When Storms ArriveStorms are a natural and often unpredictable phenomenon that can bring both awe and destruction. Whether it's a gentle drizzle or a raging hurricane, the arrival of a storm can have a profound impact on our lives, our communities, and our environment. As we navigate these turbulent times, it is important to understand the power and the unpredictability of storms, and to be prepared to face them with resilience and compassion. At their core, storms are the result of complex atmospheric conditions that can create dramatic changes in weather patterns. They can manifest in many forms, from the gentle patter of raindrops to the howling winds of a tornado. Each type of storm carries its own unique challenges and requires a different approach to weathering its effects. One of the most awe-inspiring aspects of storms is their sheer power and magnitude. The thunderous roar of a lightning bolt, the crashing waves of a coastal storm, or the swirling vortex of a hurricane can all leave us feeling small and vulnerable in the face of nature's rawmight. Yet, it is in these moments that we are often reminded of our own resilience and the importance of coming together as a community to support one another. When a storm approaches, the air often becomes charged with a sense of anticipation and apprehension. Families gather supplies, businesses batten down the hatches, and communities mobilize to ensure the safety of their residents. It is a time of preparation and vigilance, as we ready ourselves to face the unknown. As the storm unleashes its fury, the world around us can be transformed in an instant. Roads may become impassable, power lines may be downed, and homes may be damaged or destroyed. In these moments, it is crucial that we remain calm and focused, following the guidance of local authorities and emergency responders. By staying informed and heeding the warnings, we can minimize the risks and protect ourselves and our loved ones.Yet, even in the midst of the chaos, there is often a sense of community and resilience that emerges. Neighbors come together to lend a hand, strangers offer shelter and support, and the spirit of human compassion shines through the darkness. It is in these moments that we are reminded of the power of the human spirit and the importance of standing united in the face of adversity. As the storm eventually passes and the clean-up begins, we are left to assess the damage and begin the process of rebuilding. This can be a daunting task, but it is also an opportunity to reflect on the lessons we have learned and to strengthen our collective resilience. In the end, the arrival of a storm is a reminder of the incredible power and unpredictability of nature. It is a call to action, to be prepared, to be vigilant, and to come together as a community to weather the storm. By embracing this challenge with courage and compassion, we can emerge stronger, more resilient, and more connected than ever before.。

1When the storm is coming, what are you doing? Let me tell you all about it!When I heard that the storm was coming, I quickly ran home from school. My mom was already busy preparing for the storm. She was closing all the windows, bringing in the plants from the garden, and making sure we had enough food and water.I wanted to help, so I started gathering all the toys and books from the yard. I didn't want them to get wet or blown away in the storm. My little brother helped me too, even though he kept complaining that he was scared of the storm. As the sky started to darken, the wind began to pick up. It was so strong that I could hear the trees rustling and the leaves flying around. My mom told us to stay inside and stay away from the windows. She said it wasn't safe to be outside during a storm. We all sat together in the living room, listening to the rain pounding on the roof and the thunder rumbling outside. Mymom made us hot chocolate and we snuggled under blankets, watching a movie until the storm passed. After a few hours, the storm finally passed and the sun started shining again. We went outside to see all the damage the storm had done. There were branches scattered everywhere and some of our neighbors had lost power.I was grateful that we were safe and that our house was okay. It was a scary experience, but I was glad to be with my family during the storm. I knew that as long as we stuck together, we could weather any storm that came our way.篇2When the storm comes, I usually stay at home and do some fun activities with my family. We turn off all the lights and listen to the sound of the rain and thunder. Sometimes, we make some popcorn and watch a movie together. It's really cozy and exciting at the same time.I remember one time when the storm was really strong, and the wind was howling outside. We all gathered in the living room with some blankets and pillows. My mom made us hot chocolate, and my dad told us some funny stories from when he was a kid.We laughed so hard that we almost forgot about the storm outside.Sometimes, if the storm is not too bad, I like to go outside and play in the rain. I put on my rain boots and coat, and I jump in the puddles. It's so much fun to feel the rain on my face and hear the thunder in the distance. I feel like I'm part of the storm, like I'm one with nature. So, when the storm comes, I don't hide under my bed or cower in fear. I embrace it and enjoy the time with my family. Storms can be scary, but they can also be exciting and beautiful. I'm not afraid of them anymore.篇3When the storm comes, I am usually at home with my family. We make sure all the windows and doors are closed tightly, and we check that we have enough food and water just in case we lose power.Sometimes, if the storm is really loud and scary, we might all huddle together in the living room and watch a movie to take our minds off the wind and rain outside. My mom always makes us hot chocolate to warm us up and my dad tells us stories to keep us entertained. If the storm is really bad, we might lose power for a little while. It can be a little scary when it's dark and the wind is howling outside, but my family always sticks together and we make the best of it. We play games by candlelight or tell spooky stories to pass the time.Once the storm passes and the sun comes out again, we go outside to see if there's any damage. Sometimes trees fall down or there's flooding in the streets. It's always interesting to see how powerful nature can be.Overall, when the storm comes, I just try to stay calm and stick with my family. Together, we can get through anything.篇4When a storm is coming, I usually stay inside and do some fun activities. I love watching the rain from my window and listening to the sound of thunder. It's so exciting!Sometimes, I will build a fort with blankets and pillows to hide in while the storm passes. It feels cozy and safe inside, and I can pretend I'm on an adventure in a faraway land.If the power goes out, I like to play board games or read books with a flashlight. It's like having a mini camping trip in myown house! And if I'm feeling really brave, I might even go outside and jump in the puddles. But the most important thing to remember during a storm is to stay safe. I make sure to stay away from windows and doors, and I listen to my parents for any instructions. It can be scary when the wind is howling and the rain is pouring, but as long as I'm with my family, I know everything will be okay.So when the storm comes, I'm not afraid. I'm just excited for the adventure that awaits!篇5When the storm comes, I'm usually staying indoors with my family or friends. The wind is howling and the rain is pounding on the windows. It's pretty scary but also kinda exciting. My mom or dad will make sure all the windows are closed tightly so that no water can come inside. We'll all gather in the living room, maybe light some candles just in case the power goes out. Sometimes we'll play board games or watch a movie to pass the time.I always feel safe when I'm with my family during a storm. We all huddle together under blankets and tell stories to eachother. It's like our own little adventure, even though we're just sitting inside our house. When the storm finally passes, we'll go outside and see the damage. Sometimes there are tree branches on the ground or our neighbor's fence might be blown over. But we always help each other clean up and make sure everyone is okay.So when the storm comes, I know I'll be safe and sound with my family by my side. And that's all that matters.篇6When the storm is coming, I'm usually at home. I like to watch the rain through the window. It's so cool to see the raindrops falling down from the sky. Sometimes the wind is strong and it makes the trees dance. It's like a big party for them!I always make sure to stay indoors when there's a storm. I don't want to get wet and catch a cold. I also don't want to get struck by lightning! So I stay away from windows and doors, and I make sure all the electronics are unplugged.I like to snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and watch a movie. It's so cozy when it's raining outside. Sometimes I even make some hot chocolate or popcorn to snack on.When the storm is over, I like to go outside and see the damage. Sometimes there are branches and leaves everywhere. It's like a big puzzle to clean up! But it's also fun because I get to play in the mud and jump in puddles. So that's what I do when the storm is coming. I stay safe and cozy inside, and then have fun cleaning up afterwards!篇7When a storm is coming, what are you doing? Let me tell you a story about what happened to me during a big storm.I was playing with my friends outside when we saw dark clouds in the sky. The wind started to pick up and the trees were swaying back and forth. We knew a storm was coming, so we quickly ran inside to safety.Once we were inside, we heard the rain pouring down outside. It was so loud! Thunder rumbled and lightning flashed across the sky. We all huddled together, a little scared but also excited to watch the storm from the safety of our house. As the storm raged on, we decided to play some board games to pass the time. We laughed and had so much funplaying together. It was a little scary hearing the storm outside, but we felt safe and cozy inside. After a while, the storm started to calm down. The rain stopped, the thunder faded away, and the sun started to peek out from behind the clouds. We went outside to see the aftermath of the storm - leaves and branches were scattered everywhere, but we were all safe and sound. So, when a storm is coming, make sure to find a safe place to wait it out. You can play games, read a book, or just enjoy the sound of the rain. And remember, storms may be scary, but they always pass. Stay safe and have fun!篇8When the storm is coming, I usually stay at home with my family. We make sure all the windows and doors are closed tightly to keep out the wind and rain. Then we gather in the living room, light some candles, and listen to the sound of the rain tapping on the roof.Sometimes, if the storm is really strong, we might lose power. When that happens, it gets really dark in the house, so we use flashlights to find our way around. We might play some board games or tell stories to pass the time until the storm passes. If the storm is really bad, we might have to stay inside for a long time. But that's okay because we have plenty of food and water to last us. We make sure to check the weather forecast regularly to see when the storm is going to end. When the storm finally passes, we go outside to see the damage. Sometimes there are branches and leaves scattered everywhere, or even some flooding in our yard. But we always work together to clean up and make our home safe again.I always feel safe and cozy when I'm inside with my family during a storm. It's a time for us to come together and take care of each other until the sun comes out again.篇9When the storm comes, I like to stay inside my cozy house. I usually watch movies with my family or play board games. Sometimes, I like to bake cookies or make hot chocolate to warm us up.If the storm is really loud, I might get a little scared. But I know that my family is with me, so I feel safe. We might even build a fort out of blankets and pillows to hide in until the storm passes.During the storm, I like to imagine that I am a brave adventurer exploring a wild jungle. The thunder is the roar of a fierce lion, and the rain is the sound of a rushing river. It makes the storm seem more exciting and less scary. After the storm, I like to go outside and see all the raindrops on the leaves and flowers. Everything looks so fresh and clean. Sometimes, there are even rainbows in the sky! It's like magic. So, when the storm comes, I know that I am safe and happy in my cozy house. And I can't wait to see the beautiful world that the storm leaves behind.篇10When the storm is coming, what are you doing?Hi everyone! Today I want to talk about what I do when a big storm is coming. It can be scary when the wind is blowing and the rain is pouring down. But don't worry, I'll tell you what I do to stay safe during a storm.First of all, I make sure all the windows and doors are closed tightly. I don't want any rain or wind getting inside my house! I also check to see if there are any loose objects outside thatmight blow away in the storm. I don't want a flying trampoline in my yard!Next, I gather some supplies like flashlights, candles, and blankets in case the power goes out.

When the Storm Comes. The sky was a deep, threatening grey, a far cry from the bright blue it had been just hours ago. The air was heavy with the promise of an impending storm, and the wind had picked up, whirling leaves and dust into a frenzied dance. The signs were unmistakable—a severe storm was brewing, and it was heading straight for our town.As the first drops of rain began to fall, they were sparse and cool on my skin. They were followed quickly by more, and then more still, until the world was a blur of water and grey. The rain fell in sheets, drumming against the roof and windows, creating a deafening cacophony that drowned out all other sounds. Lightning flashed across the sky, cracking the air with its thunderous roar, and the wind howled, picking up speed with every passing moment.I found myself drawn to the window, watching the stormunfold outside. The raindrops were falling so heavily now that they looked like a waterfall, and the wind was bending the trees almost double. It was an awe-inspiring sight, and at the same time, it was terrifying. The power of nature was on full display, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it.As the storm raged on, I found myself thinking about the impact it was having on the town. The roads would be flooded, the power would go out, and there would be damage to property and infrastructure. It was a reminder of the fragility of our world and the importance of being prepared for such events. As the hours passed, the storm began to lose its fury. The rain became lighter, the wind died down, and the sky began to brighten. Gradually, the town emerged from the chaos, and life began to return to normal. The roads were cleared, the power was restored, and people began to assess the damage and begin the cleanup process. In the aftermath of the storm, there was a sense ofcommunity spirit that was truly heartwarming. Neighbors helped each other clear debris and repair damage, and people came together to share stories and experiences. It was a reminder of the resilience and unity that can arise in the face of adversity. In conclusion, the storm was a powerful reminder of the power and beauty of nature, as well as its potential for destruction. It was a test of our resilience and preparedness, and it left us with a renewed sense of appreciation for the safety and comfort of our daily lives. As we looked back on the storm, we also looked forward to the future, knowing that we would be stronger and more prepared for whatever nature threw at us next.。

1When the Storm RagedI was playing with my toy cars when the skies grew dark. Rain pounded the windows as thunder boomed loudly. I hid under my bed, heart racing with fear. Flashes of lightning lit up my room like camera flashes. Branches scratched the glass like bony fingers. Mom called me downstairs to stay safe. The storm howled for what felt like forever until finally, peaceful quiet returned. I peeked outside - the sun shone bright, the birds sang sweetly. The storm had passed, leaving me relieved but amazed at nature's power.篇2When the Storm CameI was playing video games with my friends online. The lights started flickering and the wind was howling. Suddenly, there was a huge crack of thunder! My mom yelled for me to unplug everything. I hurried to shut off the game and computer. Rainstarted pouring down in sheets against the windows. We lit candles and played board games by candlelight until the storm passed. It was kind of fun having an adventure when the storm came!篇3Here's an English essay of around 1000 words, written from the perspective of an elementary school student, on the topic "What were you doing when the storm hit?":When the Storm HitIt was a perfectly normal Saturday afternoon. I was playing my favorite video game, Super Cosmic Adventurers, in my room. My character, Zap the Zephyr, was battling the evil Lord Drizzikus on Planet Rainshine. Zap was shooting lightning bolts from his laser blaster, trying to zap Drizzikus into submission."Haha, you'll never defeat me, Zap!" Lord Drizzikus cackled on the screen. "I control the weather on this planet!""We'll see about that, you nasty drip!" I shouted back at the TV, my thumbs furiously mashing the controller buttons.Suddenly, there was a huge crack of thunder from outside my window. It made me jump and nearly drop my controller!"Joey! Can you come downstairs for a minute?" Mom yelled up from the living room."Just a sec, Mom! I'm about to beat the level!" I hollered back, not taking my eyes off the screen. But then the whole house started shaking with the loudest boom of thunder I'd ever heard. The lights flickered and my game console shut off."Aw, man!" I groaned, smacking the powerless controller on my bed in frustration. That's when I noticed it was getting really dark outside, even though it was only 3 in the afternoon. I looked out the window and saw that the sky had turned an angry shade of green-grey. Huge storm clouds were swirling overhead, flashing with lightning every few seconds."Joey! Get down here now, there's a tornado warning!" Mom shouted again, sounding scared this time.A tornado? For real? Those only happened in movies and stuff, right? But the way the wind was suddenly howling and whipping the trees around outside, I knew Mom wasn't kidding.I raced downstairs to the living room, nearly slipping on the last step. Dad was pulling open the door to the basement, his face tight with worry."Hurry, everyone downstairs!" he ordered, gesturing us forward with his free hand. "We have to take shelter, now!"I felt a lump of fear form in my throat as I hurried over with Mom right behind me. What if a real tornado hit our house? Would it get blown away into pieces like in The Wizard of Oz?We'd barely made it down to the cold, musty-smelling basement when the storm hit with breathtaking force. The entire house seemed to groan and shake as tremendously loud winds slammed against it. I could hear objects banging and crashing around upstairs as things fell over or blew around. I grabbed Mom's arm, feeling tears sting my eyes from sheer terror. For what felt like a lifetime but was probably only 10 minutes, the monstrous tornado roared and raged directly over our neighborhood. Dad had us crouch along the basement wall, covering our heads with our hands in case the foundation collapsed on us.Then, just as quickly as it had arrived, the ferocious winds began subsiding to a quieter howl. The deafening roar faded into an eerie, hollow silence. We stayed hunkered in the basement for a little while longer, not daring to move until we were sure the storm had fully passed. My heart was pounding so hard I could feel it throbbing in my throat. When we finally crept upstairs, I couldn't believe the destruction. Trees were uprooted and strewn everywhere. Pieces of debris, garbage cans, and parts of fences littered our yard and the street. Our poor little green tent in the backyard was shredded into ribbons, the metal pole bent into a crazy corkscrew shape. But miraculously, even though every window was shattered and the roof looked pretty chewed up, our house was still standing. A huge oak tree branch had crashed through the living room window, but otherwise the interior seemed mostly okay.As we walked through in a daze, surveying the mess, I thought about how lucky we were that nobody got seriously hurt. I'd never forget the ferocious power of that tornado as long as I lived. From that day on, whenever thunder roared in the distance, I raced down to the basement just to be safe. Because you never knew when another monster storm might strike.篇4When the Storm Came Roaring InIt was a sunny Saturday afternoon and I was outside playing in the backyard with my best friend Tommy. We were having a great time running around and playing chase. The birds were singing, the sky was bright blue without a single cloud, and a gentle breeze was blowing through the trees. It was the perfect day to be outside!Suddenly, Tommy stopped dead in his tracks and pointed up at the sky. "Whoa, look at those dark clouds rolling in!" he exclaimed. I turned to look where he was pointing and saw an enormous mass of ominous grey clouds quickly approaching from the west. They seemed to be moving at an incredible speed, swallowing up the clear blue sky as they advanced."That doesn't look good," I said with a worried frown. "We should probably head inside before that storm gets here." Tommy nodded his head in agreement and we raced towards the back door of my house. We had just made it inside when the first clap of thunder boomed, shaking the windows. My little sister Lily, who had been coloring at the kitchen table, screamed in surprise and burst into tears. Mom rushed over to comfort her as the skies opened up, unleashing a torrential downpour. The rain pounded on the roof so loudly it was hard to hear anything else. Every few seconds, brilliant forks of lightning would illuminate the dark clouds, followed closely by deafening thunderclaps that made the whole house tremble. I was starting to get a little scared myself as I peered cautiously out the window at the raging storm.Tommy and I went into the living room to wait out the storm. We tried to play some video games but the lightning kept causing the power to flicker, scrambling the images on the TV screen. After a while, we gave up on gaming and just sat watching the storm in awe through the big picture window. The wind was howling like a pack of wolves, whipping the trees back and forth and sending leaves and branches skating across the yard. One particularly strong gust blew over my dad's prized garden gnome, shattering it into pieces. I knew he wasn't going to be happy about that. For what seemed like hours, the dark clouds churned angrily overhead, pelting the neighborhood with heavy rain, hail and deafening thunderclaps. Several times the power went out completely, leaving us in total darkness until the emergency lights kicked on.Eventually, the intense part of the storm seemed to pass. While rain still fell steadily, the lightning and thunderclaps became less frequent. The howling wind died down to a gentle breeze once more. Streams of water gushed along the gutters and flowed down the street. As the clouds finally started to break apart, rays of evening sunshine began to peak through the tattered remains. A beautiful rainbow even emerged, stretching across the eastern sky as if to celebrate the storm's departure. "Hey, there's a rainbow!" I shouted, pointing excitedly out the window. Tommy and I pressed our faces against the glass, marveling at nature's colorful display arching over the neighborhood. When the storm was just a faint rumble in the distance, Mom said it was okay for Tommy and I to go back outside and explore. We excitedly pulled on our rain boots and jackets and ventured out into the storm's aftermath. The once dry and dusty backyard had transformed into a muddy mess, with deep puddles covering much of the soggy ground. Leaves, twigs and other debris from the high winds were scattered everywhere. Part of the wooden fence between our yard and Mr. Wilson's had been blown over, creating a path to his property. But despite the mess, the air smelled incredibly fresh and clean in the wake of the powerful storm. Birds had already started singing again, their joyful melodies echoing through the rain-soaked trees. Earthworms and night crawlers wriggled across the saturated grass, driven up from their underground homes by the heavy rains.Tommy and I spent the next couple hours splashing through puddles, making mud pies, and helping to clean up some of the storm's mess in the yard. By the time we were finally called in for dinner, we were both drenched from head to toe and covered in dirt and mud. But we didn't care one bit—we had had an absolute blast exploring nature's drastic changes after that wild afternoon storm. That powerful storm turned an ordinary sunny day into an extraordinarily memorable one. I'll never forget watching from the safety of the living room as the skies unleashed their fury inextreme winds, heavy rains, hail and lightning. And I'll certainly never forget the fun Tommy and I had after the storm had passed, jumping in puddles and playing in the mud. From start to finish, it was an incredible experience I won't soon forget!篇5When the Storm Came Crashing InIt was a sunny Saturday morning and I was so excited! Mom said we could go to the park and have a picnic. I love picnics - getting to eat outside, run around and play games. Yay! I helped Mom pack up the big wicker basket with all our favorite foods. She made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (no crusts, just how I like them), baby carrots, juice boxes, and even baked her famous double chocolate chip cookies. My mouth was watering just thinking about it!We loaded everything into the car and headed to Willow Park. It's my favorite park because it has this great big climbing structure that looks like a pirate ship! As soon as we arrived, I raced over and claimed the ship as my vessel. "All aboard, mateys!" I shouted. Mom just smiled and shook her head as she spread out the big red checkered blanket under the trees. After gobbling down my sandwich, I decided to gather some flowers for Mom from the meadow beside the playground. I plucked purple violets, yellow dandelions, and white clovers until I had a big, colorful bouquet. "Here you go, Mommy! I picked these just for you," I said, giving her a sloppy kiss on the cheek. She gave me a big squeeze and thanked me for the "lovely bouquet."Then I spotted some puffy white clouds drifting across the sky. At first they looked like fluffy sheep waddling along. But soon they started getting darker and clumpier, like rising thunderheads. An ominous rumble echoed in the distance."Uh oh, I think we'd better start packing up," Mom said with a worried look. "That storm is going to reach us soon."I didn't want to leave yet! The fun was just getting started. But I could feell the wind whipping around us more forcefully now. Mom stuffed everything back into the basket as quickly as she could. As I helped gather the blanket, the first heavy raindrops started ploppping down, leaving dark polka dots on the red and white cloth.By the time we made a mad dash to the car, the skies had opened up into a total downpour. Thunder boomed and crashed like giants bowling. We were drenched within seconds! Fat coldraindrops pelted my face and ran down the back of my neck, making me shiver.Mom threw the basket in the trunk and we both piled into the front seat, shaking water off of us like a couple of wet dogs. The windshield wipers swished back and forth furiously, trying to keep up with the deluge. I watched the rain create a shimmery silver curtain outside the windows. As we slowly made our way home through the pounding storm, Mom reached over to pat my leg reassuringly. "Well, we may have gotten rained out, but I still think we had a fun adventure together. Don't you?"I grinned up at her dripping wet hair and nodded. "Yeah, it was awesome! This was the best picnic storm ever!" She laughed out loud at that. I nestled into her side, feeling warm and cozy despite the raging tempest outside our little car sanctuary. Yep, rainy days could be pretty amazing too in their own special way. I couldn't wait for our next big adventure!篇6What Were You Doing When the Storm Came?Storms are so exciting! The dark clouds roll in, the wind starts howling, and the rain comes pouring down. I love watching storms from inside the safe, dry house. But the last big storm we had was super crazy and caught me right in the middle of it!It was a sunny Saturday morning and I was out playing in the backyard. Mom had asked me to pull some weeds from the garden beds while she was at the grocery store. I didn't really mind because I liked getting my hands dirty and finding the juiciest worms. Plus, I knew if I did a good job weeding, Dad would let me have an extra popsicle after lunch.I had been working hard for about an hour, filling up the bucket with weeds and dreaming about that sweet popsicle reward. That's when I noticed the sky was getting darker in the distance. At first I didn't think much of it since rain showers come and go quickly in the spring. But then I heard a deep rumble of thunder and the winds started kicking up.Uh oh, I thought to myself, this doesn't look like a little rain shower. I should probably head inside. But just as I turned towards the house, the skies opened up and rain started pouring down in huge, soaking drops. I was drenched within seconds!I quickly grabbed the bucket of weeds and ran for the back door, but it was locked. Drat! Mom must have locked up beforeleaving for the store. I banged on the door, yelling for Dad, but there was no answer. He must have been out in the garage with his headphones on, not able to hear me over the roaring winds and thunder. So there I was, utterly soaked and shivering, with the rain pelting down on me. Worse yet, the wind was really whipping around now, bending the trees at scary angles. That's when I saw it - a massive tree branch had snapped off and came crashing down right in front of me! I screamed and stumbled backwards, my heart racing with fear.I had to find shelter fast before that raging storm brought down anything else on my head. Luckily, the little playhouse Dad built for me was just a few feet away. I scrambled over and pulled open the tiny door, squeezing myself and the bucket of weeds inside just as a huge bolt of lightning split the sky. Thunder roared so loudly that I had to cover my ears it was so deafening. The playhouse shook and rattled as the violent winds battered against it. Rain was blowing in through the little window and I was drippingwet and shivering uncontrol. It was so scary being out in that monster storm all alone! All I could do was huddle in the cramped little playhouse, clutching my bucket of weeds, and pray that the worst of it would pass soon. What felt like an eternity later, the winds finally started to die down and the rain let up. I poked my head out to find the skies had cleared and the sun was even peeking back through the clouds. Puddles were everywhere and branches were scattered all over the backyard, but the storm had passed.Just then I heard Dad calling my name in a panicked voice. He came running over when he saw me, scooping me up and hugging me tight, so relieved that I was okay. He had no idea I had been trapped outside in that crazy storm the whole time! Mom was right behind him, crying with joy to find me safe. They had both been so frightened when they realized I wasn't in the house during that dangerous weather. We all went inside and I got some dry clothes and a great big mug of hot chocolate to warm me up. Mom and Dad kept hugging me and telling me how proud they were that I had found shelter in the playhouse and kept safe. I was just happy the terrifying storm was over at last. But I had definitely learned my lesson - always keep an eye on the skies and head indoors at the first sign of severe weather! From now on, storms can watch me from the safety of the living room instead.。
