2019届中考英语阅读理解50篇(含答案)2019届中考英语阅读理解50篇(绝对精品训练题,接近实战考题,值得下载练习)1When I was a kid in Minnesota, watermelon was expensive. One of my father’s friends, Bernie, was a rich businessman, who owned a large store in St. Paul.Every summer, when the first watermelons arrived, Bernie would call. Dad and I would go to Bernie’s place. We’d sit on the edge of the dock(码头), feet dangling(摇晃), and got ready for a big meal.Bernie would take his knife, cut our first watermelon, hand us both a big piece and sit down next to us. Then we’d bu ry our faces in watermelon, eating only the heart—the reddest, juiciest, firmest, sweetest, most seed-free part—and throw away the rest.Bernie was my father’s idea o f a rich man. I always thought it was because he was such a successful businessman. Years later, I realized that it was not Bernie’s wealth itself but his way of dealing with it that my father liked. Bernie knew how to stop working, get together with friends and eat only the heart of the watermelon. What I learned from Bernie is that being rich is a state of mind. Some of us, no matter how much money we have, will never be free enough to eat only the heart of the watermelon. If you don’t take the time to da ngle your feet over the dock and enjoy life’s small pleasure, your work is probably hurting your life. For many years, I forgot that lesson I’d learned as a kid on the loading dock. You did an excellent job explaining the good points of smart-phones, but you didn’t talk about their bad points at all. So, I hope you’ll let me give your readers some advice on smart-phone etiquette (礼仪).The first point I’d like to address is loudness. When you talk on your smart-phone in public, please don’t shout. In fact, the microphones in smart-phones are very sensitive(灵敏的). So, you can be heard even if you speak quietly.Another point is about personal space. I don’t think it is polite to make calls in small spaces full of people. This makes others uncomfortable and forces them to listen to your personal business. Wha t’s worse, it stops many face-to-face conversations from ever beginning.Lastly, doing two things at the same time is dangerous. For example, making calls while driving is a bad habit. Pay attention to the road! Similarly, when staying with your friends turn off your smart-phone and enjoy their company. Yours truly,Amber Jala( )36. In exchange, they get some money or other computer time.Paying kids for housework is one of the most popular topics, especially at a time when everyone is more careful about money. Some parents think since adults are paid to do their jobs, we should pay kids for everyday housework. But some people don’t think kids should get rewards(报酬) for doing housework. It’s important for kids to see that we all have responsibilities in the house, and families decide how they want their home to look, and how they are going to keep it looking like what they want.”Other people believe that getting a reward encourages kids to do housework, and it also teaches them real world lessons about how we need to work to get money. There are also apps(程序) that gives kids points and digital gifts that can be redeemed(兑现) either online or in the real world. “Our goal is to give kids lawful power so they can get rewards,” says Chris Bergman. “And kids need rewards to help encourage them. ”( )51. For example, the questions are those like‘how are you? ’ ‘what are you doing? ’‘do you love me? ’ too often. You know, people may feel bored after answering such kinds of questions time after time.Another possible reason may be that you’ve sent something unpleasant to your friend or in your friend circle. the guest﹣host relationship(关系)in China is much different than in some western countries. It seems that they are not nice guests. And western guests sometimes look rude in the eyes of Chinese guests. In China, guests are almost like gods(上帝).Whenever I enter a Chinese person's home, there is always fruit on the table for me,and someone is quick to bring me a cup of tea or water. In the west, generally the guest is not a god.Acting according to(根据)the host's way of doing things is usual behavior for a guest. My wife's mother,a very kind elderly Chinese lady, doesn't smoke. When I see some of her guests smoking in her house,as a non﹣smoker,I feel unhappy.Usually I want to stop them directly(直接地),but I must realize that in China,to be a good host, she must not do that.In most North America homes,if you are a guest, and the hosts are not smokers, you should not smoke in their house. At the very least, you could ask,"Is it OK if I smoke?"But don't besurprised if the hosts say,"No,you can't smoke."In our country. So,if you invite international guests to yourhome, don't be too surprised if they don't bring you a gift.In China, you probably won't need to change the guest﹣host relationship very much because you will probably only be the host, and Chinese are naturally very good hosts. If western hosts invite you to their house, try not to be too surprised if their style of treating you is not what you have expected.(1)Many foreigners think that Chinese hosts are the A in the world.A.bestB.worstC.most naturalD.most difficult(2)When a western guest visits a Chinese family,he often B.A.buys some 山东省德州市乐陵市2019届中考英语复习 阅读理解 科普环保类(含解析)
科普环保类AThere are an extremely large number of ants worldwide。
Each individual(个体的)ant hardly weighs anything, but put together they weigh roughly the same as all of mankind. They also live nearly everywhere, except on frozen mountain tops and around the poles。
For animals their size, ants have been astonishingly successful, largely due to their wonderful social behavior。
In colonies(群体)that range in size from a few hundred to tens of millions, they organize their lives with a clear division of labor.Even more amazing is how they achieve this level of organization。
Where we use sound and sight to communicate, ants depend primarily on pheromones(外激素),chemicals sent out by individuals and smelled or tasted by fellow members of their colony. When an ant finds food,it produces a pheromone that will lead others straight to where the food is.When an individual ant comes under attack or is dying,it sends out an alarm pheromone to warn the colony to prepare for a conflict as a defense unit。

2019中考英语阅读理解编习题(十二)及答案【实战训练】A(2019中考选练)Are you a good receiver? It might sound like a funny question but it is an important one that each of us should ask ourselves.Strangely, most of us are better givers than receivers. We give to our family, our friends and even charities, and opposite to what we might think, most of us are actually very good at giving. But receiving is another matter. We often feel a little uneasy when receiving, although it is not very noticeable. Even praise gets deflected(转向)when it comes our way. When someone praises us for helping him move or clean up the house, we will possibly say, “Ah, it was nothing.” When someone praises the coat we are wearing, we may mention how we bought it at a discount instead of simply enjoying the praise. Actually, the praise is a gift to us, and when we don’t receive it properly, we are dishonoring the giver.Giving is easy, as there is much pleasure in giving, but receiving is an art that takes practice. To be a good receiver requires a sense of close relationship with the giver. It is always a pleasure for a giver to see the gift received in a pleasant way. And this is also the best way for a receiver to honor the giver and give him something back. Many relationships are not so good not because people are not giving to each other, but because they are not receiving from each other well. We should receive the love, respect the praise, and give thanks every time giving happens. We should practice receiving all the pleasures that happen to us every day, instead of taking them for granted. Think of how many simple everyday gifts we are being given all the time: the beauty of nature, art and inspiring(激励人的)conversations. But are we truly receiving them when they happen to us, or are we busy with other matters, not noticing? We should master the art of receiving: accept the gifts life offers us and show our appreciation for them.We are taught that it is better to give than to receive. But this suggests that there is something wrong with receiving. There is nothing wrong with receiving. It is better to give and receive. Let life shower us with gifts, pleasures, joys, surprises, both large and small, and let us take notice of all these things and accept them happily and thankfully. The more we can receive, the more we can give back, but giving more does not necessarily mean receiving more. We must remember it is harder to receive than to give, and try to practice receiving. This practice will benefit us greatly, making us become good receivers aswell as good givers.1. According to Paragraph 2, what do we possibly do when we are praised?A. Honor the giver publicly.B. This is not necessary so, however. Anyone can become a better student if he or she wants to. Here's how:Plan your time carefully. When you plan your week, you should make a list of things that you have to do. After making this list, you should make a schedule of your time. First set your time for eating, sleeping, dressing, etc. Then decide a good, regular time for studying. Don't forget to set aside enough time for entertainment.A weekly schedule may not solve all your problems, but it will force you to realize what is happening to your time.Find a good place to study. When you sit down to study, concentrate on the subject.Make good use of your time in class. Take advantage of class time to listen to everything the teachers say. Really listening in class means less work later. Taking notes will help you remember what the teacher says.Study regularly. If you do these things regularly, the material will become more meaningful, and you will remember it longer.Develop a good attitude about tests. The purpose of a test is to show what you have learned about a subject. They help you remember your new knowledge.
抓住四个"W"和一个"H",就是边读边用铅笔做些标记,把What (事件),When (时间),Where(地点),Why(原因),How(经过)划出来。

2019中考(人教)英语阅读理解基础编题(12)及答案Passage A(2019中考训练题)People often think of the North Pole(北极) and the South Pole as similar frozen(冰冻的)wastelands。
They are both places with very cold temperatures and few people live there。
However, the North and South Poles are not much alike as people may imagine。
The North Pole has no land, only thick ice。
Temperatures seldom go above 32°F, at which water turns into ice。
Most of the time, it stays below zero。
In winter temperatures are usually as low as -30°F。
Although conditions were very poor, people tried for many centuries to reach the North Pole。
About 100 years ago, two men, Robert Peary and Mathew Henson, were able to get to this environment full of troubles and difficulties。
They reached the North Pole on March 8th, 1909。
It was really a hard trip for them。

He sat in his room all afternoon, smoking and thinking.Just before dinner, a telegram arrived. It said, “Barrymore is at Baskerville Hall.”“That becomes a dead end, Watson. We will have to look for another way to go forward.”Just then the door bell rang. I came here to ask you what you had against me!”“No, no,” said Holmes. “Instead, I'll give you money if you tell me about the man in your cab this morning. Beforewe left each time, he would lay some stones on some graves(坟墓). I never asked why. I just thought that was his work.Yesterday, I visited my sick father. He asked me to go to the cemetery and lay some stones. For some reason, it had to be done that day. I agreed. I hadn't been there for a long time. When I got there, I found a woman in front of one of the graves I would lay a stone on. As I went to lay it, I heard her whisper “Thank you”. It was then that I noticed the date of death on the grave was that same day. The grave was that of a child, only five when he died fifteen years ago.“ He's my son,” she said. “But, where's your father? He was always the one to leave the stone.”I told her that my father was ill but he asked me to do this. It seemed important to him. “Your father's kindness means more to me than anything else. When my child died, I came often to see him. It is our custom to leave a stone. It tells the one who is here that he is thought of. But, then we moved away from here.. so many painful memories.. I was so afraid that he would be alone. But your father marked the grave every time he came. Each time I returned here, I saw that stone and it always comforted me. Painful Memories, UnforgottenDTrees in cities “live fast but die young” compared to forests in the countryside, warns a new study.Researchers found that trees in cities die younger than ones in the countryside because of the higher levels of CO2. City-living trees suffer(遭受)a loss of carbon storage(碳储量). That means trees produce less energy from the air.Now researchers say more must be done to deal with the situation. Ian Smith, a PhD student of Boston University in the United States, said, “Cities are in the important position in fighting against rising temperatures and increasing CO2.”. “We find that tree planting alone may not be enough to keep and increase city canopy cover(树冠覆盖率). Because of the age and size of the present canopy, efforts to improve and protect tree health are badly needed for increasing city tree cover and canopy cover.”The research team used a model to watch changes among street trees for several planting and management methods. Researchers also used the model to watch tree growth, death and planting rates(率)both among trees in Boston city and forests in the countryside in Massachusetts. It was discovered that rates of carbon cycling and growth rates among city trees were nearly four times faster than those in the countryside. However, loss of carbon storage and death rates are also higher, especially death rates are more than double higher than those in countryside forests. The study, published in PLOS ONE, has reminded scientists to encourage communities to do more to plant and protect trees. It is important to increase city canopy cover and carbon storage.Researchers say planting and protecting will be needed to make sure cities can develop healthily, but more needs to be done to have a better understanding of city trees—which may be different from countryside forests.42. According to the passage, which of the following is TRUE?A. The more carbon storage loses, the more energy the trees produce from the air.B. The higher the levels of CO2 are, the harder it will be for the plants to survive.C. If we plant enough trees, we are sure to increase city canopy cover.D. 阅读理解浪费可耻
Waste can be seen everywhere in the school. Some students ask for more food than they can eat and others often forget to turn off the lights when they leave the classroom. They say they can afford these things. But I don‘t agree with them.
Waste can bring a lot of problems. Although China is rich in some resources (资源), we are short of(缺乏) others, for example, fresh water(淡水)。
It is reported that we will have no coal(煤) or oil to use in 100 years. So if we go on wasting our resources, what can we use in the future and where can we move?Think about it. I think we should say no to the students who waste things every day. Everybody should stop wasting as soon as possible.
In our everyday life, we can do many things to prevent waste from happening, for example, turn off the water taps(水龙头) when we finish washing, turn off the lights when we leave the classroom, try not to order more food than we need, and so on. Little by little, everything will be changed. Waste can be stopped one day, if we do our best.
