英语语言教学中要针对不同水平的学生进行教学,提倡学生多角度、有创意的阅读。

语言基础知识主要是语音知识、基本词汇及基本语法三要素的机械组合,要全面认识这三要素各自的特点,打好坚实的语言基础。
学生的英语阅读能力与其词汇量、文化背景知识和阅读策略等密切相关,掌握一定数量的词汇是读好篇章的前提和基础,也必然会影响阅读能力。
因此加大语言的输入量是十分必要的。
长期有意识地坚持阅读和词汇记忆相结合的方法,词汇量不仅能迅速扩大,而且记忆的单词词义也会准确更牢固,使学生从现有的词汇量走进阅读理解的世界,从中吸取营养,获取大量的词汇量达到对篇章的最佳理解。

在阅读中要培养学生在直接感知的字、词、句之间,架设起理解、体会篇章内容的桥梁。

可见,词汇量的扩大和阅读能力的提高是互为因果的双向过程。
另外,要认真体会语篇中的语言特点,如遣词、造句、惯用法、固定搭配,以及一些具有特色的习语、谚语。
3.培养创造性的思维能力阅读理解是读者对篇章所进行的一种积极的思维过程,是学生语言输入和输出的过程。
思维对语言起决定作用,许多语言现象的产生原因必须从思维与语言的关系中去找。
阅读是学生吸取知识和获取信息的重要途径,也是语言输入和输出的过程。
阅读是为了同作者交流思想,获取信息,对篇章所传递的信息进行加工、分析、联想和预测。
学生应以激情与作者产生共鸣,理解作者的写作目的,适身处地的体会作者的思想感情。
学生在阅读时应积极进行有创造性的思维,对于篇章所传递的信息给与积极的思维反应,通过上下文的深层及表层结构来理解作者的意图,与之沟通思想。
培养边阅读,边理解,边记忆的良好阅读习惯,力争做到阅读一遍即能理解全文,并能从篇章中快速的找出相应信息,挖掘篇章的深刻内涵,理解篇章的主旨,体会作者的写作意图,从而根据篇章的相关信息作出合乎逻辑的推理,以达到对篇章深层次的理解,并培养学生发现问题、分析问题、解决问题的能力。
由于中西方思维的差异也影响英汉语篇章结构存在着明显的差异。
英文语,一般按照一条直线进行展开,往往先陈述段落的中心思想,接着分点说明,而后收尾,主题句前或后面的每个句子都必须与中心思想紧密相关,而且细节的发展都用上不同的标记语来保持段落的连贯性。
英语章主要由三个部分构成,即篇章的开篇、主要内容和结论。
英语篇章的段落常常是主题句置于段首,引出段落的主旨,然后围绕段旨铺陈展开,这种段落模式体现出一定的层次性,即主题句为上层,控制着其它句子。
读者在段首能了解全段的中心,比较容易理解全段的内容,段落的形状犹如一座金字塔。
而汉语的语,的段落犹如一座倒金字塔式形状,段落的扩展是先列举一些材料,后概括,归纳或引出结论,这样,主题句安排在段尾就显得顺理成章。
主题句在段尾,以结句出现,作为全段的收束。
段尾在全段中,也是比较重要的位置,能引起读者注意。
汉语语,按照“开篇,说明→历史回顾→现状解释→观点态度→今后任务”这类模式。
汉语大多语篇缺乏主题句,类似“点评式”议论或“体会式”言论。
因此,学生要在篇章阅读时找到篇章各段中的主题句,主题句表达该段落的中心思想。
英语议论文或说明文的段落一般由主题句、扩展句和结尾句三部分组成。
在阅读此类文章时应能迅速找出主题句归纳段意,读完一篇文章后,能归纳出段落大意,才能更好地理解篇章。

多数取自于不同社会文化背景下的优秀篇章,他们代表了英语国家在不同社会历史时期的不同文化,不同民族具有不同的文化背景,不同的价值观念、风俗习惯等。

略读本意是指跳着读或看,从中取得精华之意。
略读篇幅较长的篇章时选用略读是一种较好的选择,在浏览篇章时选取其中的重要部分和重要细节来读,以求抓住精华或梗概。
这种方法可用于对报纸、杂志等的阅读,以求掌握篇章的大概内容,达到扩大知识面,开阔视野的目的。
4.3细读法(detailedreading)学生要根据阅读目的、要求不同,需要对篇章的含义透彻理解时可用细读法,即详细阅读。
