“This is what her life was about, giving to others,” Alex said. She recently reached a goal that helped her family and hundreds of people who’ve received their special gifts.
Alex was up before dawn on Sunday volunteering in a local town. That alone could have been her good deed for the day. But she was just getting started. By 8 am, the McKelveys were ready for breakfast at a restaurant where they would complete their next task.
Before they paid their bill, they asked the server to swipe their card for a couple sitting a few tables away. But

And that was just for Sunday. The McKelveys have taken a lot of time over the past year to make other people’s days. “It’s been fun to come up with all these ideas, but it also kind of helps us too,” said Sarah.

When shopping for clothes, my mother and I have always disagreed on what fits me well. To me, if it zips (拉上拉锁), it fits. My mom, however, usually says I need a bigger size.
When I was a teenager, I wanted to dress like my friends, but my body size made it impossible. When mom told me something didn’t suit me, or that I needed a bigger size, all I heard was that my body was wrong.
To avoid arguments, we stopped going shopping together. This continued until I got engaged (订婚) and needed to find a wedding dress (婚纱). I could have just bought it alone, of course, but my mom is my favorite person to hang out with. The idea of looking for a wedding dress without her seemed as scary as taking her with me.
And so the day came. As I tried on a simple white dress, I saw tears in my mom’s eyes. “You look beautiful,”
she told me. Nothing could have shocked me more.
This one didn’t zip up at the back and I did actually need a bigger size, but my mother didn’t say that. She just told me how beautiful I looked. At that moment, all those arguments we’d had while shopping in the past were laid to rest. We didn’t buy a dress that day. We decided to see more, which I would never have predicted (预见).
A few weeks and many shopping trips later, we found the perfect dress. And during those few weeks, mom and I also found the perfect fit for our shopping relationship.
68. According to the first two paragraphs, we know that ________.

D. the writer tried to lose weight when she was a teenager
69. Why did the writer go shopping with her mom to buy the wedding dress?
A. Because she couldn’t find any friends to go with her.
B. Because her mom was very experienced in choosing a wedding dress.
C. Because a wedding dress is special and she liked hanging out with her mom.
D. Because they always had a great shopping relationship.
70. When the writer and her mom went shopping for the wedding dress, the writer felt shocked because ________.
A. her mom said she looked beautiful even though the dress didn’t fit her
B. none of the wedding dresses could zip up the writer’s back
C. her mom asked her to try on a bigger-sized dress
D. they found the perfect dress more quickly than she expected
71. What would be the best title for the passage?
A. Shopping with parents.
B. Choosing wedding dresses.
C. Perfect mother-daughter relationship.
D. Finding the perfect fit.

Teachers and headmasters in Chinese schools are asked to eat with students in dining rooms at every meal. The new rule was carried out on April 1, 2019. According to the Ministry of Education, the introduction of the rule is a way of making sure of the safety, nutrition and health levels of school food.
School leaders from kindergartens to high schools should get together with students during school meals. The plan will guide them to pay more attention to food safety at school.
This move came after a list of school food safety problems in the past few years. In March, 2019, moldy (发霉的) food was found in a primary school dining room in Chengdu. The news led to people’s worries. Parents asked to make sure of school food safety.
Under the new rule, schools are asked to tell where the food comes from, who offers it and other information. The rule says schools should help students get into healthy eating habits. It also invites parents to eat with students at school to make them less worried.
In the United States, obesity rates(肥胖率) have kept rising over the past thirty years. The new law introduced by Michelle Obama has pushed schools to make low-calorie(卡路里) menus. Even the healthiest choices are commonly provided by large food companies.
Schools in Japan also give children a homemade meal for lunch. The food is grown locally and almost is never frozen. The meals are often made by cooks from the beginning. And they’re balanced but heavy on rice, vegetables and fish.
()72. The purpose of asking teachers and headmasters to eat with students at every meal is EXCEPT making sure of ________.
A. students’ food safety
B. avoiding students’ noise
C. the nutrition of school food
D. The health levels of school food
()73.The rule that teachers and headmasters eat with students at every meal is made ________.

B. because of a list of school food safety problems in the past few years

B. the information

B)请阅读下面短文,然后根据短文内容从下面方框内的7个选项中,选择个还原到短文中,使短文通顺、结构完整。

(每小题2分,共10分)
You know you have to read “between the lines” to get the most out of anything. I want to tell you something important during your reading.
You shouldn’t mark a book which isn’t yours. 76 . If you think it useful to mark books, you will have to buy them.
There are two ways in which one can own a book. The first is to get the right by paying for it, just as you pay for clothes and furniture. But full ownership comes only when you have made it a part of yourself. 77 .
There are three kinds of book owners. The first has all the best sellers-unread and untouched. The second has a great many books. 78 . The third has a few dog-eared(翻折的) books, which are marked from front to back. Why is marking a book necessary? First, it keeps you awake. In the second place, reading is thinking. 79 . The marked book is usually the thought-through book. Finally, writing helps you remember the thoughts you had, or the thoughts the writer expressed.
If reading is to learn anything more than passing time, it must be active. The book you read for pleasure can be read in a state of relaxation, and nothing is lost. But for a great book, rich in ideas, reading must be active. 80 .
You should come up with an understanding of what you have read.

Live a healthy life
Spring is coming. However, the approach of spring not only brings warm weather, but also provides the opportunity for the flu to spread. As we know, a virus called COVID-19 is spreading across our country. So it is essential (重要的)for us to prevent sickness. Here are some suggestions.
First, you should form some good daily habits instead of lying in bed all day. For example, exercising is undoubtedly a wise choice that can help you fight off disease. And how about having a balanced diet? Try to eat more fruit and vegetables. You can start with a delicious salad. By the way, you’d better go to bed early rather than stay up late.
It’s of great importance to be optimistic. I bet happiness works better than any medicine. Keeping a positive attitude is good for your mental health.
Last but not least, don’t be afraid of illness! If you follow the tips above, you can prevent yourself from getting sick. It’s not hard to stay healthy, even during flu season.

Hello, everybody. I’d like to tell you something about Mr. Mario. Mr. Mario works in a post office. He is 40 years old and his wife is 2 years younger than him. They don’t like noise, so they buy a house outside the city. But it’s far from Mr. Mario’s office. Every morning, Mr. Mario has to get up at 5:30. Then he plays sports. After breakfast he goes to work by bus. He usually has lunch in the office. At 6:00 p.m., he leaves his office. He buys something in a shop and then goes to catch a bus and goes home. He has dinner at 7:30 p.m. Then he watches TV or does some writing .At 10: 00 p.m. He goes to bed.
