Unit1 I was born in a small village. Structure: simple past tense
Aim: to understand conversations containing simple “be”
Function: talk about the people’s past life
Teaching process:
Task1: presentation
Introduce the past tense of verb “be”
Writing on the blackboard:
He is a student now.
You are students now.
I was a student 20 years ago.
Some more sentences about past tense. Make them understand the meaning. Such as: He is 13 years old.
I was 13 years old last year.
We are at school now.
We were not at school last night.
Write down the words:
am is are
was were
Ask the student to make some different sentences. Using “was were”
Task2: New lessons.
I was born in Yangchun.
I was born in a small village.(呈现课题)
Where were you born?
I was born in Liyue.
Where was he born?
He was born in Liyue,too.
Where were they born?
They were also born in Liyue.
I was born in 1974.
When were you born?
I was born in 1992.
Take turns to ask the students, make them answer the questions as the teacher does. Come back to the students’ books:

2.)Listen and match the questions and the answers.
3.)Answer the questions in activity for you.
Ask the students to work in pairs.
