And a simply analysis of the pros and cons.1 Primary education in USAAmericans regard education as the most important factor in determining a person’s social role and economic prospects. The government does not interfere in the management of schools though there is a federal executive concerned with education. American schools lag the emphasis on cultivating student’s mind rather than requiring him to memorize fats.Primary education is the first stage of compulsory education. It is preceded by pre-school or nursery education and is followed by secondary education. In North America, this stage of education is usually known as elementary education and is generally followed by middle school.Historically, in the United States, local public control (and private alternatives) have allowed for some variation in the organization of schools. Elementary school includes kindergarten through fifth grade (or sometimes, to fourth grade, sixth grade or eighth grade). In elementary school, basic subjects are taught, and students often remain in one or two classrooms throughout the school day, with the exceptions of physical education ("P.E." or "gym"), library, music, and art classes. There are (as of 2001) about 3.6 million children in each grade in the United States.Primary education in the United States is typically refers to the first six years of formal education in most jurisdictions. Primary education may also be referred to as elementary education and most schools offering these programs are referred to as elementary schools. Preschool programs, which are less formal and usually not mandated by law, are generally not considered part of primary education. The first year of primary education is commonly referred to as kindergarten and begins at or around age 5. Subsequent years are usually numbered being referred to as first grade, second grade, and so forth. Students graduating from fifth grade, typically the last primary year, are normally age 11.In 2001 there were 92,858 elementary schools (68,173 public, 24,685 private) in the United States, a figure which includes all schools that teach students from grades one through eight. According to the National Center for Education Statics, in the fall of 2009 almost 3.5 million students attended public primary schools. In addition, 1,085,000 children were projected to attend public preschool or prekindergarten in the fall of 2009.In most US primary schools students have all their core classes from one or two homeroom teachers (as opposed to Middle and High Schools that typically have students rotate from one specialized teacher to the next throughout the day).2 Primary education in BritainChildren’s education in England is normally divided into two separate stages. They begin with primary education at the age of five and this usually lasts until they are eleven. Then they move to secondary school, there they stay until they reach sixteen, seventeen or eighteen years age.Primary education is provided by state schools run by the government and by independent fee-paying schools. In the state system children are either educated in separate infant and junior schools or in a combined primary school. Schools in the private sector providing primary education are generally known as preparatory schools or prep schools. In the private sector the transfer to the final stage of education often takes place at 14.British education aims to develop fully the abilities of individuals, both young and old, for their own benefit and that of society as a whole. Compulsory schooling takes place between the age of 5 and 16.3 Primary educations in ChinaIn China, children begin to go to school at the age of seven, it takes them for six years to finish primary school. It is convenient to divide education in China into four categories: primary education, secondary education, higher education, and adult education. China has a Compulsory Education Law.The Compulsory Education Law calls for each child to have nine years of formal education. To meet this requirement, a child will attend either five years of elementary education followed by three years of junior middle school.Primary education includes preschool and elementary education. Preschool, or kindergarten, can last up to three years, with children entering as early as age three, until age six, when they typically enter elementary school. The academic year is divided into two semesters. Some transcripts-----even those in the original Chinese----use the Latin letter grades (A, B, C, D,F) rather than the Chinese equivalents above. Often, numerical grades are reported (generally on a 0-100 scale); in this case, refer either to the bottom of the transcript (especially the English translation) for the letter-grade equivalents, or use the standard scale (A: 90-100, B: 80-89,etc).4Basic points(1)USA●OwnerEducation in the United States is mainly provided by the public sector, with control and funding coming from three levels: federal, state, and local. Child education is compulsory.Public education is universally available. School curricula, funding, teaching, employment, and other policies are set through locally elected school boards with jurisdiction over school districts with many directives from state legislatures. School districts are usually separate from other local jurisdictions, with independent officials and budgets. Educational standards and standardized testing decisions are usually made by state governments.●PreschoolUnder the Obama administration, recognition of importance of early childhood education is growing. As a result, many private schools, and some public schools, are offering pre-kindergarten (also known as Preschool or Pre-K) as part of the Primary, or Elementary, school experience. According to the authors Bennett, Finn, and Cribb of The Educated Child: A Parent's Guide from Preschool Through Eighth Grade, the first three to five years of an individual’s life can be the most critical period of their education. During this time period young minds work diligently on several physical, intellectual and emotional developments including, but not limited to: Growth of Curiosity, Formation of character and personality, Social, Brain and Language development. In addition, the Obama Administration is urging the development and growth of new State funded programs, such as Head Start. Head start a program under the United States Department of Health and Human Services, was recorded in 2007 as serving over 22 million pre-school aged children and their families. Head Start works to educate the whole child in addition to providing health and nutrition services tolow-income families.●Grade and age(2)Britain●Key stageChildren start school either in the year or the term in which they reach five depending upon the policy of the Local Education Authority. All state schools are obliged to follow a centralised National Curriculum. The primary school years are split into Key Stages:<1> Foundation Stage 1 (in a pre-school/childcare environment)Nursery, age 3 to 4<2> Foundation Stage 2 (in an Infant or Primary school)Reception, age 4 to 5<3> Key Stage 1 (in an Infant or Primary school)Year 1, age 5 to 6Year 2, age 6 to 7<4> Key Stage 2 (in Junior or Primary school)Year 3, age 7 to 8Year 4, age 8 to 9Year 5, age 9 to 10Year 6, age 10 to 11DiscussionThe pros and cons of primary1USA(1) AdvantagesChildren can laugh loudly and discuss free in class, they can even sat floor with their teachers-----it is just like playing games and the atmosphere in class in casual and relaxed. Schools are asked not only to teach new information, but to help students ask their own questions about it. The “inquiry” method of learning focus on solving problems rather than memorizing facts, besides from kindergarten to the 12th grade ,they attend classes for an average of five hours a day, five days a week, until the beginning of the following summer. Therefore, school is over at 3p.m, after which students will hang out with their friends, few of ones devote to homework, which, by the way is very easy. If you ask an American child who does the best job in class,99%of them can not tell but if you questions are whose sports is best; nearly all of them get the answer. The reason why Americans care litter about scores is that they do not focus on study only, but also sports, the ability of social communication and so on. In a world, they care more about comprehensive capacity.(2) DisadvantagesBut it also has some disadvantages, it is when the young people finish the compulsory education, they will join in low-skill and income work. it is not helpful to improve society labor quality development, productivity level and international competitiveness skill.2 Britain(1) AdvantagesOne major advantage of UK education is the main role is student not the teacher. They will let the student full of creativity. Another advantage is The British teachers have more salary than the Chinese teachers have, the UK head teachers have much more than his employee, but in China the principal’s salary is a little bit higher than his staff.Primary (or elementary) school teaches the basics of language, culture, math, writing and learning how to read. It is increasingly difficult to learn these skills later in life, especially when juggling studying with work, family and other adult issues.School provides access to the library, school counselor, assemblies, chorus, band and other opportunities---resources children of poorer families would not normally have access to.(2) DisadvantagesFour and five-year-olds tended to be at a stage where they were just "tuning in" to learning and that they could be "turned off" if they were made to follow too formal a curriculum, too early on. This would be of particular benefit to children from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with speech and language delays, she added. But it would not hold back brighter children who were ready to begin basic numeric and literacy in reception classes.3China(1) AdvantagesChinese education system has more advantage and disadvantage. How about the advantages? China practice Exam-oriented education and Quality education. Chinese students study very hard, because it implements College Entrance Examination to check the student’s ability. This system could let students have tough basic, it is helpful for consolidate student’s knowledge. The other advantage is it can promote social development and overall citizens quilting. In China, education is held in high esteem and teachers enjoy high status in the community. Students generally respect their teachers, take pride in being studious and behave well in class. Pupils in the study took on administrative and domestic responsibilities (such as cleaning) for the school and supported each others’ learning.Prepare for Adulthood Without a basic education, finding a job as an adult is incredibly difficult. Children who value education become adults who make great contributions to society.(3)DisadvantagesIn China students just learn for exams, or in the other words, it isscore-oriented. Everyday children get up early and carry heavy bags to school. When come back home with sunset. They are faced with overloaded tough homework, which adults can not work out. even on weekends they are forced to take many boring courses such as math and Chinese , which are to difficult for a primary student .pupils work hard every second just for a high grade to satisfy their parents and teachers. We always say that Chinese students are like birds in cages -----they have litter freedom●The way to select talent personAs we all know, now the only way to select talented person in China is examination。

A*\A\B\C\D\E\F\U。

A-Level

1American Education vs British Education: Which One is Better?Hello everyone! Today, I want to talk about education. Education is super important because it helps us learn new things and prepares us for the future. Did you know that there are different types of education around the world? Two popular types are American education and British education. Let's find out more about them and see which one is better!American EducationIn the United States, schools have a different style of teaching. They focus on creativity, critical thinking, and independence. Students are encouraged to express their opinions and ideas. American schools often have a variety of activities such as sports, clubs, and arts programs. This helps students explore their interests and develop their talents.Another interesting thing about American education is the grading system. Instead of using numbers, they use letters like A, B, C, D, and F. It's easier to understand and gives students a clear idea of their performance.British EducationNow, let's talk about British education. In the United Kingdom, schools have a more traditional approach to teaching. They emphasize on academic subjects like math, science, and literature. British schools focus on discipline, structure, and following rules. Students wear uniforms and are expected to be respectful to their teachers. One unique feature of British education is the house system. Students are assigned to different houses and compete in various activities. It promotes teamwork and a sense of belonging among students.Which One is Better? Now comes the big question – which education system is better? Well, it's hard to say because both American and British education have their strengths.American education encourages creativity and independent thinking, which helps students become more innovative. It alsooffers a wide range of extracurricular activities, giving students the opportunity to explore their interests beyond academics. On the other hand, British education focuses more on academic subjects, which helps students develop a strong foundation in key areas of knowledge. The emphasis on discipline and following rules can help students develop good habits and a sense of responsibility. The Best of Both WorldsInstead of choosing one over the other, why not take the best of both worlds? We can learn from American education by encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and providing a variety of extracurricular activities. At the same time, we can adopt the discipline and strong academic foundation from British education.Education is not a competition between countries but a journey of self-improvement. We can learn from different systems and create an education that is best suited for us!In conclusion, both American education and British education have their own advantages. It's up to us to take the best parts and create an education system that helps us become well-rounded individuals. Remember, the most important thingis to enjoy learning and make the most of the opportunities we have!I hope you enjoyed reading my essay. Remember to always keep learning and exploring new things. Education is the key to a brighter future!篇2American Education vs. British EducationHello everyone! Today, I want to talk about two different types of education: American education and British education. As a primary school student, I have noticed some interesting differences between these two systems.Firstly, let's talk about American education. In the United States, students usually have more freedom to choose their own subjects. They can explore various subjects and have a wider range of options. For example, if a student is interested in both science and art, they can take classes in both areas. This allows students to discover their true passions and talents. On the other hand, British education focuses more on a structured curriculum. Students have a set of core subjects that they must study, such as English, mathematics, science, andhistory. The curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in these subjects. Although there might be less flexibility in choosing subjects, this system ensures that students have a thorough understanding of the basics.Another difference between American and British education is the grading system. In the United States, students are often graded on a point-based system, where they accumulate points for each assignment or test. These points are then converted into a final grade. This system encourages students to work consistently and strive for high scores. In contrast, British education commonly uses a letter-based grading system. Students receive grades such as A, B, C, or D for their performance. This system gives a clear indication of a student's achievement level. For example, an A represents excellent work, while a D indicates that improvement is needed. This system helps students understand their strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, extracurricular activities play a significant role in American education. Students are encouraged to participate in sports, music, drama, and other activities outside of regular classes. These activities promote teamwork, creativity, and overall personal development. In British education, extracurricular activities are also valued, but they might not be as emphasized as in the American system. The focus is primarily on academic achievements and examinations. However, some schools do offer extracurricular clubs and societies for students to join and explore their interests. Both American and British education systems have their own advantages. American education provides flexibility and encourages students to pursue their passions. On the other hand, British education offers a structured curriculum and emphasizes academic excellence. In conclusion, American and British education systems have distinct characteristics. American education promotes freedom of choice and flexibility, while British education focuses on a structured curriculum and academic achievements. Both systems have their merits, and it's important to understand and appreciate the differences. As primary school students, we can learn from both systems and develop into well-rounded individuals.I hope you enjoyed my essay. Thank you for listening!篇3My Views on American and British EducationHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. I've lived in both the United States and the United Kingdom, so I've experienced the education systems in both countries. I wanted to share my thoughts on the differences between American and British schools. The first big difference is the terminology we use. In the US, we have elementary school, middle school, and high school. But in the UK, the levels are called primary school, secondary school, and then college or sixth form. The ages don't quite line up the same either. American elementary schools go from kindergarten to 5th grade, while British primary schools go from reception to year 6.Another vocabulary difference is how we refer to the teachers. In American schools, they are just called "teachers." But I noticed in my British school, they were called things like "form tutor" or "head of year." There seemed to be a lot more title variations in the UK schools. The classroom set-ups are fairly similar, with rows of desks or tables facing a board or screen at the front where the teacher presents lessons. However, I noticed more ClassroomDisplays and decorations on the walls in my American classroomscompared to the rather plain walls in Britain. The British classroom environments felt a bit more strict and minimalist.I'm going to talk about two other major differences I experienced: the curriculum and the overall teaching styles. In the US, especially in the younger grades, the lessons involved a lot more hands-on activities, games, movement, and creativity-based projects. We spent a lot of time cutting, pasting, coloring, and making artistic displays. The curriculum also included more creative writing assignments and classplays/performances.In contrast, the teaching in my UK primary school was much more focused on lectures, note-taking, memorization, and exam preparation right from an early age. There was a bigger emphasis on studying literature, mathematics, sciences, and grammarin-depth through textbooks rather than the more exploratory activities I was used to in America.Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed both the American and British approaches for different reasons. The American method with more games and art felt a lot more fun and engaging, especially for younger kids. It allowed us to learn through play and express our creativity. At the same time, I can see how the Britishsystem's rigorous academics and focus on building a strong knowledge foundation is extremely valuable too.I was actually a bit nervous switching to the British curriculum because the workload, testing, and overall academic intensity felt higher than what I was used to at that age in the States. But I can definitely say that the in-depth lessons across subjects like English literature and maths gave me exceptional reading, writing, and analytical skills. So those are some of the major contrasts I experienced between education in America and Britain. I'm honestly quite grateful to have been immersed in both systems because I believe I reaped the benefits of both the nurturing creative approach and the academically rigorous training. My ideal "dream" school would be a hybrid that incorporates the best of both worlds. In the earliest years, I would want the classroom to have an encouraging environment with plenty of hands-on, artistic activities to spark curiosity and imagination. As students progress, I would gradually increase study from quality textbooks and literary works while still allowing time for creative projects. No matter which approach is taken, I think the most important factor is having supportive, passionate teachers whocan make any lesson engaging and inspiring. With great teachers and a balanced curriculum, students can become well-rounded learners - inquisitive about the world around them while also building strong fundamentals across core subjects. Those are just my thoughts after experiencing American and British education as a student so far. While both systems have their merits, I hope schools will consider blending the nurturing creativity of American-style lessons with British academics to develop a new generation of innovative freethinkers and scholars. What do you all think? I'd love to hear your perspectives too!篇4American Education vs. British EducationHi everyone! Today, I want to talk about American education and British education. They are different in many ways, and I'm going to share my thoughts on them.Let's start with American education. In the United States, education focuses on individuality and creativity. Students have more freedom to choose their subjects and explore their interests. They can take a variety of classes like arts, music, and sports. This helps them discover their passions and develop theirtalents. American schools also encourage students to think critically and express their opinions. They often have class discussions and debates, which I think is really cool!On the other hand, British education has a more structured approach. Students in the United Kingdom follow a set curriculum and take standardized tests. The emphasis is on academic achievement and discipline. British schools have a strong focus on core subjects like math, science, and English. They believe in building a strong foundation of knowledge. Students also wear uniforms, which I think looks really smart! Both American and British education systems have their advantages. In American schools, I like that I can choose what I want to learn and try different things. It helps me discover my interests and strengths. I also enjoy expressing my ideas and listening to others during class discussions. It makes learning more interactive and fun!On the other hand, British education provides a structured learning environment. It teaches me discipline and the importance of hard work. The focus on core subjects ensures that I have a strong academic foundation. Wearing uniforms gives me a sense of belonging and unity with my classmates. However, there are also some challenges in both systems. In American schools, sometimes too much freedom can be overwhelming. With so many choices, it can be hard to decide what to study. Also, the emphasis on creativity and individuality may mean less focus on core subjects. Sometimes, I wish there was more structure and discipline. In British schools, the strict curriculum and standardized tests can create a lot of pressure. It's important to perform well academically, but it can be stressful at times. Sometimes, I wish there was more room for creativity and exploring different subjects. In conclusion, American and British education systems have their own unique features. American education encourages individuality, creativity, and critical thinking, while British education focuses on academic achievement and discipline. Both systems have their strengths and challenges. I believe that a combination of the two could create an ideal education system. It would provide students with the freedom to explore their interests while also ensuring a strong academic foundation. That's it for my thoughts on American and British education.I hope you found it interesting! Remember, both systems havesomething valuable to offer, and it's important to embrace diversity in education.Thank you for reading!篇5A Tale of Two Education Systems: American and British EducationHello everyone!

The Best You Can Be——你能成就极至,反映出了他们的教育理念和始终追求的信仰。

Education systems across the globe vary significantly, with the British and American systems being particularly noteworthy. While both systems have their unique strengths and weaknesses, the differences between them are profound and reflect the distinct cultural and historical backgrounds of each country. This essay aims to explore the key differences between British and American education, focusing on curriculum content, teaching methods, assessment criteria, and the role of education in society. Curriculum ContentThe British education system is known for its focus on a broad and balanced curriculum that emphasizes the core subjects of English, mathematics, and science. British schools also place a strong emphasis on the humanities, including history, geography, and languages, which are considered integral to developing a well-rounded understanding of the world. By contrast, the American education system tends to be more flexible, allowing for more elective courses and a greater focus on practical, hands-on learning. American schools often provide a broaderrange of subjects, including those related to the arts, technology, and vocational training.Teaching MethodsTeaching methods in British schools tend to be more traditional, with a focus on lectures and textbooks. Teachers play a directive role, guiding students through the material and ensuring that they are meeting the required standards. In contrast, American schools often adopt a more student-centered approach, encouraging active learning and hands-on experiences. Teachers in the United States tend to act as facilitators, guiding students towards independent discovery and encouraging critical thinking.Assessment CriteriaAssessment criteria in British schools are typically more focused on academic achievement, with exams and tests playing a significant role. British students are expected to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in core subjects and to achieve high grades in order to progress to the next level of education. In the United States, however, assessment is often more diverse, incorporating a range ofcriteria such as participation, creativity, and practical skills. American schools also tend to place a greater emphasis on continuous assessment, with teachers providing regular feedback to students throughout the year. The Role of Education in SocietyThe role of education in British society is highly valued, with a strong emphasis on academic excellence and the pursuit of higher education. British society tends to view education as a means of social mobility and as a prerequisite for success in many professions. In the United States, education is also highly valued, but there is a greater emphasis on practicality and vocational training. American society tends to view education as a means of preparing students for the workforce and as a tool for economic growth and development. In conclusion, the differences between British and American education systems are numerous and reflect the distinct cultural and historical backgrounds of each country. British education focuses on a broad and balanced curriculum, traditional teaching methods, and academic assessment, while American education emphasizes flexibility,student-centered learning, and a more diverse range of assessment criteria. Both systems have their strengths and weaknesses, and it is important to recognize the value of both approaches in order to create a more comprehensive and inclusive education system.**英式教育与美式教育的差异**全球的教育体系存在显著的差异,其中英式教育和美式教育尤为引人注目。

从宏观管理体制上来说,英国大学由各高等教育基金委员会负责管理,而美国的公立大学由各州政府负责,私立大学自主自治管理;
从学制上来说,英国实行学期制,缺乏弹性不能转学与转专业,而美国实行学分制,转学与转专业普遍与灵活,学校间学分互换;
从校内管理模式上来看,英国实行学院制,各学院自治,独立于大学,学院权力大于大学,而美国实行院系制,系是美国大学最基本的学术单位,也是最重要的学术权力中心;
从教育理念上来说,英国的通识教育差一点,更多的实行专识教育、学术金本位,而美国的则是普遍的通识教育;
从培养目标上来看,英国教育培养的是学术人才,而美国培养的是领导者、开拓者与实干家;从培养方式来看,英国接近于我国,实行授课型教育,而美国教育则实行自由选课、参与科研、研讨式教学;

文理学院不分专业,以培养精神领袖为目标学习;
