肖申克的救赎影评英文肖申克的救赎影评英文I think this movie is very meaningful. I like it very much. You must think so too. You must all have a lot to say. But according to what we have appointed, I’m the Chair, so please let me show you my opinion first. The story begins with the trial of a young banker, Andy Dufrense, victimized by circumstantial evidence, resulting in a conviction for the murder of his wife and her lover. After a quick conviction, Andy finds himself serving a life sentence at Shawshank prison, with no hope of parole. He exists in this prison only in appearance, keeping his mind free from the drab walls around him. His ability to do this results in the gaining of respect from his fellow inmates, but most of all from Ellis Redding. Ellis, commonly referred to as Red, finds gainful use of his entrepreneurial spirit within the drab walls of Shawshank by dealing in contraband and commodities rare to the confines of prison. Andy\'s demeanor and undeniable sense of hope causes Red to take a deeper look at himself, and the world around him. Andy proves to Red and the other inmates that in the conventional walls of Shawshank prison convention will find no home in his lifestyle. As far as I’m concer ned, this movie shows us three things: freedom, friendship, and hope. If we take a movie as a novel, then <Shawshank Redemption> is a great novel without doubt. It reflects the real social life, and creates several typical characters with Classic Quotes and a few kinds of modifications. This movie organizes the main scenario of the story in a simple way and at the same time using some petty lines. It expresses the subject ina very artistic way. There were three words, the first is freedom. However, what impressed me is nearly everyone in the prison got accustomed to the prison life. What’s more, an old man even suicide after he was set free. I have a very deep feeling of friendship. The second word accrued to me is friendship. Friendship is a necessary in our life. In this movie, the friendship between Andy and Red moved me. It gave me an idea: getting a real friendship is more important than money and power. Friendship is really important, and in my opinion, it is very hard to get a real friendship. When we don’t have a real friend, we will feel very lonely. I may have this feeling during these days. That is really incredibly hard. Also there are some sentences in the movie that really impressed me. The sentence I like most is “hope is a good thing, maybe th e best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” Because I think, it encourages people appreciate the beauty of life, to keep their hope in heart forever. “It was as if some beautiful birds had flapped into our drab little cage and made these walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man in Shawshank felt free.” From this sentence, I start to know that, in fact, something cannot be noticed at all. That is like the freedom of our heart. We need it, just like you have never forgotten it.Another one is: “Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free. A strong man can save himself. A great man can save another.” I like this sentence because it teaches me to let me full of courage and hopes. It urges me to have the determination to succeed. In the end, I want to use a sentence to summarize this movie: Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.。

Both Tim Robbins and Morgan Freemando a fine job in terms of making their roles genuine and appealing, and also inthe way they work so well together. The production values throughout areoutstanding, but this is not a “fancy” film.Rather, it sticks to the story itis telling without resorting to flashy tricks to grab the audience’s attention.Although there is violence, some of it extreme, it is necessary to show the kindof place the prison is and is certainly not gratuitous. The main theme is hope, not despair, and the violence serves only as a backdrop to that message.Unashamedly a feelgood movie, by the end one is wishing only that it wouldcontinue for a few more moments.肖申克的救赎观后感英语篇4Based on the Stephen King (non-horror) novella “Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption”, this is a simple story of hope made remarkable by the interaction between the two lead characters. On the contrary, they arise from the inner needs of human beings, thepursuit of eternal values, and the inspection and discovery of the constantlychanging objective world. And only then will God, or religion and faith, guideyou through your own salvation and your own breakthrough. Ive been readingbuddhist altar sutra, six ancestors huineng founded to "sex" sees the Chinesezen Buddhism, the root is also mastered chan is no longer a way, akind oftheory, a kind of discipline, is no longer the outward things, but of lifeexists in the deep hearts core, which reflects the rationality of religiousnature. Unlike eastern Buddhas who seek ethereality and transcendence, WesternGods may be more fixated on original sin and redemption, but both are productsof the human mind.Andy with their wisdom and perseverance, finally completed the miracle ofthe escape, and let the warden get the deserved punishment. After he got out ofprison, why did he leave instead of following the usual Hollywood logic andtrying to prove his innocence?Because God exists within. Sin and non-sin, at the level of the soul, thereis no need to prove but to constantly examine oneself! When asked again if hehad been reinvented before being paroled, Rhett said frankly, "Reinvented? Idont quite understand the meaning of this word. I used to repent every day, notbecause I was here, or because you thought I should repent. I tried to tell theyoung man who had sinned in the past what was right and wrong, but he could notfind it. Only the old man was left with white hair. The Shawshank Redemptionpointed out the way to salvation. God walks with the human soul at alltimes! In the name of religion, doctrine, law and even justice, many people inmodern society, like The warden NORTON, have lost their basic honesty andcharacter as a human being in the name of personal and group self-interest, inthe name of exculpation, rhetoric and sophistry. When a man is accustomed toacting and without introspection, he has fallen into the hell of eternaldamnation, let alone redemption!肖申克的救赎观后感英语篇7The story took place in 1940. A man who is a banker calledAndy Dufresne, was sent into the Shawshank prison, for he murderer his wife and her lover in bed. However, he was innocent as he said. The new days in the prison were hard to live. It’s violent, heartless and cruel. Nevertheless, A month later, Andy began to make friends with other prisoners. And one of them called Red, who could get anything what he wanted. Andy bought a mallet from him and started his plan to escape. During this time, he did many things: expanding the library, caving stones, helping the corrupt warden to get money or bribe, etc. Then a young prisoner’s coming break his quiet life in jail. But the warden killed the young prisoner the only man that knew Andy was innocent. Then he knew the prison he could not stay any more. It took him 20 years to tunnel secretly and he successfully escaped from the prison. When he got free, Andy sent the evident which could prove the warden corruption, briber and murdering to the policy agency. Before that, Andy had told his best friend Red that his dream---Zihuatanejo, a warm place without memory. After escaping, Andy lived a free life in another identity and made the prison governor arrested. Several years later, Red was approved to leave. for the promise to Andy. Finally, in Zihuyatanejo, they met.The cruel prison life terrified me and the friendship moved me. The story goes to a happy ending---redemption. This film im pressed me a lot. A sentence was said in the film: ’Some birds aren"t meant to be caged, but most birds will choose to stand it.’In this film, as we can see, the Shawshank Prison, which enjails lots of people. They have been in the prison form many years ,so they won’t go abroad. Because they won’t and also they can’t. They lived here for years without hope, and they lived just in the small prison, where nobody knows what is theirdream and what’s their hope. As I remember, a old man Brooks was released after he had been in the jail for 50 years. But he found that the world became completely different from the world he imagined. For example, he seldom see cars before. He felt very strange and helpless to the outside world He can hardly adapt to the new developed world. He would rather stay in the prison. So unfortunately he chose to commit suicide. However, on the contrary, Andy said a converse sentence:’ Some birds aren"t meant to be caged, that"s all. Their feathers are just too bright’ He long for the fre edom and strive for it! What I remember very clearly is someone said that These walls are kind of funny things like that. First, you hate them, then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so you depend on them. That is institutionalizing. But Andy h adn’t been affected. He insisted on his faith of freedom. He dared to pursue his deserved freedom! That’s the first point I appreciate. What’s more, another thing I think is friendship. Of course, Andy’s perseverance and endeavor is the main reason that he succeed in escaping. But it can’t be denying that friendship is also a important reason. Without the friends’ help in the prison, especially red’s, He can’t break the prison, too. Even in the jail which is the most evil place that Andy could make it a significance place. He had transformed a storage room smelling of turpentine into the best prison library in New England. Then the prisoners read the books and got knowledge from it. Andy also helped them to pass the high school equivalency. The glitters of him lighted others’ life. That helps him built many sincere friendships in the prison. He just too bright that didn’t belong to the prison .Then he escape and gained the freedom.Furthermore, the patience, courage and b willpower are thekeys to escape. 20 years, not a short ordeal time, but he endured. He made his plan day by day, week by week and year by year. He never gives up. he took nearly twenty years to dip a tunnel with a little rock hammer which Red said it would take a man 600 years to tunnel under the wall with one of these to fight for his free .And he did it finally. Please imagine, crossing the tunnel he dup, he still should crawled through five hundred yards of shit-smelling foulness. That is the length of five football fields. Then is the last but not least, I think. He has the bright brain ,the never fading persistent, and the most important thing----hope. Just as Andy said to Red: Hope is a good thing, may be the best of things. In this film, Andy show us that how good thing the hope is. Yes , hope is a good thing. Whatever it is, it can’t lock the hope. We all have dream. We all have hope. We all have it and please never give up, like Andy. This film, Shawshank Redemption, teaches me a lot. It deserves to be one of the most overwhelming films in the Hollywood.肖申克的救赎观后感英语篇8Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!I can’t agree with it any more. In the film, the walls of the prison can bind people’s freedom. But they can not deprive people’s hope. The hero, Andy, never abandons the desire for freedom, and he keeps up working for his hope. Every night andy uses the little hammer to dig the wall that in others’ opinion, it will takes hundreds of years to dig through. He makes all preparations for leaving the prison. So he succeeds, and regains the precious freedom. It is hope that helps Andy get through painful prison life and regain the freedom. At the same time, hopesaves his friend’s life too. Therefore, in real life, no matter how difficult the situation is, we shouldn’t give up our hope. We should stick to work hard for the hope. In this way our life will not lose its significance. So please remember, Hope is a good thing, and no good thing ever dies!肖申克的救赎观后感英语篇9The story took place in 1947.the banker Andy, had misjudgment committed the crime of murder which suddenly pushed Andy’s life to a world of hell.He was sentenced to life imprisonment, sent to Shawshank . However, Andy did not give up hope successfully escaped from prison and gave free The story may sound simple, but the truth behind the words is remarkable. When I heard the name of the film first time, I considered the Shawshank to be a man’ name, but in face it is a jail——a hell in the world. Not only for the inhumanity of the jailors——they behaved rudely but also for the jail gnawed at people’ heart by keeping them waiting and waiting as life passed. It seemed that only those utterly worthless people who gave up everything could survive. That’s where the story happened. The part impressed me most is when Andy got out of the jail. He extended his arms in front of him in the heavy rain as if he were welcoming the fresh air and the freedom. At that moment, I saw the faith win the darkness, discharging light dazzling the eyes in the dark blue sky. Under the light, I could feel my recreant innermost being shivering as his voice said: “Remember, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!”That’s why I like this film: it encourages people to fight topreserve the dignity of human beings, to appreciate the beauty of life, and the most important is to keep hope forever. Everyone is the same. The only difference is whether busy living or busy dying.肖申克的救赎观后感英语篇10Remember, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!Andy in the film there is such a word: " Don't forget that there are ... Places ... In the world that are not made up of stone, there is something ... Inside ... That they can not get to ... That is hope ( don't forget the world through walls, all things, there's something inside, that they cannot get to, that they cannot touch, that is hope ) ". Indeed, as ANDY said, the wall can bind our body freedom, even in the system that can bind our spiritual freedom, but only hope can not give up. Lose hope of life is dull, lifeless, and even there is no significance. ANDY in my heart has not abandoned the desire for freedom, but he has also been hope for their own efforts -- every night to use the hammer to dig RED that hundreds of years to dig through the wall. And for RED and BROOKS, they had to give up hope, because in their view of hope can only make yourself more pain, even think hope is the source of the pain. A man in the 19 years of painful prison life, do not give up longing for freedom, this is a kind of spiritual beliefs, so he succeeded, recapturing their freedom, the judgment of the Lord fell quickly.肖申克的救赎观后感英语篇11Today,I will introduce a movie to you.Do you know this movieWho have watched this movie beforeOk, one question for you. Just imagine you are caught by police one day for some reason. All the evidence show that you have killed someone, butactually you are innocent, somebody else is responsible. Finally, you are sent into prison for a sentence of several years. What will you do No evidence can prove your innocence. All of you can think about this question, because it does happen in our real life. what do you thinkNow this happens to the hero in this movie.Let's see what the hero will do.This is our hero,Andy, a banker , whowas wrongly accused of murdering his wife, and is sentenced to two consecutive life sentences at Shawshank. This is Norton, thewarden,a cruel man . Here is Red ,if you're sensitive enough, you can find Red is the first three letters of Redemption, rightRed is rejected for parole after having served twenty years of his sentence.Red and Andy gradually became friends. Red is able to get some small goods for the prisoners, so Andy asked Red for a rock hammer because of his interest in carving rocks .But with this hammer, Andy escaped from the prison. This is amazingAndy dug a big hole on the wall for 19 years and hid it with a poster, just beyond our imagination. He crawled through 500 yards and then a pipe full of shitsmelling dirty water .Finally he got freedom. You know, the freedom is waiting for you out of theshawshank. Consequently, If i were Andy ,i can break through the dirty water. But what about 19 years to dig a big hole. Will you do itAnother thing is , do you think Andy is just keeping digging every day during the 19 yearsOf course not. I think this is the most amazing part of the movie. He played music, every man felt free;he expanded the library by writing one letter per weeks to the government to ask for money to rebuild the liberary; he helped T ommy to read from ABC's.What's more,he helped the guards do tax returns, evenincluding Norton.Of course, he would help Norton, because Norton killed Tommy.Tommy can prove his innocence.Out of the prison ,Andy mailed norton'sevidence of crime to the government, and then his judgment will unavoidable come. Shawshank Redemption133 CabbageAbsolutely ,this is one of my favorite movie . In my opinion ,it is very charming ,and I am much found of this movie . I think the most impressive part is hope ,the hope of freedom,of self value. This movie deliver the hope to us through color, music, choppy, and jerky shots. At the very beginning , Andy is put into prison for being accused of murdering his wife and his wife’s lover. The color is very simple ,outside of the prison ,it is very vibrant ,which means hope ,which means freedom ; inside of the prison ,the color turns into gray and black , which means hopeless life. Andy finally live a life like a caged bird. The most fantasy part is the music. One of the most impressed parts is that when he is making his way out ,the music is very nervous. It could strain my every nerve, it makes me feel his excitement . When he finally manages of escaping from the prison ,the music sounds like a piece of victory symphony ,it sounds like the god is celebrating for his wonderful job . It is freedom’s sign ,after two decades .Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane. at many scenes ,we almost think that Andy is going to give up ,submit to the violence and unfairness. But ,he lives his life in his way ,he keeps fighting against the evil . When Norton kills Tommy and threatenshim ,I can see his helplessness and despair . As the things going , like others ,we all think that Andy suicides , but he rather escapes. It is so mistery and suspenseful . We can clearly see his desire of freedom and his determination . I love this part .Here’s where it makes the most sense. You need it so you don’t forget. Forget that there are place in the world that are not made out of stone That there’s something inside that’s yours, that they can’t touch. We could image how it hard for Andy to do through the time of Tommy’s death and Norton’s merciless rejection. Although ,nothing could cold down his enthusiasm of hope . He always keeps the hope in his heart . It impresses me most . It gives me the faith to be hopeful every moment.Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies! Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.。

肖申克的救赎影评英文
肖申克的救赎影评英文导读: 肖申克的救赎影评英文I think this movie is very meaningful. Andy proves to Red and the other inmates that in the conventional walls of Shawshank prisonconvention will find no home in his lifestyle. As far as I’m concerned, this movie shows us three things: freedom, friendship, and hope. If we take a movie as a novel, then is a great novel without doubt. It reflects the real social life, and creates several typical characters with Classic Quotes and a few kinds of modifications. This movie organizes the main scenario of the story in a simple way and at the same time using some petty lines. It expresses the subject in a very artistic way. Also there are some sentences in the movie that reallyimpressed me. The sentence I like most is “hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”Because I think, it encourages people appreciate the beauty of life, to keep their hope in heart forever. “It was as if some beautiful birds had flapped into our drab little cage and made these walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man in Shawshank felt free.”From this sentence, I start to know that, in fact, something cannot be noticed at all. That is like the freedom of our heart. We need it, just like you have never forgotten it.Another one is: “Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free. A strong man can save himself. A great man can save another.”I like this sentence because it teaches me to let me full of courage and hopes. It urges me to have the determination to succeed. In the end, I want to use a sentence to summarize this movie: Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.。
《The Shawshank Redemption(肖申克的救赎)》英文影评
<The Shawshank Redemption(肖申克的救赎)>英文影评戴雪君Once again I watched the remarkable and impressing mivie——<The Shawshank Redemption>,for the sake of writing the film review. It was a story happened in 1940s.The great banker Andy Dufresne was ordered to serve two life sentences, because of a conviction for the murder of his wife and her lover. He was innocent, but no one can prove it.Then he spent his twenty years in Shawshank Prison, doing many meaningful things for himself and other prisoners. Here comes the instences. He taught the warden,Mr.Hadley, how to get legacy without paying tax just to apply for some beers for his coworkers. So after finishing their jobs, they sat and drink with the sun on their shoulders and felt like free man.He wrote one letter per week to the state senate for six years, asking for expanding the library and get some new books for prisoners. Finally,he transformed a storage room into the best prison library in New England and help a couple of prisoners get their high school equicalency. The grandest thing is that he dug a big hole, using a small rock hammer, for himself to escape from Shawshank. Then a thunderstorm night,he crawled to freedom through 500 yards of shit-smelling foulness. From my perspective,The Shawshank Redemption is a movie about hope, freedom and friendship. Those prisoners got used to restriction and impossible in daily life. As Red,he couldn’t squeeze a drop of piss without asking for permission even when he was out of Shawshank. They lost something inside that others can’t get to,that others can’t touch. That’s hope.Just as Andy wrote in his letter to Red,”Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.”Salvation lies within.Brooks, who stayed in Shawshank for 50 years, wanted to hurt his friend in order to escape conditional release.Once he left the cage,he chose to die instead of showing any happiness.Freedom and factual seemed prison to him. When he was packaging in the supermarket, his fear could be found in every wrinkle. When he was sitting on the bench in the park, the loneliness was stronger than those in the prison.”First, you hate them. Then you get used to them.Enough time pases, you get so you depend on them.That’s’institutionalized.’”So when Andy flung caution to the winds and broadcast <Le Nozze di Figaro>in the loudspeaker, people stayed in silence. They felt that it was something so beautiful. It can’t be expressed in words and make your heart ache because of it.Andy was just like what Red descriped,”Some birds aren’t meant to be caged.Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up dose rejoice.”Red and Andy, their friendship in Shawshank seemed more sincere and purer than ours in earthliness. So when they finally met at the beach ofPacific Ocean under the sunshine,I laughed in front of the screen.。

哈尔滨商业大学广厦学院学期论文浅谈电影《肖申克的救赎》中的希望与自由学生姓名程磊指导教师王立新专业英语专业本科一班学院外语学院2011年12 月20 日Guangsha College of Harbin University of CommerceTerm ThesisHope and Free - On the Theme of Shawshank RedemptionStudent Cheng LeiSupervisor WanglixinSpecialty English Major Class 1School School of Foreign LanguagesDecember 20, 2011Hope and Freedom - On the Theme ofShawshank RedemptionThe story may sound simple, but the truth behind the words is remarkable. When some people heard the name of the film first time, most of them considered the Sh awshank to be a man’ name, but in fact it is a jail’s name - a hell in the world. Not only for the inhumanity of the jailors - they behaved brutally; but also for the jail gnawed at people’ heart by keeping them waiting and waiting as life passed. It seeme d that only those utterly worthless people who gave up everything could survive. That’s where the story happened.“Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” When Andy Dufresne puts it in such a quiet way, my heart ache because of it. Have you ever felt that way about hope? Hope is the only thing in the wild world not carved out of gray stone. Hope is a small place inside of us anyone can never lock away. That is what I’ve learnt from an excellent movie The Shawshank Redem ption. The story begins in 1947, when Andy Dufresne, a city banker, is wrongfully convicted of his wife and her lover. He is sent to Shawshank prison and receives a double life sentence for the crime. In shawshank, Andy forms an extraordinary friendship with Red, a man who knows how to get things from the outside. Andy gets a 5 inches long rockhammer and a huge poster from Red, by which he secretly puts his pipedream into practice. After 20 years digging, Andy tunnels through the prison wall. Then he crawls 500 yards through the sewer and gets out into a ditch near the field beyond the ground of Shawshank, with no equipment, no one knows. On the first viewing, it’s the story of Andy and his struggle to maintain hope despite his circumstances. However, this is really a movie about Red and his struggle to find meaning and purpose. It seems that we are more or less similar with Red, because we’ve got used to the gray walls around us, which stand for routine, and then more routine. If one day, these walls dessolve away, we’ll be afraid instead of free. We’re afraid of not being ruled? That sounds ridiculous, but we actually are! Fortunately, when Red is faced with the same situation as we are, because of Andy, he can find a different path—the path of freedom that is lit by hope.Sometimes, we feel many things have let us down and don’t hope for the good anymore. But I have to say, suffering is not always a bad thing. Suffering produces perseverance, character, and character, hope. If we can see hope through all the hardship, nothing’s gonna stop us marching towards victory!“Fear can hold you prisoner, hope can set you free.” this is a sentence written on the poster of the movie The Shawshank Redemption. It’s a movie about freedom, friendship and hope. An d the aspect that shakes me a lot is “freedom”.What is freedom? It’s a carefree and content breath under the sun. To us, it just like air, so ordinary that you can’t imagine what it will be when you lose it. But to those prisoners, especially those who w ould live there all their lives, it’s a precious happiness out of reach. Andy finally got rid of Shawshank, what made his redemption come true? Maybe his aspiration after freedom, his believing of hope! What is freedom? It’s that blue sky above the prisoners in the wall; it’s Andy’s pure blue eyes where hope revealed; it’s the vision that the prisoners sitting on the roof drinking beers; it’s the little jack that Norton fed flew out of the window; it’s “Le Nozze de Figaro” flying over the roof of heaven in the prison; it’s the arms Andy stretch out in the lightning day; it’s the ocean the heaven the cockleboat…Freedom isn’t always a good thing especially when it comes to Brooks who was discharged from prison and committed suicide in his room. “Brooks was here”- it turned me to a deep think, it’s not a death of a person but a death of individuality and mentality “These walls are kind of funny like that. First you hate them, and then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so you depend on them. That's institutionalized.” When freedom comes so suddenly, it may lose its glary and even become a murderer. Because if there is no support from life, no meanings of survive, then freedom will become an even bigger prison to you.Freedom can linger on in a steadily worsening condition relying on compromise, but can be gained by compromise. Freedom may be glary, but darkness is its premise. Andy got his freedom through a 500 yard cesspool, although it’s rough and humiliated, it had the support of faith then showed the luster that it should have. The movie gives me a invisible strength, it let me know what the most precious things in a person’s life. When we face frustration, embarrassment and defeat, shall we be depressed or struggle, persist in or give up, cease all activities or try our best, The Shawshank Redemption give us a clear answer.Life is what? Get busy living or get busy dying.Hope is the chief happiness the world affords. Hope encourages people to keep fighting for dreams, freedom and dignity. Hope helps people to appreciate the beauty of life. “He once is born, that is die.” Everyone is the same. The only difference is whether you get a busy living or a busy dying. Remember we aren’t the birds that meant to be caged, when we spread our wings an d fly away, we’ll appreciate the trembling of the heart, the singing of the mind, the flying of the soul and the hope to be free.。
