my first big research report - I did mine on sea turtles and their habitats. It took forever but I was so proud when I got an A! We also went on our first big field trip that year to the science museum. Riding a big yellow school bus for the first time was so exciting. The jump to 4th grade definitely felt huge at the time. Our textbooks got so much bigger and thicker. We learned all about fractions, decimals, long division...my brain felt like it was going to explode from all the new math concepts! We dove deeper into writing too with persuasive essays and book reports. And of course, who could forget the very first time we had to do THE TEST. I still get nightmares about filling in those bubbles for the standardized state exams! In 5th grade, we were finally the big kids on campus. We got to be leaders and mentors for the younger students. It felt so grown up to be able to stay for after school activities and clubstoo. We got to take more specialized classes like computer coding, art, and music exploration. My favorite was definitely the robotics club where we learned to build and program little Lego robots. It was like having real life video games! This past year of 6th grade has just flown by in a blur. The academics were harder than ever before as we prepped for middle school. We learned about ratios, percents,pre-algebra...my mind is still spinning from all the new math! We read classic novels like To Kill A Mockingbird and did in-depth analysis. Writing research papers with citations was definitely a new challenge too. Don't even get me started on the roller coaster of struggles with learning the scientific method and the dreaded volcanoproject! But we all worked so hard and supported each other along the way. We've built amazing bonds and friendships that will last forever. We've had underwater basket weaving, talent shows, spirit weeks, field days, and so many more fun memories together. It's going to be so hard to say goodbye to the teachers who have mentored us for all these years too. We all owe them a huge thank you for their patience and guidance. And of course, we couldn't have made it this far without the never-ending love and support from our families. Our parentshave cheered us on at every single event, no matter how small. They've pushed us to work hard but never let us give up when things got tough. I know my mom and dad are my biggest fans and believed in me every single day, even when I doubted myself. We owe them all so much gratitude. So here we are, elementary school graduates finally ready to take on the world of middle school! While I'll miss the familiarity of our little campus, I'm really excited for all the new adventures and experiences awaiting us. Things will be tough with new classes, new teachers, and new expectations. But I know we're all up for the challenge. We've grown up so much these past years. We've evolved from kids who could barely hold a pencil into mature students ready to change the world. Our future is so bright and I can't wait to see what amazing things we'll all go on to accomplish in life.No matter where our paths lead next, I know the lessons and memories from elementary school will forever be a part of us. We'll look back fondly on this time of childhood wonder, discovery, and growth. This place and these people will always hold a special place in our hearts. So to all my fellow graduates, let's give one last hurrah to our beloved elementary school! We'll never forget the place thatnurtured us, helped us spread our wings, and gave us the tools to soar higher than we ever imagined. The future starts now, nothing can stop us! Thank you and congratulations class of 2024!篇3A Graduation Speech from an Elementary School StudentHi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm so excited to be here today for our 5th grade graduation ceremony. This is such a big day for all of us!We've been waiting for this moment for years. Remember when we were just little kids in kindergarten? We had so much to learn about reading, writing, math, and everything else. But look how far we've come! We can read chapter books, solve complex math problems, write creative stories, and so much more. We've worked really hard to get to this point.I still remember my very first day of school like it was yesterday. I was so nervous! Would I make friends? Would I like my teacher? Would the work be too hard? But as soon as I walked into my kindergarten classroom, I knew I was going to be okay. Mrs. Jackson was the nicest teacher ever and helped me feel right at home. And I quickly became best friends with Sofia and Michael. We've been inseparable ever since that very first day! We've gone through elementary school together as a team. We helped each other with our homework, played at recess, and just had so much fun learning together over the years. I'll never forget the memories we made.I'll never forget the proud feeling when I finally grasped a tricky math concept or read my first long chapter book all by myself. All that hard work paid off in the end. And now here we are, graduating from elementary school!Just think about all the amazing things we've learned and experienced over the past six years. We went on so many cool field trips - like to the science museum, the art gallery, and the play about the Revolutionary War. We put on incredible performances for our parents, with musical shows, talent shows, and class plays. We joined clubs and played sports, discovering our passions along the way. Most importantly, we learned how to be good students and good people. We practiced important values like kindness, honesty, respect, and perseverance each and every day. Our teachers didn't just teach us academic skills, but also important life lessons.I'll never forget the day we learned about giving back to our community. Our whole class volunteered at the local food bank, sorting and packing food donations. It felt so good to help people in need! Or the time we had a free dress day to raise money for an animal rescue organization. Getting to wear our favorite outfits while doing some good was the best. And thank you to our parents, grandparents, siblings, and everyone else who supported us with homework help, snacks for long study sessions, rides to and from activities, and endless love. We know how lucky we are to have you in our lives. So Class of 2024, we made it! We've reached this huge milestone and will be starting middle school in just a few short months. While I'll miss elementary school, I can't wait to see what the future has in store for all of us.I just know we're going to continue amazing things in middle school, high school, college, and beyond. We are ambitious, hardworking, creative, and kind people. Wherever life takes us next, we'll embrace it with courage and give it our all. The world better watch out, because here we come!Congratulations to the entire 5th grade class! We did it! I'm so proud of each and every one of us for making it to this specialday. Thank you all, and let's celebrate this incredible achievement!篇4Wow, I can't believe we made it to graduation day! When I started kindergarten it felt like this day would never come. Now here we are, all grown up and ready to take on the world of middle school.First, I want to thank all the teachers who got us to this point. Mrs. Johnson, you made learning to read so much fun with all the silly voices you did for the characters in our books. Mr. Lee, your math games were the best - who knew times tables could be so exciting? And Ms. Rodriguez, your art class was my favorite time of the week. You taught us that there are no mistakes in art, only happy accidents. To my fellow students, we've been through so much together these past years. We've learned, played, grown, and become this little family. I'll never forget the day Billy brought in those adorable puppy dog treats for his birthday and we all pretended to be puppies at recess. Or the time our bus got a flat tire on a field trip and we had to wait over an hour to get picked up - we played endless games of I Spy and 21 Questions to passthe time. Who could forget the year the cafeteria started serving those rectangular fruit shaped gummies as a treat on Fridays? We would trade flavors and colors to try to collect them all.Speaking of the cafeteria, who can name all the fun flavors of milk they served? There was of course regular, chocolate, and strawberry. But then they added banana, root beer, orange cream, and that ever popular, yet extremely questionable "blue" flavor. We spent so many recesses coming up with theories about what it could possibly be made of to taste so weird. The playground itself provided endless entertainment and games. There were running clubs at every recess, whether it was the classic games of tag and freeze dance, or the more creative universes we invented like "star wars planets" where different parts of the playground represented different planets to battle on. Many physically impossible swinging tricks were attempted on the swingsets, everything from jumping off at the peak to see who could swing highest, to the ill-fated donkey kicks. Let's have a moment of silence for all the pants that didn't survive recess...Then there was the great HandGame.exe war of third grade, when we were all absolutely consumed by trying to master "Miss Mary Mack," the Cup Game, and all the other hand clapping chants and games. We even started having hand gamecompetitions at lunch to see who was the fiercest hand gamer around. Good times.Who could forget our very serious venetian blinds business in second grade? We would collect the blinds that fell off the classroom windows, then take orders from other students for specific colors and lengths to make jewelry and other crafts. We were tiny entrepreneurs who did a surprisingly high volume of blinds trading each week. There are so many silly little traditions and memories that made our time in elementary so special and fun. The way we would beg the teacher on Fridays for the videos that had 15-20 minutes of pure unadulterated popsicle stick sticks joke telling. Or how we convinced the A/V squad to play the same baby shark video loop for every morning video announcement, which they did for an impressive 3 months straight. Don't even get me started on the great desk plate controversy of 2018, when they threatened to take away our rights to the plastic desk plates. The protests were... passionate. We made it through every hands-on science experiment fair, every mile run, every multiplication tables competition, every forced-quiet reading period. We made forts out of freshly sharpened pencil shavings at our desks, more ketchup wassmeared around the cafeteria than any of us would like to admit to, and we pulled off some surprisingly elaborate pranks under the radar of our poor, unsuspecting teachers.Thank you to our families, who helped us with the endless supplies, projects, snacks and support to make it through these transformative years. We couldn't have made it without all your love and encouragement. Our cute kidisms, strange language mixes of Spanish and English, and goofy jokes always put a smile on your faces, even when you didn't fully understand what we meant. You helped make our elementary days so warm and carefree. So here's to us, the crazy, creative, energetic class of 2024! We laughed more than we cried, we played more than we worked, and we experienced the magic of childhood in a million little ways each day. While I'll miss the simplicity of elementary days, I know we're all ready for our next adventures. Middle school, here we come!篇5My Big Graduation DayWow, I can't believe this day is finally here - my graduation from elementary school! It feels like just yesterday I was a tinylittle kid walking through those big front doors for the very first time on my first day of kindergarten. I was so nervous and my stomach had a million butterflies fluttering around in it. Would I make friends? Would I like my teacher? What if I got lost? So many worries for a little 5-year-old!But as soon as I stepped into my kindergarten classroom, Mrs. Lopez had the biggest smile and made me feel right at home. The bright colors, toys, books, and smiling faces of my new classmates put my fears at ease. From that very first day, I knew I was going to love school.Over the next six years, I learned so much and made so many amazing memories. Like the time we went on a field trip to the science museum and got to make our own lava lamps. Or when we read the book "Where the Wild Things Are" and made our own wild thing mask creations with fur, googly eyes, and feathers. So fun!Our class went through so much together over the years. We lost some teeth, got new haircuts, grew a whole foot taller, and basically transformed from kids into little young adults right before each other's eyes. We supported each other through good times and bad, like when Jeremy's parents got divorced or when Mrs. Baker had her baby and was out for awhile. Some pretty crazy things happened too, like the time a stray raccoon got into the building and we had to evacuate. Or when the tornado sirens went off during gym class and we all had to take cover in the hallway. Looking back, elementary school was one wild ride!Through it all, the teachers and staff at Oakdale Elementary were always there for us with endless patience, kindness, and encouragement. They taught us so much more than just reading, writing, and arithmetic. We learned important life lessons about being a good friend, having empathy for others, respecting differences, and believing in ourselves. Thanks to their guidance, we're all ready to go out into the world and keep learning and growing.I'll never forget the day we found out we were finally going to get to have an overnight field trip in 5th grade. A two-day camping adventure with hiking, campfires, and sleeping in cabins with all our best friends? Could it get any better than that? We had been looking forward to that trip for years and it did not disappoint. From telling ghost stories around the campfire to going swimming in the cool, refreshing lake, it was an experience I'll never forget. That trip almost didn't happen for me though when I broke my arm falling off the monkey bars a few weeks before. But my grandmother came through in the clutch, volunteering to be a chaperone so I could still go with my bright pink cast. Grandma made sure I could still do everything and have an amazing time, which made the trip that much more special. As I stand here today, diplomas in hand, I'm hit with all the feelings. Sadness at saying goodbye to my childhood home of the past six years and all the teachers who have had such an enormous impact on my life. Excitement for the future and all the new adventures that await in middle school and beyond. Above all, I feel immense gratitude for this incredible elementary school experience that has helped shape the person I am today. To my fellow graduates, I say congratulations! We worked so hard to make it to this milestone and should be extremely proud of ourselves. The friendships and memories we made here will last forever. No matter where life takes us next, we'll always have Oakdale Elementary to look back on with big smiles.Thank you to every single teacher, staff member, parent and volunteer who made our elementary days so special and enriching. Thank you for believing in us, nurturing us, andpreparing us to go out into the world as kind, curious, confident individuals. We're going to miss you!I have no doubt that this class is going to go on to accomplish huge things. We're all little sponges who soak up knowledge and have been instilled with a lifelong love of learning. With the firm foundation we've been given, the sky is the limit for our futures. Just look out world, here we come!篇6Graduation SpeechWow, what a big day this is! I can't believe we're actually graduating from elementary school. It seems like just yesterday we were those tiny little kids walking through these doors for the first time on our very first day of kindergarten.Do you remember how scared and excited we all were back then? The school looked so huge! The hallways seemed to go on forever and the older kids towered over us like giants. But we had our teachers to look out for us and help us find our way around. They made us feel safe and ready to start learning. Those first few weeks of kindergarten were pretty crazy though, right? We had to learn all the rules - how to walk quietlyin the hallway in a line, how to raise our hand to speak, when to go to recess and lunch. And we couldn't forget our number for the lunch line or we might get the last scoops of mystery mush!Speaking of lunch, wasn't it just the best when we got to go through the lunch line on our own for the first time without our kindergarten teachers? We felt like such big kids, even if we did sometimes end up with a tray of all desserts when the lunch ladies weren't watching closely. As the years went on, we mastered the skills of being students. We learned to read, write, add, subtract, spell, and eventually even code on the classroom computers. We made incredible projects for the science fair, putting our creativity and critical thinking to the test. We read cherished books, seen fantastic plays, and went on exciting field trips that brought our lessons to life. We'll never forget that time we all overslept during the overnight field trip at the science museum. The chaperone teachers were frantic trying to round everyone up to the bus on time. Or that school play when Thomas accidentally ripped his trousers right at the climax of the big dance scene! We all worked so hard on that play and dances to celebrate worldcultures. Nothing was going to stop us from putting on a great show!Do you remember all the crazy things we tried on the playground too? There were the summers we spent attempting to create palm tree designs in the woodchips with our hands and feet. Or that huge snowball fight in third grade when the teachers ran out to call the whole thing off because we were getting a little too ruthless and someone ended up with a bloody nose! Fourth grade brought that huge double-twist-flip craze on the monkey bars that landed half the grade in the nurse's office with minor injuries. You have to admit though, it felt like the coolest thing ever to pull off that double flip successfully. We've been through so much together at this school. We built incredible friendships that will last forever. We shed tears when our favorite teachers moved away, and laughed countless times at each other's jokes and pranks. We fought and made up as many times as we got detention for passing notes or talking too much in class. No matter what, we had each other's backs. That's what makes our bond as a class so strong and special. As I stand up here looking at all your shining, smiling faces, I feel so incredibly proud of each and every one of you, my friends. We've come so far since those intimidating first days ofkindergarten. Over the course of our elementary school years, we've grown exponentially, both as students and as human begins. We've laughed, played, learned, fought, cried, and developed rock-solid character together. While I'll dearly miss this place that helped shape us from children into capable young people ready to take on the world, I can't wait to see what's next. Middle school will be a fresh start, with new subjects, new teachers, new friends, and new challenges to conquer. Just imagine the adventures that lie ahead! But wherever we go and whatever the future holds, we'll always have the foundation of this elementary school experience to look back on. These have been some of the most fun, rewarding, meaningful, and memory-filled years of our lives so far. Thank you for being my friends and classmates through it all.I can't wait to see what each of you will go on to accomplish and become.Congratulations graduates! We made it! Now, let's go and take on the world.。

毕业演讲稿英语版(精选8篇)毕业英语版篇1Dear schoolmates,亲爱的同学们,As I am graduating, I'd like to write this letter to express my feelings before leaving school. Looking back to the past three years, I find that I have become more mature. I have been aware of the importance of learning knowledge, which is beneficial to my future. What impressed me a lot is the help that my teachers and parents offered when I was in trouble, which supported me during the period. Moreover, I regretted that I didn't work harder. From time to time, facing the pressure, I quarreled with my parents, about which I feel sorry and regretful. To live up to my parents' expectation, I will make my effort to work harder in university. It is no doubt that there will be many challenges waiting for me. However, no matter how difficult it is, I will spare no effort to overcome it.我即将毕业了,在我离开学校之前,我写下这封信来表达我的感情。

毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇1I am honoured to be at the Royal Hospital today as your reviewing officer once again, on this the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.Not only is today a prominent historical occasion, it is also a special day in the Royal Hospital calendar –bringing together families, old friends and the chance to make new ones. Both your founder King Charles II, and Sir Christopher Wren himself would be delighted to know that the institution which opened its doors to the first Pensioners over 325 years ago, continues to fulfil its original purpose of giving exceptional care to soldiers in retirement.Theyd also be amused to hear about the late-night cricket in the hallways! Much less the serenading by Colin, who I am told is Royal Variety standard, but lets assume they havent seen your synchronised buggy drill quite yet!Now I stand here before you to not only acknowledge the incredible contribution you have made to this nation, but to acknowledge that you, my friends, are also seriously good fun to be around!毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇2Taken together, these four elements of Beyond Carbon will be the largest coordinated assault on the climate crisis that ourcountry has ever undertaken.Thank you. We will work to empower and expand the volunteers and activists fighting these battles community by community, state by state. It’s a process that our foundation and I have proved can succeed. After all, this isn’t the first time we’ve done an end run around Washington.A decade ago, no one would have believed that we could take on the coal industry and close half of all U.S. plants, but we have.A decade ago, no one would have believed we could take on the NRA and pass stronger gun safety laws in states like Florida, Colorado, and Nevada, but we have. Two decades ago, no one would have believed that we could take on the tobacco industry and spread New York City’s smoking ban to most of America and to countries around the world, but we have. And now, we will take on the fossil fuel industry to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy. I believe we will succeed again – but only if one thing happens, and that is: you have to help lead the way by raising your voices, by joining an advocacy group, by knocking on doors, by calling your elected officials, by voting, and getting your friends and family to join you.Back in the 1960s, when scientists here at MIT were racing to the moon, there was a populist saying that went: if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. Today, Washington is a very, very big part of the problem.毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇3Third, we will support our most powerful allies – governors, mayors, and legislators – in their pursuit of ambitious policies andlaws. And we will empower the grassroots army of activists and environmental groups that are currently driving progress state by state.Together, we will push for new incentives and mandates that increase renewable power, pollution-free buildings, waste-free energy, access to mass transit, and sales of electric vehicles, which are now turning the combustion engine – and all of its pollution – into a relic of the Industrial Revolution.Fourth, and finally, we will get deeply involved in elections across the country, because climate change is now first and foremost a political problem, not a scientific quandary or even a technological puzzle. Now, I know that, as scientists and engineers, “politics” can be a dirty word. I’m an engineer –I get it. But I’m also a realist, so I have three words for you: get over it.毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇4my dear teachers and classmates ,good evening!today i stand here to stand for all our graduates to say good bye to our beloved school ,to this unforgettable memory and to our dear teachers and classmates .and this is the time to say thank you to all my teachers .how time flies ,it has been 3 years since we entered the school .but there are so many things is worth to cherishing ,such as the bright classroom ,tall trees and beautiful flowers .we spent these 3 years with hardship and happiness ,fully and meaningful ,sorrow and happy and during this time we learned a lot . up to now ,we not only learned chinese , maths, physics ,chemistry, but also learned how to write articles etc .above all ,it makes me know what is love.it is the result of ourteachers hardworking .even though we will left our mother school ,we will never give up receiving advanced education .take it easy ,my dear teachers !i wont let you in the future.Thank you!毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇5So today, I’m happy to announce that, with our foundation, I’m committing $500 million to the launch of a new national climate initiative, and I hope that you will all become part of it. We are calling it Beyond Carbon. The last one was Beyond Coal, this is Beyond Carbon because we have greater goals. Our goal is to move the U.S. towards a 100% cleaner energy economy as expeditiously as possible, and begin that process right now. We intend to succeed not by sacrificing things we need, but by investing in things we want: the more good jobs, cleaner air and water, cheaper power, more transportation options, and less congested roads that we can get.毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇6Instead of challenging Americans to believe in our ability to master the universe, as President Kennedy did, the current administration is pandering to the skeptics who, in the 1960s, looked at the space program and only saw short-term costs and long-term benefits.President Kennedy’s era earned the nickname, ‘The Greatest Generation’ –not only because they persevered through the Great Depression and won the Second World War. They earned it because of determination to rise, to pioneer, to innovate, and to fulfill the promise of American freedom. They dreamed in moonshots. They reached for the stars. And they began to redeem – through the Civil Rights Movement – the failures of the past. They set the standard for leadership andservice to our nation’s ideals. Now, your generation has the opportunity to join them in the history books. The challenge that lies before you –stopping climate change – is unlike any other ever faced by humankind. The stakes could not be higher. If left unchecked, the climate change crisis threatens to destroy oceanic life that feeds so many people on this planet. It threatens to breed war by spreading drought and hunger. It threatens to sink coastal communities, devastate farms and businesses, and spread disease.毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇7you all are leaving your alma mater now. i have no gift to present you all except a piece of advice.what i would like to advise is that "don’t give up your study." most of the courses you have taken are partly for your certificate. you had no choice but to take them. from now on, you may study on your own. i would advise you to work hard at some special field when you are still young and vigorous. your youth will be gone that will never come back to you again. when you are old, and when your energy are getting poorer, you will not be able to as you wish to. even though you have to study in order to make a living, studies will never live up to you. making a living without studying, you will be shifted out in three or five years. at this time when you hope to make it up, you will say it is too late. perhaps you will say, "after graduation and going into the society, we will meet with an urgentproblem, that is, to make a living. for this we have no time to study. even though we hope to study, we have no library nor labs, how can we study further?"i would like to say that all those who wait to have a librarywill not study further even though they have one and all these who wait to have a lab will not do experiments even though they have one.when you have a firm resolution and determination to solve a problem, you will naturally economize on food and clothing.as for time, i should say it’s not a problem. you may know that every day he could do only an hour work, not much more than that because darwin was ill for all his life. you must have read hisachievements. every day you spend an hour in reading 10 useful pages, then you will read more than 3650 pages every year. in 30 years you will have read 110,000 pages.my fellow students, reading 110,000 pages will make you a scholar. but it will take you an hour to read three kinds of small-sized newspapers and it will take you an hour and a half to play fourrounds of mahjian pieces. reading small-sized newspapers or playing mahjian piec es, or working hard to be a scholar? it’s up to you all. henrik ibsen said, "it is your greatest duty to make yourself out."studying is then as tool as casting. giving up studying will destroy yourself.i have to say goodbye to you all. your alma mater will open her eyes to see what you will be in 10 years. goodbye!毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇8Dear teachers and studentshello everyone! The years are in a hurry, and the flowers are blooming and falling. In a twinkling of an eye, the words of six years of primary school students have passed like clouds. However, my heart isstill very attached to my alma mater. One of them didn't pay attention and was knocked down. The teacher not only didn't say that I was useless, but also encouraged me all the time, saying that you will get good results in the next race. I also want to get good grades very much. I'm born without motor cells. No matter how I practice, I can't even get up. In sports, I may be a Dou that I can't help.Goodbye, dear alma mater, the past events in your arms arestill fresh in my mind. They are the shining pearls in our memory warehouse; In your arms, we become sensible from ignorance; In your arms, we grow from childish to mature; In your arms, we have changed from timidity to bravery. Dear students, please remember that we are together bit by bit, day and night, let our friendship last forever.毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇9Thank you very much, Margaret, for that very generous introduction.First, let me say congratulations to our graduates. Welcome back to our alumni. Good afternoon to everyone –colleagues and friends, and family members, loved ones, and our most special guest –our eminent speaker. It’s a pleasure to address you this afternoon and to offer a few reflections as I approach the end of my first year as president.I realize, however, that I’m literally the last thing standing between you and the speech that you’ve all actually come here to hear. So, while I can’t promise to be mesmerizingly eloquent, I can at least promise to be mercifully brief. We gather this afternoon buoyed by the aspirations of our graduates –some 7,100 people who have distinguished themselves in nearly every field and every discipline imaginable. We welcome them into the venerable ranks of our alumni, and we send them forth into a world that is very much in need of both their minds and their hearts.毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇10Dear leaders, teachers, parents and friends, dear childrenGood afternoon, everyone! After fiveyears of hard work, the students here have successfully completed their primary school study. Looking back on the past five years, it seems that it happened yesterday, and every teacher will never forget: the first time you walked into the beautiful and tidy dormitory, lying on the comfortable cot, that excited look; When you first put on the red scarf under the bright national flag, you look solemn; After your own extracurricular learning, you can show your artistic talents on the stage; You use your diligence to repay the teachers' fruitful results: in all kinds of competitions held throughout the country, you have achieved good results many times and won many praises for the school! In the past five years, in the fertile soil of Nanshan bilingual school primary school, with the care of school leaders and the careful cultivation of teachers, and with the active cooperation and strong support of parents, you have grown into a vigorous youth.School is not only the cradle of your growth, you are here to fly the ideal, sowing hope. But today, you are going to bid farewell to your alma mater. The teacher sincerely hopes that you can open up a new situation in the new semester and write yourwonderful learning life with a never say die self-confidence! Bill Gates, the king of computer software, once said: "the secret of my success is not to do something, but to understand what I don't do..." so the teacher hopes that you can distinguish right from wrong, abide by the law, make good use of your words and deeds, and be an upright person. The reason why eagles fly high and fly freely in the blue sky is that they have a pair of hard wings that have been honed by storms, cold and heat. May you fly high bravely like eagles to welcome a brighter tomorrow and embrace the more dazzling sun. Finally, I hope you can use the green of youth to brew a rich golden autumn in the future!I wish you success in your studies and a bright future!毕业典礼英语演讲稿篇12同学们,老师们,各位家长:大家下午好!Ladies and Gentlemen:Good afternoon! Today we get together to have the graduation ceremony and say farewell to the graduated students of 2011. 毕业发言稿英文
Good morning/afternoon/evening! Today, as we stand on the threshold of a new chapter in our lives, I am honored to have the opportunity to address you all. The air is filled with a mix of excitement, nostalgia, and a sense of accomplishment. It is with great pride and gratitude that I stand before you today to share my thoughts and reflections on this momentous occasion.First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to my professors, mentors, and classmates for the incredible journey we have embarked upon together. This journey has not only shaped my academic and intellectual growth but has also enriched my character and perspective on life.As we reflect on our time at this esteemed institution, it is impossible not to acknowledge the challenges we have faced. The rigorous academic standards, the relentless pursuit of knowledge, and the constant push to excel have undoubtedly tested our resilience and determination. However, it is precisely these challenges that have prepared us for the real-world ahead.During our time here, we have been exposed to a diverse range ofsubjects and ideas, stretching our minds and broadening our horizons. We have learned to think critically, analyze complex problems, and communicate effectively. These skills are not only essential for our future careers but also for our personal growth and development. As we move forward, it is important to remember that our education does not end with the conferring of degrees. The learning process is an ongoing journey, and we must continue to seek knowledge, embrace new experiences, and challenge ourselves. The world is constantly evolving, and we must be adaptable and open-minded to thrive in this ever-changing landscape. In addition to our academic achievements, I believe it is crucial to acknowledge the personal growth we have experienced during our time here. We have learned to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and develop strong interpersonal skills. These skills are invaluable in bothour personal and professional lives, as they enable us to build meaningful relationships and contribute positively to our communities. As we stand on the brink of our future, it is natural to feel a mix of excitement and apprehension. The unknown can be daunting, but it is also filled with opportunities for growth and discovery. We must embrace this uncertainty with courage and determination, knowing that we have been well-prepared for the challenges ahead. In the spirit of reflection, I would like to share a few thoughts that have guided me throughout my time at this institution:1. Embrace failure: Failure is not the end but rather a stepping stone towards success. Each failure teaches us valuable lessons and helps us grow stronger. Do not be afraid to take risks and step out of your comfort zone.2. Cultivate gratitude: Gratitude is a powerful force that can transform our lives. Take the time to appreciate the people and experiences that have shaped you, and express your gratitude to those who have supported you along the way.3. Stay true to yourself: In a world that constantly tries to mold us into something we are not, it is crucial to stay true to our values and beliefs. Remember who you are and what you stand for, and let that guide your decisions and actions.4. Give back: We have been fortunate to receive an excellent education and opportunities to grow. It is our responsibility to give back to our communities and help those in need. By doing so, we can create a more just and equitable world. As we leave this institution, we carry with us a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experiences. It is now our turn to make a positive impact on the world. We have the power to shape our future and the future of those around us.In conclusion, I want to encourage each and every one of you to embrace this new chapter with confidence and determination. Remember that youare capable of achieving greatness, and that your journey is just beginning. Stay curious, stay connected, and stay true to yourself. To my fellow graduates, let us take this moment to celebrate our achievements, honor our friends and family, and look forward to the incredible opportunities that lie ahead. As we embark on this new journey, let us remember that we are not alone. We have each other, and together, we can achieve anything.Thank you, and congratulations to the Class of [Year]![Your Name]。

毕业典礼上的英文演讲稿1Dear professors and dear friends of China Jiliang University, I’m honored to address you on behalf of all the graduations this year.I would like to thank my parents, classmates, and friends who helped us ,and encouraged and supported us as we worked towards to our graduate degrees.I also want to thank Jiliang’s faculty members who served as our instructors, mentor, and friends, relatives, like Prof.Yu, Prof.Gao, Mrs. Liang. Through their commitments, they have inspired us to achieve and guided us to our dream. On this stage, at my graduation ceremony, when I look back my four years at Jiliang, my mind is filled with memories. May be you will ask me: do you have special to share? Yes, I want to share few simple but critical suggestions with you and with for the coming juniors:First, be work hard and think smart.Secondly, believe things happened for a reason.Thirdly, just as Jobs said at the graduation ceremony in Stanford University, stay hungry, stay foolish.Today, we will graduate from China Jiliang University, but we will be with Jiliang forever. Let us think forward and work together to make the new history of China Jiliang University.Thank you.毕业典礼上的英文演讲稿2Unlike any other creature on this planet, humans can learn and understand, without having experienced. They can think themselves into other people’s minds, imagine themselves into other people’s places.Of course, this is a power, like my brand of fictional magic, that is morally neutral. One might use such an ability to manipulate, or control, just as much as to understand or sympathise. And many prefer not to exercise their imaginations at all. They choose to remain comfortably within the bounds of their own experience, never troubling to wonder how it would feel to have been born other than they are. They can refuse to hear screams or to peer inside cages; they can close their minds and hearts to any suffering that does not touch them personally; they can refuse to know.I might be tempted to envy people who can live that way, except that I do not think they have any fewer nightmares than I do. Choosing to live in narrow spaces can lead to a form of mental agoraphobia, and that brings its own terrors. I think the wilfully unimaginative see more monsters. They are often more afraid. What is more, those who choose not to empathize may enable real monsters. For without ever committing an act of outright evil ourselves, we collude with it, through our own apathy. One of the many things I learned at the end of that Classics corridor down which I ventured at the age of 18, in search of something I could not then define, was this, written by the Greekauthor Plutarch: What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality. That is an astonishing statement and yet proven a thousand times every day of our lives. It expresses, in part, our inescapable connection with the outside world, the fact that we touch other people’s lives simply by existing. But how much more are you, Harvard graduates of 2008, likely to touch other people’s lives? Your intelligence, your capacity for hard work, the education you have earned and received, give you unique status, and unique responsibilities. Even your nationality sets you apart. The great majority of you belong to the world’s only remaining superpower. The way you vote, the way you live, the way you protest, the pressure you bring to bear on your government, has an impact way beyond your borders. That is your privilege, and your burden. If you choose to use your status and influence to raise your voice on behalf of those who have no voice; if you choose to identify not only with the powerful, but with the powerless; if you retain the ability to imagine yourself into the lives of those who do not have your advantages, then it will not only be your proud families who celebrate your existence, but thousands and millions of people whose reality you have helped transform for the better. We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.I am nearly finished. I have one last hope for you, which is something that I already had at 21. The friends with whom I sat on graduation day have been my friends for life. They are my children’s godparents, the people to whom I’ve been able to turn in times of trouble, friends who have been kind enough notto sue me when I’ve used their names for Death Eaters. At our graduation we were bound by enormous affection, by our shared experience of a time that could never come again, and, of course, by the knowledge that we held certain photographic evidence that would be exceptionally valuable if any of us ran for Prime Minister. So today, I can wish you nothing better than similar friendships. And tomorrow, I hope that even if you remember not a single word of mine, you remember those of Seneca, another of those old Romans I met when I fled down the Classics corridor, in retreat from career ladders, in search of ancient wisdom:毕业典礼上的英文演讲稿3You must believe in yourself and in your work. When our first Batman movie broke all those box-office records, I received a phone call from that United Artists exec who, years before, had told me I was out of my mind. Now he said, “Michael, Im just calling to congratulate you on the success of Batman. I always said you were a visionary.” You see the poin t here —dont believe them when they tell you how bad you are or how terrible your ideas are, but also, dont believe them when they tell you how wonderful you are and how great your ideas are. Just believe in yourself and youll do just fine. And, oh yes, dont then forget to market yourself and your ideas. Use both sides of your brain. You must have a high threshold for frustration. Take it from the guy who was turned down by every studio in Hollywood. You must knock on doors until your knuckles bleed. Doors will slam in your face. You must pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and knock again. Its the only way to achieve your goals in life.毕业典礼上的英文演讲稿4Sheryl Sandberg told a graduating class of TsinghuaUniversity that great leaders want genuine enthusiasm, something she said her late husband, Dave Goldberg, always had.
Soon after, we are about to end six years of primary school life, time passed quickly, quickly to inadvertently blink, time slipped away.Six years of time, we have experienced too much, too much. From the first grade to the sixth grade when the spring, when Qiu scarred. Maybe someone will say, six years is too long. But for me, six years, say not long, say short and not short.Just like a boat in the waves, we fight hard in the waves. Just like the birds in the storm, we are not afraid of wind and rain. Just like horses that are hindered in running, they can always get overobstacles and continue to run. But, our side, always the hard work of the teacher. Teachers, like our mother at school, give us the warmest care all the time, guiding us to travel in the ocean of knowledgeall the time. The teacher taught us too much.In these six years, I have experienced the warmth of my classmates and gave me too much help. I can't bear to be reluctant to give up classmates for six years. I can't bear my beloved teacher; I can't bear my little things in primary school life; I cannot afford to lose my friendship with my friends. Not so much, too much, only to make them sweet dew, slowly, nourishing yourheart. I will never forget you, because of you,I become a a young spark from an ignorant child.I must remember this paragraph, say not long, sayshort and short memory.英语作文毕业感言格式演讲稿(精选篇2)Finally, "to be in this day to fly to their respective world" no time to listen to the song with some sad, because I am about to graduate, some person is very happy to graduate, because they are free. For me... One night I was sitting in my bedroom. I sat there all night and didn't know what to do. I knew everyonewould be happy on graduation day, but it was all superficial.Maybe I think too much of myself, maybe I should be more serious and work harder to face the future. And not in this daze... But after all three years together. Every happy moment in three years has come to my eyes. Well -- too much thinking. Now you should be more concerned about the mid-term exam, because it will be like what our teacher said -- a turning point in life. It's time to graduate. I should be happy or worried. The word suddenly cameinto being. Why do I worry? I should try to meet the Chinese test!!Now the mood is disorderly, perhaps is oneself too much think. Think, dizzy, the person is always unconsciously old think. In this case, why don't yougraduate earlier? Of course, think slowly. Because I can spend more time thinking about the happy three years; Because I can spend more time to review, prepare for the exam; Because I can get a little more...Suddenly find oneself tired, almost forgot. I have a lot of homework to do.Graduation! Graduation!英语作文毕业感言格式演讲稿(精选篇3)Time flies, imperceptibly, you through the junior middle school three years of study and life。
毕业主题的英语演讲稿范文
Ladies and Gentlemen, esteemed faculty, proud parents, and fellow graduates,Good morning/afternoon/evening. It is with great honor and a mix of emotions that I stand before you today to address this esteemed assembly. Today, we gather to celebrate the culmination of our academic journey, a journey that has been filled with challenges, triumphs, and countless moments of growth. As we stand on the threshold of a new chapter, I want to share some thoughts on the path ahead and the legacy we are about to leave behind.Firstly, let me express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported us along the way. To our parents, who have been our rock and our cheerleaders, thank you for your unwavering love and support. To our teachers, who have guided us through the complexities of knowledge and life, your dedication has been a beacon of inspiration. To our friends, who have shared laughter and tears with us, your friendship has been a source of strength. And to ourselves, for the resilience and determination to reach this milestone, we commend you.As we reflect on our time at this institution, it is impossible not to acknowledge the incredible opportunities and experiences that have shaped us into the individuals we are today. From the rigorous academic pursuits that have honed our critical thinking skills, to the extracurricular activities that have fostered our passions and talents, this journey has been a tapestry of diverse threads that have woven together to create a unique masterpiece. One of the most significant lessons I have learned during my time hereis the power of adaptability. The world is constantly changing, and with it, the demands placed upon us. We have been taught to embrace change,to be flexible, and to pivot when necessary. This adaptability willserve us well as we step into the unknown that lies ahead. As we prepare to embark on our individual journeys, it is crucial to remember the importance of purpose. We have all been taught to strivefor excellence, but excellence without purpose is like a ship without a compass. We must find our calling, the reason that drives us to wake upeach morning and pursue our dreams. Whether it be to make a differencein the world, to contribute to a specific field, or to simply live a fulfilling life, purpose will be our guiding star.In the pursuit of our goals, it is equally important to cultivate resilience. Life will not always be smooth sailing; there will be storms, challenges, and setbacks. But it is our ability to persevere through these tough times that defines us. Resilience is not the absence of failure, but the courage to rise from it. As we navigate thecomplexities of the future, let us remember that our strength lies notin the absence of obstacles, but in our ability to overcome them.Furthermore, we must embrace the power of empathy and compassion. In an increasingly interconnected world, our ability to understand and carefor others will be the cornerstone of our success. It is through empathy that we can bridge divides, foster collaboration, and build stronger communities. Let us carry this spirit of kindness and understanding into our future endeavors. As we leave this institution, we carry with us a wealth of knowledge, experiences, and memories. But it is the lessons we have learned thatwill truly shape our future. Here are a few that I believe are worth mentioning:1. The importance of self-awareness: We must understand our strengthsand weaknesses, and be willing to learn and grow from them.2. The value of collaboration: No man is an island, and by working together, we can achieve greatness.3. The power of perseverance: The road to success is often filled with obstacles, but it is our determination that will carry us through.4. The significance of gratitude: We should always be thankful for the opportunities and blessings that come our way.As we stand on the precipice of a new era, let us not forget the legacy we are about to leave behind. Let us be the architects of a better future, one that is characterized by innovation, compassion, andprogress. Let us be the generation that dares to dream big, to take risks, and to make a lasting impact. In closing, I want to leave you with a quote from the great Nelson Mandela: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Today, we are equipped with this powerful weapon. Let us use it wisely, let us use it to create a brighter tomorrow.Congratulations, Class of [Year]. The future is ours to shape, and together, we will make it extraordinary.Thank you.。

毕业典礼英文演讲稿篇1you all are leaving your alma mater now. i have no gift to present you all except a piece of advice.what i would like to advise is that "don’t give up your study." most of the courses you have taken are partly for your certificate. you had no choice but to take them. from now on, you may study on your own. i would advise you to work hard at some special field when you are still young and vigorous. your youth will be gone that will never come back to you again. when you are old, and when your energy are getting poorer, you will not be able to as you wish to. even though you have to study in order to make a living, studies will never live up to you. making a living without studying, you will be shifted out in three or five years. at this time when you hope to make it up, you will say it is too late. perhaps you will say, "after graduation and going into the society, we will meet with an urgent problem, that is, to make a living. for this we have no time to study. even though we hope to study, we have no library nor labs, how can we study further?"i would like to say that all those who wait to have a library will not study further even though they have one and all these who wait to have a lab will not do experiments even though they have one. when you have a firm resolution and determination to solve a problem, you will naturally economize on food and clothing.as for time, i should say it’s not a problem. you may knowthat every day he could do only an hour work, not much more than that because darwin was ill for all his life. you must have read his achievements. every day you spend an hour in reading 10 useful pages, then you will read more than 3650 pages every year. in 30 years you will have read 110,000 pages.my fellow students, reading 110,000 pages will make you a scholar. but it will take you an hour to read three kinds of small-sized newspapers and it will take you an hour and a half to play four rounds of mahjian pieces. reading small-sized newspapers or playing mahjian pieces, or working hard to be a scholar? it’s up to you all.henrik ibsen said, "it is your greatest duty to make yourself out."studying is then as tool as casting. giving up studying will destroy yourself.i have to say goodbye to you all. your alma mater will open her eyes to see what you will be in 10 years. goodbye!毕业典礼英文演讲稿篇2i take with me the memory of friday afternoon acm happy hours, known not for kegs of beer, but rather bowls of rainbow sherbet punch. over the several years that i attended these happy hours they enjoyed varying degrees of popularity, often proportional to the quality and quantity of the accompanying refreshments - but there was always the rainbow sherbert punch.i take with me memories of purple parking permits, the west campus shuttle, checking my pendaflex, over-due library books, trying to print from cec, lunches on delmar, friends who slept in their offices, miniature golf in lopata hall, the greenway talk, division iii basketball, and trying to convince dean russel that yet another engineering school rule should be changed.some advice. what would a graduation speech be without a little advice, right? anyway, this advice comes in the form of a verse delivered to the 1977 graduating class of lake forest college by theodore seuss geisel, better known to the world as dr. seuss - here's how it goes:my uncle ordered popovers from the restaurant's bill of fare. and when they were served, he regarded them with a penetrating stare . . . then he spoke great words of wisdom as he sat there on that chair: "to eat these things," said my uncle, "you must excercise great care. you may swallow down what's solid . . . but . . . you must spit out the air!"and . . . as you partake of the world's bill of fare, that's darned good advice to follow. do a lot of spitting out the hot air. and be careful what you swallow.thank you.毕业典礼英文演讲稿篇3itake with me the memory of friday afternoon acm happy hours, known not for kegs of beer, but rather bowls of rainbow sherbet punch. over the several years that i attended these happy hours they enjoyed varying degrees of popularity, often proportional to the quality and quantity of the accompanying refreshments - but there was always the rainbow sherbert punch.i take with me memories of purple parking permits, the west campus shuttle, checking my pendaflex, over-due library books, trying to print from cec, lunches on delmar, friends who slept in their offices, miniature golf in lopata hall, the greenway talk, division iii basketball, and trying to convince dean russel that yet another engineering school rule should be changed.毕业演讲稿英文some advice. what would a graduation speech be without a little advice, right? 毕业季英语发言稿
Good morning/afternoon! It is with great pleasure and a mix of emotions that I stand before you today to address this esteemed assembly. As we gather here, we mark the culmination of our academic journey, a journey that has been both challenging and rewarding. Today, we celebrate the culmination of our efforts, our achievements, and the friendships we have forged along the way. I am honored to have the opportunity to share some thoughts with you on this significant day – our graduation day.Firstly, let me extend my heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of you. This day is a testament to your hard work, perseverance, and dedication. You have come a long way, and your success is a reflection of your commitment to excellence. Whether you have achieved academic greatness or have learned valuable life lessons, you have all earned the right to celebrate this milestone. As we reflect on our time at this esteemed institution, it is important to acknowledge the incredible opportunities that have been madeavailable to us. We have had the privilege of studying under some of the brightest minds in our fields, engaging in groundbreaking research, and participating in numerous extracurricular activities. These experiences have not only enriched our intellectual growth but have also shaped us into well-rounded individuals. One of the most significant lessons I have learned during my time here is the importance of adaptability. The world we live in is constantly changing, and the ability to adapt to new situations is crucial for success. Throughout our academic journey, we have been faced with numerous challenges, from adapting to new teaching methods to navigating the complexities of the real world. These experiences have taught us resilience, and they have prepared us for the future.Another lesson that I believe we have all learned is the power of collaboration. The ability to work effectively with others is essential in today's interconnected world. We have had the opportunity to collaborate on projects, engage in group discussions, and build strong networks of professionals. These experiences have not only enhanced our teamwork skills but have also opened doors to new opportunities. As we prepare to embark on the next chapter of our lives, it is important to remember the importance of personal growth. The pursuit of knowledge is not solely about academic achievements; it is also about developing as individuals. We have been encouraged to explore our passions, challenge our beliefs, and embrace our unique qualities. These experiences have helped us to become more confident, self-aware, and empathetic individuals. Now, as we stand on the precipice of the future, it is natural to feel a sense of uncertainty. The world is vast and full of possibilities, butit also comes with its own set of challenges. As we move forward, let us remember the following pieces of advice:1. Stay true to yourself: It is easy to get caught up in the pursuit of success, but it is important to remember who you are and what you stand for. Stay true to your values and beliefs, and let them guide you through life's journey.2. Embrace change: The world is constantly evolving, and it is essential to be adaptable. Embrace new experiences, be open to learning, and be willing to step out of your comfort zone.3. Value relationships: The people we meet along the way are an integral part of our journey. Invest in your relationships, be kind and compassionate, and remember that true success is measured not by the material wealth we accumulate but by the impact we have on others.4. Stay curious: The pursuit of knowledge is a lifelong journey. Always seek to learn, explore, and grow. Your education is just the beginning, and there is so much more to discover. As we move forward, let us also remember the importance of giving back to our communities. The knowledge and skills we have acquired during our time here can be used to make a positive impact on the world. Whether it is through volunteering, starting a social enterprise, or simply being a good neighbor, let us use our talents to make a difference. In conclusion, today is a day of celebration, reflection, and anticipation. We have come a long way, and we have much to be proud of.As we leave this institution, let us carry with us the lessons we have learned, the friendships we have forged, and the dreams we have pursued. To my fellow graduates, I want to say that you are capable of achieving great things. The world is waiting for you to leave your mark, and I have no doubt that you will do so with distinction. Remember to stay true to yourself, embrace change, value relationships, stay curious, and give back to your communities.Congratulations, Class of [Year]. Go forth and make your dreams a reality. The future is bright, and you are the ones who will light the way.Thank you.。

英语作文:毕业演讲稿Faculty, family, friends, and fellow graduates, good evening.I am honored to address you tonight. On behalf of the graduating masters and doctoral students of Washington Universitys School of Engineering and Applied Science, I would like to thank all the parents, spouses, families, and friends who encouraged and supported us as we worked towards our graduate degrees.I would especially like to thank my own family, eight members of which are in the audience today. I would also like to thank all of the department secretaries and other engineering school staff members who always seemed to be there when confused graduate students needed help. And finally I would like to thank the Washington University faculty members who served as our instructors, mentors, and friends. As I think back on the seven-and-a-half years I spent at Washington University, my mind is filled with memories, happy, sad, frustrating, and even humorous.Tonight I would like to share with you some of the memories that I take with me as I leave WashingtonUniversity.I take with me the memory of my office on the fourth floor of Lopata Hall - the room at the end of the hallway that was too hot in summer, too cold in winter, and always too far away from the womens restroom. The window was my offices best feature. Were it not for the physics building across the way, it would have afforded me a clear view of the arch. But instead I got a view of the roof of the physics building. I also had a view of one corner of the roof of Urbauer Hall, which seemed to be a favorite perch for various species of birds who alternately won perching rights for several weeks at a time. And I had a nice view of the physics courtyard, noteworthy as a good place for watching people run their dogs. Its amazing how fascinating these views became the longer I worked on my dissertation. But my favorite view was of a nearby oak tree. From my fourth-floor vantage point I had a rather intimate view of the tree and the various birds and squirrels that inhabit it. Occasionally a bird would land on my window sill, which usually had the effect of startling both of us.I take with me the memory of two young professorswho passed away while I was a graduate student. Anne Johnstone, the only female professor from whom I took a course in the engineering school, and Bob Durr, a political science professor and a member of my dissertation committee, both lost brave battles with cancer. I remember them fondly.I take with me the memory of failing the first exam in one of the first engineering courses I took as an undergraduate. I remember thinking the course was just too hard for me and that I would never be able to pass it. So I went to talk to the professor, ready to drop the class. And he told me not to give up, he told me I could succeed in his class. For reasons that seemed completely ludicrous at the time, he said he had faith in me. And after that my grades in the class slowly improved, and I ended the semester with an A on the final exam. I remember how motivational it was to know that someone believed in me.I take with me memories of the midwestern friendliness that so surprised me when I arrived in St. Louis 8 years ago. Since moving to New Jersey, I am sad to say, nobody has asked me where I went to high school.I take with me the memory of the short-lived computer science graduate student social committee lunches. The idea was that groups of CS grad students were supposed to take turns cooking a monthly lunch. But after one grad student prepared a pot of chicken that poisoned almost the entire CS grad student population and one unlucky faculty member in one fell swoop, there wasnt much enthusiasm for having more lunches.I take with me the memory of a more successful graduate student effort, the establishment of the Association of Graduate Engineering Students, known as AGES. Started by a handful of engineering graduate students because we needed a way to elect representatives to a campus-wide graduate student government, AGES soon grew into an organization that now sponsors a wide variety of activities and has been instrumental in addressing a number of engineering graduate student concerns.I take with me the memory of an Engineering and Policy department that once had flourishing programs for full-time undergraduate, masters, and doctoralstudents.I take with me memories of the 1992 Presidential debate. Eager to get involved in all the excitement I volunteered to help wherever needed. I remember spending several days in the makeshift debate HQ giving out-of-town reporters directions to the athletic complex. I remember being thrilled to get assigned the job of collecting film from the photographers in the debate hall during the debate. And I remember the disappointment of drawing the shortest straw among the student volunteers and being the one who had to take the film out of the debate hall and down to the dark room five minutes into the debate - with no chance to re-enter the debate hall after I left.I take with me memories of university holidays which never seemed to apply to graduate students. I remember spending many a fall break and Presidents Day holiday with my fellow grad students in all day meetings brought to us by the computer science department.I take with me memories of exams that seemed designed more to test endurance and perseverance than mastery of the subject matter. I managed to escapetaking any classes that featured infamous 24-hour-take-home exams, but remember the suffering of my less fortunate colleagues. And what doctoral student could forget the pain and suffering one must endure to survive the qualifying exams?I take with me the memory of the seven-minute rule, which always seemed to be an acceptable excuse for being ten minutes late for anything on campus, but which doesnt seem to apply anywhere else I go.I take with me the memory of Friday afternoon ACM happy hours, known not for kegs of beer, but rather bowls of rainbow sherbet punch. Over the several years that I attended these happy hours they enjoyed varying degrees of popularity, often proportional to the quality and quantity of the accompanying refreshments - but there was always the rainbow sherbert punch.I take with me memories of purple parking permits, the West Campus shuttle, checking my pendaflex, over-due library books, trying to print from cec, lunches on Delmar, friends who slept in their offices, miniature golf in Lopata Hall, The Greenway Talk, division III basketball, and trying to convince DeanRussel that yet another engineering school rule should be changed. Finally, I would like to conclude, not with a memory, but with some advice. What would a graduation speech be without a little advice, right? Anyway, this advice comes in the form of a verse delivered to the 1977 graduating class of Lake Forest College by Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss - Heres how it goes:My uncle ordered popoversfrom the restaurants bill of fare. And when they were served,he regarded themwith a penetrating stare . . .Then he spoke great Words of Wisdomas he sat there on that chair:"To eat these things,"said my uncle,"you must excercise great care. You may swallow down whats solid . . .BUT . . .you must spit out the air!"And . . .as you partake of the worlds bill of fare, thats darned good advice to follow.Do a lot of spitting out the hot air.And be careful what you swallow.Thank you.。
