高中英语朗诵稿
高中英语朗诵稿篇一:适合高中生的英语朗读材料1. The Force of HabitsHabits, whether good or bad, are gradually formed. The more we do a thing, the more we tend to like doing it; and if we do not continue to do it, we feel unxxfortable. This is called the force of habits, and the force of habits should be fought against. This applies even to such good things as work or rest. Some people form a bad habit of working too much, and others of idling too much. Bad habits, once formed, are difficult to get rid of.The wise man always remembers to check any bad habit. He warns himself “I am now bexxing idle” or “I like too many sweets” or “I smoke too much”. And then adds, “I will get myself out of this bad habit at once.”

1、Natural ResourcesNature has provided us with many kinds of resources. Almost everything we use in our everyday life comes from Nature. The food we eat, the water we drink, the clothes we wear, the concrete and bricks to build our houses, the materials to make bikes we ride, etc. all come originally from Nature.People have been making use of these natural supplies for thousands of years. With the development of technology and the increase of the population, the amount and range of materials taken has increased. It is estimated that this tread will continue in the years to come. However, natural resources are not in exhaustible. Some resources are already nearly used up. For example, the end of the world’s fuel is already within sight. Such an essential daily item as water is in short supply in many parts of the world. We can no longer thoughtlessly use the many resources provided by Nature. We must learn to conserve what remains.2、I Have A DreamLet us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends. And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.I have a dream today!I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.I have a dream today!I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."?This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with.3、motherLet us take a moment of the time/ just to pay tribute and show appreciation /to the person called MOM /though some may not say it openly to their mother. There’s no one who coul d take the place of her. Cherish every single moment together with her. Though at times she may not be the best of friends, she may not agree to our thoughts, she is still your mother!Your mother will be there for you; to listen to your sorrows, your frustrations, etc. Ask yourself “Have you put aside enough time for her, to listen to her‘blues’ of working in the kitchen, her tiredness?”Show her your due respect, though you may have a different view from hers. Once gone, only fond memories of the past and also regrets will be left.Do not take for granted the things closest to your heart. Love her more than you love yourself, for life is meaningless without her.4、PinesThe pine, placed nearly always among scenes disordered and desolate, bring into them all possible elements of order and precision. Lowland trees may lean to this side and that, though it is but a meadow breeze that bends them or a bank of cowslips from which their trunks lean aslope. But let storm and avalanche do their worst, and let the pine find only a ledge of vertical precipice to cling to, it will nevertheless grow straight. Thrust a rod from its last shoot down the stem; it shall point to the center of the earth as long as the tree lives. It may be well also for lowland branches to reach hither and thither for what they need, and to take all kinds of irregular shape and extension. But the pine is trained to need nothing and endure everything. It is resolvedly whole,self-contained, desiring nothing but rightness, content with restricted completion. Tall or short, it will be straight.5、An Hour Before SunriseAn hour before sunrise in the city there is an air of cold. Solitary desolation about the noiseless streets, which we are accustomed to see thronged at other times by a busy, eager crowd, and over the quiet, closely shut buildings which throughout the day are warming with life. The drunken, the dissipated, and the criminal have disappeared; the more sober and orderly part of the population have not yet awakened to the labors of the day, and the stillness of death is over streets; its very hue seems to be imparted to them, cold and lifeless as they look in the gray, somber light of daybreak. A partially opened bedroom window here and there bespeaks the heat of the weather and the uneasy slumbers of its occupant; and the dim scanty flicker of a light through the blinds of yonder windows denotes the chamber of watching and sickness. Save for that sad light, the streets present no signs of life, nor the houses of habitation. (166 words)6、The Importance of Scientific ExperimentsThe rise of modern science may perhaps be considered to date as far as the time of Roger Bacon, the wonderful monk and philosopher of Oxford, who lived between the years 1214 and 1292. He was probable the first in the middle ages to assert that we must learn science by observing and experimenting on the things around us, and he himself made many remarkable discoveries. Galileo, however who lived more than 300 years later (1564 to 1642), was the greatest of several great men, who in Italy, France, Germany or England, began by degrees to show how many important truths could be discovered by well-directed observation. Before the time of Galileo, learned men believed that large bodies fall more rapidly towards the earth than small ones, because Aristotle said so. But Galileo, going to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, let fall two unequal stones, and proved to some friends, whom he had brought there to see his experiment, that Aristotle was in error. It is Galileo's sprit of going direct to Nature, and verifying our opinions and theories by experiment, that has led to all the great discoveries of modern science.7、The value of TimeThere is a third consideration which will also tend to warn us against loss of time. Our life is a brief span measuring some sixty or seventy years in all, but nearly one half of this has to be spent in sleep; some years have to be spent over our meals; some over dressing and undressing; some in making journeyson land and voyages by sea; some in merry-making, either on our own account or for the sake of others; some in celebrating religious and social festivities; some in watching over the sick-beds of our nearest and dearest relatives. Now if all these years were to be deducted from the tern over which our life extends we shall find about fifteen or twenty years at our disposal for active work. Whoever remembers this can never willingly waste a single moment of his life. "It is astonishing" says Lord Chesterfield "that anyone can squander away in absolute idleness one single moment of that portion of time which is allotted to us in this world. Know the true value of time; snatch, seize, and enjoy every moment of it!"8、Ways of CommunicationWhen you speak, write a letter, or make a telephone call, your words carry a message. People communicate with words. But do you know people also communicate without words A smile on your face shows you are happy or friendly. Tears in your eyes tell others that you are sad. When you raise your hand in class, the teacher knows you want to say something or ask questions. You shake your head and people know you are saying "No". You nod and people know your are saying "Yes".Other things can also carry messages. For example, a sign at the bus stop helps you to know which bus to take. A sign on the wall of your school helps you to find the library. Signs on the doors tell you where to go in or out. Have you ever noticed that there area lot of signs around you and that you receive messages from them all the timePeople can communicate in many other ways. An artist can use his drawings to tell about beautiful mountains, the blue seas and many other things. Books are written to tell you about all the wonderful things in the world and what other people are thinking about.9、Blood, Toil, Sweat and TearsIn this crisis I think I may be pardoned if I do not address the House at any length today, and I hope that any of my friends and colleagues or former colleagues who are affected by the political reconstruction will make all allowances for any lack of ceremony with which it has been necessary to act.I say to the House as I said to Ministers who have joined this government, I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, sweat and tears. We have before us anordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many months of struggle and suffering. You ask, what is our policy I say it is to wage war by land, sea and air. War with all our might and with all the strength God has given up, and to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never10、Accurate or Polite"How far is it to the nest town " The American asked a man standing by the edge of the road. In some countries, because the man realizes that the traveler is tired and eager to reach his destination, he will politely say, "Just down the road." He thinks this is more encouraging, gentler, and therefore the wanted answer. So the American drives through the night, getting more and more angry, feeling "tricked". He thinks the man deliberately lied to him, for obviously he must have known the distance quite well.If conditions had been reversed, the American would have felt he was "cheating" the driver if he had said the nest town was close when he knew it was really 50 miles further on. Although he, too, would be sympathetic to the weary driver, he would say, "You have a good way to go yet; it is at least 50 miles." The driver might be disappointed, but he would know what to expect. Whether to be accurate or polite leads to many misunderstandings between people of different cultures. If you are aware of the situation in advance, it is sometimes easier to recognize the problem.。

1、Lake of AutumnI remember quite clearly now when the story happened. The autumn leaves were floating in measure down to the ground, recovering the lake, where we used to swim like children, under the sun was there to shire. That time we used to be happy. Well, I thought we were. But the truth was that you had been longing to leave me, not daring to tell me. On that precious night, watching the lake, vaguely conscious. You said:" our story is ending."The rain was killing the last days of summer, you had been killing my last breath of love, since a long time ago. I still don't think I'm gonna make it through another love story. You took it all away from me. And there I stand, I knew I was going to be the one left behind. But still I'm watching the lake, vaguely conscious, and I know my life is ending.2、Today Is a New DayBy Donna LevineYour tomorrows are as brightas you want make them. There is no reason to take the darknessof the past with you into today.Today is a wonderful new experience,Full every possibility to make you lifeexactly what you want it to be.Today is the beginning of new happiness, new directions, and new relationships.Today is the day to remind yourself, that you possess the power and strengthyou need to bring contentment, love and joy into your life.Today is the day to understand yourself, and to give yourself the loveand the patience you need.Today is the day to move forwardtowards your bright tomorrow.译:你的明天充满光明,正如你今天的憧憬。

福建省武平县实验中学2020届九年级英语上学期范文朗读素材(Unit 1) 湘教版
九年级英语范文朗读(Unit1)(一)Changes in Our HometownIn the past ten years, great changes have taken place in our hometown. In the past, there used to be old houses. The river was very dirty. The roads w ere narrow and the living conditions were hard. People went to work on foot or by bike. But now, everything has changed a lot since the reform and opening-up. There are many tall buildings in my hometown. The river is clean and the water is clear. There are many wide roads and people’s living conditions are comfortable. People usually go to work by bus or by car. Children can study in a bright and modern school. I am glad to see these great changes in my hometown. But I think it’s still important for us to remember the past, live in the present and dream about the future.(二)The Population ProblemThe population is one of the biggest problems in the world today. China has the largest population with 1.3 billion. It’s about one fifth of the world’s population. A large population causes many difficulties, not only for every family, but also for the whole nation. It has become a serious problem. In many less developed areas, some parents prefer boys to girls. As a result, many girls have no chance to go to school.I think we should do something useful to control the population. One answer is known as the one-child policy. It has worked well in controlling China’s population, but now the population in China is still very serious, we all have a long way to go.(三)May 1st, Saturday Sunny At nine in the morning, I went to the countryside with my classmates. On the way we saw many rice fields and woods on both sides of the road. Farmers have built factories, shops and schools in many villages. Between 10:00 and 12:00 we visited ten families. Many farmers who grew rice and vegetables became rich. Some families have bought color TVs and computers, some farmers have their own cars, too. Their lives have improved a lot than before. It’s said that some American friends would come to their village for a visit.I hope the farmers’ lives will be better and better.(四)Project Hope and IProject Hope is the best way to help many poor students.20 years ago, I was born in a poor family. I lived with my grandparents. They were too old to afford my e ducation. I had to drop out of school. Later with the Project Hope, I went back to school. At the age of 18, I became a college student. Now I work in a bank and live a happy life. I want to help poor students like me. So I raise some money for Project Hope every year. Helping others makes me happy.I hope more and more people can do something useful to help the students in need.(五)Hello, everyone. As we all know, Many people become homeless because of the war. Some of them are children. Some used to be rich but now they lose their warm houses. They have no food to eat or warm clothes to wear. The children have no chance to go to school. The hard living conditions make the homeless children become child laborers. What do you think of their terrible life?Let’s make a wonderful program to help these children live a normal life. I think we should call on (呼吁) ending the war. We should support these poor child laborers by raising money. So they can live in warm houses, get good educations and live happy lives. We hope there will be smiles on their faces. If you’d like to join the program, please come to our comm unity.(六)Changes in Li Ming’s HometownLi Ming’s hometown has changed a lot in the past few years. In the past, people’s living conditions were poor. A big family was crowded in a low house. People usually planted crops with the help of farm animals. And the children studied in an old school. Since the reform and opening-up, his hometown has developed rapidly and there have been great changes there. The living conditions have changed a lot, too. People live in tall and bright buildings. Farmers plant crops with the farm machines instead of farm animals and the work in the fields has become much easier. What’s more, children now study in a big and modern school. Thanks to the government’s efforts, Li Ming’s hometown is becoming better and better.(七)China has the largest population in the world. The large population has caused many problems. For example, in the countryside people’s living conditions are not very good because there are two or more children in one family, and not every child can get a chance to receive a good education. Most of the cities are more crowded than before and the traffic is much heavier. What’s worse, it’s quite difficult for lots of people to find jobs. Luckily, China has taken measures to control the population, such as the one-child policy. Thanks to the policy, the increase of population in China has been controlled. And the country is developing quickly, I hope China will become richer and stronger in the future.(八)The world is becoming better and better. But it still has many problems. Some people are still living a hard life. For example, there’re many homeless people all over the world. They have to live on the streets. Some children have to be child laborers to earn a living. They can’t go to school. What’s worse, sometimes cruel wars break o ut in some areas. I feel sorry for them. I hope society can provide warm houses for these people to live in, and they can enjoy the same community services as others. I hope children can receive a good education and have a happy childhood. I hope there is no more war in the world. I hope the world will be peaceful and full of love, and everyone can live a happy life.(九)Dear Mom and Dad,I’m very happy to visit Beijing again. Great changes have taken place in Beijing. Today I went to Wangfujing Street early in the morning and I had a good time there. Now, there are a lot of new buildings, modern shops and large markets in it, I can see many beautiful flowers and tall green trees on both sides of the street. People in Beijing are working hard to make Beijing more beautiful and they have succeeded in hosting the 29th Olympic Games. What a wonderful change!I hope Beijing will become better and better in the future.Yours, SamUnit 2(一)Saving the EarthHow to protect the environment has become one of the biggest problems in the world. There are many kinds of pollution around us, such as air pollution, noise pollution, water pollution and light pollution. We can find that rubbish not only pollutes our environment but also does harm to people’s health. So we should not throw rubbish everywhere. Some factories pour waste water into the rivers and the lakes. The behavior of these factories will pollute the water, and sometimes it can kill the fish living in them.We have only one earth. We must keep our environment clean and tidy. We must try our best to protect her and make our home more beautiful. (二)My hometown lies at the foot of a small hill. A small river passes by it. There was a chemical factory to the south of my hometown two years ago. It sent out plenty of waste gas into the air and poured lots of waste water into the river. The terrible pollution was harmful to our health. It did great harm to the environment, too.Nowadays, the government has done something to protect the environment and prevent it from polluting the air and water in my hometown. Now, my hometown is becoming more and more beautiful.(三)How to Be a Greener PersonIt’s our duty to protect the environment around us. The three R’s—reduce, reuse and recycle—are important. I think we’d better not buy bottles or boxes which people can use only once. We should turn off the lights when we are not using them. We can give old clothes to others to reuse them. When we go shopping, we ought to take cloth bags instead of using plastic bags. We shouldn’t throw things away everywhere if they can be reused, repaired or recycled. It’s important for us to protect animals and plants. We are supposed to prevent the factory from pouring waste water into rivers, lakes and so on.If we do every thing we can to protect the environment, our world will become more and more beautiful.(四)The Haze(雾霾) in ChinaThe haze is a kind of air pollution. It is becoming more and more serious in our country. The haze is bad for our health, It can cause many kinds of diseases, even cancer. When there is a haze, people can’t see clearly. So it can also cause heavy traffic and traffic accidents. The haze can affect plants, too. They may grow slowly because they can’t get enough sunshine.Everyone should fight against this kind of pollution. We should drive less. We can ride bikes or walk instead. Of course. The government should take measures to stop factories from producing waste ,terrible gas and chemicals. In order to own the blue sky, let’s do everything we can do to reduce the haze.(五)As time goes by, humans are making the earth sick. People cut down too many trees and throw rubbish away here and there. Many factories pour waste water into rivers and lakes. As a result, a lot of rich land has changed into desert, leaving only the sand. Many rivers and lakes are dead now. The air is becoming dirtier and dirtier. The temperature on the earth becomes higher and higher. Many people now have health problems. It’s our duty to protect the earth. I think everyone is supposed to reduce the waste. Recycling can not only protect the environment but also save money. We’d better not buy cups, bottles or boxes which can be used only once. We should plant more trees, grass and flowers to improve our environment around us. If all of us are greener people, our world will become more and more beautiful.(六)How to Protect the AnimalsAnimals are our friends, but human beings often kill them for meat, fur and money. What should we do to protect them? Our government has done something to protect animals, such as passing laws and setting up some nature reserves (自然保护区). Under the laws, we mustn’t hunt or kill these animals or destroy their living conditions. On the other hand, we shouldn’t eat wild animals. Keep them away from our dinner. There will not be wild animals on sale. I think the hunters and killers will become fewer and fewer. Last, we shouldn’t pollute our environment so that animals can have a good living environment. We should stop people from cutting trees down. Without trees or forests, wild animals will lose their homes. And we’ll lose our animal friends. All of us should try our best to protect animals. Let’s s hare the same earth with them, OK?(七)Make Our World More BeautifulTaking care of our environment is very important. Wherever you live or you go, you should remember it for ever.Have you ever thrown any litter onto the ground? Have you ever drawn pictures on the walls? Have you ever spat in public places? Have you ever cut down trees? If your answers are“ No” , it means that you have already helped protect our environment. It’s our duty to keep our environment clean and tidy. You may ask yourself, “Have I ever picked up some rubbish and thrown it into a dustbin? Have I ever collected waste paper, newspapers, soft drink cans or bottles for recycling? Have I ever planted any trees or flowers?”If your answers are “Yes”, it means that you have already done something useful to improve the environment. If everyone makes contributions to protecting the environment, the world will become more beautiful.(八)Good afternoon, every one!We like our school. It’s our duty to keep it clean and tidy. It’s not polite to spit in public, such as in the library, in the dining hall or in the classroom. We shouldn’t draw pictures on the walls or throw litter on the ground because it can influence the look of our school. It’s also a bad habit to walk on the g rass or pick flowers in the school garden. As students, we should say no to the bad behavior. We are supposed to obey the school rules. We ought to do some cleaning every day. If everyone tries their best to do something useful for our school, I’m sure it will be better and better.Let’s make our school more beautiful. That’s all. Thank you!(九)Dear Editor,I’m writing to ask for your help. There are many factories in my hometown. Some of them pour waste water into the river nearby. The smell is terrible and makes us sick, Some factories make too much noise day and night. The loud noise makes us uncomfortable. It not only disturbs our sleep but also does great harm to our hearing. Other factories produce terrible gas. It has caused breathing problems and even cancer. Those kinds of pollution are very harmful to our health,I hope our local government will solve these problems as soon as possible.Yours,Li Hong(十)My New HometownWith the help of our government and the hard work of all the people around here, my hometown has become more beautiful. We don’t smell terrible gas any more and black smoke has disappeared. More and more people travel by bike, in electric cars or on buses, The air is fresh and clean, Factories no longer pour dirty water into rivers and lakes. And fish swim freely and happily in the water. On weekends, people like to walk along the rivers or swim in the lakes. A lot of trees, grass and flowers make my hometown look like a beautiful garden. More and more birds fly back, singing and dancing in the blue sky.Now people here live a happy and healthy life,(十一) How to Save Wild AnimalsAnimals are human beings’friends. But many wild animals are facing the danger of dying out, because the environment that they are living in has changed greatly. For example, their living area has become narrower and narrower because of the development of cities and pollution. They have no rooms to live in except in the zoos. Many wild animals now can’t find enough food to eat. At the same time, humans hunt animals and kill them for their fur, skin, teeth and meat.People should realize how serious the situation is and something must be done to protect the animals. We are su pposed to set up some nature reserves so that animals can live freely in their homes. Besides, people should obey the laws of nature. We shouldn’t kill the endangered animals or eat their meat. We should also do something useful to make our world cleaner. Fresh air, clean water and grass are important for animals.Save wild animals, save ourselves.(十二) Light PollutionI’d like to tell you something about light pollution. All kinds of strong and harmful lights cause light pollution. For example, the sunshine gets stronger when it shines on the glass of buildings. The colorful lights at parties and concerts can also cause light pollution. Hotels, restaurants and markets signs use all kinds of light which cause light pollution, too.Light pollution does great harm to people’s eyes, It makes people feel bad. Sometimes it can even cause cancer. And too many lights affect animals’ life at night. They make some animals lose their way home. We must do something to reduce light pollution.。

以下是一段适合朗读的英语短文素材:Title: "The Power of Gratitude"Gratitude is a powerful emotion that can change our lives. When we express thankfulness for the things we have, instead of focusing on what we lack, our perspective changes. We become more positive and appreciative of the people and opportunities in our lives. One simple way to practice gratitude is by keeping a gratitude journal. Every day, take a few minutes to write down three things you are grateful for. It could be as small as enjoying a delicious cup of coffee or as big as being grateful for the support of family and friends. Over time, this habit will train your mind to look for the good in every situation.Another way to cultivate gratitude is by expressing it to others. A heartfelt thank-you can make someone's day and strengthen relationships. Whether it's a friend who listened when you needed to talk or a coworker who helped you with a project, taking the time toacknowledge their kindness will not only lift their spirits but also yours. In conclusion, gratitude is not just a polite gesture, it's a mindset that can bring more joy and satisfaction into our lives. By practicing gratitude daily, we can focus on the abundance we have rather than the scarcity, and live a more fulfilling life.

1A Day in My LifeHey there! My name is Lily and I'm a middle school student here in Fujian Province. I thought I'd give you a peek into a typical day in my life. Grab a snack and get comfortable, because this is going to be a long one!It all starts with the obnoxious beeping of my alarm clock at the ungodly hour of 6 AM. I'm definitely not a morning person, so dragging myself out of my warm, cozy bed is always a struggle. But I know I have to be at school by 7:30, so I begrudgingly roll out of bed and start my morning routine. After splashing some water on my face to wake myself up, I throw on my uniform - a plain white shirt and navy blue pants or skirt. It's not the most fashionable outfit, but at least it's comfortable. I quickly run a brush through my long black hair to tame it into two neat braids. Can't have it getting in my face during class!Downstairs, I'm greeted by the amazing smells of my mom's cooking. Even though we're rushed in the mornings, she always insists on making me a proper breakfast. Today it's congee with preserved eggs and lean pork. She knows it's my favorite! I inhale the delicious meal in just a few minutes.By 7:15, I've brushed my teeth, put on my shoes, and am out the door with my backpack in tow. The walk to school takes about 15 minutes. I meet up with my best friend Mei Ling about halfway there, and we chat and giggle the rest of the way.We arrive at Fuzhou Number 3 Middle School right as the bell rings at 7:30. We quickly take our seats in Ms. Wang's homeroom class for morning readings and announcements. The familiar smell of dusty old books fills the air.The morning flies by with classes like math, Chinese literature, and physics. My brain is pretty fried by the time the lunch bell rings at 11:45. Mei Ling and I race down to the cafeteria to beat the crowds. Even though the food isn't gourmet, I'm starving after my brainpower has been drained for half a day! After re-fueling on some stir-fried vegetables, steamed rice, and a piece of fruit, Mei Ling and I spend our lunch break on the basketball court shooting some hoops. Getting some physical activity in the middle of the day really helps re-energize me.In the afternoon, we have classes like English, history, and geography. English is one of my favorite subjects since I dream of traveling the world one day. But by the last class at 5 PM, I'll admit that my attention span is pretty much shot. I'm just counting down the minutes until the final bell rings.Freedom at last! I meet up with Mei Ling again and we start the 15 minute journey back home, rehashing all the latest school gossip and drama along the way. We stop at a street stall to buy some fried dough fritters covered in sweet condensed milk - the perfect afternoon snack.Once home, I kick off my shoes, grab a glass of iced lemon tea, and head straight to my room to get started on homework. Chinese, English, and math assignments keep me occupied for a few grueling hours. My poor brain is pretty fried by the time I'm finished around 8 PM.I head downstairs where my dad is watching the evening news and slump onto the couch next to him. We chat about our days as my mom prepares dinner - tonight it's stir-fried beef and vegetables over noodles, one of my favorites! After the hearty homecooked meal, I take a shower to refresh myself, then settle in for a couple of hours of downtime before bed. I switch between reading a historical fiction novel forschool, watching a few episodes of my favorite drama, and chatting on messaging apps with Mei Ling and a few other friends.By 11 PM, I'm feeling pretty sleepy, so I get ready for bed and crawl under my covers. I set my alarm for 6 AM again - sadly, this cycle will just repeat tomorrow! But overall, while my days are busy and tiring, they're still filled with plenty of fun times with friends and family. I wouldn't have it any other way!篇2A Day in the Life of a Middle School StudentHey there! My name is Li Ming and I'm a 15-year-old middle school student in Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian Province. Today I'd like to give you all a glimpse into a typical day in my life as an 8th grader. The day starts way too early if you ask me - my alarm clock ruthlessly starts blaring at 6:30 am. I hit snooze once or twice before finally dragging myself out of my warm, cozy bed. After getting dressed in my school uniform of a white shirt and navy pants, I head to the kitchen to grab a quick breakfast. Usually it's just a few mantou (steamed buns) and maybe a egg if I'm feeling ambitious that morning.By 7:15, I'm out the door and walking the 10 minutes to school. I live pretty close, but a lot of my classmates have to take buses or have their parents drive them. The streets are pretty crowded with students, parents, and vehicles all trying to get where they need to go. I always try to get to class a little early to review my homework one last time before the day starts. The morning class schedule is always the same: Chinese, math, and English. I'll admit, English is probably my weakest subject. All those grammar rules, vocabulary words, and readings can really fry my brain sometimes! My favorite is definitely math though - I love the logic and solving challenging word problems. Chinese is okay, but we have so much material to memorize for the exams. At 11:30, it's finally time for a break and lunch! Our school has a few cafeteria lines where we can buy meals for just a few kuai. My go-to is generally a bowl of re'gan mixian, those delicious hot dry noodles with a savory sesame sauce. We only get 40 minutes though, so I have to eat fast before heading out to the basketball courts to shoot some hoops with my friends. The afternoon classes after lunch are usually my favorite part of the day. We'll have classes like history, geography, biology, and physics. I really like learning about how the world works, especially in science. My physics teacher always has these crazy demonstrations with things like electric panels, laser pens and vacuum chambers. So cool! The afternoon also has time for extracurricular activities like sports teams, clubs, or music/art electives.By 5 pm, the school day is finally over and it's time to go home for dinner. My parents both work, so my grandmother usually has a home-cooked meal waiting for me. After eating, I'll take a little downtime to relax, watching some TV shows or chatting with my friends on DingTalk. But then it's back to hitting the books for at least 3 more hours of homework. Between all the worksheets, essays, and exam prep, there's always so much to do. I'll just keep grinding away until I'm cross-eyed around 10 pm. Right before bed, I'll spend a little time on my smartphone playing games or reading manga. Basically anything that lets my brain take a break! And then I re-set my alarm and do it all over again the next day. Six days a week, it's just a constant cycle of classes, homework, studying, and the occasional sleep. Definitely a lot of work, but I know it will all be worth it when I can test into a great high school next year.Well, that's pretty much a normal day for me! The schedule can seem overwhelming, but I just take it one assignment at a time. Having a good group of friends to suffer through it with also makes things a little easier. I try not to take everything too seriously and remember to enjoy the little things along the way. After all, these are supposed to be the best days of my life, right? Thanks for letting me share a slice of my world with you all!篇3A Day in the LifeHey there! My name is Emily and I'm a high school student here in Fujian Province. I've been asked to record a typical day for me to use as reading material for the English oral exams. So grab a snack and get comfortable as I take you through a day in my life! The shrill beeping of my alarm clock jolts me awake at6:30am. I hit snooze a couple times before finally forcing myself out of my warm cocoon of blankets. After a quick stretch, I shuffle to the bathroom and go through my morning routine - brushing my teeth, splashing some water on my face, and getting dressed for the day in my school uniform.By 7:15, I'm heading downstairs where the aroma of mom's cooking lures me into the kitchen. She's made some steaming hot soyamilk and fluffy dandan noodles - the perfectenergy-boosting breakfast! As I'm shoveling the last few bites into my mouth, dad comes down dressed for work at the factory."Morning princess, ready for another day?" he asks, ruffling my hair affectionately. I just roll my eyes and nod, my mouth too full to respond properly. I grab my backpack and we head out the door. The walk to school takes about 20 minutes. Dad and I don't live too far, just a few blocks from the main gates. We part ways at the intersection, him continuing on to the factory while I follow the stream of students in uniform towards the looming school buildings.I hurry through the gates and to my classroom, not wanting to be late. The hallways are chaos with students rushing every direction, chatting noisily with friends and comparing homework. Finally, I slide into my seat just as the bell rings for first period. Phew, made it!The morning lessons are always the toughest - English, math, chemistry. My brain struggled to full awake as I furiously take notes and try to absorb all the new information being thrown myway. By the time the lunch bell rings at 11:30, I'm mentally exhausted!I meet up with my best friends Lily and Jason in the cafeteria to decompress over a meal of rice, veggies, and chicken. We gossip about our crushes, complain about that brutal chemistry quiz, and discuss the latest drama from our favorite TV shows. Lunch period passes way too quickly.Soon I'm back in the classroom for afternoon sessions - history, geography, PE. The rest of the day is a blur of lectures, assignments, and physical activity. Finally, at 5pm, the ending bell rings and the halls fill with a thunderous roar as everyone rushes for the exits. Sweet freedom!Rather than going straight home, a group of us usually head to a nearby cafe to work on homework together. There's just something about getting out of the classroom and into a more relaxed environment that helps the information sink in better. We'll spend a couple hours going over assignments, quizzing each other, and decompressing. At 7:30, we call it a night and I start the journey home, my mind still buzzing from the full day. When I arrive, I'm greeted by the mouthwatering smells of mom's cooking again. We'll all sittogether as a family to enjoy a hearty homecooked meal, chatting about our days. After cleaning up the dishes, I'll retreat to my room to finish any lingering homework and try to get a head start on anything due the next day. I'll take a break around 9pm to indulge in an episode or two of my favorite drama before forcing myself to start winding down for bed around 10:30. Even then, I'm notorious for lying awake for awhile, my mind racing with thoughts about school, friends, the future. Finally, I'll drift off to sleep, mentally and physically drained yet satisfied with another full, productive day. Only to be jolted awake again at 6:30am the next morning to do it all again! Such is life as a high school student here in Fujian. It's a hectic schedule, but I wouldn't have it any other way. These are some of the best years of my life!。

朗读材料:1 A good wayMrs. Brown’s old grandfather lived with her and her husband. Every morning he went for a walk in the park and came home at half past twelve for his lunch. But one morning a police car stopped outside Mrs. Brown’ s house at twelve o’clock, and two policemen helped Mr. Brown to get out. One of them said to Mrs. Brown, “The poor old gentleman lost his way in the park and telephoned us for help, so we sent a car to bring him home.” Mrs. Brown was very surprised, but she thanked the policemen and they left.“But Grandfather,”she then said, “you have been to that near park every day for twenty years. How did you lose your way there?”The old man smiled, closed one eye and said, “ I didn’t quite lose my way. I just got tired and I didn’t want to walk home!”2 Mid-Autumn FestivalMid-Autumn Festival usually comes in September or October. On that day families get together to celebrate(庆祝)the full moon. They usually sit outside in the open air at the table. On the table there’re moon cakes, frui t, peanuts, water chestnuts(菱角)and so on. Adults tell the young people the story of Chang’e and that of the moon cake. In China there’re three main(主要的)traditional(传统的)festivals. Besides Mid-Autumn Festival, they are Dragon Boat Festival and Spring Festival. On every festival we have a big dinner. From January to December there’s almost(几乎)a festival or holiday in each month.3 When in Rome ,do as ROMANS doBefore you go to another country, it is a great help if you know the language and some of the customs of the country. When people meet each other for the first time in Britain, they say, “How do you do?” and shake hands. Usually they do not shake hands after they haven’t met for a long time or when they will be away from each other for a long time.Last year a group of German students went to England for a holiday. Their teacher told them that the English people hardly shake hands. So when they met their English friends at the station, they kept their hands behind their backs. The English students had learned the Germans shake hands as often as possible, so they put their hands in front and got ready to shake hands with them. It made both of them laugh.4 Such a judge!A judge was working in his room one day when a neighbour ran in and said ,“If one man's cow kills another's ,I s the owner of the first cow responsible?”“It depends”, answered the judge.“Well” ,said the man “your cow has killed mine”.“Oh” ,answered the judge .“Everyone knows that a cow cannot think like a man ,so a cow is not res ponsible ,and that means that its owner is not responsible either.”“I am sorry ,Judge” ,said the man .“I made a mistake .I meant that my cow killed yours.”The judge thought for a few seconds and then said , “When I think about it more carefully ,this ca se is not as easy as I thought at first.” And then he turned to his clerk and said , “Please bring me that big black book from the shelf behind you.”5 The SunThere is nothing more important in life than the sun. Without the sun all living things on Earth would die.The sun is a star. In the sky there are thousands of stars like the sun. They are as large as the sun and as hot as the sun. At night you can see many stars, but in day-time you can only see one star- the sun. The sun is much nearer to us than any other stars. That is why it looks like the biggest and brightest of all the stars. The distance of the sun from the Earth is as much as 150 million kilometers. Most of the stars are thousands of light years away from the Earth. Do you know what a light year is? Nothing in the world travels faster than light. It travels 300,000 kilometers a second. One light year is the distance that light travels in one year.6 PandasPandas are lovely animals. Most of them live in the deep forests of Sichuan Province in China. They have white fur, though their shoulders, legs, ears and eyes are black. Pandas are usually very heavy, some of them can be about 1.5 meters tall and weigh about100 kilograms. However, pandas are very agile, they can climb trees as easily as some other creatures(生物)do. Pandas have big, sharp teeth and live mainly on bamboo leaves. Every day each grown-up panda eats about 15-30 kilograms of bamboo leaves and they usually spend 10-12 hours eating. Pandas also have spare-time hobbies. Two of their hobbies are climbing trees and sleeping. Sadly, there are not many pandas left in theworld because some people keep cutting down trees, and bad hunters are trying to kill them for money. The Chinese government is doing its best to protect pandas from being harmed or killed.7 The Diet.Mrs. Tan is worried about her weight, so she goes to see a doctor. “Oh, I’m too fat, I need to lose a lot of weight.” “It isn’t difficult to lose weight,” the doctor says. “All you need to do is go on a diet. I’ll give you one.” The doctor takes out a piece of paper and writes “Eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Also, eat a lot of lean meat and grains.” The doctor hands the paper to Mrs. Tan. “Eat all those things and you’ll soon lose weight.”A few weeks later, Mrs. Ta n’s friend visits her. Her friend is surprised to see that Mrs. Tan is even fatter than before and she is eating a huge sandwich with chocolate and ice cream. “I thought you were on a diet,” her friend says. “Oh, I am.” Mrs. Tan answers. “I’ve already had all the food on my diet today. Now I’m having my dinner.”8 I’m not a poor old manIt was a beautiful spring morning. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and the sun was warm but not too hot, so Mr. Andrews was surprised when he saw an old gentleman at the bus-stop with a big, strong black umbrella in his hand.Mr. Andrews said to him, “Are we going to have rain today, do you think?”“ No,” said the gentleman,” I don’t think so.”“ Then are you carrying the umbrella to keep the sun off you ?”“No, the sun is not very hot in spring.”Mr. Andrews looked at the big umbrella again, and the gentleman said, “ I am an old man, and my legs are not very strong, so I really need a walking- stick. But when I carry a walking-stick, people say, “Look at that poor old man”, and I don’t like that. WhenI carry an umbrella in fine weather, people only say, “Look at that stupid man!”9 Seeing aliens 目击外星人A 13-year-old boy and his younger sister are playing on a farm.
