Warm Up

例如,综合英语第四册unit 4 A View of Mountains.

But don't worry, I'm going to explain everything step-by-step so you know just what to expect. Are you ready? Let's go!Signing UpThe first step is signing up to take the Big English Test. Your parents or teachers will help you with this part. They'll go to aspecial website and register you for the test. Make sure to mark that date on your calendar so you don't forget!Preparing for Test DayAfter you're registered, it's time to start getting ready for the big day. One of the best ways to prepare is by practicing your English skills as much as possible. Read lots of English books and stories. Watch movies or TV shows in English. Practice speaking, writing, and listening to English whenever you can.Your teachers will probably also give you some practice tests to work on. These will help you get familiar with the types of questions that will be on the real test. Don't worry if you find the practice tests challenging at first. Just keep practicing and you'll get better and better. It's also a good idea to start getting plenty of sleep in the weeks leading up to the test. Being well-rested will help keepyour brain sharp on test day. And don't forget to eat a healthy breakfast that morning to fuel your body and mind.Test DayWhen the big day finally arrives, you'll want to get to the test location a little bit early. That way you have plenty of time to check in and find your testing room without feeling rushed. Remember to bring a few sharpened pencils and an eraser. You may also want to pack a healthy snack, since the test will likely take a few hours to complete.Once you get to your room and get settled in, the test supervisors will go over all the rules and instructions. Be sure to listen very carefully so you understand exactly what you're supposed to do. If you have any questions, just raise your hand and ask.The Big English Test has four main parts:Listening - In this section, you'll hear recordings of people speaking English. As you listen, you'll have to answer questions about what was said.Reading - For the reading part, you'll read some English texts and passages, then answer comprehension questions about what you read.Writing - In the writing section, you'll have to write one or more passages in English about a given topic or prompt.Speaking - For this part, you'll have a conversation in English with one of the test administrators. They'll ask you some questions and you'll need to respond out loud.During the test, make sure you manage your time wisely and don't spend too long on any one question. If you get stuck, make your best guess and move on to the next question. After the TestPhew, you made it through the Big English Test! Good job! After the test is over, you'll get to go home and take a nice, well-deserved rest.It will probably take a few weeks for your test results to come back. When they do, your parents or teachers will go over your score report with you. The score report will show your overall score as well as your scores for each section of the test.If you did really well, that's fantastic! It means you have excellent English skills. If your scores could use a little improvement, no worries! You can take the test again later after doing some more practice.Well, that's pretty much everything you need to know about the Big English Test for college. I know it might seem a little intimidating now, but if you study hard and practice your English, you'll do great. Just take it one step at a time and remember - you've got this! Today I'm going to tell you all about this really cool English test platform that the big kids in college use. It's called the English Application Ability Test Platform for HigherEducation. That's a pretty long name, so let's just call it the Big Kid English Test for short, okay? The Big Kid English Test is kind of like the English tests you take in school, but it's just for the really big kids who go to college. It lets them show off how good they are at using English for all sorts of grown-up things like reading books, writing papers, listening to lectures, and talking to people. Pretty neat, right? So how does this Big Kid English Test work? Well, it's all on the computer! The big kids log into a special website using a username and password. Once they're logged in, they can see all the different parts of the test waiting for them. The first part is the reading test. In this one, the big kids have to read some pretty long passages about all kinds of topics, like science, history, or current events stuff. Then they have to answer questions about what they just read to show they understood it all. It's kind of like reading comprehension, but super duper hard!Next up is the writing test. For this one, the website gives the big kids an essay topic or question, and they have to write a whole essay answering it. They have to use really goodvocabulary, organize their ideas clearly, and make sure their grammar is perfect. Writing essays is no joke, even for big kids! After that is the listening test. This one is fun - they get to watch or listen to video clips of lectures, conversations, or other things in English. But the catch is they have to answer questions proving they were paying close attention to what was being said. No zoning out allowed! The last part is the speaking test, which is probably the toughest. The website will give the big kids a question, and they have to talk out loud and record their answer in English. They have to speak clearly, use good vocabulary and grammar, and make sure their answer makes sense. Public speaking is scary even for grownups, so this part takes some serious bravery!Between each of those four sections, there are breaks where the big kids can rest their brains for a bit before moving on to the next part. The whole thing can take a few hours, so having those little breaks is really important.Once they finally finish all four sections, the big kids submit their test and it gets graded by some super smart computer programs. A little while later, they get their score back to see how they did on each part of the test.Pretty wild, right? It's almost like a real-life video game, but for testing your English skills instead of slaying dragons or rescuing princesses!I know it all sounds really complicated and maybe even a little scary. But you know what? It's okay to feel that way - even big kids in college can get nervous about tests sometimes. The most important thing is to stay calm, follow the instructions carefully, and try your best. And who knows? In a few years when you're a big kid too, you might just find yourself logging into the Big Kid English Test platform and showing everyone how awesome your English skills are! The future is pretty exciting when you think about it that way, isn't it?Well, there you have it - everything you need to know about operating the super cool Big Kid English Test platform. I probably lost some of you bigger kids with all my little kid talk, but I hope it helped make this grown-up test sound a little less intimidating.Just keep practicing your English skills, and who knows? Maybe one day you'll be the one breezing through reading passages, crafting perfect essays, listening carefully to lectures, and speaking confidently in front of the mic. The English world will be your oyster!篇6The Super Awesome English Test Adventure!Hey there, kids! Are you ready for the most fun, exciting, and totally awesome English test ever? I know, I know, tests usually sound super boring. But trust me, this one is going to be a blast! It's like a video game, but instead of saving princesses or battling dragons, you get to show off your amazing English skills. How cool is that? Before we dive into the adventure, let me give you a heads up on what you'll need. First, you'll want to have a computer or tablet handy. This test is all online, so no pencils or papers required. Isn't technology the best? Next, you'll need your login information. Your teacher will give you a special username and password that will let you into the test. Make sure to keep it safe and sound, just like a secret treasure map!Okay, now that you're all set, it's time to begin the quest! When you log in, you'll see a bunch of different sections, kind of like levels in a video game. Don't worry; you don't have to do them all at once. Take your time and conquer each one step by step. The first level is usually something like "Listening." In this part, you'll get to hear all sorts of cool English conversations, stories, and even songs! Your job is to listen carefully and answer some questions about what you heard. It's like being a super spy trying to decode a secret message. How exciting!Next up, you might have a "Reading" level. This is where you get to flex your reading muscles and show off how well you can understand English texts. You'll read things like stories, articles, and even comics. Then, you'll have to answer questions about what you read. It's like being a detective, searching for clues and solving mysteries! If you're feeling extra adventurous, you might also encounter levels like "Speaking" and "Writing." In the "Speaking" level, you'll get to record yourself talking in English. Don't be shy; pretend you're a famous actor or singer performing for a huge audience! And in the "Writing" level, you'll get to unleash your creativity and write your own stories or essays. It's like being an author or a poet, crafting amazing tales and sharing your thoughts with the world.Throughout the test, you'll earn points for every correct answer, just like scoring points in a video game. The more points you get, the higher your score will be. And who knows, youmight even unlock some special bonuses or achievements along the way! Now, I know what you might be thinking: "But what if I get stuck or have trouble with a question?" No worries, my friend! Just like in any good adventure game, you'll have some awesome power-ups at your disposal. You can take breaks whenever you need to, and you can even go back and review previous questions if you're feeling unsure. And if you ever feel like you're in over your head, don't hesitate to ask your teacher for help. They're like your trusty guide, ready to lend a hand and point you in the right direction. So, there you have it, kids! The English test adventure is all set and ready for you to embark on. All this makes it difficult to decide exactly how much the tax is.There was a certain artist who was always very careful to pay the proper amount. One year, after posting his check as usual, he began to wonder if he had paid enough, and after a lot of work, with a pencil and paper, decided that he had not. Opening it, the artist was surprised to find inside it a check for five pounds from the tax-collector. The official explained that too much had been paid, and that therefore the difference was now returned to the taxpayer.41.
