Book 1 Module 2 My New Teachers教案

I. Teaching Aims :
1. To improve Ss' speaking skills.
2. To improve Ss' reading skills.
3. To enable Ss to describe the teachers by using the adjectives that they have
learnt.
4. Through organizing them to take an active part in class, help them deepen the
love for the teachers, which will make the relationship between teachers and
students more harmonious.
II. Teaching Important Points:
1. Encourage the students to speak actively in class.
2. Train the stude nts’ reading skills
III. Teaching Difficult Points:
1.How to help the students improve their reading ability.
2.Teach the students to describe someone’s character.
IV. Teaching Methods:
1. Fast reading (Skimming) and Careful reading to train the students’ rea ding skills.
2. Scanning to get the detailed information.
3. Explanation to help the students to understand the passage better.
4. Individual work and group work to make students active in class.

VI. Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Preparation. Enjoy a piece of music

Step 2 lead-in
T: How long have you been here?
S: About two weeks.
T: Do you feel happy for being here?
S: Yes.
T: How do you think of our school?
S1: It is beautiful.
S2: The teachers are very excellent and friendly.
T: Yes, excellent! So today we will talk about _____?
SS: My new teachers!
【设计说明】:鉴于他们是高一新生,学校生活又是学生非常熟悉的话题,从学生的现实生活出发,以轻松愉快的聊天形式导入新课,能使学生迅速进入本节课的学习,形成轻松活泼的课堂氛围。

Step 3 Warming-up
T: We usually use some adjectives to describe persons. E.g. I am ___?
Ss: Beautiful.
T: Yes, thank you. Here I will give you some pictures and you just give me the adjectives that you can think of from it, ok?
S: pretty beautiful handsome amusing…
Make the students try to express themselves freely. Help the students to describe the pictures, using the adjectives they have learnt.
【设计说明】:运用头脑风暴法,呈现一些图片引导学生充分想象自己已经学过的描述人物的单词,由此,总结已知词汇,导出新词汇。

Step 4 Fast-reading
Read the passage quickly and find the answers to the following questions:
1) What subject do you think Mr. Li is teaching?
2) Do all the students like Mrs. Chen?
3) Which teachers explain things clearly?
4) Who is the most popular teacher?
5) What does the writer think of the three teachers?
【设计说明】:此任务要求学生在5分钟内完成,限时阅读有利于提高学生的学习效率。

此环节主要考察学生的略读能力,任务设计简单,锻炼学生捕捉关键信息的能力。

Step 5 Careful-reading
激发人人参与的热情,使学生探索学习策略,轻松提高能力,体验学习快乐。

Step 6 Guessing Game
Describe your favorite teacher that you and your classmates know and ask your classmates to guess who he or she is.
【设计说明】在这一环节中,我并没有让学生重复练习使用adjectives 去描绘老师,因为到此为止,学生对这些adjectives已经掌握的相当好了。

所以,我结合课本Speaking中的一个环节,把talk about your favorite teacher变成了Guessing game的形式,把全班分成四组,每组描绘一个自己的favorite teacher。

为了让其他组的同学猜出来,他们必须不断地把自己的描绘对象描绘地细致,再细致。


们会挖空心思想自己学到的所有知识,并不仅仅是摆在手边的adjectives,而且要连句成篇,是能力的又一次提升,起到了很好的效果。

并且,我把班里其他老师的照片以幻灯片的形式展示给同学们,他们更加积极主动了,整个课堂形成了一种描绘,赞美自己老师的和谐氛围。

Step 7 Discussion
How to introduce a teacher?
(Ask students to work together in groups to have a discussion and each group choose one to make a report to all the class.)
【设计说明】:这一部分是文章的提升部分,教师引导学生分组探究、讨论—如何介绍一老师,小组合作探究体现了“提倡民主合作,探究的学习方式”的新课标理念。

Step 8 Homework
Write a short passage about your new teachers and their teaching method ( at least two teachers).
【设计说明】学生通过讨论已经掌握了介绍老师的方法,教师趁热打铁,要求学生写一篇介绍自己老师的作文,不但锻炼学生的写作技巧,提升写作能力,更重要的是培养了学生对老师的热爱与尊敬,更利于今后师生友好相处。

Step 9The blackboard design
在整个教学过程中我利用略读跳读等阅读技巧,识别关键词等方法来培养阅读能力,掌握推测概括的阅读方法和策略,并通过相应的练习来巩固;理解文章结构框架及复述课文;结合学生的实际生活,对教材整个模块的内容进行了整合,通过创设多种情景活动,使学生积极参与课堂活动,主动踊跃地发言,并描述自己课文中与现实生活中喜欢的老师,进行激烈的讨论,整个课堂总体来说气氛比较活跃,学生和我配合默契,他们积极回答问题,踊跃发言,大胆地展示自我,做到了以学生为主体,我为主导,课堂轻松愉快,教学过程比较流畅,教学效果明显。

经验告诉我们,教师的教法得当,学生就会对英语发生兴趣,充满信心。

作为站在教学改革一线的教师,心系学生,我们就一定能够创设多种多样的情景,贴近学生生活,走进精彩课堂!在教师的正确指导和鼓励下,学生将会愉快地发现英语已成为一种习惯——一种令人惬意的习惯,这个发现是一把引导他们去打开一个令人兴奋的新世界的钥匙。

然而我也存在着一些问题,自身还有很多不足之处和需要学习改进的地方:教学所设计的活动要尽量考虑学生的实际,做到立足学情,积极改进自己的不足,取得更大的进步。
