如何上高中英语Reading部分

如何上高中英语Reading部分

如何上高中英语Reading部分高中英语Reading部分既体现阅读技巧又体现本单元的主要语言点,既可作快速阅读理解训练又可作精读讲解,以何种形式上好Reading部分正是每位高中英语教师要去反复研究、不断创新的课题。

高中英语的课本结构分为Warming-up(热身)、Listening(听力)、Speaking(说)、Reading(阅读)、Word study(单词学习)、Grammar(语法)、Integrating Skill(综合技巧)和Writing(写作)。

This is a western table. What can you see on the table? Can you put the things on the right place? What are the differences between a western table and a Chinese table?…… 导入后通过限时阅读,学生回答手头上参考资料上的阅读问题(如《英语周报》、《红色经典》、《优化设计》、《绿色通道》等)。

Reading英语作文〔精选10篇〕Reading英语作文篇1My favorite books are Readers and VOA. Readers cover the knowledge of culture, literature, and history, so I can benefit a lot by reading it. VOA can let me know the foreign countries better. Thanks to VOA, my oral English is improving day by day. This is my good habit that I will keep it forever.Reading英语作文篇2Do you enjoy reading books online?Which way will you most likely choose while reading? I suppose most of you may select to read online. Owing to the information explosion in the 21st century, we are all expected to keep up with time. To a certain extent, we have no time to read calmly. Our brains are like a data bank that absorb and abandon news at the same time.Reading itself is beneficial to us, so just choose any possible way to read. In my eyes, the more natural, the better. Why don't we use the simplest way reading books rather than reading online? Though I admit that reading online is more attractive, it can't replace paper reading. How to get ready for online learningNowadays, inter is moderner and moderner! So, learning is not noly in school, it is also on line! It called “online learning”!Before do everything, we must get ready for it, and “online learning” also need many preparation. Now, let's dicuss ho w to get ready for “online learning”! First we must have a puter, and it can also connect to the inter. Secondly, we must have a teacher. Thirdly, we also need a small camera and an earphone with a microphone, so that the teacher can supervise us expediently! That's all! I hope, we'll learn on line in the future!Reading英语作文篇3The book, with me through the twelve seasons, growth years always filled with books fragrance. At thistimeat the chair I, like a living sculpture. Read my sad tears of joy will splash;read, I will can't helpto laugh, feel like a happy bird; read the brilliantis can not let go, will simply call up, repeatedly applauded. From my first contact with the book, I had the indissoluble bound with thebook. Types of books I read so much, top know astronomy, knowledge of geography,as long as it is good, it look. Because of my small room is full of books, every time I walk into a room,I feel like being in a sea of books. Iespecially love to read a book for a while, often do homework, handson more than a book, eat with appetite to “bite”,homework is to forget.Whenever I tread air, mom has “ghost” like standing behind me, “mine” type of voice I fried up, then take my book. But, don't worry, my book is much! This is not the “ghost” just left, I went to “chew” another book. Because I usually a “bite” is more than an hour, did not feel tired, so always have not enough time to do homework. For this mother not to criticize me many times. But even so, my passion for books is still not reduced, instead of the book iseven more obsessed with.As Golgi said: “the book is the ladder of human progress.” Reading their own joy of reading!Reading英语作文篇4The “Nationwide Reading”has been put in the gover____ent work report in order to encourage a love of reading in all Chinese people. But there are a large number of peopel have different reasons for they don't read. Some peopeldon't read enough in their spare time.Maybe reading is not the first chioce for them. And Some people are sobusy that they don't have enough time to read, while others think that reading is useless. As far as I am concerned, I don't agree with them.Firstly, reading not olny helps us learn more about knowledge but also opens up a whole new world which we never know to us.Secondly, it could help us to think better and improve our skills, such as writing, talking and even survival skills. The third reason is, reading could bring many benfits to us such as wisdom and different perspectives in the same thing. All in all, we could find lots of advantages through reading.Reading英语作文篇5At present only a few students do some reading after class. Here are several reasons.I hope school hold a reading activity once a week, so that students can have enough time to read. I suggest students reading before going to bed. it helps us sleep better.Reading英语作文篇6Reading is playing an important part in my dailying can make us enjoy our ing has numerous ing helpsus to work engeretically.Reading英语作文篇7Hello, everybody! I love English much more than before!I'm a reading fan! And I'm a special girl!Reading英语作文篇8he first thing I want to insist on is that reading should be enjoyable. Of course, there are many books that we all have to road, either to pass examinations or to acquire information, from which it is impossible to extract enjoyment. We aro reading them for instruction, and the best we can hope is that our need for it will enable us to get through them without todium. Such books wo read with resignation rather than with alacrity. But that is not the sort of roading I have in mind. The books I shall mention in due course will help you neither to get a degree nor to earn your living, they will not teach you to sail a boat or get a stalled motor to run, but they will help you to live more fully. That, however, they cannot do unless you enjoy reading them.Every man is his own best critic. Whatever the learned say about a book, however unanimous they are in their praise of it, unless it interests you, it is no business of yours. And you who read are the final judge of the value to you of the book you are reading. We are none of us exactly like everyone else, only rather like, and it would be unreasonable to suppose that the books that have meant a great deal to me should be precisely those that will mean a great deal to you. But they are books that I feel the richer for having read, and I think I should not be quite the man I am if I had not read them. No one is under an obligation to read poetry or fiction or the miscellaneous literature which is classed as belleslettres. He must read them for pleasure, and who can claim that what pleases one man must necessarily please another?Reading英语作文篇9Goethe once said, “One book, one world.” Sit quietly in the book house, hold a book, hold a cup oftea, listen to the ear rustle turn the book sound, smell the light book, wandering in the world of books, fortable and fortable. I bought a thick copy from the bookstore and stayed in my room for a month with the help of “sogou” and “ancient C hinese dictionary”. The text overflows with annotations. After hard reading, I always feel that it is much more wonderful than the TV series, but also from time to time appeared many pictures, only the Monkey King three dozen white bone essence chapter, I fantasized dozens of times.Books are the evergreen trees in people's lives. Reading keeps my mind fresh. In the face of those great literary works, poems and poems, I gently open the pages as if I had entered a vast, wonderful and extraordinary world. “One book one world”, intoxicated in the book world, like riding on a horse in the wilderness, such as rafting between the West Lake, as happy in the game, infinite happiness!Reading英语作文篇10It's no doubt that reading can enrich our knowledge. We can't speak without reading, we can't write without reading. I can't imagine how life will be if we have no books to read.If I don't read books, I won't know there are other countries besides China. If I don't read books, I won't understand the earth is around. If I don't read books, I won't see life is colourful.I'm so lucky, because I'm living happily and peacefully. Today, I can read when I'm dull. I also can read whenever I'm happy or sad. I'm very grateful we have books. And I'm excited the Reading Festival is hold in our school. What I want to say is reading is as important as breathing. Frankly speaking, theunfair is full of our life, but reading is fair to everybody. How much you read, how much you will get. Many years ago, before cable television, videos, video games, and the inter appear- reading was main way for us to learn. The students always spent hours reading books, imaging and learning. Now unfortunately we have lost the skills to read and the passion toread. My fellow students, reading is our most important task now, we can't give up reading. Let's help each other to learn how to read, let's read together. e on!。

According to th e survey, the most popular choice of job is computer programming. What are the dreams of teenagers?Teenagers have all kinds of dreams. Some are 11 (realistic) than others. For example, many students said they would like to be volunteers at the 2008 olympics, maybe 12 (work) as translators to t our guides. It is veryimportant to dream, so hold on to your dreams; one day they may just come true.Unit 8I’ll send you a photo of Lucky.Dear Miss Li,I’d like to thank you for 1 (send) money to “ Animal Helpers”, an organization 2 (set )up to help disabled people. You see, you 3 (help)make it posiible for me to have “Lucky”, who 4 (fill)my life with pleasure. Let me 5 (tell) you my story.6 (be)blind, deaf, unable7 (walk) or use your hands easily is something that most people cannot imagine. But there are many people who8 (face) these challenges, and I am one of them. Because I can’t9 (use) my arms or legs well, normal things like 10 (answer)the telephone, opening and shutting doors or carrying things have always been difficult for me. Then one day last year, a friend of mine said that she would like to help me out. She said she would 11 (talk) to “Animal Helpers” to see if it would be possible for me 12 (get) a specially trained dog. She also 13 (think)a dog might 14 (cheer) me up. I told her that I love animals and that I’d love to have a dog. After six months of 15 (train) with a dog at “Animal Helpers”, I 1 6 (be)able to bring him home. My dog’s name is “Lucky”---a good name for him because I feel very lucky 17 (have) him. You see, I’m only able to have a “dog—helper” because of your kind donation! How 18 Lucky 18 (help) me you might ask? Well,he ______19___(train)to understand different instructions. For example, I say, “Lucky! Fetch my book,” and he does it at once. He is very clever and understands many English words, even some difficult ones like “upstairs”. Lucky is an amazing dog. I 20 (send) you a photo of him if you like, and I could show you how he 21 (help) me too one day. And so I thank you again for 22__ (support) “Animal Helpers”.It is very important that this organization 23 (not run) out of money. Your donationis greatly appreciated and the money is well 24 (use) to help disabled people like meUnit9If you travel around China you 1 (notice) a very popular activity everywhere you go--basketball. This much-loved and active sport 2(enjoy) by many, for fun and exercise. The sport of basketball is a little over a hundred years old. It is played by more than 100 million people in over 200 countries 3 (include) China ,where basketball has been play in parks, schools, and even in factories.Basketball 4 (invent) by a Canadian doctor 5 (name) James Naismith, who was born in 1861. When he was at college, his class 6 once 6 (ask)to invent a new game that could be played indoors during the long winters. Dr Naismith created a game to 7 (play) on a hard wooden floor, so the safety of the players was important. 8 (Knock) into players and falling down would be dangerous. Dr Naismith divided the men in his class into two teams and taught them how 9 (play) his new game. The aim of basketball is for players to get a ball into the "basket";a new hanging from a metal hoop. Plays shoot from below the basket and may use the "backboard" for 10 (guide) the ball into the basket. Players move towards one end of the court while throwing the ball to each other. It 11 (believe) that on December 21st, 1891, the first basketball game in history was played. Then in 1936 in Berlin, it became an Olympic event. A team from China took part, and although they 12 (win) they used the experience to help develop the game at home. Since then, the popularity of basketball 13 (rise) worldwide, and the number of foreign players in America's NBA (National Basketball Association) 14 (increase). Basketball has also become a more popular sport for people to watch, and many young people dream of 15 (become) famous basketball players.Unit 11Asking for information or help 1 (be) a very common and necessary activity, especially when we visit a foreigncountry. So 2 (know)how to ask for information politely is important. In English ,where are the restrooms? and Could you please tell me where the restrooms are? Are similar requests- both 3 (be)correct English, but the first could sound rude. It’s important 4 (use) correct language, but sometime this alone is not enough-we need 5(lean) how to be polite when we make requests . In English, just like in Chinese , we change the way we speak when talking with different people. The expressions you use 6 (depend )on whom you are speaking to or how well you know them. If you say to your teacher ,Where is my book? Your question will sound much more polite. On the other hand, it might be alright to to say Where is my book? In some situations, perhaps with people you know well. And you would not usually say, Peter ,lend me your pen.A very direct order like this 7 (sound) rude in English. Usually in English polite questions are longer and include extra language such as Could you pleas….?or Can I ask```? It sounds more polite to say, Peter, Could you please lend me your pen? Sometimes we might even need to spend some time 8 (lead) in to a question or request, for example, if you stop a stranger in the street, we might first say, Excuse me, I wonder if you can help me or I’m sorry 9 (trouble) you but, before 10 (ask) them for help.It might seem that 11(speak) politely is more difficult than 12 (be) direct, and in a way this may be true. However, in order 13 (not offend) people, 14 (learn)about language etiquette is just as better at English, or any other language you wish to speak.Unit 12You’re supposed to write quickly! Can you write in English? And can you also write e-mail English? Maybe not. E-mail English is a new kind of 1 (write) English that is being used to save time.A lot of e-mail English words 2 ( look) unfamiliar to us- many look like rubbish! This is because they come from a computer program 3 (call) ICQ, which means I seek you. ICQ is an e-mail “ chatline ” that people use to have online conversations with friends. One Canadian teachersays, “ People can use their computers 4 ( talk) to each other. But you are supposed to type quickly so the other person 5 (not get) bored, so using e-mail English 6 (help) you write quickly.”E-mail English mostly uses two types of words. The first is “ abbreviation”. This 7 (form) by using the first letter of each word in the phrase. For example, BTW means “ by the way”, and CSL means “ can’t stop 8 (laugh)”. The second kind of word is a “ homophone”- it’s created by 9 (combine) letters and symbols, or numbers, to sound like other words. An example of this 10 (be) to write “ great” as “ gr8”, or to write” see you later” as “CUI8r”.When you write e-mail English you 11 ( not need) to use punctuation marks only in the traditional way. You are also supposed to use them to show the emotion you 12 ( feel). These are called “ emoticons”. The advantage of 13 (use) punctuation marks is that you can make faces with them. The most common one is the happy face- it 14 (look) like this :) and it 15 (make) with a colon and a right bracket beside it.E-mail English is fun—it’s almost like writing riddles. You 16 (learn) it easily by yourselves, and experiment with your own ideas. It is not rude 17 ( write) e-mail English, but it is important to use it only at the proper time—when you 18 ( e-mail) a friend, or sending a message to a friend on a mobile phone. But you 19 (not use) it in class, and remember your teachers 20 (not be) pleased if you write e-mail English in a test!Unit 13Many books have been written about “the art of giving”. But what about the art of receiving? Sometimes, 1 (receive) a gift can be difficult, especially when someone buys you a gift you 2 (not want)!“I remember when I was about twelve years old, my parents bought me a purple purse,” laughs Guo Xiaojing. “It really made me 3 (feel) embarrassed, because to be honest, I thought the purse was really ugly!Still, I pretended thatI liked it because I knew it 4 ( make )my parents happy!”Han Ling agrees. “That sounds like my grandparents!A few years ago, my grandparents gave me an orange sweater for my birthday. I used 5 (wear) it every time I visited them, but when I left their house, I took it off!Of course, this made me feel guilty. It was a very nice thought, but my grandparents have different taste from me!I think it’s hard 6 (buy) clothes or other personal things for people.”7 (make) things easier, some people would rather just give money. In some cultures, however, receiving money can make people uncomfortable. “When someone 8 (give) me money, it just makes me think they’re being lazy,” says John Wilson. “In England, we have a saying: It’s the thought that 9 (count). When someone gives me money, I feel they don’t think at all. I prefer 10 (receive )a gift that 11 (have) some thought behind it. I don’t mind if it’s something I don’t need. If someone 12 (think) about a gift for me, it always makes me happy.”Different people have very different thoughts on this subject! So maybe the art of receiving is even more difficult than the art of giving! What do you think?Unit 141 you 1 (be)back to the place where your ancestors lived, worked, studied and played? Robert Qian, a Ch inese Canadian, already 2 (have). Now in China, he has found that his family is like a tall tree with long roots.Robert is just one young overseas Chinese who has come to visit his ancestors' homeland, as part of the In Search of Roots summer camp program. The program 3 (organize) by the local government of Guangdong Pro vince. This program 4 (start) in 1980, and so far 5 ( bring) thousands of overseas Chinese students to Ch ina to look for their families' roots. The young people are usually between 16 and 25 years old. Most, like Robert, 6 hardly 6 (speak) any Chinese, and have n ever been to China before. The students mainly visit parts of Guangdong Provincein southern China. During the two-week camp, they 7(study) Chinese culture, see changes that have happene d in that area, and visit interesting sights. 8 (go) to their ancestors' village is often the most exciting part of the trip. The students feel that they are par t of the village, and 9 (experience)village life. They drink from the village well, go for walks through the countryside, and watch the villagers 10(do) their daily activities.Cathy Qin, a young American student, had this to say, "Thanks to In Search of Roots, I 11 (begin)to unders tand my Chinese roots, and who I am. It has been a g reat trip, and I have so many memories of China 12 ( take )with me"The program leaders believe strongly in the program, a nd say that the purpose of it is 13 (give )young overseas Chinese the chance to learn more about themse lves. "I 14 really 14 (enjoy) the trip so far," say s Robert. "This has been a big step for me, and I'm looking forward to 15(find) out more about my roots during my time here.。

With the help of the net, we can do shopping even without leaving our homes. The Internet is playing a more and more important part in our daily life. 1. What’s the main idea of the passage? A. Keep away from the Internet. B. Surf the net. C. The Internet is playing an important part in our daily life. D. We can entertain ourselves on the Internet.
There is no convincing evidence that social conditioning, the fact that girls' mothers talked them more, is the reason why girls talk more than boys.

1Reading is the Best!I love to read! Reading is my absolute favorite thing to do. I could read all day long if my parents would let me. Books are like magic portals that can transport you to amazing worlds and incredible adventures. My love of reading started when I was just a little kid. My mom and dad would read me bedtime stories every single night before I went to sleep. We would snuggle up together and they would read in funny voices to bring all the characters to life. Some of my earliest memories are listening to the tales of curious monkeys, hungry caterpillars, and whimsical magical lands. I couldn't get enough! As soon as I learned how to read myself, I was off to the races. I would beg my parents to take me to the library every weekend so I could check out big stacks of books. I'd devour story after story, getting lost in the pages for hours. My favorites were books about dragons, knights, princesses, and magic. Iloved reading about brave heroes going on epic quests and using their wits to outsmart evil sorcerers and ferocious beasts.I remember this one time, I was so engrossed in reading a book about a boy wizard that I missed my school bus! I was just sitting on the front porch, completely oblivious to the time as I turned page after page. My mom had to rush me to school after the bus left because I simply couldn't put the book down. She was amused but also proud that I loved reading so much. That's the thing about books - when you find a really good one, you don't want it to end. The characters start to feel like friends, and you become invested in their stories and lives. You cheer them on through their struggles and triumphs. And when you finally read the last page, there's always a little pang of sadness that the journey is over. But that's the beauty of books too - there's always a brand new adventure waiting as soon as you're ready. All you have to do is pick up another book and let it sweep you away again. Maybe this time it will be a mystery that keeps you guessing until the final reveal. Or perhaps a hilarious novel about a silly family that will have you laughing out loud. Or even a fascinatingnon-fiction book that teaches you all about dinosaurs, space, or another fascinating topic. No matter what kind of book it is, reading allows you to go on wonderful journeys and learn about amazing worlds, all without leaving your cozy reading nook. You can travel across deserts, explore haunted castles, hang out with talking animals, or blast off into outer space, all by turning the pages of a book.Reading also helps stretch your mind and imagination. The more you read, the more creative ideas you'll get. And getting lost in books is great practice for developing strong reading skills that will help you in all your other school subjects. These days, I read as much as I possibly can. I always have at least one book going, whether it's an engrossing fantasy novel, a hilarious book of poems, or an informative guide about my latest interest. I'll read before bed, during my snack time, on car rides - whenever I can sneak a few spare moments. My friends all know what a book lover I am too. Instead of trading video games or toys, we'll pass around books we've enjoyed and make recommendations to each other. Once I've discovered an author I love, I have to read every single book they've written!Reading opens up whole new worlds waiting to be explored. All you need is a good book, a cozy spot, and you're ready foradventure. To me, reading is magical, inspiring, and so much fun. That's why I always tell everyone - reading is the best!篇2Reading is the Best!Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm 8 years old. I absolutely LOVE reading! Reading is my favorite thing to do in the whole wide world. I could read all day long if my mom would let me.Reading is so much fun because you get to go on amazing adventures and visit far away places without even leaving your house. When I read, it's like the pictures and words come alive in my mind. I can see the characters and imagine exactly what they look like and where they are. It's like watching a movie, but even better because I get to make up all the details myself! My favorite books are the ones with brave heroes or heroines who go on epic quests to defeat evil villains or mythical monsters. I love getting caught up in the suspense and action as the hero battles their way through obstacles and close calls. Will they make it out alive? Will they save the kingdom? I'm always on the edge of my seat (well, maybe the couch) flipping pages quickly to find out what happens next!Fantasy stories with magic, dragons, talking animals and other magical creatures are the BEST. I wish I could fly on a dragon's back or talk to unicorns. Maybe I'd even meet a mermaid! Reading lets me travel to those magical realms and let my imagination run totally wild. But I also really enjoy reading books that could be about real kids just like me. Books where the characters are dealing with common issues kids face like making new friends, getting along with siblings, or starting at a new school. It's fun putting myself in their shoes and thinking about how I would handle those situations. Sometimes the characters do things I wouldn't do, which makes me think. Other times, they react just how I would and it's like the book really understands me!Reading is also awesome because I'm constantly learning new words and facts about all sorts of topics. Any time I come across a word I don't know, I ask my parents what it means or look it up in the dictionary. Then the next time I see that word, I remember the meaning. My vocabulary is growing every day thanks to reading!Reading books about different places around the world, different time periods in history, or kids growing up in different cultures than me teaches me so much. It opens my eyes to howbig and diverse our world is. Reading shows me how people can have very different lifestyles, traditions and beliefs, but deep down we're all human beings who want a lot of the same basic things like happiness, love and acceptance. My teachers always say that being a strong reader will help me a ton as I get older. They say kids who read a lot get better at comprehending, analyzing things in-depth, and improving their writing skills. I'm working really hard on all those things by reading as much as I can! I figure the more I read now, the easier many subjects will be for me once I get to harder classes down the road.I have a pretty big bookshelf stuffed full of books in my room and I'm always bugging my parents to take me to the library or bookstore to get even more. I try to read a little bit every single day, but my favorite is cuddling up with a good book on a rainy weekend and reading for hours on end. My parents have to remind me to take breaks, get up and move around! They think I'm a bit of a book篇3Reading is the Best!Reading is my absolute favorite thing to do! I love books so much. There are so many cool stories and I can learn all about different worlds and different people's lives. I'm only 8 years old but I've already read like a billion books. Well, maybe not a billion, but definitely a whole lot!My mom started reading to me when I was just a tiny baby. At first the books were just simple ones with pictures of animals or objects. But as I got older, the stories got longer and more exciting. My favorite books when I was little were the Llama Llama stories by Anna Dewdney. That little llama got into so many funny situations!Once I learned how to read on my own, a whole new world opened up for me. I can still remember the first book I read all by myself - "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss. It was so cool being able to sound out the words instead of having them read to me. My parents were so proud! From there, I just couldn't get enough of reading. My mom would take me to the library every week to get a new stack of books. I'd plow through them in just a few days and then beg her to take me back for more! My parents had to start rationing how many books I could check out at a time so they'd last longer. Now that I'm a bit older, my reading tastes have changed a little. I'm really into fantasy books like "Harry Potter" and "Percy Jackson." I love those books because they take me away to magical worlds unlike anything in real life. But I also love reading books that teach me about real people and places, like the "Who Was?" biography series or the "You Wouldn't Want To..." history books. My favorite of those is "You Wouldn't Want to Be a Sumerian Slave!" It's crazy to think about how tough life used to be back then.My teacher read us the first few chapters of "Holes" by Louis Sachar this year and I got completely hooked. I raced through the rest of the book at home to find out what happened to Stanley and his friends at Camp Green Lake. That's one of the coolest books I've ever read - I loved the mystery and all the interconnected stories about the past and present.I guess you could say I'm kind of a book nerd. My room is overflowing with books stacked on every surface. Whenever I go somewhere boring like the doctor's office, you can bet I've got a book stuffed in my backpack to keep me entertained. And if my parents need a few minutes of peace and quiet, they just hand me a book and I'm totally content.Reading is so awesome because there are endless stories and information in books just waiting to be discovered. Whether it's an encyclopedia teaching me facts about animals, or a graphic novel bringing superheroes to life, or a chapter book sweeping me away on an epic adventure, I'm always excited to crack open a new book.My friends think I'm kind of weird for loving reading so much. But that's ok with me! I just feel bad for them that they're missing out on all the amazing book journeys I get to experience. Like that time I read about this crazy chocolate factory run by a wacky guy named Willy Wonka...now that was an unforgettable story!I hope I always love reading as much as I do now. Maybe I'll even become an author myself someday and get to create new worlds and characters for other kids to discover! How cool would that be? For now though, I've got a big stack of books on my nightstand that I can't wait to devour. Sorry video games, I'll be too busy reading to play you!篇4Reading: The Greatest AdventureHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about my favorite thing in the whole wide world: reading! To me, reading is the most amazing, magical, and exciting adventure that anyone could ever go on. Let me explain why I feel this way.Whenever I open up a book, it's like stepping through a magical doorway into another world. One minute I'm sitting on my bed or the couch at home, and the next minute, I'm transported to anywhere my imagination can take me. With reading, I've been a brave knight fighting dragons, a wise wizard casting spells, a fearless explorer discovering new lands, and so much more! No matter where the story is set, I get to see everything unfold right before my very eyes.Books allow me to travel through time too. I've gone all the way back to ancient civilizations like ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. I've experienced life in medieval times with kings, queens, and castles. I've even journeyed into the future to see what the world might be like years from now! Exploring different time periods is super fascinating. My favorite kinds of books are fantasies and adventures because they are filled with magic, mythical creatures, epic quests, and daring heroes and heroines. Recently, I read thisbook series about a young wizard who has to go to a special magic school for witches and wizards. He and his friends went on the coolest adventures, using their magic wands to battle powerful dark forces. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, desperately wanting the good guys to win!Reading isn't just fun and entertaining though. Through books, I've learned about so many different people, cultures, places, and life experiences that are totally different from my own. It really opens your eyes to how big and diverse the world is.I feel like my mind has expanded in a million different ways from all the amazing stories I've read.I've also become a better student because of my love for reading. All the reading practice has really boosted my vocabulary, comprehension abilities, imagination, and writing skills. My teachers are always complimenting me on how well I express myself. I owe it all to reading!Another thing I love about books is that you can always find new ones to explore. The possibilities are endless! My room is overflowing with books because I can never get enough. Whenever I finish one book, I can't wait to start the next one and see where my imagination takes me.Sometimes though, it can be hard for me to find someone who shares my passion for reading as much as I do. A lot of my friends would rather watch TV or play video games instead of reading for fun. That's okay though because in books, I've made plenty of incredible imaginary friends to keep me company on all my adventures!Maybe you're someone who hasn't yet discovered the joy and excitement of being a reader. If so, I really want to encourage you to pick up a book and give it a try! Reading is a skill that will help you in every area of your life. Plus, it's just so much fun getting whisked away to amazing make-believe worlds whenever you want. Trust me, reading is the greatest adventure there is!Well, I could ramble on all day about how much I adore reading, but I should probably wrap this up. Just remember, books have the power to take you anywhere your heart desires. Where will your next reading adventure lead? The only way to find out is to open that book and let the journey begin!篇5Reading - My Favorite Thing in the Whole Wide World!Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 8 years old. Today I want to tell you all about why reading is the bestest, most awesomest thing ever in the entire universe!I just love, love, LOVE to read! Reading is my very favorite activity. It's even better than playing video games or watching cartoons on TV. I know that might sound crazy to some kids, but it's totally true! There are so many cool things about reading that I hardly know where to start. First off, books let you go on amazing adventures without even leaving your house! One minute you can be reading about a brave knight fighting a fearsome dragon. Then you turn the page and BOOM - you're suddenly a space explorer blasting off in a rocket ship headed for Mars! How awesome is that? With books, you can be anybody you want to be and go anywhere your imagination desires. That castle over there? You can explore every nook and cranny. That thick, spooky forest filled with twisted trees and strange noises? No problem, you can lead the way! Books make you the boss of your own fun.Another thing I love about reading is that books teach you stuff in such an exciting, entertaining way. Like, you might read a book about the rainforest that has you feeling like you're reallythere - seeing all the colorful birds and sticky huge leaves and hearing the crazy sounds of the animals. But then, almost without realizing it, you've learned a ton of facts about the rainforest too! Pretty neat, huh?Or you might read one of those Magic Tree House books and go on a time travel adventure to Ancient Greece or medieval England. While you're having a blast following the story, you pick up all kinds of interesting history facts along the way. It's like eating vegetables covered in yummy cheese sauce - you don't even taste the veggies but you're still getting all that good stuff! My favorite books to read are probably fantasy stories with magic, mythical creatures, and lots of imagination. I love seeing what crazy, quirky creatures the authors can dream up. Like this one book had these things called "snozzlers" that were basically big furry bees that shot honey from their tails! How bizarre is that? But that's what makes fantasy so much fun - anything is possible.I also really enjoy reading books that have cool, brave kids as the main characters. It's awesome to read about a regular child like me who ends up going on an epic quest or having to use their brain and courage to save the day. It makes me think, "Hey, maybe I could be a hero too if I had to!"One of the most exciting parts of reading is getting to the climax or most intense, edge-of-your-seat moment of the story. Like when Harry Potter is battling Voldemort and you have NO idea how it's going to end up. Or when the Boxcar Children are hiding out in that old abandoned boxcar from the mean ol' biker dude who's chasing them. I'll read those thrilling scenes over and over, my heart pounding with suspense!I have to admit, even though I love reading more than anything, some of those longer words can be a bit of a challenge. But I've got a few tricks to help me out. First, I try to sound out the word by breaking it into smaller parts I recognize. Or sometimes I just skip over the hard word and keep reading, using the other words around it to try and figure out the meaning. My parents are usually willing to help me too if I get really stuck. But you know what? Even if I stumble over a few big vocabulary words here and there, it's no big deal. I'd way rather be reading than sitting around being bored! As long as I'm understanding most of the story, a few hard words aren't going to stop me.That reminds me, I should probably mention that not every single book is a thrill ride from start to finish. Some of them (like the classics my teacher makes us read) can be a bit slow or dry atparts. But you just have to push through those duller sections to get to the good stuff. It's like the broccoli on your plate you have to choke down before you can have dessert - worth it in the end!Speaking of dessert, reading IS pretty much a treat or dessert for your mind! It's yummy brain food that tastes delicious and is totally good for you at the same time. You get cooler, smarter, and better at reading the more you do it. Awesome sauce!Okay, I could honestly ramble on and on forever about how great reading is. But I'd better wrap this up so I can, you know, actually go read! Maybe you're already a reading superstar like me. Or maybe after hearing how insanely fun it is, you'll want to give it a try if you haven't already. Either way, reading rocks! The end! Thanks for letting me share my thoughts and rave about why reading is the best. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a date with my favorite reading nook, a big squashy beanbag, some snacks, and an exciting new book I've been dying to crack open. Reading forever, Timmy out!篇6Reading is So Much Fun!I just love reading! Reading is one of my very favorite things to do. There are so many amazing books out there, filled with exciting stories and fascinating facts. Reading takes me on wonderful adventures to magical lands and lets me learn all about the real world too. When I read a great book, I get completely lost in the story. The words paint brilliant pictures in my mind of the characters, settings, and all the action happening. I can vividly imagine the brave knight slaying the fearsome dragon or the mischievous kids getting into hijinks at their school. My heart races with excitement during the climax and I'm always a little sad when the book comes to an end because I have to leave that world behind. But that just means it's time to dive into a brand new book and explore a whole new world! There are still so many stories I haven't read yet, waiting for me to discover them. Will the next book transport me to a distant galaxy amid alien civilizations? Or will I read about a regular kid just like me, but living in another era like ancient Egypt or the Old West? Or maybe this time it will be an encyclopedia filled with mind-blowing facts about our amazing planet Earth. There's no way to know until I crack open the cover!Reading also helps me learn and understand so much about how the world works. I've read books explaining how galaxies, stars, and planets form and orbit. I've learned about the incredible diversity of life by reading books on animals, plants, and ecosystems. Books teach me about historical figures and events from the past. And from reading fiction, I gain insights into how people think and feel in different situations. Every single book, whether a novel or a textbook, expands my knowledge and imagination in fascinating ways.My favorite places to read are the cozy window nook in our living room or tucked under the oak tree in our backyard. I'll grab a comfy pillow, a yummy snack, and a stack of great books, and then I'm set for hours of reading bliss. Sometimes I read out loud, using different voices for each character to make it more fun and realistic. Other times I read silently, losing myself in the story and characters' lives.I especially love when my parents or teachers read aloud to me and my classmates. I'm always amazed at how the best readers use different voices, dramatic pauses, and emphatic tones to bring the tales alive in a way that feels like a movie is unfolding in my mind. Their performances inspire me to read out loud with more enthusiasm and expression too.Reading isn't just amazing by itself though - it's also magical because it improves my skills in so many subjects. The more I read, the better I get at reading itself. My comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, and fluency keep leveling up with each book I conquer. And because I learn facts about science, history, writing, and more through my reading, my knowledge in every area expands with every passing chapter。
