Then the silence was broken by a deep voice,“You won't give up so easily, will you?”The boy ahead of me turned back and pulled me up. “Let's run to the finishing line together!” The second mile saw its end while we ran shoulder to shoulder. In the last mile, seeings the athletes passing us one by one,I asked the boy to rum without me.“You could win a place if you went by yourself.” I looked at him in the eyes with sweat blurring my sight. Oh, there she is.Text 7M: Welcome to our program, Miss Johnson. Congratulations on winning the Teacher of the Year award.W: Thank you, Peter. I’m more than happy to be here.M: What inspired you to be a teacher, Miss Johnson?W: Well, I’ve always loved to learn, but I’ve enjoyed teaching others even more. It’s in the family.M: Could you tell us what the best part about your job is?W: Getting to know all of the different kids and communicating with them. I have always loved kids. So, I will always enjoy that part of my job.M: Then, what do you hope to achieve by being a teacher?W: My goal is to help my students develop awareness of their strengths, weaknesses, and learning needs, and to enable them to learn throughout their lives.M: That sounds great.Text 8W: Ethan, have you thought about getting your own house?M: Yeah. Right?M: Obviously.W: The only thing I don’t like is that my mom wants to know every part of my life. Becky, what are you doing tomorrow? Where? With whom? The same questions every day.M: Moms are like that. They ask because they care. You’ve got to be patient with them. My parents ask those questions too, but I may not move out soon. All speakers are well-known and knowledgeable in the subject matter. Did you listen to John Miller’s speech on how to avoid business risks this morning?W: No, I missed that one. I went to a speech at Alan Brown Hall. The speaker was David Thompson.M: Oh, that should be a good one, too. I attended his lecture last year. By the way, there will be a workshop this afternoon on how to motivate employees. Are you interested?W: Sure. I was promoted to the position of manager a few months ago. And I have to manage a staff of 12 people. It can be quite a difficult situation sometimes. That’s why I am here today.M: Same here. I only have seven people reporting to me. Yet, sometimes I feel like pulling my hair out. I need to find a way to create harmony within my department.Text 10W: Welcome to Star Fitness Club. I’m Tina Harrison. Before you start, I’d like to offer you some tips. We all know that regular exercise is important, but few of us know how to exercise properly. I’ve seen many people make the same workout mistakes in this place. One mistake people often make is sticking to the same routine. It is not good for building up your muscles. I’d like to suggest that you change your routine every other month. What’s more, you can try different kinds of workouts, such as jogging, biking, or swimming. This can help keep your whole body in shape. Another mistake most people make is to workout intensely almost every day. You need to give your body a break, and allow time for the muscles to grow. It is not the harder the better. Two hard workout days every week is enough. If you really hate to skip a day, you can plan easy exercises on other days. However, experts’ suggestion is that you take one day off completely each week.参考答案(仅供参考):1-5 CACAB6-10 BCABA11-15 CABAC16-20 CBCAB山东2023年高考英语听力考试原文(第2次)Text 1W: Tom, shall we buy a gift for Maggie’s birthday?M: Yes, but I don’t know what she likes.W: Let’s call her roommate, Sofia. After each passage or conversation, you will be asked several questions. The passages and the conversation will be read twice, but the questions will be spoken only once. When you hear a question, read the four possible answers on your paper, and decide which one is the best answer to the question youhave heard.Questions 11 through 13 are based on the following passage.Penang, which is also known as “Pearl of the Orient” in Malaysia, is a food paradise with long white sandy beaches. Malaysia is also famous for its multi-racial culture and warm-hearted people. If you know more about Penang and Malaysia, you’ll be fascinated.Penang needs little introduction to many visitors to Malaysia, having long been known as one of Southeast Asia’s finest destinations. Penang’s outstanding beaches and typical sights have made it one of the most popular destinations in the region. As fascinating as its beaches are, some of Penang’s deeper mysteries should also be experienced. According to the folk tale, the Snake Temple was inhabited by snakes which crawled out of the jungle on the night of the temple’s completion. The snakes are still there today.Other worthwhile stops are the delightful Penang Bird Park at the romantic peak of Penang Hill. You may see monkeys talking in the trees, sea eagles surveying their prey, and maybe you can also have a glimpse of a Hawksbill turtle heading for the sea. Some hotels organize early morning walking through the forest.(Now listen again please.)Questions:11.What would the speaker most probably agree with?12.According to the folk tale, when did the snakes crawl out of the jungle?13.What is the speaker mainly talking about?Questions 14 through 16 are based on the following passage. What does an artist want to do? The job involves creating beauty and dreams.Every artist knows in his heart that he is saying something to the public. Not only does he want to say it well, but he wants it to be something that has not been said before. He hopes the public will listen and understand what he wants to teach, and he wants them to learn from him. What painters want to teach is easy to make out but difficult to explain, because painters translate their experiences into shapes and colors, not words. They seem to feel that a certain selection of shapes and colors, is specially interesting for them and worth showing to us. Without their work we should never have noticed these particular shapes and colors, or have felt the delight which they brought to the artist. Most artists take their shapes and colors from the world or nature and from human bodies in motion and pose; their choices show that these aspects of the world are worth looking at and that they contain beautiful sights. Modern artists might say that they only choose objects that provide an interesting pattern and that there is nothing more in it. Yet they do not choose entirely without reference to the character of their objects.(Now listen again please.)Questions:14. What does an artist hope that the public will do ?15. Why is it hard to explain what painters are saying?16. What is the talk mainly about?Questions 17 through 20 are based on the following conversation.M: Oh, Linda. What are you up to these days? It seems ages since we met in the canteen.W: Hi, Phil. I’m on my way home from work.M: I didn’t know you had a job.W: Yeah, I work part time at a supermarket.M: What do you do there?W: I work in the produce section, wrapping fresh fruit and vegetables. I also put goods on shelves. Sometimes when it really gets busy, I will assist at the check-out counter. Have you got a job, Phil? M: Yeah, I do garden work for people. You know, cutting grass, watering, cleaning leaves, pulling weeds, things like that.W: I’d like doing that. It must be nice to work outdoors.M: Sometimes it is, except when it rains or snows or gets too hot or too cold or...W: I guess every job has its drawbacks. There are times when I get pretty tired of carrying things around at my job. But a job is a job, and on the whole it ensures a great sense of achievement. And you know, I don’t want to burden my parents with the high college fees.M: Me too. Tuition in our college is high, isn’t it? Well, I’d better get going. I’ve got to plant some trees for my neighbors this afternoon.W: All right, see you!M: It is great seeing you, Linda. Bye!(Now listen again, please.)Questions:17. Tape Scripts and AnswersI. Listening ComprehensionSection ADirections: In Section A, you will hear ten short conversations between two speakers. After you hear a conversation and the question about it, read the four possible answers on your paper, and decide which one is the best answer to the question you have heard.1. W: Wow! So many cars here! Is there any room to park our car?M: Oh, it’s not always convenient to have a car. Sometimes parking is really a problem.Q: Where does this conversation probably take place?2. M: Sorry to trouble you. May I have a blanket please? I feel cold.W: Yes, of course, but could you wait until after take-off please?Q: What is the probable relationship between the two speakers?3. W: Have you been wasting your time on those online games again?M: Not really. I’ve worked on my term paper a lot this week and I need a break.Q: What is the man doing now?4. M: I’m leaving now. What do you want me to get?W: Pick up a bottle of milk and a loaf of bread please.Q: Where is the man probably going?5. W: So, how long have you been here in Paris?M: Just a couple of days. I’m on a journey, you know. I’m visiting all the places of interest here.Q: What is the man doing in Paris?6. W: I heard you caught a cold. How are you feeling today?M: I can’t complain. At least I’m out of bed.Q: How is the man today?7. M: Gardening is too much like hard work for me. If I have time, I like to play tennis or go for acountry walk.W: Well, I think of gardening as play, not as work. I’m never as happy as when I’m busy in the garden.Q: What can we learn about the man?8. W: Oh, I think we left that road map at home. Do you know how to get to the beach?M: No, I don’t. But since we haven’t gone very far, we might as well just turn around.Q: What will the speakers probably do?9. M: What do you think of the film we went to last night?W: Oh, the plot was impossible to follow and the acting was awful, especially the leading actor’s.Q: What does the woman think of the film?10. W: I was sorry to hear about Bill’s being fired. I know he was sick a lot and that he usually gotto work late.M: It wasn’t that. He made a big mistake in his financial report, which made his boss very angry.Q: Why did Bill lose his job?Section BDirections: In Section B, you will hear two short passages, and you will be asked three questions on each of the passages. The passages will be read twice, but the questions will be spoken only once. When you hear a question, read the four possible answers on your paper and decide which one would be the best answer to the question you have heard.Questions 11 through 13 are based on the following passage. The variety of food is Britain’s greatest attraction. Nearly every country in the world is represented, and some of the best Indian and Chinese restaurants in the world can be found in cities such as London, Liverpool, Manchester and many others. Fast food restaurants serving pizzas, hamburgers, fish and chips are very convenient for visitors who just want something quick. They usually stay open all day, and welcome children, unlike some restaurants whose main customers are business people.Prices have to be displayed outside restaurants. Set price menus, common in some of the best restaurants at lunchtime, offer good value for money. Most pubs also serve food, especially at lunchtime. This can be cold food such as bread, cheese and salad, or simple hot dished such as chicken and chips. Apart from beer, wine is also available and many pubs now also serve coffee. Wine bars also offer a relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy a good meal. There are many different wines, and the food is usually more complicated than in pubs. (Now listen again, please.)Questions:11. What is great about the food in Britain?12. Where do the restaurants have to display their prices?13. What drink in pubs is not mentioned?Questions 14 through 16 are based on the following passage.Nowadays, how to make a good newspaper story has aroused people’s great interest. Undoubtedly, it is no easy thing. First – obviously – it must be new. But since TV can react to events so quickly, this is often a problem for newspapers. They usually respond to it in one of three ways. Newspapers will provide extra detail, comment or background information. Above all, they will try to find a new angle on the day’s major stories. In addition, they may print completely different stories which TV doesn’t broadcast. What else? Well – it also has to be dramatic and often involves some kind of conflict or danger. This is one reason why so much news seems to be bad news. “Plane lands safely –no-one hurt”doesn’t sell newspapers. “Plane crash – 200 feared dead!” does.Next, there’s human interest. People are interested in other people –particularly in the rich, famous and powerful. Stories about the private lives of pop singers, actors, models, politicians, for example, all appear regularly in certain newspapers. Finally, for many editors, familiarity is an important factor, too. They prefer stories about people, places and events which their readers know. May I speak to Ms Wang, please?W: I’m sorry, but she is not in right now. May I take a message?M: Yes. Ms Wang sent me your newest line of laptop computers with a description of other software products, but there wasn’t any information about after-sales service.W: Oh, I’m sorry. I’ll remind her to fax that to you as soon as possible.M: That’ll be fine. Could you tell her to fax the information around 2:30 this afternoon? That would give me time to look over the material before I report to my boss, say, around 4:00 p.m.W: OK. May I have your telephone number and fax number please?M: Sure. The phone number is 560-1827. The fax number is 560-3631.W: All right. I will tell Ms Wang when she comes back.M: Thank you. Bye.(Now listen again, please)Complete the form. Write ONE WORD for each answer.Blanks 21 through 24 are based on the following conversation.M: Susan, what’s that in your hand?W: Come on, Don. Haven’t you seen a cigarette before? Every day in the United States, about 1500 girls begin smoking, and I figured, why not do my share?M: But don’t you know that tobacco kills more than 140,000 women each year.W: Yeah, but that’s why I smoke light cigarettes.M: But do you know that smoking a light cigarette is just as risky as smoking a regular one?W: I didn’t know that.M: The one thing you can say about tobacco companies is that they are really smart about marketing. Tobacco commercials for men focus on cigarettes as cool, while tobacco commercials for women focus on social and political themes. For example, ads will say that you’ve come a long way, or that you’ve found your voice, or encourage you to just be yourself, as if smoking has anything to do with progress and self-expression.W: So, Don, can you pass me that ashtray?M: With pleasure, Susan, as long as you put it out.(Now listen again, please)Complete the form. They are also called safety belts. Many studies of car accidents have shown that safety belts can really save lives. One study showed that 40% of those killed in car accidents could have been saved if they had been wearing seat belts. Unfortunately, seat belts are worn only by a small percentage of drivers and passengers, about 15%. In order to find out what kind of people do wear seat belts, a study was made in several cities of the USA and Canada. The following facts were learned about those who used their safety belts: They do not smoke while driving; they have had more education than non-users; they know someone who was injured but not killed in a car accident.Advertisements based on these facts have been printed in newspapers and magazines in order to teach people the importance of using seat belts, but these advertisements have not helped much. Some people believe there should be a law requiring drivers and passengers to use safety belts. In Australia, where there is such a law, death in car accidents has decreased by 24%.注:听力试题暂不计入总分。
