make use of利用,使用。其余选项应该说 都与“imagination”搭不上边:put up with, 忍受,忍 耐; catch up with 赶上,追上; keep track of 追踪, 记录。

It has been esti mated that the average company loses between 10 and 30 per cent of its customers every year. In constantly changing5 , this is not surprising. What is surprising is the fact that few companies have any idea how many customers they have lost. Only now are organisations beginning to wake up to these lost opportunities and calculate the 6implications. Cutting down the number of customers a company loses can make a big 7in its performance. Research in the US found that a five per cen t decrease in the number of defecting(流失的) customers led to 8 increases of between 25 and 85 per cent.In the US, Domino’s Pizza estimates that a regular customer is worth more than $5, 000 over ten years.

【答案】B【解析】作者在文章的开头的第一句话告诉我们:“As a general rule, all forms of activity 1ead to boredom when they are performed on a routine basis(作为一般规律,无论何种形式的活动一旦作为常规反复出现都会导致无聊)”。

下面仅以词语辨异为例总结如下:1、night/eveningnight指the time of darkness between evening and morning;而evening 指the time between sunset and bedtime. What happened to(became of)you?你发生了什么事?5、anxious/eager/worried/hurried/nervousanxious 渴望的(eager);担心的(worried )hurried匆忙的nervous 神经紧张的6、admire/enjoyadmire oneself自我欣赏enjoy oneself玩得高兴7、fun/joke/trickfun和joke都有开玩笑之意,fun不可数,joke是可数名词、前面要加不定冠词a play /a joke on sb. 开某人的玩笑;a practical joke=a trick恶作剧;play a trick on sb.

8、wonder/imagine/notice/examinewonder想知道;imagine想象;notice 注意到;examine 考查9、way/means/methodmeans[常用作单]方法;手段,工具; a means to an end达到目的方法;method方法、办法,与way 可以替换使用。

10、path/road/waypath 小路;人行道road公路way 道路the way to the station第 2 页11、idea/opinion/suggestion/advice/tip idea 主意;意见opinion 意见;见解suggestion可数advice不可数tip n.
