2018年上海高考英语作文范文

2018年上海高考英语作文范文In the summer of 2018, high school students across Shanghai sat down for one of the most pivotal exams of their academic lives: the English portion of the National College Entrance Examination, commonly known as the Gaokao. For many, this exam represents not just a test of language proficiency, but a gateway to higher education and future career prospects. The essay section, in particular, is a critical component of the Shanghai Gaokao English exam. It challenges students to articulate their thoughts clearly and coherently on a given topic within a limited timeframe. Let's explore what constitutes an exemplary essay from the 2018 Shanghai Gaokao, analyzing its structure, content, and language use.One notable essay prompt from that year asked students to reflect on the impact of technology on interpersonal communication. This topic is especially relevant in today's digitally connected world, where face-to-face interactions can be overshadowed by virtual exchanges. In their essays, students were expected to demonstrate a nuanced understanding of both the advantages and disadvantages of technology in communication. They needed to illustrate how technological advancements have facilitated instant communication over long distances, promoted cultural exchange, and enhanced productivity in various fields. However, they were also encouraged to delve into the potential drawbacks, such as reduced face-to-face interaction leading to social isolation, misunderstanding in online communication, and privacy concerns.A well-structured essay typically began with an introduction that set the stage by defining the topic and perhaps offering a brief historical context or personal anecdote related to technology and communication. This introduction would smoothly transition into the body paragraphs, where students would present their arguments supported by specific examples or statistics. Each body paragraph would focus on a different aspect of the topic, ensuring a balanced discussion of both the positive and negative impacts of technology on interpersonal communication. Students were encouraged to use transitions effectively to connect ideas and maintain coherence throughout the essay. For instance, phrases like "Moreover," "On the other hand," and "Conversely," helped to signal shifts in perspective or the introduction of a contrasting viewpoint. In the conclusion, students were tasked with summarizing their main points and providing a thoughtful reflection or prediction regarding the future of interpersonal communication in an increasingly digital age. This concluding paragraph often served as a platform for students to express their personal views or propose potential solutions to mitigate the negative effects of technology on face-to-face interaction.Language proficiency was also a key criterion for scoring. Essays that demonstrated a wide range of vocabulary, varied sentence structures, and accurate grammar usage typically received higher marks. Moreover, the use of cohesive devices such as pronouns, conjunctions, and transitional phrases played a crucial role in ensuring the logical flow of ideas from one paragraph to the next.In essence, the 2018 Shanghai Gaokao English essay exemplified the need for students to not only master the English language but also to engage critically with contemporary issues. By addressing the impact of technology on interpersonal communication in a well-organized and articulate manner, students demonstrated their ability to think analytically and express their ideas effectively. As Shanghai continues to evolve as a global center of innovation and technology, the skills honed during the Gaokao—particularly in essay writing—will undoubtedly prove invaluable to the future success of its students in an increasingly interconnected world. Thus, the 2018 Gaokao English essay serves not just as a benchmark of academic achievement, but as a testament to the adaptability and intellectual rigor of Shanghai's young minds.。

这种投入的原因是?这是政府财政最合理的使用领域?Band 8.0 Sample Essay 8分范文Recently, an ample amount of governmental investment money is being poured into the amelioration of the Internet supply. This phenomenon has its root from a host of factors, and I would discuss that there are various available ways to allocate this money more effectively. To begin with, it is understandable why enhancing the quality of the Internet provision has become a key national investment portfolio. Firstly, with the availability of a better Internet connection, an extensive avenue of information is opened up for the inhabitants. Most residents would have omnipresent access to both international and local social news, and it has never been easier for those who live in remote areas to reach a wide range of information at a click of a button. Secondly, an improved Internet supply can facilitate the operation process of governmental companies. With stably-functioning online platforms, corporations today would no longer find it difficult to approach their customers, manage their employees or organise video conferences, which boosts the overall productivity. In the long run, the development of such firms makes great contribution to the thriving of the national economy. However, I believe that upgrading the Internet access is not the best way to allocate the government money. The primary reason is that the broadband connection in most countries today is fast enough to satisfy the basic demands of the public. For example, in China, hardly do individuals have to wait a long time for a web page to load, while online business meetings have even become popular years ago. Therefore, an improvement in the quality of the Internet supply can be deemed not obligatory and urgent. Another justification is that there are several other fields which are being placed under strain and require the capital disbursement to function. To illustrate, a number of state hospitals in the UK have been conducting research on a complete cure for cancer, and it seems that this should be the investment priority. In final words, all aforementioned standpoints lead me to a concrete inference that it is reasonable of the authorities to spend money bettering the Internet provision, but there are ways to allocate the capital more appropriately.文章在使用大量相对而言复杂的用词的同时(外在的),兼顾了文章的较有说服力的说理过程(内在的),没有丝毫的模板感觉。

Do we need other people in order to understand ourselves? Most parents and teachers tell students the extremely tired cliché of the consequences of following the crowd. It is said that, in order to be a competely individual thinker, one must ignore what others say. Such advice is certainly true to some extent; ueasonable malice must be forgotten in order to keep some level of self-esteem. However, as with most ideas, this one can not be taken in absolute form. In at least some respects, we need other people in order to understand ourselves. An excellent example of a literary character who could have psychologically benefitted from social interaction is J. Alfred Prufrock from T.S. Eliot’s poem “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.” In the poem, Prufrck desires a relationship with a woman very much, but he refrains from initiating conversation because he fears that he could not hold the interest of a sophisticated lady. Should Prufrock have taken the step to accept other people into his life, he most likely would have discovered, as the reader of the poem certainly did, that he is most articulate. Others would have impressed upon him the beauty of his words and his talent for prose. If Prufrock would have spoken his song a loud, the ladies surely would have shown him what he himself did not understand. Since the ladies would reveal Prufrock’s talents to h im, it is true that we need others in order to understand ourselves.SATThe lesson of learning from other’s opinions of yourself extends much farther than the song of a fictional character. Two days ago, in an art class, my group of students had assigned self portraits due. Most of us brought in photographs of ourselves. Nevertheless, one boy brought nothing and handed us all slips of paper. He told us to write a word to describe him, and when we had done so, he pasted thewords on a poster. This must have been a revealing exercise for him because, upon the sight of such descriptions as “bitter” and “sarcastic”, he was shocked. In the case of this boy, he had not realized how his personality appeared to others. Though he might not have thought himself “bitter”, his friend’s comments certainly made him seem that way. The fact that we need others in order to understand ourselves is clearly shown by this boy’s revelation.(389)大家觉得这篇作文是不是有优秀呢,收尾表达明确,内容清晰明了,段落及字数都达到标准水平,希望大家能够参照此文章,顺利考取SAT写作高分,最后预祝大家在SAT写作中取得好成绩!(来源:/)篇二:SAT写作范文一篇In 201X, a devastating earthquake struck Wenchuan, a small town of Sichuan, china. Shortly after the disaster, many countries expressed their sympathy and humanity support by either donating large sum of money or delivering millions of tons of items, both of which served as a big relief in such a case. It was because of the helps from all over the world that the people who survived the earthquake could walk through the difficulties and recovered from the great pain quickly. This event can be a good example to show the significance of global care. As the result of development of modern telecommunication, the geographic boundary has no longer been such a big barrier to limit the flow of information between countries. We suddenly become more informed of the issues of people from other countries. We can almost feel what other country’s people feel especially when they are in big troubles because we are the same race! Sympathy is a deeply rooted human nature. However, there are also so me people who don’t think so. In their views, the limited resources should only be granted to those who speak the same language as they do. They forget a fact that some day they could be in trouble. If they refuse to help others no one will help them in return. So we should care the people not only from our own country but also from other countries no matter how different they look from us!篇三:SAT写作范文Abraham Lincoln said, "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." In other words, our personal level ofsatisfaction is entirely within our control. Otherwise, why would the same experience disappoint one person but delight another? Happiness is not an accident but a choice.Assignment: Is happiness something over which people have no control, or can people choose to be happy? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observations. My Essay:Happiness is an elixir to all diseases, so everyone wants happiness and most of them think that it comes from success. But even if wefail something, we can still choose to be happy.Last year, our school held a basketball competition. Our class had entered into thesemi-final and all the students in our class were very excited. Moreover, we had just beaten the team which was considered the bestin our grade and my classmates were hopeful that we might enter the final game. On the day of the semi-final, the players of our team went to the field in our cheers. But as soon as we saw the members of the other team, we knew it would be a hard match. One of the players in their team is as tall as 1.93 m, much taller than any of our players and we also learned that their team was the only one which hadn’t lost a single game. The match started. To our disappointment, our team wasn’t playing well, and the best player in our team was followed by the tallest in theirs at every pace. Anxious and worried, we girls jumped onto the platform beside and shouted at the top of our voices. After sometime, it seemed that our cheers had gave my classmates some energy and they began to catch up, slowly but gradually, we were only two points behind. But just at that time, the first ten minutes were over and we came to a stop. The players were tired but hopeful, and we kept cheering them. However, when the match started again, our opponents seemed to become stronger. They got more points and we were soon eleven points behind. Meanwhile, our throats were burning, but wekept shouting for our classmates. Though we caught up some points, at last we lost by only one point. When we got back to the classroom, all of my classmates were disappointed and sad. One of the players even cried. But our teacher came in at that moment and said, “Cheer up everyone, we just lost by one point and we are already the top four. We still have a match and let’s get the third place!” Then one of my classmates suddenly went to the dais and wrote something encouraging on the blackboard and one by one, over ten of our classmates all wrote down the words they wanted to say. All of us were greatly encouraged and smiled. We felta sense of happiness even though we didn’t win.So if we choose to be happy, we’ll be happy. 2018全国卷2英语作文范文Dear Editor,I am writing to express my concern about the increasing number of people who are addicted to playing video games. This issue has been a topic of discussion in our community, and I believe it is time to address it.Firstly, video game addiction is a growing problem among teenagers. Many students spend countless hours playing games, neglecting their studies and other responsibilities. This not only affects their academic performance but also their physical and mental health.Secondly, excessive gaming can lead to social isolation. Teenagers who are addicted to video games often prefer to stay indoors and play rather than engage in social activities with their peers. Schools should implement stricter regulations on the use of electronic devices, especially during school hours. This will help students focus on their studies and reduce the temptation to play games.2. Parents should monitor their children's gaming habits andset limits on the amount of time they can spend playing video games. They should also encourage their children to participate in outdoor activities and social events.3. Community organizations can organize events and workshops to educate teenagers about the dangers of video game addiction and promote healthy lifestyle choices. In conclusion, video game addiction is a serious concern that requires the collective effort of schools, parents, and the community to address. 2018全国卷三英语作文Dear Editor,I am writing to express my concern regarding the recent trend of young people spending more time on the internet than on their studies. As a high school student, I have observed that the internet has become an integral part of our daily lives, providing us with a wealth of information and entertainment. However, it is undeniable that excessive internet usage can have negative impacts on our academic performance. Many students are addicted to online games and social media, which distract them from their studies and lead to a decline in their grades. Moreover, spending too much time online can also affect our physical and mental health, as it can lead to a sedentary lifestyle and exposure to harmful content. To address this issue, I believe that it is crucial for schools and parents to work together to educate students about the importance of balancing their time between online activities and academic pursuits. Schools can implement policies to limit internet access during school hours and provide guidance on responsible internet use. Parents, on the other hand, should monitor their children's online activities and encourage them to engage in other productive activities, such as reading, sports, and hobbies.Furthermore, students themselves should also takeresponsibility for their actions and make a conscious effort to prioritize their studies. They can set goals for their academic performance and allocate time for both study and leisure activities. In conclusion, while the internet offers numerous benefits, it is essential for young people to use it wisely and not let it interfere with their education. By fostering a healthy balance between online and offline activities, we can ensure that our youth can thrive both academically and personally.Sincerely,[Your Name]。

2018全国二卷英语作文范文

2018全国二卷英语作文范文Dear Editor,I am writing to express my concern regarding the increasing amount of time that high school students are spending ontheir phones, which I believe is having a detrimental effect on their studies and social skills.Firstly, the constant use of smartphones can lead to a lack of concentration in class. Students who are preoccupied with their phones are less likely to pay attention to lectures and absorb the material being taught. This can result in poor academic performance and a lack of understanding of the subject matter.Secondly, excessive phone use can also impact students'social development. As they spend more time interacting with their devices rather than their peers, they may miss out on valuable social interactions that are crucial for developing communication skills and building relationships. Moreover, the overuse of smartphones can contribute to a sedentary lifestyle, which is not conducive to maintaining a healthy body and mind. Students who spend hours on their phones are less likely to engage in physical activities, which can lead to obesity and other health issues. To address this issue, I propose that schools implementstricter policies on phone usage during school hours. This could include designated phone-free zones and periods where phones must be switched off or left in lockers. Additionally, educational campaigns could be introduced to raise awareness about the potential negative effects of excessive phone use and to encourage students to strike a balance between their digital and real-world interactions.I hope that my suggestions will be taken into consideration and that we can work together to ensure that our students have the best possible learning environment and opportunities for personal growth.Yours sincerely,Li Hua。

2018年英语高考作文范文

2018年英语高考作文范文It was a hot summer day, and I was feeling restless. I decided to go for a walk in the park to clear my head. As I strolled along the path, I couldn't help but notice the vibrant colors of the flowers and the sound of birds chirping in the trees. It was a peaceful moment, and I felt grateful for the beauty of nature.Suddenly, I heard the sound of children laughing and playing nearby. I looked over and saw a group of kids running around, their faces filled with joy and excitement. It reminded me of the simple pleasures of childhood, and I couldn't help but smile at the sight. As I continued my walk, I came across an elderly couple sitting on a bench, holding hands and watching the world go by. Their love and companionship were evident in the way they looked at each other, and it warmed my heart to see such a beautiful bond between two people. After a while, I found a quiet spot to sit and reflect on the day. I realized that sometimes, we get so caught up in our busy lives that we forget to appreciate the little things. The beauty of nature, the laughter of children, and the love between people these are the things that truly matter in life.As I made my way home, I felt a sense of peace and contentment. The simple walk in the park had given me a renewed perspective and a reminder to cherish the moments that make life special.。

Prompt:
Many people believe that our government should do more to solve our problems. After all, how can one individual create more jobs or make roads safer or improve the schools or help to provide any of the other benefits that we have come to enjoy? And yet expecting that the government—rather than individuals—should always come up with the solutions to society's ills may have made us less self-reliant, undermining our independence and self-sufficiency.
Assignment:
Should people take more responsibility for solving problems
that affect their communities or the nation in general? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observation.

Though America has suffered through times of
massive economic distress where government intervention was necessary in maintaining the people’s spirit, America was founded by individuals at town meetings, behind their ploughs, or in peaceful
petition. In today’s relatively stable society, people should feel empowered to make changes and solve problems because countless reforms began at the grassroots level. If people need inspiration or proof, they need only to look to the progressives or the Steimetz twins, who rid the beaches of cigarette butts with their activism.
In the early 1900’s, American government had been congealed into a state of corruption and inaction by the powerful lobbyists of the industries. In this Gilded Age, the disparity between rich and poor were astonishing—while Vanderbilt became a millionaire, millions of factory workers—mostly immigrants—lived in squalor and ate insalubrious food. At this same time, the progressive movement sought to rectify these injustices. Jane Addams, for example, started a settlement house for women workers, where she not only provided child care and financial support, but also campaigned for the abolition of child labor and the creation of laws to protect workers’safety. The actions of hundreds of others like her eventually led to reforms in city government—the referendum, the city council ran by experts, not lobbyists, etc. All these reforms originated at the movement of the individual.
However, movement by individuals does not have to spread nationwide to be effective. In the state of Connecticut, two teenagers who passionately cared for the environment effected state laws to make littering of cigarette butts illegal on beaches. The teens began with
simple cleanup campaigns with friends and family but realized that more action could—and should—be taken. Thence, they began to make trips to state legislature in addition to trips to the beach—instead of collecting butts, they rallied support. Eventually, a law was passed to make their sentiments permanent—however, the impetus started in the minds of two teenagers.
Government is powerful and well-intentioned, but the sordid mechanics of politics often obstruct problem solving. Individuals, however, are not so hampered. In a country where rights not enumerated (explicitly given to the federal gov’t) are for the people, people should see individual action as a right AND responsibility.
