全国中学生英语能力竞赛
全国中学生英语能力竞赛（National English Competition for Middle School Students, 简称NECMS）是
一项为提高中学生英语能力而设立的全国性比赛。
该比赛由国家教育部主办，为期一年。
该比赛每年举办一次，分为初赛、复赛和决赛三个阶段。
初赛是全国范围内进行的，采用线上测试，考察中学生
的语法、听力、口语、阅读和写作能力；复赛则在省级进行，采用线下测试，也是基于语法、听力、口语、阅读和写作五项能力而划分的；而决赛则在全国范围内进行，选手将进行口语演讲和写作，以此来展示他们的英语能力。
NECMS 在中国教育体制改革的进程中，已经成为一项重
要的促进学生英语学习与提高的活动。
从初赛开始，通过在线考试的形式，学生们可以测验自己的英语能力并进行针对性的复习训练；而复赛则更加注重能力和实际操作的应用，考察学生的综合实力，使学生更好地掌握英语知识和技能；至于决赛，其注重口语与写作方面的能力表现，则更是提升了学生的素质和能力。
除了学生的英语能力的提升外，NECMS还引导学生积极热爱英语、参加学校外的英语活动，同时举办多种线上、线下的英语竞赛，促进学生英语水平的提高。
同时，该竞赛获得了广泛的参与和关注，普及了英语知识，增强了学生的竞争意识。
NECMS还吸引了众多高校的关注和支持。
大学在竞赛中设立奖项，为表现优异的学生提供机会，并举办英语讲座、英语
教学沙龙等活动，全方位地提高学生的英语能力。
当然，在NECMS中得数一千分的学生数量极少，但对每
一个参赛者来说，锻炼英语能力、参加竞赛、体验英语文化、增长知识水平、展示自我风采，这些最终目的才是最为重要的。
