32. On September 25, 1926, the Ford Motor Company started a five-day, 40-hour work week for its factory workers. Although Ford wasn't the first to do this, it was one of the most important in history.
At first, this decision didn't make many other business owners pleased. Some of the owners believed that giving the working men any time off only allowed them to spend more time on wine.
