His mother has been dessccrriibbeedd as neurotic and his father as a man who sought relief from his wife in the arms of other women. Perhaps the collapse of his parents' marriage engendered de Maupassant's pessimism, reflected particularly in his stories about infidelity and failed relationships. It certainly influenced his own attitude toward women, which, in turn, affected his creation of characters in stories such as "The Necklace." Events in History at the Time of the short story. The purpose of women. De Maupassant's attitude toward women was ambivalent. He was one of few nineteenth-century authors to recognize and celebrate women's sensuality rather than regard it as a sign of corruption. He was also, however, devastatingly cruel to women, whether in his own life or in his fiction. He recommended that the French Academy commission a treatise on how to "break decently, properly, politely, without noise, scene or violence, with a woman who adores you and with whom you are fed up" (de Maupassant in Steegmuller, p. 178),He scoffed at monogamy, insisting that he could not understand how two women could not be better than one, three better than two, and tenbetter than three.。

英文名著读后感1I believe that one of the factors that makes a piece of literature or even a movie a masterpiece is how well the reader can relate to the story. This is definitely a book everyone can relate to.The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a literary masterpieces, written in 1876 by the famous author Mark Twain. Tom Sawyer is a mischievous young boy who lives in the small town on the Mississippi River called St. Petersburg. The story line is simple, the book reads like a biography or a memoir of a summer in Tom Sawyers life.It is a story filled with action, adventure,, ingeniousideas, love, and schoolyard politics. The whole story is seemingly a complication of what people did or wish they did during their childhood. The book is a little difficult to read at first. Personally,it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. Other than referring to persons of African decent in derogatory terms (which Im sure uses terms even young children already know),the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again,if just for a few hundred pages.英文名著读后感2Many people simply regard Pride and Prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. She perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at her time and gave the people in her works vivid characters. The characters have their own personalities. Mrs. Bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. Mr. Bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, Mr. Darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Even the five daughters in Bennet family are very different. Jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. Elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. Mary likes reading classicbooks. (Actually she is a pedant.) Kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, Lydia. Lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and issomehow a little profligate. When I read the book, I can always find the same personalities in the society now. That is why I think this book is indeed the representative of the society in Britain in the 18th century. The family of gentleman in the countryside is Jane Austen’s favourite topic. But this little topic can reflect big problems. It concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in Britain in her century. You can find these from the very beginning of this book. The first sentence in this book is impressive. It reads: “It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”. The undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession.People always think that Austen was an expert at telling love stories. In fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. After reading this book, I know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man.I couldn’t forget how eager Mrs. Bennet wants to marry off her daughters. If you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, I must mention the situation in Britain at that time. Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s possessions. Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. Thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions. Jane Austen told us that money and possession determined everything, including marriage and love in her century. In “Pride and Prejudice”, the sister of Mr. Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennets don’t have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them. From this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy husband. The society, the relatives would not allow them to get married. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind. A lotof parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages. Education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage. Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We can’t help thinking: can money determine everything?Austen left this problem for us to think. The genius of Jane Austen lies in this perfect simplicity, the simplicity that reflects big problems. Although Austen was only 21 when she wrote “Pride and Prejudice”, her sharp observation of social lives makes the style of this book surprisingly mature and lively. The plots in her works are always very natural. The development of the plot is as inevitable as a problem in mathematics. I think the depth of Pride and Prejudice is the reason that makes this book prominent and classic. Today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time.英文名著读后感3After reading “A tale of two cities”.”A tale of two cities” is one of Dickenss most important representative works. The novel profoundly exposed the society contradiction before the French Revolution, intensely attacks the aristocratic social class is dissolute and cruel, and sincerely sympathizes with the depressed classes. The novel also describedmany magnificent scenes like the revolt people attacked Bastille and so on,which displayed peoples great strength. The novel has portrayed many different people. It is a first-hand account of lu xuns life history, and we may see the complete image of lu xun in the early years. “The battle cry” is the collection of lu xuns short stories from 1918 to 1922. He was full of ambition in his youth, and hoped that China would get rid of the old system and stale traditional ideas. But the frustration he suffered gradually made him feel desperate and lonely. The true story of ah Q shows us the true face of a deformedChina and a group of deformed Chinese before and after the 1911 revolution. It is the epitomies of the people under the feudal rule. The author ascribes the smugness of ah Q to “Chinese spiritual civilization crowns the world “, thus breeding a group of ignorant, ignorant and self-important citizens. At that time, the people were enslaved by imperialism and feudalism. Once beaten, he was healed by “spiritual victory”. Deserves to be thinker, politician, writer lu xun, his pen as the blade, spend a lifetime thinking about national issues, the anatomy of the Chinese soul, spirit of people of the negative aspects to thoroughly expose and criticize.”Looking angrily condemned means, head bowed as a willing ox”, “cold” under the appearance of lu xun, is sending out the light of human nature, such as “long with the maid in shanhaijing o o long, let a person feel thick warmth. In this paper, we first after Yang suppression, o first confessed long too fat, poor sleep, and seek my hidden rat cause I dislike for her. But illiterate her to buy me the shanhaijing but struggled. Which makes me full of respect for her. The long feudal society of China is an ordinary woman. Good, poor, foolish, but given the deep love of lu xun. It plays many roles, it can be tragic comedy director can also be planners; it can be a poison can also be a honey, no one can touch the penetration it. Once the jump into the trap of love, like arrows no longer beyond recovery to Li Xian, but stubbornly toward their own goals and flew ignore distance, straight through the air, finally landing. After landing there are two possibilities: one is intact reach the target, and the other is because for some reason, broken wings ... ...A wonderful end of the story, usually in comedy ended, readers read they are happy and can be seen in a few days later it will be forgotten. If a story ends in tragedy, then it must be something left in the readers mind, or regret, or pity, so that the reader repeatedly chew and thought. People are the pursuit of perfection. At the same time, people also praise the beauty ofdefects, it seems a contradiction, but not does not seem contradictory.”Romeo and Juliet,” is a tragedy, as I wrote above, it left in my mind what I said sure, and perhaps regret that bar ... ...Love more than big, but smaller than life!。

(“Jane Eyre” 151) It starts as the ten-year-old Jane, a plain but unyielding child, is excluded by her Aunt Reed from the domestic circle around the hearth and bullied by her handsome but unpleasant cousins. Under the suggestion of Mr. Lloyd, an apothecary that sympathizes Jane,Mrs. Reed sends Jane to Lowood Institution operated by a hypocritical Evangelicalist,Mr. Brocklehurst, who chastises Jane in front of the class and calls her a liar. At Lowood, Jane befriends with Helen Burns, who helps the newly arrived Jane adjust to the austere environment; she is also taken under the wing of the superintendent, Miss Temple. One spring, many students catch typhus due to the harsh condition. Helen dies of consumption. At the end of her studies Jane is retained as a teacher. When Jane grows weary of her life at Lowood, she advertises for a position as governess and is engaged by Mrs. Fairfax, housekeeper at Thron field, for a little girl,Adele Varens. After much waiting, Jane meets her employer, Edward Rochester, somber, moody, quick to change in his manner, and brusque in his speech. Mysterious happenings occur at Thronfield, including demonic laugh emanating from the third-story attic and a fire set in Rochesters bedroom one night. Rochester attributes all the oddities to Grace Poole, theseamstress. Meanwhile,Jane develops an attraction for Rochester. Rochester, however, often flirts with the idea of marrying Miss Ingram. An old acquaintance of Rochesters,Richard Mason, visits Thornfield and is severely injured from an attack apparently from Grace. Jane returns to Gateshead for a while to see the dying Mrs. Reed. When she returns to Thornfield,Rochester asks Jane to marry him. Jane accepts, but during the wedding,Mason and a solicitor interrupt the ceremony by revealing that Rochester is keeping his lunatic wife,Bertha Mason, in the attic in Thornfield. Despite Rochesters confession,Jane leaves Thornfield. She arrives at the desolate crossroads of Whitcross and runs into the Rivers siblings, who tend her in Moor House. Jane happily accepts the offer of teaching at St. Johns school.《简爱》英文读后感2Jane. Utilizing two literary traditions, the Bildungsroman and the Gothic novel, Jane Eyre is a powerful narrative with profound themes concerning genders, family, passion, and identity. It is unambiguously one of the most celebrated novels in British literature.Born in 1816, Charlotte Bronte was the third daughter of Patrick Bronte,an ambitious and intelligent clergyman. According to Newsman, all the Bronte children were unusually precocious and almost ferociously intelligent, and their informal and unorthodox educations under their fathers tutelage nurtured these traits. Patrick Bronte shared his interests in literature with his children, toward whom he behaved as though they were his intellectual equals. The Bronte children read voraciously. Charlottes imagination was especially fired by the poetry of Byron, whose brooding heroes served as the prototypes for characters in the Brontes juvenile writings as well as for such figures as Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre 。

After we close the covers of the book, after having a long journey of the spirit, Jane Eyre, a marvelous figure, has left us so much to recall and to think:We remember her goodness: for someone who lost arms and blinded in eyes, for someone who despised her for her ordinariness, and even for someone who had hurt her deeply in the past.We remember her pursuit of justice. It’s like a companion with the goodness. But still, a virtuous person should promote the goodness on one side and must check the badness on the other side.We remember her self-respect and the clear situation on equality. In her opinion, everyone is the same at the God’s feet. Though there are differences in status、in property and also in appearance, but all the human being are equal in personality. We also remember her striving for life, her toughness and her confidence…When we think of this girl, what she gave us was not a pretty face or a transcendent temperament that make us admire deeply, but a huge charm of her personality.译文简爱,是一个贫穷但有抱负的,小的身体但巨大的灵魂,晦涩但自重的女孩。

The novel goes through five distinct stages: Janes childhood at Gateshead, where she is abused by her aunt and cousins; her education at Lowood School, where she acquires friends and role models but also suffers privations; her time as the governess of Thornfield Manor, where she falls in love with her Byronic employer, Edward Rochester; her time with the Rivers family at Marshs End (or Moor House) and Morton, where her cold clergyman-cousin St John Rivers proposes to her; and her reunion with and marriage to her beloved Rochester at his house of Ferndean. Partly autobiographical, the novel abounds with social criticism and sinister gothic elements.英语课外阅读读后感篇4《鲁滨逊漂流记》I read the book of Robinson Crusoe, their captors.Article describes multiple sailing in the whole island, Crusoe masters of extraordinary survival 28 years experience, strive for survival, show the ingenuity and a man with indomitable perseverance in the face of hardship persistent existence desire, the lonely and eager to rescue the mood. The story of the independent minded Jane and her love affair with Mr. Rochester opened up new dimensions for women both as writer and generations of feminists. Jane Eyre, the tough girl, really impresses me very much. One of Jane’s impressive and admiring personalities is her self-respect. She wasn’t beautiful, and the ordinary appearance didn’t make others feel good of her. And some others even thought that she was easy to look down on and to tease. But as Jane had said: ‘Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!’ This is the idea of self-respect in Jane Eyre’s mind. God hadn’t given her beauty and wealth, but instead, God gave her a kind mind and a thinking brain. Her idea of self-respect impresses me so much and let me feel the power inside her body. The other gorgeous personality I value very much is her selfless love. After leaving Thornfield with a broken heart, Jane experienced quite a lot. She refused the proposal of St. John, a handsome priest who helped her a lot when she was starving. Later, Jane inherited a wealth of fortune from her uncle which sheshared with her three cousins. But when hearing that Mr. Rochester had lost his eyesight and made his body serious injured while saving his mad wife in a conflagration during which his wife died and all his property was destroyed, Jane returned to Thornfield immediately and devoted her love to Mr. Rochester. What a great decision for her to go back! If I were Jane, I couldn’t promise to get married with Mr. Rochester who is in such a terrible situation. However, Jane did with all her heart!I like the novel very much, especially the character ‘Jane Eyre’ who is a great woman in my mind. Jane makes me realize the importance of self-respect and understand what the true love is. In this sophisticated society, we may not avoid being contaminated, but we can remind ourselves of Jane Eyre and try to be an independent and strong-minded person who treasures self-esteem and true love.英语课外阅读读后感篇6The writer writing unfolds, first is entire Frenchsociety’s one typical window -----small city Var riale’spolitical pattern. At that time, the Russian working people were living in extreme poverty under the dark rule of the tsar, but they were kind hearted and noble minded. The text recounts the fisherman and her wife, SANA, who care and sympathize with the neighbor Simon. After Simon's death, the story of her two orphans is adopted, reflecting the pure and simple compassion of the poor and the noble quality of helping others. Through the life of the Sanna family, the author reflects the miserable life of the poor people during that period and their perfect mind. The fisherman's family was very poor, and their days were very tight. But when the wife of the fisherman saw his neighbour Simon's death, and the sad and moving picture of the two children who were not sensible, he did not hesitate to take them home. After a series of psychological struggles, fishermen andSanna firmly believe that no matter how hard they are, they should bring up these two children. In this text, the deepest part of the text is: her head is back, the cold, green face shows the death of the quiet, a pale stiff hand that wants to catch what, hanging from the straw. Next to the dead mother, two small children were asleep, with curly hair, a round face, old clothes covered with old clothes, a curly body, and two small heads of light yellow hair close together. Apparently, when the mother was dying, she put her clothes on them and hugged their little feet with their old scarves. The child's breathing is even and calm, and the sleeping is sweet. From this startling description of the situation, I realized the poverty and misery of countless working people in the Tsarist era, and I also realized the great mother's love and the two children who were worried about the death of Simon. What impressed me most is the description of Sanna's words: it's heartbeat badly, do not understand why, but I think it should be done. When SANA saw that two poor children were not raised by their mother, they would rather starve themselves or let Simon's two orphans starve to death, which fully demonstrated the kindhearted nature of Sonna. One of the words of the fisherman moved me out: "we have to take them and how to stay with the dead! Oh, we, we can always stay up!" this sentence is so firm, although the fisherman thought about his own days, but also insisted on raising the two orphans of Simon, showing the quality of the fisherman's help and the courage to respond. Although these words are made up of several simple words, they can reflect their good nature.Reading this story, I think we should learn the poor, not greedy, selfish, more contented, more to share with others, andif we can have a noble, kind and compassionate heart, our life is plain but also very happy. On the contrary, if selfishness and greed are the same as stupid rich people.英语课外阅读读后感篇8The essence of the path is that it is contrary to the highway and has no definite destination. But this does not mean that it does not lead to any direction. It does not mean that all walks of life will be lost in all cases. On the contrary. The stroll I mentioned earlier is an exploration, a slow discovery, the only way to really know mountains. In other words, fictions in the form of variation are not closely connected to each other and the feature of "music fragments" is the only way to stealth the various parts of the novel and to limit the true meaning of the theme, and to respect their coherent forms and rhythms. Of course, at the end of all the paths or paths that make us all over the mountains - they make up a broader view, and some of the pictures are more direct and more intense. In the immortality, the theme of the pastoral song appears once again in the work, but it is worth noting that the theme is quite different from the previous one. First, the political Utopia of the positive idyllic pastoral means and the image of the utopian Utopian no longer have the same complete tendencies; it continues to exist in Paul's thinking, through his memory of the 1968 "May storm", but this is a dead reference, and we can even say that it is a positive idyllic. The corpse of the pastoral song. Here, we are completely in the world after ideology, which transcends history. We have been away from the desert pursued by Yang wick and Thomas. To "return" to self is no longer to escape to the peace and edge that can be released to self, no longer to leavethe stage, away from the crowd, to avoid the harm of the crowd to us; to return to self should come to the market and display me in all eyes. Because it is a world of pastoral pastoral, in the final analysis, the modern self world is still a totalitarian world - in a sense, even more harmful than the other types of pastoral songs, because there is no foundation outside the world, and no one can do it for itself. The inevitability of "transcendence". This is a totalitarian power at the end of history.Kundla's writing style and language expression are still worth learning. Forget the philosopher saying that life is philosophy. There is a reasonable existence. Then everyone exists, which means that its philosophy is reasonable, each person has its own way of life and way of thinking, and according to these modes of thinking to live, is the individual's own philosophy. Every character in Kundla's pen is a different philosophy. The name of each chapter metaphores a theme of thinking. "Face" means self. "Immortality" means fame and fame. "Struggle" means Agnes and Luo, "emotional man" means perceptual, "chance" is associated with "bell", "celebration" is the most. The end of the end? I can't be sure to say it is, and it would be a different idea to read later, but the same thing is that Kundla has always led the reader into thinking, no answer.英语课外阅读读后感篇9Recently, I have reading the book "J ane Eyre”。

Jane Austen’s novels were witty, warm and ironic portraits of the privileged classes of 18th- and 19th-century England. It is universally acknowledged that the eternal theme of Jane Austen’s novels is the choice people make for marriage partners, so is in Pride and Prejudice. The chief business of Mrs. Bennet’s life was to find suitable husbands for her five daughters. Once she heard that Netherfield Park had been let out to a London gentleman named Mr. Bingley. She was so eager to get acquainted with Mr. Bingley and marry one of her daughter with the wealthy young man. Through Mr. Bennet’s effort, the Bennet attended the ball held in Mr. Bingley’s house. Mr. Bingley and Jane, the oldest Bennet daughter, a pretty girl of sweet and gentle disposition, were attracted to each other at once. His friend, Darcy, however, created a bad impression, seeming cold and extremely proud. In particular, he insulted Elizabeth Bennet, a girl of spirit and intelligence and her father’s favorite. He refused to dance with her whenshe was sitting down for lack of a partner. To his own surprise, Mr. Darcy couldn’t help falling love with Elizabeth and tried to please that smart girl. However, because of the bad impression he had left on her, Elizabeth refused and sneered at Darcy many times. Elizabeth turned disgusted with Mr. Darcy. She met the new officer, Mr. Wickham, and convinced Darcy’s insult to him. Darcy, however, found himself deeply in love with Elizabeth, despite her family, which he even advised Bingley not to marry Jane. Mr. Collins arrived at Longhorn, tried to marry one of the Bennets’ girl as amender. As he was refused by Elizabeth, he married Charlotte Lucas. During Elizabeth’s visit to the Collins in Kent, she met Lady Catherine as well as her nephew, Darcy, frequently. To her astonishment, Darcy proposed to her. Because of his participation in driving Bingley away from her sister, his wicked way of treating Wickham, and her own hatred of his pride, his sense of superiority and his selfish disdain, she refused him angrily and determinately. However, after reading the letter from Darcy in which explained his idea of Bingley and Jane and the detailed relationship between him and Wickham, she knew she had misjudged both Darcy and Wickham. Her trip to Pemberley certainly proved her heart to Darcy as Darcy had changed his behavior as well. When shelearned that it was Darcy who played a major role in marrying her eloped little sister, Lydia, to Wickham, there was no doubt that she loved him. They two finally went together.Among those characters in this novel, I hate Mrs. Bennet for she was such a snobbish and foolish woman. Her poor nurse urged her to do something disgusting and foolish. Those seemed to help her loved daughters but in fact, all out of her own vanity. I like Elizabeth most. She was the second daughter in the Bennet family, and the most intelligent and quick-witted, Elizabeth is the protagonist of Pride and Prejudice and one of the most well-known female characters in English literature. Her admirable qualities are numerous—she is lovely, clever, and, in a novel defined by dialogue, she converses as brilliantly as anyone. Her honesty, virtue, and lively wit enable her to rise above the nonsense and bad behavior that pervade her class-bound and often spiteful society. Nevertheless, her sharp tongue and tendency to make hasty judgments often lead her astray; Pride and Prejudice is essentially the story of how she (and her true love, Darcy) overcome all obstacles—including their own personal failings—to find romantic happiness. Elizabeth must not only cope with a hopeless mother, a distant father, two badly behavedyounger siblings, and several snobbish, antagonizing females, she must also overcome her own mistaken impressions of Darcy, which initially led her to reject his proposals of marriage. Her charms were sufficient to keep him interested, fortunately, while she navigates familial and social turmoil. As she gradually came to recognize the nobility of Darcy’s character, she realized the error of her initial prejudice against him. She knew her own mind and dare to say no. While sometimes she behaved in an extreme way because of her over self-esteem. Owing to her sensitive mother, she had to protect herself from insulting. Actually, besides Elizabeth, I took a lot interest in Mr. Darcy since the very beginning though he appeared as a proud, self-important man. Instead, such good-looking gentleman like Mr. Bingley did not attract me very much. In some cases, a man with perfect character would always have a velvet paw. Wickham is a typical example that so many people had been deceived by his appearance. As I like both the two roles, I am happy to see them finally get married.Darcy’s proud is evident. His talks, his expressions, every movement of him seemed to show his pride. But as I turning over the novel, I found a rather proud heart in Elizabeth as well. For a country girl, there would not be a lot to be proud of.However, living in a family of silly sisters and a gossipy mother whose mind was always full of marriage, the smart girl could not express herself. Each word she said seemed to protect herself from others, especially to those who were also proud such as Darcy. It was not always good for her; however, for a person like Darcy who had accepted so many compliments, it was really an attraction. If Elizabeth had not been too proud to show her disdain, she would never have had his eyes on her. And if Darcy had not been as generous and kind as he was written to be virtually, he would have hated Elizabeth instead of being attracted so deeply. However, it was her pride which blinded her from learning the truth. She misunderstood Darcy and seemed to dislike all the things which were involved with him. That might si mply be the meaning of the word “Prejudice”. Elizabeth was intelligent, analyzing the character of Mr. Wickham and Darcy; she soon sensibly realized her mistake and made every attempt she could to save it. She never lost her confidence and courage to fight for her own happiness in spite of her low-birth. Darcy also gave up the chances to marry a noble girl such as Miss. Bingley and his cousin. In this way, even if their characters are so different, their marriage was based on the same mind.Of all the chapters of the novel, I am most interested in Elizabeth’s trip to Pemberley with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner. This part itself is developed in a scene of the beauty of Pemberley. The main role, Elizabeth and the Gardiners are all intelligent people. Without the gossip of Mrs. Bennet and the noise of the 3 little sisters, the story goes on with great peace. Their meet with Darcy was both unexpected and expectable. It was unexpected because neither Elizabeth nor Darcy thought of meeting each other in such an agreeable situation. It was expectable because it was such an agreeable situation for them to meet each other again. It was their first meet after Darcy’s proposal. Darcy behaved unbelievably polite and their conversations with Georgiana, Darcy’s sister, went on naturally. It gave a sign that Elizabeth might have changed her hart and indeed, she did. Although the elopement of Lydia and Wickham seemed to disturb them, Darcy at last conquered his pride that he spent considerable time, effort and money on the 2 people he disdained. Another disturbance was Lady Catherine’s visit, but all of these seemed just to quicken their steps to marriage.Jane Austen must have been an idealist which most of the women writers could not avoid being. Charming roles are alwayscharming, disgusting roles are always disgusting. All the pride and prejudice are conquered. Everyone got they deserved to get. She showed us the human’s weakness, pride and prejudice through the novel. It is fragile of human nature which can be easily distorted simply by dissimilation, carelessness or even blindness. Upper-class status and advantages produce the Pride, while poverty and self-esteem against rich produce Prejudice.第四篇:Pride and Prejudice傲慢与偏见英文观后感Pride and PrejudiceAfter reading , I really have lots to complain about. I truly don’t like the people in this novel. But why? I don’t know. Maybe I just don’t understand the realistic society and life and people’s ideas at that time in England, or maybeI am just such a person that always has a prejudice against everybody. The main roles I want to talk about in this novel, of course, are Darcy and Elizabeth.First, I want to say something about Elizabeth. After hearing Darcy’s bad comment on her, she said the words “I will never dance with him” so easily and so unwisely. Here we can know she is arrogant and she can’t stand Darcy’s contempt. But we also can see that she said the words too easily and tooabsolutely without thinking. What a fool! Who can predict what’s going to happen next moment? None! Long after this matter, we all know that she did dance with Darcy. At that time she may already forget the words that she had said before. But I will never forget her arbitrariness That Elizabeth believed Wickham’s words makes me more dislike her. It’s a common sense that one couldn’t be a real good guy, if he can say hurtful things about someone else naturally and directly. But Elizabeth believed. Now that she hated Darcy or you can say she had a prejudice toward Darcy from the very start, she can totally ignore him. However she cared about it very much. Maybe she started to love Darcy the minute she began to have a prejudice towards him. But who knows, and even she herself did not know. Another scene that Darcy showed his love to Elizabeth makes me totally dislike her, especially the words she said that “you are the last man in the world I could ever marry”. She said such irresponsible and hurtful things without any consideration. Actually, she misunderstood everything. I just want to say she is a sad and hateful person. What’s worse, she’s also a gutless person. Finally, she knew Wickham cheated her and Darcy was innocent and Darcy was a perfect gentleman. She found that she had already fallen in love with Darcy deeply. However, she did nothing but wept and regretted. She even didn’t have the courage to express her love to Darcy. As a modern girl, if I was her, I would fly to Darcy to admit my misunderstanding and express my true feelings to him in no time. Happiness is gained by one’s own efforts. If you don’t pursue the happiness, it’s almost impossible to enjoy it. Now what could I say about Elizabeth? I don’t think she would have a happy ending if there is no Darcy. Next, let me talk about Darcy. In the beginning, I like this gentleman. I admire him. When he said that “she is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me, and I am in no humor at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men”, I a dmire him very much. He was an arrogant man. And also he had the enough capital to be arrogant. Yes, he was handsome and wealthy. And then some time later, he asked Elizabeth to marry him, for he fell in love with her. Unfortunately, he was severely rejected by Elizabeth at once, but I still like him. He was a lovely man, right? At least, I think so. However, at the very last he showed his love to Elizabeth once again, regardless of the hurtful words that Elizabeth said before. It makes me disappointment. Where’s his pride? I love his pride all the time, but now it disappeared. If I was Darcy, after hearing Elizabeth’s hurtful word, I wouldnever meet her again and I would even forget her name at once. And eventually he was a poor man that had lost his pride. These are all my opinions about Elizabeth and Darcy. By the way, I really can’t understand why the girls were so crazy about officers and how come Darcy’s love to Elizabeth developed so suddenly. is a classic novel that reflect the social reality, so no one in this novel is perfect. The perfect person does not exist in the world. And it gives me the opportunity to nit-pick. As a whole, they were all kind people in the real society. But who knows, and even she herself did not know.Another scene that Darcy showed his love to Elizabeth makes me totally dislike her, especially the words she said that “you are the last man i n the world I could ever marry”. She said such irresponsible and hurtful things without any consideration. Actually, she misunderstood everything. I justwant to say she is a sad and hateful person. I don’t think she would have a happy ending if there is no Darcy.Next, let me talk about Darcy. In the beginning, I like this gentle man. I admire him. When he said that “she is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me, and I am in no humor at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men”, I admire him very much.He was an arrogant man. Atleast, I think so. However, at the very last he showed his love to Elizabeth once again, regardless of the hurtful words that Elizabeth said before. It makes me disappointment. Where’s his pride? I love his pride all the time, but now it disappeared. If I was Darcy, after hearing Elizabeth’s hurtful word, I would never meet her again and I would even forget her name at once. Joycee本文来源:网络收集与整理,如有侵权,请联系作者删除,谢谢!。

追风筝的人英文读后感1I like this book very much, because it is so delicate and so touching. Even in the face of too strong dark forces, good people never give up hope! This is the one from Afghanistan American writer in the novel, it can be seen as a result of the terrorists and the war and in deep water in the country people, they still retain the ability to illuminate the sky and star light in a dark sky.At first, the novel was seen in a magazine called "for you, thousands and thousands of times". I wanted to read the book at that time. Then, when I had the opportunity to read myself, I had so much hope in my heart. This is a story about redemption, and it is a cruel story. From the initial Hahn commitment, to the last hero complete self salvation, I saw a human rebirth. "The kite runner" background story is true, because true, why so touching. In the novel, between Hahn loyalty, friendship and mills master let me feel the warmth of human nature, and a variety of Afghanistan and the cruel reality, let me have a deep sympathy for the world of misery. The unfortunate experience of Huns children was the impulse of my tears. The kite runner, as we in the pursuit of the good hope, we sometimes to his most important person regardless of the way of thorns, courage; sometimes we to cleanse your soul, will focuson the beauty of "Kite", to find the direction of happiness in pain.我很喜欢这本书,因为它写的那么细腻,那么感人。

读后感英文(通用4篇)英文读后感范文模板篇一many people simply regard pride and prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. she perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at her time and gave the people in her works vivid characters.the characters have their own personalities. mrs. bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. mr. bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, mr. darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. even the five daughters in bennet family are very different. jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. mary likes reading classic books. (actually she is a pedant.) kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, lydia. lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate. when i read the book, i can always find the same personalities in the society now. that is why i think this book is indeed the representative of the society in britain in the 18th century.the family of gentleman in the countryside is jane austen’s favourite topic. but this little topic can reflect big problems. it concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in britain in her century. you can find these from the very beginning of this book.the first sentence in this book is impressive. it reads: “it is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”。

把石头放在路上读后感英文范文模板Reading "Put a Stone on the Road" – A Personal Reflection"Put a stone on the road, put a flower in your heart." This is a line from the poem that inspired the title of "Put a Stone on the Road," written by Dai Wangshu, one of China's most significant modernist writers. The essay tells the story of his encounter with an old woman walking on the road and how he learned about life through her wisdom. The essay's main theme is about seizing opportunities and making good use of them. Dai Wangshu believes that people should appreciate everything they have in life, no matter what kind of problems or difficulties they may face. He emphasizes that there is always something we can do to help ourselves, even when things seem hopeless. One should never give up if they have confidence, as perseverance and patience will eventually bring success.Furthermore, Dai Wangshu emphasizes how important it is to be self-motivated and self-reliant. As he describes his ownexperience of overcoming obstacles and attaining his goals through hard work, he instills in readers the belief that anything is possible if you have determination. In my opinion, this essay is not only inspiring but also thought-provoking. It encourages readers to be grateful for their lives and learn from the wisdom of others. We should all strive to follow our dreams with determination despite any barriers we may come across.Overall, reading "Put a Stone on the Road" has been an enlightening experience for me. It reminded me of how important it is to appreciate everything I have in life and to keep pushing forward towards my goals with unwavering determination.。

It’s been translated to versions of many other languages. And I gather there must be something special, something really great about it. It’s this conviction that drove me to read i t at the first beginning. Well, with due respect to the author, I failed to see how this fairytale be worthy of our attention, despite the fact that many readers claimed this book to be designed for adults.Anyway, as a well-acknowledged book, it must possess unique feature to maintain it’s position. And it’s reputation and popularity will by no means be destroyed by what an unknown man says. I will talk about the main contents of the book, and the inspiration it renders as usual. This book mainly tells us the experience of a prince from a tiny planet, who traveled to many other planets and finally came to the earth and met the pilot in a desert. The prince and the pilot became good friends, and the pilot gradually got to know the feeling and experience of his friend. Before he came to the earth, little prince had been to other 6 little planets where he made acquaintance with some strange people. The first man he met was a king on a little planet, yet he claimed to be the king of the space and ridiculously justified his unshakable governance over all. The second person was a man of vanity, who enjoyed compliments of any form without considering whether it’s sincere or not. The third person was an alcoholic who tried to forget the fact that he’s addicted to a cohol by drinking like a fish. The fourth person was an abosolute money-oriented businessman, who cared nothing but his fortune. Next came the lamp-lighter who performed his duty blindly. The last one was a geographer who knew too much about geography to solve a real problem related to it. These six people each represented one kind of personlike us. The author satirized people’s conceit, emptiness, fakeness, innocence and blindness through the tone of a child.I see eye to eye with the author in that the cause of people’s loneliness can be concluded to the negligence of the bonds that connects them. People are supposed to care about each other, cherish what’s really important for them, and be grateful for the happiness that they’ve gained. We all believe k nowledge and experience enable us to see clearly and make right judgements all the time. But we may sometimes lose the right to speak straighforwardly, think creativelyor love courageously resulting from what we’ve experienced. That why in our middle scho ol textbooks, it’s the little kid that breaks the illusion of the emperor by saying ”but mum, he ain’t were anything”.When I was a child, I was definitely a good boy who went home on time after school and did his homework and never tried anything without mom’s permission. And now I am a grown-up, and still I am a good man, at least, that’s what I heard. Sometimes when I was lonely and I began to think about my childhood, then all the happiness and care-freelife came back to me as it were yesterday. Kids that once accompanied me during my childhood now become fathers and mothers of their kids and I myself am a child no more. Thinking about all these things have made me moody. There’re changes happening in our lives whether weare happy about it or not.P eople told me life is a journey which will never stop once it’s started. What’s left behind are happiness and sorrow, pride and shame, success and regret. There’s good old time to reminisce and there’s sad hours that reminds us of the pain. Your feeling ma kes them real, and you know you lived.I want to conclude by saying some positive words that each yestersday used to be today, and each today is the future of yesterday, so making the most of today is the best way to cherish your lives. Our mortal beings are doomed to die. It’s not sad, instead, death it’s just a process of our lives. After all, we’ve lived our lives andit’s what we do and how we think that determine who we are.(when you look at the above passages, don’t regard it as a composition or an article, because if you do, you will be puzzled at the structure. It’s just a few words that come to my mind at the moment and I type them.)Have a nice day!

Book Report ExampleIn Contempt Book ReportBook Written by Chris DardenThis report is based upon the book In Contempt, written by Christhopher A. Darden with Jess Walter. This book is published by Regan Books an imprint of Harper Collins Publishers and is copyrighted 1996 by Christopher A. Darden.Introduction of the AuthorThe book In Contempt was written by Christopher A. Darden. Chris Darden is famous for being one of the prosecuting attorneys in the court case The People vs. Simpson. He has worked hard his whole life to reach the status he has now achieved. He proved to America that even though he wasn't a high-priced private lawyer that he could present a well-thought out and planned case under the tremendous pressure he and the other prosecutors had to endure during the Simpson case.SummaryI found this book to be very well thought out and well written. Most people would assume that this book was written with the intentions of making a quick-buck off the misfortune of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. I, however, do not believe this to be true. The way that the author speaks of the victims in the book and the way he spoke of them before and after the trial shows that he really cared about the lives of these people that he didn't even know. He even went as far as to say in the book that this was the first case that affected him personally and emotionally. As one may expect, the majority of this book is taken up with the Simpson case. Chapters two through six detail his life from birth, his childhood in a working class district of Richmond, California and his becoming a district attorney of Los Angeles in 1981. Chapters two and three mostly consist of stories of him and his brother, Michael, stealing from local stores or his brothers’ drug deals. When Michael hit his mid-teens he started selling marijuana off the front porch of the house and Chris was his lookout. In return, he was told that he would be cut in on the action but never was. No matter what, Michael always told Chris never to use drugs. Throughout the book Chris Darden refers to his brother as a good role model for him no matter what he did.I feel the purpose of Chris Darden writing this book is to try to show the hardships he had to go through as a black man trying to become a lawyer. Also I feel that he is trying to reveal the truth behind what was happening in the Simpson case.Body of the ReviewThis book is funny and at other times the mood is more serious. The few chapters in the beginning were the funny ones. In these chapters he writes about his childhood and works hisway forward to when he starts to work in the District Attorney's Office. Specifically he tells about how he was caught stealing a Hostess Fruit pie at the corner store, sneaking crackers from his house pantry, and being teased about having false teeth as a child. As he writes and talks about when he gets older the mood changes and gets more serious. He writes a lot about his brother who was a big influence on him when he was young. Darden retells stories of how he and his brother, Michael, would salvage old, broken radios from the trash and repair them and then sit on Saturday nights listening to the local R and B station. His brother would always comment on how the Temptations were the best band ever. Also, he tells of the time when his brother was smoking a joint in their bedroom when their father came bursting into the room. Thinking quickly, Chris' brother swallowed the still lit joint. His father smelled the marijuana but never found any evidence of the joint. As he tells about his childhood, he remembers how his grandmother would ask him what he wanted to be when he grew up and as far back as he could remember he would say that he wanted to be a lawyer. Christopher Darden grew up like a lot of black families of that time period, poor. They did have enough money to buy a 30,000 house and they always had a pantry full of food. Not many people from his neighborhood ever made much of themselves but he always believed in himself and his grandmother always believed that he could do anything that he put his mind to. She was the only person that believed he could be a lawyer and always introduced him as a future lawyer. In high school Chris followed in his brother's footsteps and joined the track team. This would be his ticket to a scholarship at Berkeley University, and the start to his law career. After completing college, he applied for a job in the District Attorney's Office, and surprisingly got the job at the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office in 1981. Through the years, he worked his way up through the ranks of the D. A. s' Office and became a very prominent lawyer. He worked for 14 years before the Simpson case was brought before him. He never expected to work the case but sometimes strange things happen. He worked hard to prove that Simpson was guilty but justice was never found.Out of the 20 murder cases that Darden had worked, the Simpson case was the only one he lost. After he lost, he vowed never to work in law again.ConclusionI didn't find this book particularly useful, but it was a very good book to read and it gave me more insight as to what has happened in Chris Darden's life and what he went through during the Simpson case. When I got the book I approached it like most students do when they have a book report to write. I didn't want to read the book but had to in order to get a good grade. As I started to read the first chapter, which was about the Simpson case I realized that the book wasn't just the boring drivel you would expect from a lawyer. It was intelligently written and had amusing stories from his childhood and fraternity days. Although I didn't want to read it' it wasn't as bad as I had expected, and I found it to be enjoyable and informative.。
