Ballet, which is a form of performance dance, was originated in the Italian Renaissance(文艺 复兴) courts and it was developed in different countries.
The 16th century, a so-called “court ballet” dance appeared in Italy. Actors dressed noble(高贵的), graceful, and moved in a soft and elegant(优雅的) way. This is the embryonic (早期) form of the original ballet.
The biggest mystery of ballet toe shoes is the "shoebox.” On the top of the toe shoe there is a quadrate(方形) part which is hard enough to support the toes of ballerina. This place was called shoebox. Some people think that this part is hard because there is a piece of wood in it. It is wrong. The shoebox is made of several pieces of fabric(布); use a kind of special glue to paste the fabric together.
When a ballerina buys a new pair of pointe shoes, it’s always too hard to wear. Many ballerinas have their own method to make their shoes soft. Some of them knock their shoes on the floor, and some of them use a hammer. They can also trample on the shoes to soften them.
