(Ross and Joey looks puzzled) I mean... oh, forget it. I miss Melrose Place!get cancelled <美口>(剧集)被砍/Melrose Place is an American primetime soap opera that ran between 1992 and 1999, created by Darren Star for the FOX network. Originally a spinoff(n.电视剧续集) of Beverly Hills 90210, though not featuring any permanent cast members crossing over, teenager Kelly Taylor pursues the hunky(<俚>优秀的) melodramatic(adj. 木匠) Jake Hanson, but she returns to her zip code after Jake goes to extreme measures to convince her they are from different worlds. The show struggled in its first season with low ratings, unlike its predecessor, whichwas at its height of fame at the time. However, with the arrival of more interesting characters and over-the-top(adj. Melrose Place is set in a small apartment courtyard complex in the West Hollywood district of Los Angeles, where several young individuals reside, each with their own dreams and drives. The show's popularity led to a rash of similar nighttime serials about sexy, powerful women, such as Models, Inc., Savannah, Pacific Palisades(n.木栅), Central Park West and Sex and the City, which featured former Melrose Place cast member Kristin Davis. However, during its seventh and final season, the fact that the creators could air a whole pilot on Heather Locklear's salary alone, warranted(v. In late 2004 the network SOAPnet began repeating the show and seasons 1 and 2 are currently available on DVD, and the third season is set to arrive in November.Joey (to Ross): You know, I had a chance to stop her too!Ross: Yeah?Joey: Who loses 57 coin tosses in a row?
The One Where Ross Hugs RachelWritten by: Shana Goldberg-MeehanTranscribed by: Eric Aasen602
6.02 The One Where Ross Hugs RachelRoss hasn't gotten the annulment yet... but he has gotten a little crazy. It seems the idea of a 3rd failed marriage has pushed him over the deep end(n.深渊困境).Phoebe (and her panel of women) decide(v.判决裁定) Ross is still in love with Rachel.Ross is in such denial about this that to prove them wrong he goes to his lawyer (Russell) to take care of the annulment... but finds that it's more complicated than expected, and Rachel will have to be told the truth.Chandler and Monica break the news(v.把坏消息委婉地告诉某人) of their live-in plans, first with Joey (who is happy for them, but sad to be losing Chandler) and then to Rachel (who doesn't seem to have much of a reaction at all... until she takes it seriously).Rachel is so sad that Ross still can't tell her the truth.Phoebe foretells the future marriages of the entire group.[Scene: Central Perk, it’s the same scene from the end of last week’s show. Phoebe and Rachel are sitting on the couch as Ross enters.]Ross: Hey!Rachel: Hey, so did everything go okay with the annulment?Ross: Oh, yeah, no problems. 【212】The One After the Superbowl
The One After the Superbowl212 超级杯后(第一集)一支广告总是勾起罗斯对马赛尔的思念。

The One With All The Haste The singing man, the bird smell, and the lack of space drive Rachel and Monica to new attempts to get their old apartment back; when they fail to bribe Chandler and Joey with season Knicks tickets, they try making another bet... and lose again, so they have neither the tickets nor the apartment. However, while Joey and Chandler are at a game, Rachel and Monica switch apartments. 男生的伴郎叫best man, 新娘(bride) 也要選擇一位maid of honor 作為伴娘. 有時我在跟老美談天時沒有話題可講, 我就會問問她們, “Have you ever been a maid of honor?“(妳有沒有當過伴娘啊?) 不過這時候就不叫maid of honor 了, 而改叫matron of honor.4. (everyone is a bit upset) Oh, it's OK, no, he was old, yeah! And he lived a full life, he was in the first wave at Omaha Beach.Omaha Beach was the code name(n.代号) for one of the principal landing points of the Allied invasion of German-occupied France in the Normandy[n.诺曼底(法国西北部一地区北临英吉利海峡)] landings on June 6 1944, during World War II. The beach was located on the northern coast of France, facing the English Channel, and was 5 miles (8 km) long, from east of Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes to west of Vierville-sur-Mer. Landings here were necessary in order to link up(v.连接) the British landings to the east with the American landing to the west, thus providing a continuous lodgement(n.立足点) on the Normandy coast. Taking Omaha was to be the responsibility of United States Army troops, with sea transport provided courtesy of the U.S. Navy and elements of the Royal Navy[n.(英国)皇家海军]. On D-Day[<军>军事攻击开始日(尤指第二次世界大战中盟军进攻西欧日,即1944年6月6日)], the untested 29th Infantry(n.步兵团) Division, joined by eight companies(n.连) of U.S. Rangers redirected from Pointe du Hoc, were to assault the western half of the beach. The battle-hardened 1st Infantry Division was given the eastern half. The initial assault waves, consisting of tanks, infantry and combat engineer forces, were carefully planned to reduce the coastal defences and allow the larger ships of the follow-up waves to land. The primary objective at Omaha was to secure a beachhead(n.据点) of some five miles (eight kilometers) depth, between Port-en-Bessin and the Vire River, linking with the British landings at Gold Beach to the east, and reaching the area of Isigny to the west to link up with VII Corps landing at Utah Beach. Opposing the landings was the experienced 352nd Infantry Division. Largely deployed in strongpoints(n.战略要点) at the coast, the German strategy was based on defeating any seaborne assault at the water line.Very little went as planned at Omaha on D-Day. Difficulties in navigation caused the majority of landing craft to miss their targets throughout the day. The defenses were unexpectedly strong and inflicted heavy casualties on(造成大量伤亡)US troops as they landed. Under heavy fire the engineers struggled to clear the beach obstacles, causing later landings to bunch around the few channels that had been cleared. Weakened by the casualties taken just to land, the surviving assault troops could not clear the heavily defended exits off the beach, causing further problems and consequent delays for later landings. Small penetrations(n.突破) were eventually achieved by groups of survivors making improvised assaults, scaling the bluffs(n.断崖) between the most heavily defended points. By the end of the day two small isolated footholds(n.立足点) had been won and which, against weaker defenses further inland, were subsequently exploited to achieve the original D-Day objectives over the following days.Chandler:Hey, I'm sorry, I should have given you guys my black book whenI got married! Their music is marked by the distinctive vocal style and lead flute(n.长笛) work of front man Ian Anderson. Initially playing blues rock with an experimental flavour, they have, over the years, incorporated elements of classical, folk and 'ethnic' musics, jazz and art rock. Eclectic(adj. 乐器使用), and often elaborate song construction led them to be labelled as an archetypal(adj.原型的) "progressive rock" band.Phoebe: (proud of herself) Oh yes, they are.OPENING CREDITS[Scene: Chandler and Monica's apartment]Chandler: (he enters) Hey honey!Joey: (Looking inside the fridge, and we only see his back. I've always thought of him as one of the people I'd invite to my fantasy dinner party. Do you think there's any chance he'll bring Christie Brinkley or C3PO?Christie Brinkley (born February 2, 1954) is an American supermodel. She was born Christie Lee Hudson in Monroe, Michigan, even though she has claimed to have been born and raised in California. Majoring in art and graduating in 1972, Christie attended Palisades High School in Pacific Palisades, California. In the early 1970s, she and her family lived in the Bel Air hills. She was educated at le Lycée Français de Los Angeles and worked in Paris as an entry-level illustrator(n.插图画家).In 1976, she signed a contract with cosmetics giant Cover Girl, which they continued to renew for twenty years.A few years after Cover Girl ended their contract with Brinkley, they again signed her on as a model with ads in magazines and commercials for mature skin products in 2005.She appeared on the cover of three consecutive Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues (1979–1981).C-3PO (often shortened to Threepio) is a fictional character from the Star Wars universe, who appears in both the original Star Wars films and the prequel(n.前传) trilogy. He is also a major character in the television show , and appears frequently in the series' "Expanded Universe" of novels, comic books, and video games. C-3PO is one of the few characters to appear in all six of the Star Wars feature films, and one of the very few to be played six times by the same actor. In all his various appearances, he is portrayed by Anthony Daniels.C-3PO is a protocol droid designed to serve humans, and boasts that he is fluent "in over six million forms of communication." C-3PO is generally seen with his long-time counterpart, R2-D2, a small, quirky(adj.诡异的) astromech droid. Threepio's main function as a protocol droid is to assist with etiquette(n.礼节), customs, and translation so that meetings of different cultures run smoothly. In his time, C-3PO loyally served over forty masters. He hated adventure and space travel, as they often resulted in him coming out on the wrong end of a fight, losing parts, and having them reattached, sometimes incorrectly. Together with his fellow droid R2, Threepio played a vital and pivotal(adj.关键的) role in the galaxy's history, however lowly he thought of himself.Charlie: (glances over Ross' shoulder) Sorry, looks like it's just him.Benjamin: Charlie!
NO.4 The One With George Stephanopoulos这一集主要情节如下:10月20号是Ross和前妻Carol初次云雨的纪念日,如今却形影相吊,Ross心烦意乱,遂跟随Chandler和Joey去看曲棍球(hockey)比赛,不料遭球击中。
1.Phoebe: Okay, okay. If I were omnipotent for a day, I would want, um, world peace, no more hunger, good things for the rain-forest...And bigger boobs!

NO.6 The One With the Butt本集故事情节如下:Joey的新音乐剧《弗洛伊德》(《Freud》)上演了,大家一起去观赏。
1.Chandler: You can always spot someone whos never seen one of his plays before. Notice, no fear, no sense of impending doom...
Freud! (The exclamation point in the title scares me. (Gesturing) Yknow, its not just Freud, its Freud!)

The One Where Rachel's Other SisterBabysits1005 瑞秋的妹妹带孩子瑞秋教育她那颇以自我为中心的小妹艾米(Christina Applegate 客串)去追求自己的幸福,为了培养她的责任感,不顾罗斯的反对,让她帮忙照看爱玛。

Besides its meaning as a treasury or storehouse(n.仓库), it more commonly means a listing of words with similar, related, or opposite meanings (this new meaning of thesaurus dates back to Roget's Thesaurus). For example, a book of jargon(n.行话) for a specialized field; or more technically a list of subject headings and cross-references used in the filing and retrieval of documents (or indeed papers, certificates, letters, cards, records, texts, files, articles, essays and perhaps even manuscripts), film, sound recordings, machine-readable media, etc.The first example of this genre, Roget's Thesaurus, was published in 1852, having been compiled earlier, in 1805, by Peter Roget. Entries inRoget's Thesaurus are not listed alphabetically but conceptually(adv.概念地) and are a great resource for writers.Although including synonyms(n.同义词) and antonyms(n.反义词), entries in a thesaurus should not be taken as a list of them. The entries are also designed for drawing distinctions between similar words and assisting in choosing exactly the right word. Nor does a thesaurus entry define words. That work is left to the dictionary. In information technology, a thesaurus represents a database or list of semantically(adv. In the field of Artificial Intelligence, a thesaurus may sometimes be referred to as an ontology(<哲>本体论)Thesaurus databases, created by international standards, are generally arranged hierarchically by themes and topics. Such a thesaurus places each term in context, allowing a user to distinguish between "bureau" the office and "bureau" the furniture. A thesaurus of this type is often used as the basis of an index for online material. The Art and Architecture Thesaurus, for example, is used to index(v.做索引) the national databases of museums, Artefacts Canada, held by the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN).Joey: What did I just say?Ross:Watch. (he takes the laptop) Here, you ehm... You highlight the word you want to change. Go under Tools and the Thesaurus generates...'gives'... 'gives' a whole list of choices. The term ticker-tape refered originally to the use of the paper output of ticker tape machines, which were remotely-driven devices used in brokerages to provide updated Stock Market quotes. Nowadays, the paper product are largely waste office paper that has been cut using conventional shredders. In New York City, ticker-tape parades are not annual events but are reserved for special occassions. The first such parade was in October 1886 and was a spontaneous event following the dedication of the Statue of Liberty. Soon afterwards, city officials realized the utility of such events and began to hold them on triumphal occassions, at first only for extraordinary events, such as the return of Theodore Roosevelt from his safari in Africa.Up through the 1950s, the were commonly given to any visiting head of state, but the 1960s, following the assassination of John F. Kennedy, they became increasingly rare are generally reserved now for space exploration triumphs, military honors and sports championships. The section of lower Broadway through the Financial District that serves as the parade route for these events is colloquially called the Canyon of Heros.2.hammerhead

Remember:fixateonsth.4.Joey:Stripjoint!C'mon,you'resingle!
5.Rachel:IrealizedthatIwasmoreturnedonbythisgravyboatthanbyBarry!AndthenIgotreal lyfreakedout,andthat'swhenithitme:howmuchBarrylookslikeMr.PotatoHead. 第二个是freakout,这个词组很重要,几乎在每集都能听到,频率高的吓人,看来口语中很实用,在论坛上我看到以下几种解释,觉得不错,a.haveanextremereactiontosthb.actabnormally(undertheinfluenceofdrugs)c.makesbfeelextr emepleasureorunease,也就是表达焦躁害怕不安等情绪的意思。
6.Joey:Yougotscrewed.
7.Paul:No,it's,it'smoreofafifthdatekindarevelation.
8.Ross:Iassumewe'relookingforananswermoresophisticatedthan‘togetyouintobed'.
9.Monica:Itsucks.
6.getscrewed:。
9.itsucks=itisverybad.这儿ROSS说他是ihaveacrushonyou”,嘿嘿,说不定他/她会理解成:“噢,不过现在已经不把俺当回事了。
2.Paul:Eversinceshewalkedoutonme,I,uh...Monica:What?.....What,youwannaspellitoutwithnoodles?walkoutonsomeone:将someone抛弃spellitout:explainit3.Paul:No,I'mtellingyoulastnightwaslikeumm,allmybirthdays,bothgraduations,plusthe barnraisingsceneinWitness.barnraising:村里的一种庆典,当一家人要建个新农屋时,邻居们也一起过来帮忙凑热闹,场面很喜庆。
4.Monica:Well,that'sit(ToRoss)Yougonnacrashonthecouch?Ross:No.No,Igottagohomesometime.crash:
5.Monica:(entering,toherself)Ohgood,LennyandSquigyarehere.All:Morning.Goodmorning.
