一、复习关系词的用法:(在对应用法处打钩)

二、观察下列句子并翻译
1.I’m taking weight-loss pills called Fat-Less, which are quite popular among young women here.

_____________________________________________________________________ 结论:以上三句是非限制性定语从句。
非限制性定语从句是对先行词起补充和附加说明的定语从句。通常用逗号与先行词隔开,可以修饰主句中的某个名词,也可以修饰整个主句。若省略掉非限制性定语从句,也不会影响句意的完整性。
三、限制性定语从句和非限制性定语从句的区别
观察下列句子并总结:
Her brother who is now a soldier always encourages her to go to college.
她那当兵的哥哥总是鼓励她上大学。
All the books that have pictures in them are well written. 所有里面带插图的书都写得很好。
结论1:限制性定语从句在形式上不用逗号“,”与主句隔开,是先行词不可缺少的定语,如果去掉,主句则失去意义或意思表达不完整。
观察下列句子并总结:
Her brother,who is now a soldier,always encourages her to go to college.
她哥哥是当兵的,他总是鼓励她上大学
All the books,which have pictures in them,are well written.
所有的书都带插图,这些书都得很好。
结论2:非限制性定语从句在形式上用逗号“,”与主句隔开,是对先行词意义的补充说明,如去掉,主句仍能表达完整的意思,通常译成主句的并列句。
结论3:在关系词的使用上
1) 在限制性定语从句中,关系词作宾语时可以省略;在非限制性定语从句中,关系词不可省略。
2) 限制性定语从句中可用that,而非限制性定语从句中则不用that。

The book,__which____ l bought yesterday,is Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix. The engineer __(who/whom/that)__ I met in the office worked very hard.
The engineer,__whom__ I met in the office,worked very hard.

四、注意点:
1.all /some of +which/whom 表达全部或者一部分的量
He has two sons. Both of them are teachers.(他们俩都是教师)
He has two sons, both of whom are teachers. (他们俩都是教师)

as: “正如、就像”, 引导定从时, 可置于句首、句中或句末
固定搭配:such….as so… as the same…as
as还用于一些固定的句式:as is known to all, as is often the case, as often happens as is reported, as is hoped, as is supposed 等

__As___ is known to all, China is a country with the largest population.
This is such an interesting book __as__ we all like.
