Let me tell you all about this exciting place!Shanghai is a massive city with over 24 million people living here. It's located on the east coast of China, right by the East China Sea. The first thing you'll notice about Shanghai is how tall the buildings are. There are so many skyscrapers everywhere you look! The tallest one is the Shanghai Tower, which has 128 floors and is 632 meters (2,073 feet) high. Just imagining being that high up makes me dizzy! One of my favorite parts of Shanghai is the Bund. This is a beautiful waterfront area along the Huangpu River. On one side, you can see the modern skyscrapers of Pudong. But on the other side, there are tons of historical buildings from the 1800s and early 1900s when Shanghai was a big trading port. At night, the whole area lights up and it's so pretty to walk along the Bund.My parents always buy me delicious street food like jianbing (an egg crepe) or xiaolongbao (little soup dumplings)!Speaking of food, the cuisine in Shanghai is out of this world! Because it's such an international city, you can find all kinds of tasty dishes from China and around the world. My personal favorites areShanghai xiaolongbao and shengjianbao (pan-fried baozi). The soup dumplings are famous here and made with such skill. But I also love trying food from other countries too like pizza, sushi, pasta, and more. There's so much cool stuff to see and do in Shanghai for kids like me. One place I really enjoy is the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. They have tons of hands-on exhibits where you can learn aboutscience in really fun ways. My favorite is the virtual reality experience where you can "travel" to outer space or under the ocean!Another awesome place is the Shanghai Zoo, which is one of the best zoos in the entire world. They have gorillas, pandas, polar bears, elephants, and more. But my favorite animals there are the adorable red panda cubs. They're just so fuzzy and playful! The coolest enclosure is definitely the huge indoor rainforest area with crocodiles, monkeys, birds and butterflies.During the summer, it gets really hot and humid in Shanghai. That's the perfect time to go to one of the amazing water parks here like Sangedaning or Dino Beach. They have awesome waterslides, a huge wave pool, lazy rivers, and more. You can spend all day splashing around and cooling off from the heat. And you can't forget about all the incredible shopping in Shanghai! The city is a fashionista's dream with stores selling the latest styles from all over the world. Two of my favorite places to go are the Nanjing Road pedestrian street and the South Bund Fabric Market. I love browsing all the colorful clothes, accessories, toys and more. And mom always has to stop me from buying too much!As you can see, Shanghai really does have it all for kids and adults alike. The non-stop excitement, fascinating history and culture, and blend of modern and traditional is what makes this city so special. I feel so lucky to call the one-and-only Shanghai my home. If you ever get a chance to visit, you'll see why it's one of the most amazing cities on the planet!篇2Shanghai: The Dazzling City on the CoastHi there! My name is Lily and I'm going to tell you all about the amazing city of Shanghai where I live. Shanghai is in the eastern part of China, right on the coast next to the East China Sea. It's a huge, bustling city with over 24 million people! Can you imagine that many people all living together in one place? It's like a whole other world compared to the small town where my grandparents live. The first thing you'll notice about Shanghai is just how tall all the buildings are. Everywhere you look there are giant skyscrapers reaching up into the sky. My favorite is the Oriental Pearl TV Tower which has these big spheres stacked on top of each other. It lights up at night in brilliant colors and looks just magical! The Shanghai Tower is another iconic building - at over 2,000 feet tall, it's one of the highest buildings in the world. I've been up to the observation deck before and the view is just breathtaking. You can see the entire city stretching out in all directions.Shanghai has a really fascinating history too. It used to be a small fishing village until the 1800s when it became one of the most important trading ports in the world. People came from all over - Europe, Japan, the United States - to buy and sell goods through Shanghai. There are still pockets of the city today thatlook just like they did back then, with historic buildings, street markets, and delicious food stalls. The Bund area along the Huangpu River is one of the most popular places for locals and tourists. I love walking along the riverfront and seeing the amazing view of the modern Pudong skyline on the other side. It's the perfect mix of old and new Shanghai!Speaking of food, Shanghai has some of the most delicious food you'll ever taste! My favorite local dish is xiaolongbao - soup dumplings with hot broth inside. They're made by wrapping meat and broth inside a little dough pouch. When you bite into it, the flavorful soup comes bursting out. It's fun to use a straw to slurp up any leftovers too! Besides xiaolongbao, we have amazing noodle and rice dishes, delicious vegetablestir-fries, fresh seafood, and so much more. There are restaurants and food stalls everywhere you turn. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!As big and modern as Shanghai is, there are still so many pockets of nature and greenery all around the city. I love going to parks like Century Park where you can walk along trails, rent a boat for the lake, or just find a quiet spot to read. The trees and flowers make you feel like you've escaped the hustle and bustle,at least for a little while. People here really value having city green spaces like that to relax and recharge.Another awesome thing about living in Shanghai is all the amazing activities and attractions. We have world-class museums covering everything from ancient Chinese culture to modern art and science. The Shanghai Museum and Power Station of Art are two of my favorites. There are also incredible shows like acrobatics performances that will utterly blow your mind with the stunts and tricks. And let's not forget about Disneyland which is right here in the Pudong district! I've been a few times and it's just as amazing as you can imagine.I could go on and on about Shanghai - I've barely scratched the surface! From the towering skyscrapers to the mouthwatering food to the historic neighborhoods, it's a city full of contrasts and surprises. I feel so lucky to call Shanghai my home. If you ever get a chance to visit, I know you'll absolutely love exploring this dazzling, thrilling city on the coast!篇3Shanghai – The Dazzling Pearl of the OrientHi there! Towering skyscrapers seem to touch the clouds, glittering with millions of lights that make the city look like a dazzling pearl at night. The most famous of these skyscrapers is the Shanghai Tower, which stands a whopping 632 meters (2,073 feet) tall – that's almost twice as high as the Empire State Building in New York! But Shanghai isn't just about modern architecture; it's also a city with a rich history and culture. I was so excited because I had never been to a city that big before! Shanghai has over 24 million people living there. That's more people than my entire state! We stayed in a really tall hotel right in the center of the city called the Bund. From our hotel room window, we could see the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower across the Huangpu River. It kind of looks like a giant spaceship or UFO with these huge spheres and bright lights. At night, the whole tower lights up in cool colors. I'd never seen a building quite like it!One of the first things we did was walk along the Bund, which is this famous waterfront area. There are tons of old European-style buildings lining the street that were built way back in the 1800s and early 1900s when Shanghai was a major trade port. I felt like I had stepped back in time! My little brother pretended to be an English gentleman and put on a silly accent.Across the river is the super modern Pudong district with all the contemporary skyscrapers and towers. The views from the Bund of the futuristic Pudong skyline were absolutely incredible, especially at night when everything was all lit up. We took about a million pictures! The next day, we visited the Yu Garden which was first built in the 1500s. It's this gorgeous classic Chinese garden right in the middle of the city with pagodas, ponds with koi fish, little bridges, and intricate wooden buildings. I loved exploring all the winding paths and looking at the rockeries and bonsai trees. It was like an oasis of peace and quiet in the heart of this giant, bustling city.Another one of my favorite experiences was visiting the Yuyuan Gardens Bazaar. It's this lively outdoor market and shopping area near the Yu Gardens with stores selling all kinds of traditional snacks, candies, clothes, souvenirs and more. The smells of all the different street foods cooking weremouth-watering. We tried so many fun snacks like sugar candies, roasted nuts, dumplings, noodles, and my new favorite – those little eggy tarts with the flaky crust! Delicious! There was also tons of entertainment at the bazaar like dancers, magicians, and even people dressed up as characters from Chinese folklore who would pose for pictures. I got myphoto taken with a lady in an elaborate qipao dress and this old man who was a famous historic character (but I can't remember his name now). So fun!On our last day, we visited the world's fastest train - the Maglev! It's a magnetic levitation train that can go over 260 mph and gets you from the city center to the airport in just 8 minutes. From the windows, everything outside was a total blur. It felt like we were going at warp speed! I've never been on anything that fast before. It was so cool but also a little scary!Shanghai is such a wild mix of old and new, East and West. I loved seeing all the modern skyscrapers right alongside age-old temples and gardens. There was just so much to see and do, and the food was out of this world! I had heard Shanghai was a global city, but I didn't really understand what that meant until I experienced it myself. It's a place where the world comes together and the future meets the past. I definitely want to go back someday and explore even more! This was a trip I'll never forget.篇5Shanghai: The City of WondersHi there! My name is Lily, and I'm 10 years old. Today, I want to tell you all about my amazing city, Shanghai. It's one of the biggest and coolest cities in the world, and I'm so lucky to live here!First things first, Shanghai is HUGE! With over 24 million people living here, it's like a giant playground for grown-ups and kids alike. It's a long, beautiful riverfront area with lots of cool old buildings that remind me of what the city looked like a long time ago. At night, all the buildings light up, and it's like a magical wonderland! My parents sometimes take me there, and we walk along the river, eating delicious street food like juicy xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) and sweet, sticky tanghulu (candied hawthorn skewers).Another amazing place is the Shanghai Tower. It's the second-tallest building in the world, and it's so tall that I get dizzy just looking up at it! My friend Ava and I went to the observation deck at the very top once, and we could see theentire city stretching out beneath us. It was like being a giant looking down on a miniature world!Shanghai is also famous for its amazing food! From delicious dumplings to mouth-watering noodle dishes, there's something for everyone. My favorite is the xiaolongbao, those little soup dumplings I mentioned earlier. They're so yummy, and when you bite into them, the hot soup inside bursts into your mouth. Mmm, just thinking about it makes me hungry! But Shanghai isn't just about food and sights – it's also a super modern city with lots of cool stuff to do. There are huge shopping malls with every kind of store you can imagine, and fun theme parks like Disneyland and Happy Valley. And if you love science and technology, you've got to check out the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. They have all sorts of interactive exhibits and even a planetarium! One thing I really love about Shanghai is how it mixes the old and the new so perfectly. You can be walking down a street lined with traditional tea houses and Street food stalls, and then suddenly, you'll turn a corner and find yourself surrounded by sleek skyscrapers and modern art installations. It's like the city is constantly reinventing itself, but still holding onto its rich history and culture.I could go on and on about all the amazing things Shanghai has to offer, but I think you get the idea. It's a city that truly has something for everyone – whether you're into history, food, shopping, or just exploring and having fun. I feel so lucky to call this vibrant, exciting place my home, and I can't wait to see what other wonders Shanghai has in store as I grow up!篇6My Amazing City - Shanghai!Hi there! With over 24 million people, it's one of the most populated cities in the world! Can you imagine having that many neighbors? Crazy, right? One of the coolest things about Shanghai is its skyline. The city is famous for its countless skyscrapers stretching high into the sky. At night, they light up with all sorts of bright colors, making the cityscape look like a million twinkling stars. My favorite building is the Oriental Pearl Tower. It's a tall tower withthese huge spheres stacked on top of each other. From the observation deck, you can see the entire city below you – it's breathtaking! When you walk around Shanghai, you'll notice a mix of modern and traditional architecture. Shiny new shopping malls stand right beside ancient temples and gardens. It's like the past and future exist side-by-side! You can find delicious dishes from all over China here, like xiaolongbao (little soup dumplings), shengjianbao (pan-fried buns), and yangchunnairen (a creamy, sweet fritter). But my personal favorite is the classic Shanghai xiaolongbao - those tiny pouches filled with hot soup and pork are just heavenly! I can easily eat a dozen at a time. Don't even get me started on all the amazing street food stalls and night markets. One thing you can't miss in Shanghai is the Bund - a famous waterfront area. On one side, you have the modern skyscrapers of Pudong, and on the other, the old European-style buildings along the Huangpu River. It's a gorgeous contrast that makes foramazing photographs. Every night, the whole area lights up and there are tons of people out strolling or taking river cruises. If you're visiting Shanghai, I definitely recommend checking out some museums too. The Shanghai Museum has amind-blowing collection of ancient Chinese artifacts, while the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is filled with the coolest interactive exhibits about science, technology and life on other planets! Comparing with the brand new modern buildings, you can find the special architecture of old shanghai city. Peoples, who lived in shanghai in their life, still live here. It’s such a peaceful and quiet place to live. On the other hand, it’s also a good shopping area. There are a lot of beautiful, special and unique goods. The stores are little, but very characteristic with full of art beauty. The whole shopping area is not so large, but you will enjoy walking here and find out a lot of fun. When you’re tired, you can go to one of the little cafe or bar to have a drink or cake.
