教学设计Step1 Warming up and lead-in1.Warming up教师以猜词方式进行热身，介绍猜词竞赛规则，并鼓励学生踊跃参与。
T:Today I have some presents for you. In each present there is a word or a phrase in Unit5 for you to guess. Which group would you like to choose first?[设计意图] 教师以猜词进行热身, 一方面易于检测学生预习情况，另一方面易于调动学生上课的积极性和热情，有利于学生全身心投入到教师活动中，为教师顺利开展课堂教学奠定良好基础。
2. Lead-in教师由猜词(choking, a sprained ankle, a nose bleed) 引出first aid，介绍并让学生齐读first aid的定义。
First aid is a temporary form of help given to someone who suddenly falls ill or gets injured before a doctor can be found.[设计意图] 教师对猜词环节所提供的单词进行了精心的筛选和设计，最后引出first aid，根据学生所给出的英文解释，进而引导学生对所猜单词及短语的几种情况进行急救，学习这几种急救知识。

Step3 While-reading1. Skimming（1）使用思维导图的方式让学生在预习完课文的基础上对文章结构进行段落划分并归纳大意。

（1）教师指导学生思考：明星歌手Selina曾经严重烧伤，如果你在现场的话，应该怎么办呢？以此引出课文的第五部分：First aid treatment T:Let’s come to the fifth part of the text----First aid treatment. Read and try to find the six steps about first aid for burns.让学生对卡片进行排序，然后和对答案。
（2）教师再指导学生细读第五部分并思考：在烧烫伤的急救处理过程中我们需要哪些东西？学生读完之后，教师指导学生进行一个快速判断的小游戏，即：教师给出一个物品名称，让学生回答YES/ NO，以此判断哪些是需要的哪些是不需要的，有疑问的地方进行适当的解释。
（3）接着，为了进一步细致地理解正确恰当的急救措施，教师指导学生进行抢答练习，即：学生听老师亲自录制的句子，然后直接起立抢答判断所给句子中急救措施的正误，并给出合理的解释。

另一方面，进一步指导学生思考：事实上我们是否能避免这些烧烫伤的发生？什么比治疗更重要呢？以此引出“防范于未然”的重要性。
