Programming langguages also called computer languages.There are many kinds of programming languages.we can devide programming languages into three categories : Machine Language,Assembly Language,High-level Language.If we want to control computers,we must give a command to computer by programming languages.

We have listened and learned some common programming languages,for example:BASIC,C,C++, JA V A, SQL and so on.BASIC( Bigginers’All-puepose Symbolic Instruction Code ) is a kind of p rogramming language, it is propared for biginners. C language is very special,it has characteristics of assembly language and high-level language. C++ is a popular language,it is used very widly. JA V A is programming language that we can use it to write cross-platform application softwares. SQL is Structured Query Language,it is a database query and program design language.

The description of a programming language is usually split into the two components of syntax (form) and semantics (meaning). Some languages are defined by a specification document (for example, the C programming language is specified by an ISO Standard), while other languages have a dominant implementation that is treated as a reference.

The first programming languages designed to communicate instructions to a computer were written in the 1950s. An early high-level programming language to be designed for a computer was Plankalkül, developed for the German Z3 by Konrad Zuse between 1943 and 1945. However, it was not implemented until 1998 and 2000.

The earliest programming languages preceded the invention of the digital computer and were used to direct the behavior of machines such as Jacquard looms and player pianos.Thousands of different programming languages have been created, mainly in the computer field, and many more still are being created every year. Many programming languages require computation to be specified in an imperative form (as a sequence of operations to perform), while other languages utilize other forms of program specification such as the declarative form (the desired result is specified, not how to achieve it).
