根据学前儿童教育总目标，我们将学前儿童英语教育的总目标定位在通过英语教育促进幼儿的全面发展，培养幼儿对英语和英语学习的兴趣。
学前儿童英语教育总目标下还包括了“各年龄阶段教育目标”和“英语教育活动目标”两个纵向层次。

一、学前儿童英语教育总目标及其分析
学前儿童英语教育总目标包括以下几个方面：

教育目标是教育活动的起点也是归宿点。英语教育目标的定位直接影响到英语教育内容的选择、方法的选用以及效果的评价。因此，把握好学前儿童英语教育的目标及其内容体系尤为的重要。

是有关幼儿学习英语知识方面的要求，为什么要提出这一目标呢？
▪ 1．掌握一定数量的单词、短语和句子，这是理解和运用英语的前提。
▪ 2．学习英语的最终目标是能运用学过的单词、句子等进行交谈、阅读、写作等，所以应根据幼儿的实际能力，要求幼儿能在一定情境下正确使用和运用已学过的单词、句子、句型等进行简单的对话和交谈。
语言不仅是由语音、词汇和语法规则组成的纯符号系统，它还是民族文化一个重要的载体。在幼儿英语学习中使他们逐渐产生对汉英两种文化的宽容和认同，达到最终适应汉英两种文化的目的。

▪ 1．从心理学的角度看，兴趣是人的一种带有倾向性的心理特征，兴趣是人的一种内驱力，这种内驱力是人学习的动力。从某种意义上讲，幼儿的学习是一种兴趣性的学习。
