Graduation Ceremony English Speech Dear Students, Faculty, Families, and Friends,It is an honor to stand here today as we celebrate our achievements and look towards the future. As we gather together as graduates, we are reminded of the journey that brought us to this moment. For many of us, this journey started years ago with a dream. A dream to pursue an education, to gain knowledge and skills, and to make a difference in the world. We faced challenges along the way, but we never gave up. We studied hard, worked long hours, and persevered through both success and failure. Now, as we stand here today, we can say with confidence that our hard work has paid off. We have earned our diplomas, and we are ready to embark on the next chapter of our lives. But graduation is not just about the past and the present. It is also about the future. As we move forward, we will face new challenges and opportunities. We will encounter new people and cultures. And we will continue to learn and grow.So what does the future hold for us? It is impossible to say for certain, but I believe that we have the power to shape our own destiny. We have the power to choose our own path, to set our own goals, and to make our own mark on the world. As we do so, we should always remember the values that brought us here today. Values such as hard work, perseverance, and dedication. But also values such as kindness, compassion, and empathy. In closing, I would like to congratulate each and every one of us on our graduation. We have achieved something truly remarkable, and we should be proud of ourselves. But let us also remember that this is just the beginning. Let us continue to learn, to grow, and to make a positive impact on the world.Thank you.。

英语毕业典礼的致辞1Ladies and Gentlemen,First of all,Thank you President Zeng for inviting me to speak, and thank you to the Class of 20xx 7for not protesting…seriously. I am extiaordinarily happy to have witnessed this 17graduation ceremony of 20xx today because it represents, for me, exactly the best honor of my life. As for a graduate of 20xx here and now a presidet of PekingUniversity,I was wondering what I should say to you —there are so many possibilities you know?Until now, I have been work for more than a decade, you wanted to know about my experiences after graduating and I understand thatbecause the twenties are that time in your life when you’re finding out yourself and really getting acquainted with your own .It’s not supposed to be easy, but it doesn’t have to be tor ture. You’re supposed to have moments of uncertainty about which path to take because the 20’s are full of crossroads. You will leave our campus soon where you left numerous sweat and imagination. You will say goodbye to your teachers and students who accompanied you days and nights. Moreover, you will start your new journal, full of hope and challenge, also countless hardship and temptation. I would like to give your some suggestions as your upperclassman when you leave.Firstly, be determined to return to and serve for society, and diligent to enrich lives. “Work creates wealth and diligence changes lives.” Whatever life path is and whatever careers you choose, we need to stick to your dream, face up to the fact with healthy mind and confront lives with positive attitude. We have to brave enough to take on heavyresponsibilities, overcome difficulties and dare to show ourselves in the hardest places. Hope we can lower our prospect to get an object, deepen our foundation to obtain a space, and postpone our enjoyment to achieve a career.Secondly, set up a profound ideal and try to be a talent. “The bird can fly freely in the soaring sky and the fish can jump freely in the broad sea”. The society is an everlasting university, and we have to learn diligently, practice constantly and explore hard. Only if we set up profound ideals, diligent to practice, determine to move forward, dare to innovate and cooperate with others can we catch the invaluable historic opportunities and explore a space for ourselves in work.Thirdly, be brave to face the competition and welcome the challenge. “Survival of the fittest”.There are lots of hardships and unsatisfactory in the future. The one who is brave and confident, dare to confront challenges and move forward bravely is the superman of lives and can control his or her lives by himself or herself. However far you walk and however high you fly,I consistently believe and expect that you can be successful in your job, live happily and have a colorful life. Sincerely hope that youcan have a nice trip and have a beautiful and awesome future.Thank you!女士们、先生们:首先感谢曾校长给我发言的机会,同时也非常感谢现场的你们,20xx级的全体学生。

Ladies and Gentlemen, esteemed faculty, proud parents, and my fellow graduates,Today, as we stand on the threshold of a new chapter in our lives, I am honored to stand before you and share my thoughts and reflections on the incredible journey that has brought us to this moment. This is not just a celebration of our achievements, but also a farewell to the years we have spent together, learning, growing, and discovering who we are.First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my parents for their unwavering support and love. They have been my rock, my inspiration, and my guiding light throughout my college years. Without their sacrifices and encouragement, I would not be here today. To my professors, I owe you a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid. You have been mentors, guides, and friends. Your dedication to teaching and your passion for your subjects have not only expanded my knowledge but also ignited a lifelong love for learning. I will always cherish the wisdom and knowledge you have imparted to us.To my fellow graduates, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations. This is a momentous occasion for all of us, and we have earned it. We have faced challenges, overcome obstacles, and grown in ways we never imagined. We have become more resilient, more confident, and more compassionate individuals. Today, we leave the walls of our alma mater as graduates, ready to take on the world.During my college journey, I have learned countless lessons that will stay with me forever. Here are some of the key takeaways that have shaped me as a person and a professional:1. Embrace Failure: College is a place where we are encouraged to challenge ourselves and step out of our comfort zones. This often leads to failure, but it is through failure that we learn and grow. I have failed many times, but each failure has taught me valuable lessons that have made me a better person.2. The Power of Networking: Building a strong network of friends, mentors, and colleagues is crucial for personal and professional growth.I have made countless connections during my college years, and I am confident that these relationships will continue to benefit me in the future.3. Time Management: College life can be overwhelming, with assignments, exams, and social events. Learning how to manage my time effectively has been one of the most challenging but rewarding aspects of my college experience. It has taught me the importance of prioritizing and balancing different aspects of my life.4. The Importance of Balance: College is a time to explore and experiment with different interests. I have discovered my passion for photography, writing, and public speaking. Balancing these interests with my academic responsibilities has enriched my college experience and made it more fulfilling.5. The Value of Diversity: Our college campus is a melting pot of cultures, ideas, and perspectives. Interacting with people from diverse backgrounds has broadened my horizons and taught me the importance of empathy, understanding, and respect.6. The Pursuit of Excellence: I have always strived for excellence in everything I do. College has taught me that there is no limit to what we can achieve if we set our minds to it. The pursuit of excellence is not just about grades; it is about striving for personal growth and making a positive impact on the world. As we move forward, we must remember that college is just the beginning. The real world awaits us with all its challenges and opportunities. Here are some words of advice as we embark on this new journey:1. Stay Curious: The world is constantly evolving, and it is our responsibility to stay informed and adapt. Embrace new ideas, explore new horizons, and never stop learning.2. Be True to Yourself: It is easy to get caught up in the expectations of others, but it is important to stay true to who you are. Follow your heart, pursue your passions, and let your true self shine through.3. Take Risks: Life is full of opportunities, but it is up to us to seize them. Do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and take calculated risks. You never know where they might lead you.4. Cultivate Relationships: The relationships we build during our college years will be invaluable in the future. Invest time and effortin nurturing these connections, and never underestimate the power of a strong support system.5. Give Back: As we move forward, let us not forget the importance of giving back to our communities. Use your skills, knowledge, and resources to make a positive impact on the world around you.In conclusion, as we stand on the brink of a new chapter, I want to leave you with one final thought: College has been a journey of self-discovery, growth, and transformation. We have come a long way, and we have much to be proud of. Let us carry the lessons we have learned, the friendships we have forged, and the dreams we have chased into the future, and let us make a difference in the world.Congratulations, Class of [Year]. Today, we graduate not just as individuals, but as a community of learners, leaders, and change-makers. The world is waiting for us, and I have no doubt that we will rise to the occasion.Thank you, and may our paths lead us to success, happiness, and fulfillment.Godspeed.[Your Name]。

大学毕业典礼演讲英文5篇大学毕业典礼演讲英文(篇1)Opportunities and ChallengesFirst, I would like to know, what does your destiny offer you? Happiness, wisdom, a strong body or something else. If I had asked this question to president Nixon, he would probably had said,”Our destiny offers not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity.”Needless to say, one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 20XX Olympic Games. Till now, we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. How much changes have you seen? New roads, new subway lines, public-exercising equipments with beautiful colors, large blocks of grass fields, and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction.Other than those, there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example, more and more people will get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attract them strongly. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment, for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened. What is more, Olympic Games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youth with the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so many advances, could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China. But I think everyone should use some time to think of this question, ”Does the Olympic Games have any special meaning to you?”For us, I mean the Chinese youth, 20XX Olympic Games is a tremendous gift. Because what we are waiting for is to do something significant as repaying the love given to us .The society is just like a ship, and in our dreams the captain is waving his hand and saying ”Hey! Come here and take the helm! ”How charming his voice is, but we have never heard of it in our true life. This morning, however, when we wake up, we will see the Olympic Games waving its hand. After chewing, most of us will have at least one plan about what to do for the Olympic Games. And mine is to be a “comforter” ----that is someone who will give comfort to others. At the end of my speech, I hope all the preparation will go well, and everyone will show their ability to the world. Let us seize opportunities and give a big smile to challenges.大学毕业典礼演讲英文(篇2)My dear Mr. and Misses, my fellows schoolmates.Good morning! As you know and see, it is a sunny bump harvest season. In the city, in our school campus, everywhere is surrounded with roses which we together planted 4 years ago. Today may these roses and our friendship as well be together and comfort our excited hearts! It was four years ago that everyone of us came from every part of China and formed a new collective. As we are young, it’s very easy for us tocommunicate. It was in the past four years that we were ambitious. It was in the past four years that we worried. It was in the past four years that we were content. It was in the past four years that we were vexed. It was in the past four years that we were friendly and lonely ... and it was in the past fours that we studied, lived and respected each other with genuine and with our ambitions. Nothing in the world is more significant than we miss all of these. We miss you─teachers who are tireless in teaching; we will keep your gestures and your white hairs in our hearts deeply; we will miss the quietness with the lights at night in the classroom; we will miss the race and exercise on the playground; we will miss even the crowds in the dining hall and the quarrel on the beds; we will still miss every green piece and every piece of waste paper flying like flakes in the air ... However, today we will leave nothing but the first rose with our Alma Mater and our teachers which is entrusted with our love and respect.4 years seems very long but 4 years seems very short. From now on, we all will go into the society. The society is broad and wide for us. We will shoulder heavy responsibilities; we will work diligently; and we will expect to be informed of good news from one another. Now, I beg you all to cherish the occasion; to remember the names, the status, appearance and the character of the person around you. Now let’s be hand in hand together; let’s present the rose to each other. May the rose carry our appreciation and blessing! We are very closely linked no matter what the world may be. May the fresh rose in our hands keep its fragrants!Thank you all again!大学毕业典礼演讲英文(篇3)president clinton:thank you. thank you, president chen, chairmen ren, vice president chi, vice minister wei. we are delighted to be here today with a very large american delegation, including the first lady and our daughter, who is a student at stanford, one of the schools with which beijing university has a relationship. we have six members of the united states congress; the secretary of state; secretary of commerce; the secretary of agriculture; the chairman of our council of economic advisors; senator sasser, our ambassador; the national security advisor and my chief of staff, among others. i say that to illustrate the importance that the united states places on our relationship with china.i would like to begin by congratulating all of you, the students, the faculty, the administrators, on celebrating the centennial year of your university. gongxi, beida. (applause.)as im sure all of you know, this campus was once home to yenching university which was founded by american missionaries. many of its wonderful buildings were designed by an american architect. thousands of americans students and professors have come here to study and teach. we feel a special kinship with you.i am, however, grateful that this day is different in one important respect from another important occasion 79 years ago. in june of 1919, the first president of yenching university, john leighton stuart, was set to deliver the very first commencement address on these very grounds. at the appointed hour, he appeared, but no students appeared. they were allout leading the may 4th movement for chinas political and cultural renewal. when i read this, i hoped that when i walked into the auditorium today, someone would be sitting here. and i thank you for being here, very much. (applause.)over the last 100 years, this university has grown to more than 20,000 students. your graduates are spread throughout china and around the world. you have built the largest university library in all of asia. last year, 20 percent of your graduates went abroad to study, including half of your math and science majors. and in this anniversary year, more than a million people in china, asia, and beyond have logged on to your web site. at the dawn of a new century, this university is leading china into the future.i come here today to talk to you, the next generation of chinas leaders, about the critical importance to your future of building a strong partnership between china and the united states.the american people deeply admire china for its thousands of years of contributions to culture and religion, to philosophy and the arts, to science and technology. we remember well our strong partnership in world war ii. now we see china at a moment in history when your glorious past is matched by your present sweeping transformation and the even greater promise of your future.just three decades ago, china was virtually shut off from the world. now, china is a member of more than 1,000 international organizations -- enterprises that affect everything from air travel to agricultural development. you have opened your nation to trade and investment on a large scale. today, 40,000 young chinese study in the united states, withhundreds of thousands more learning in asia, africa, europe, and latin america.your social and economic transformation has been even more remarkable, moving from a closed command economic system to a driving, increasingly market-based and driven economy, generating two decades of unprecedented growth, giving people greater freedom to travel within and outside china, to vote in village elections, to own a home, choose a job, attend a better school. as a result you have lifted literally hundreds of millions of people from poverty. per capita income has more than doubled in the last decade. most chinese people are leading lives they could not have imagined just 20 years ago.of course, these changes have also brought disruptions in settled patterns of life and work, and have imposed enormous strains on your environment. once every urban chinese was guaranteed employment in a state enterprise. now you must compete in a job market. once a chinese worker had only to meet the demands of a central planner in beijing. now the global economy means all must match the quality and creativity of the rest of the world. for those who lack the right training and skills and support, this new world can be daunting.大学毕业典礼演讲英文(篇4)Dear faculty members, distinguished guests, families, friends and most importantly, today’s graduates:Good morning!Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak to you here on behalf of the graduates. This is a memorable day both in our personal lives and in the life of this school.Four years ago, we entered Sanjing university. Some of us may have doubted that if we had made the right decision, but now, because of the friends we made , because of the sadness and happiness we shared, because of the teachers who gave us guidance, because of all the time in Sanjiang we spent and all activities we participated in, we could not tear ourselves away from the dear campus. It’s difficult to contemplate that perhaps some of us may never see each other again. But we have so rich memeries and experiences that we will never foget each other.Today we enter the real world to face the challenge .With the knowledge and friends we gained from our university, with the endurance, perseverance, industry we possess, every obstacle that we may encounter in our lives will be overcome. I believe that everyone will make every effort to strive for our life. And remember, an ideal job is not found lying in the street; it takes time and effort to find. But in the end, it will be there for you. So don’t settle for second best and keep looking.Importantly, We are here today to give our thanks to the unconditional support of each of you, your words of encouragement in good times and your words of consolation in difficult moments. We thank you for your enormous patience with us, for always giving a little more than we asked for and for instilling in us the values and principles that govern our lives now and helping us to become the people we are. The degree that we will receive today also belongs to you.Last, I would like to congratulate each of you for having reached this goal. We did it, and now we are ready to graduate!大学毕业典礼演讲英文(篇5)You must believe in yourself and in your work. When our first Batman movie broke all those box-office records, I received a phone call from that United Artists exec who, years before, had told me I was out of my mind. Now he said, “Michael, Im just calling to congratulate you on the success of Batman. I always said you were a visionary.” You see the point here — dont believe them when they tell you how bad you are or how terrible your ideas are, but also, dont believe them when they tell you how wonderful you are and how great your ideas are. Just believe in yourself and youll do just fine. And, oh yes, dont then forget to market yourself and your ideas. Use both sides of your brain. You must have a high threshold for frustration. Take it from the guy who was turned down by every studio in Hollywood. You must knock on doors until your knuckles bleed. Doors will slam in your face. You must pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and knock again. Its the only way to achieve your goals in life.。

毕业典礼英文致词i am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. i never graduated from college. truth be told, this is the closest i've ever gotten to a college graduation.today i want to tell you three stories from my life. that's it. no big deal. just three stories.the first story is about connecting the dots.i dropped out of reed college after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before i really quit. so why did i drop out?it started before i was born. my biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. she felt very strongly that i should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife. except that when i popped out they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. so my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking: "we have an unexpected baby boy; do you want him?" they said: "of course." my biological mother later found out that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. she refused to sign the final adoption papers. she onlyrelented a few months later when my parents promised that i would someday go to college.and 17 years later i did go to college. but i naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as stanford, and all of my working-class parents' savings were being spent on my college tuition. after six months, i couldn't see the value in it. i had no idea what i wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. and here i was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. so i decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out ok. it was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions i ever made. the minute i dropped out i could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.it wasn't all romantic. i didn't have a dorm room, so i slept on the floor in friends' rooms, i returned coke bottles for the 5 deposits to buy food with, and i would walk the 7 miles across town every sunday night to get one good meal a week at the hare krishna temple. i loved it. and much of what i stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on. let me give you one example: reed college at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction in the country. throughout the campus every poster, every label on every drawer, was beautifully hand calligraphed. because i had dropped out and didn't have to take the normal classes, i decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this. i learned about serif and san serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between different letter combinations, about what makes great typography great. it was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can't capture, and i found it fascinating.none of this had even a hope of any practical application in my life. but ten years later, when we were designing the first macintosh computer, it all came back to me. and we designed it all into the mac. it was the first computer with beautiful typography. if i had never dropped in on that single course in college, the mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. and since windows just copied the mac, its likely that no personal computer would have them. if i had never dropped out, i would have never dropped in on this calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do. of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when i was in college. but it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later.again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. so you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. you have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. this approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.my second story is about love and loss.i was lucky – i found what i loved to do early in life. woz and i started apple in my parents garage when i was 20. we worked hard, and in 10 years apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. we had just released our finest creation - the macintosh - a year earlier, and i had just turned 30. and then i got fired. how can you get fired from a company you started?well, as apple grew we hired someone who i thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. but then our visions of the future beganto diverge and eventually we had a falling out. when we did, our board of directors sided with him. so at 30 i was out. and very publicly out. what had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.i really didn't know what to do for a few months. i felt that i had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down - that i had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. i met with david packard and bob noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. i was a very public failure, and i even thought about running away from the valley. but something slowly began to dawn on me – i still loved what i did. the turn of events at apple had not changed that one bit. i had been rejected, but i was still in love. and so i decided to start over.i didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. the heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. it freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.during the next five years, i started a company named next, another company named pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife.pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, toy story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. in a remarkable turn of events, apple bought next, i retuned to apple, and the technology we developed at next is at the heart of apple's current renaissance. and laurene and i have a wonderful family together.i'm pretty sure none of this would have happened if i hadn't been fired from apple. it was awful tasting medicine, but i guess the patient needed it.sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. don't lose faith. i'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that i loved what i did.you've got to find what you love. and that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. and the only way to do great work is to love what you do. if you haven't found it yet, keep looking. don't settle. as with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. and, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. so keep looking until you find it. don't settle.my third story is about death.when i was 17, i read a quote that went something like: "if you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." it made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, i have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "if today were the last day of英文毕业典礼致辞范文Honorable teachers, principles, dear parents and students: Good morning to you all. 毕业生代表致辞全英文篇1I’ve yet to meet anyone who thinks that this world that we live in isperfect. This is not a political statement. It’s equally true of liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans. And if you don’t think the world that we live in is perfect, the only way it gets better is if good people work to repair it. Our students, our faculty, ourstaff and alumni are doing that daily, and it makes me so proud. This year, I had the privilege to meet, and be moved by, not just one but two of the nation’s preeminent poets – the United States Youth Poet Laureate, our own Amanda Gorman, and the United States Poet Laureate, our own Tracy K. Smith. I’ve also had the chance to marvel at artists who every day breathe life into our campus with their performances and their creative work –it’s amazing to see the talent that is represented on this campus and among our alumni, our faculty, and staff. And every day, I’ve learned more about the remarkable efforts of our faculty to improve the world:Alison Simmons and Barbara Grosz were [are] making sure that the next generationof computer scientists is prepared to address the ethical questions posed by the development of new digital technologies;Ali Malkawi and his HouseZero, which is demonstrating the possibilities of ultra-efficient design and new building technology to respond to the threat of climate change;毕业生代表致辞全英文篇2Esteemed Ladies and Gentlemen, distinguished guest, good morning. I am excited to address you on this stage today. On behalf of all the graduates of Shandong University’s School of Information and technology, I would like to thank all the people who cared about and encouraged us as we worked towards our goals. Especially, I wouldlike to thank my parents. It is they who give me great strength for my every steps taken in my life.Four years ago, at an age when some youngster farming and harvesting, at an age some coevals handing a rifle to defendour country, at the age of 19 or 20, we determined to unravel the secrets of mathematics and the mysteries of the inexhaustibly running charges. That was my dream; that was, is, and will be one of the most important choices of my life.Four years is too long for a ten-year old boy, for it means four birthday cakes and 20 centimeters taller. But for us, it runs toofast to catch up with. However, so many signals strongly prove that the four years definitely exists: piles of books, scholarships in our account, theunforgettable breathtaking view of our campus, songs and laughter in our dormitory, friends sharing the same ambitions, and our first sweet love… Ladies and Gentlemen, as we leave this campus, a new page has been unraveled. It is time to break the bad habit of expecting something for nothing. Let us take more responsibility, not only for ourselves and families but for our society and country. Ladies and Gentlemen, there isno doubt that we are facing one of the most serious economical crises in our history. In order to achieve our goal and to renew our country, we must meet challenges abroad as well as at home. In this new century, let us begin to make contribution to the world and toall human beings with energy and hope with faith and discipline. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up the enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. However long and hard the road may be, let us go forward together with our enthusiasm and our united strength.毕业生代表致辞全英文篇3In my 18 years of life, there have been many things. University days are the best part of them. I can never forget the days when I stepped into my university. I was impressed by its garden-like campus, its enthusiastic students and especially its learning atmosphere. I at once fell in love with it.After the arduous military training, I get absolutely absorbed in my studies. The classes given by the teachers are excellent. They provide us with information not only from our textbooks but from many other sources as well. They easily arouse my insatiable desire to take in as much as I can.Frankly speaking, at first I had some difficulty following the teachers. However, through my own efforts and thanks to my teachers guidance, I made remarkable progress. Now Ive benefited a lot from lectures and many other academic reports.Learning is a long process; Ill keep exploring in the treasure house of knowledge to enrich myself. This summer I got out of the ivory tower and entered the real world. A publishing house offered me a part-time job in compilation and revision. At the beginning I was belittled by my colleagues. But they werereally surprised when I translated seven English articles over 5,000 words on only one day. Gradually, they began to look at me with respectful eyes. In their opinion I turned out to be a useful and trustworthy colleague.I also realize that only those who bring happinefor others can be truly happy. So I often take part in activities concerning public welfare. I once went to a barren mountain village with my classmates. We taught the kids there who could not afford school. While showing them how broad and how civilized the outer world is, I was deeply touched by their eagerneto learn, their honesty and their purity. I couldnt control my tears on the day when we left. The precious experience with the poor kids made me aware of the responsibility on the shoulders of us, future teachers.Besides study and social practice, there are entertainments as well. I do body building every day, hoping to keep healthy and energetic. We also write a play and put it on in our spare time.Campus life is the most splendid time. But different people have different choices. The majority of students cherish their beautiful season and cherish the hope that one day theyll become outstanding. But there are indeed some students still under ignorance. They gather together for eating, drinking or playing cards. Theyre busy in searching for a girlfriend or a boyfriend. They forget completely about their mission as college students and the hope of their motherland. Finally, I do hope everybody can try their best to become a worthy citizen of the country. I do hope everybody can become the backbone of our nation and make great contributions to society毕业生代表致辞全英文篇4Good morning,my dear teachers and schoolmates,It’s a great honor for me to make a speech on behalf of the graduating classes. How time flies! Our junior high school lives will come to an end. In the past three years, we’ve had a beautiful school and it provides us with a good study place. Teachers are our friends. They’ve given us interesting lessons and we all love them. We’ve learned a lot from them, not only knowledge but also the way to solve problems in life. Thanks for our teachers’ training, parents’ support and the help from classmates. Without them, we couldn’t have so much wonderful time.At last, we hope our school will become better, our teachers will be healthy for ever and all our dreams will come true.Thank you for listening.毕业生代表致辞全英文篇5There are many memorable things, I have had a particularly memorable things, that is my primary school graduation party. 大学毕业典礼英文致辞1Answering speechDear professors and dear friends of China Jiliang University, I’m honored to address you on behalf of all the graduations this year.I would like to thank my parents, classmates, and friends who helped us ,and encouraged and supported us as we worked towards to our graduate degrees.I also want to thank Jiliang’s faculty members who served as our instructors, mentor, and friends, relatives, like Prof.Yu, Prof.Gao, Mrs. Liang. Through their commitments, they have inspired us to achieve and guided us to our dream. On this stage, at my graduation ceremony, when I look back my four years at Jiliang, my mind is filled with memories. May be you will ask me: do you have special to share? Yes, I want to share few simple but critical suggestions with you and with for the coming juniors:First, be work hard and think smart.Secondly, believe things happened for a reason.Thirdly, just as Jobs said at the graduation ceremony in Stanford University, stay hungry, stay foolish.Today, we will graduate from China Jiliang University, but we will be with Jiliang forever. Let us think forward and worktogether to make the new history of China Jiliang University.Thank you.大学毕业典礼英文致辞2Unlike any other creature on this planet, humans can learn and understand, without having experienced. They can think th emselves into other people’s minds, imagine themselves into other people’s places.Of course, this is a power, like my brand of fictional magic, that is morally neutral. One might use such an ability to manipulate, or control, just as much as to understand or sympathise. And many prefer not to exercise their imaginations at all. They choose to remain comfortably within the bounds of their own experience, never troubling to wonder how it would feel to have been born other than they are. They can refuse to hear screams or to peer inside cages; they can close their minds and hearts to any suffering that does not touch them personally; they can refuse to know.I might be tempted to envy people who can live that way, except that I do not think they have any fewer nightmares than I do. Choosing to live in narrow spaces can lead to a form of mental agoraphobia, and that brings its own terrors. I think the wilfully unimaginative see more monsters. They are often more afraid. What is more, those who choose not to empathize may enable real monsters. For without ever committing an act of outright evil ourselves, we collude with it, through our own apathy. One of the many things I learned at the end of that Classics corridor down which I ventured at the age of 18, in search ofsomething I could not then define, was this, written by the Greek author Plutarch: What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality. That is an astonishing statement and yet proven a thousand times every day of our lives. It expresses, in part, our inescapable connection with the outside world, the fact that we touch other people’s lives simply by existing. But how much more are you, Harvard graduates of 2008, likely to touch other people’s lives? Your intelligence, your capacity for hard work, the education you have earned and received, give you unique status, and unique responsibilities. Even your nationality sets you apart. The great majority of you belong to the world’s only remaining superpower. The way you vote, the way you live, the way you protest, the pressure you bring to bear on your government, has an impact way beyond your borders. That is your privilege, and your burden. If you choose to use your status and influence to raise your voice on behalf of those who have no voice; if you choose to identify not only with the powerful, but with the powerless; if you retain the ability to imagine yourself into the lives of those who do not have your advantages, then it will not only be your proud families who celebrate your existence, but thousands and millions of people whose reality you have helped transform for the better. We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.I am nearly finished. I have one last hope for you, which is something that I already had at 21. The friends with whom I sat on graduation day have been my friends for life. They are my children’s godparents, the people to whom I’ve been able toturn in times of trouble, friends who have been kind enough not to sue me when I’ve used their names for Death Eaters. At our graduation we were bound by enormous affection, by our shared experience of a time that could never come again, and, of course, by the knowledge that we held certain photographic evidence that would be exceptionally valuable if any of us ran for Prime Minister. So today, I can wish you nothing better than similar friendships. And tomorrow, I hope that even if you remember not a single word of mine, you remember those of Seneca, another of those old Romans I met when I fled down the Classics corridor, in retreat from career ladders, in search of ancient wisdom:大学毕业典礼英文致辞3You must believe in yourself and in your work. When our first Batman movie broke all those box-office records, I received a phone call from that United Artists exec who, years before, had told me I was out of my mind. Now he said, “Michael, Im just calling to congratulate you on the success of Batman. I always said you were a visionary.” You see the point here —dont believe them when they tell you how bad you are or how terrible your ideas are, but also, dont believe them when they tell you how wonderful you are and how great your ideas are. Its the only way to achieve your goals in life.大学毕业典礼英文致辞4Sheryl Sandberg told a graduating class of Tsinghua University that great leaders want genuine enthusiasm, something she said her late husband, Dave Goldberg, always had.雪莉·桑德伯格鼓励清华大学毕业学子说,伟大的领袖需要“真正的激情”,而这一点她和她已故先生戴夫·哥德伯格(Dave Goldberg)一直怀有。

关于大学毕业典礼英文演讲稿5篇大学毕业典礼英文演讲稿【篇1】Madam President Faust, members of the Harvard Corporation and the Board of Overseers, faculty, family, friends, and, most importantly, todays graduates,Thank you for letting me share this wonderful day with you.I am not sure I can live up to the high standards of Harvard Commencement speakers. Lastyear, J.K. Rowling, the billionaire novelist, who started as a classics student, graced thispodium. The year before, Bill Gates, the mega-billionaire philanthropist and computer nerdstood here. Today, sadly, you have me. I am not wealthy, but at least I am a nerd.I am grateful to receive an honorary degree from Harvard, an honor that means more to methan you might care to imagine. You see, I was the academic black sheep of my family. Myolder brother has an M.D./Ph.D. from MIT and Harvard while my younger brother has a lawdegree from Harvard. When I was awarded a Nobel Prize, I thought my mother would besatisfied. Not so. When I called her on the morning of the announcement, she replied,"Thatsnice, but when are you going to visit me next." Now, as the last brother with a degree fromHarvard, maybe, at last, she will be satisfied.Another difficulty with giving a Harvard commencement address is that some of you maydisapprove of the fact that I have borrowed material from previous speeches. I ask that youforgive me for two reasons.First, in order to have impact, it is important to deliver the same message more than once. Inscience, it is important to be the first person to make a discovery, but it is even more importantto be the last person to make that discovery.Second, authors who borrow from others are following in the footsteps of the best. Ralph WaldoEmerson, who graduated from Harvard at the age of 18, noted "All my best thoughts werestolen by the ancients." Picasso declared "Good artists borrow. Great artists steal." Why shouldcommencement speakers be held to a higher standard?I also want to point out the irony of speaking to graduates of an institution that would haverejected me, had I the chutzpah to apply. I am married to "Dean Jean," the former dean ofadmissions at Stanford. She assures me that she would have rejected me, if given the chance. When I showed her a draft of this speech, she objected strongly to my use of the word"rejected." She never rejected applicants; her letters stated that "we are unable to offer youadmission." I have difficulty understanding the difference. After all, deans of admissions ofhighly selective schools are in reality, "deans of rejection." Clearly, I have a lot to learn aboutmarketing. My address will follow the classical sonata form of commencement addresses. The firstmovement, just presented, were light-hearted remarks. This next movement consists ofunsolicited advice, which is rarely valued, seldom remembered, never followed. As Oscar Wildesaid,"The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself."So, here comes the advice. First, every time you celebrate an achievement, be thankful tothose who made it possible. Thankyour parents and friends who supported you, thank yourprofessors who were inspirational, and especially thank the other professors whoseless-than-brilliant lectures forced you to teach yourself. Going forward, the ability to teach yourself is thehallmark of a great liberal arts education and will be the key to your success. To your fellowstudents who have added immeasurably to your education during those late night discussions, hug them. Also, of course, thank Harvard. Should you forget, theres an alumni association toremind you. Second, in your future life, cultivate a generous spirit. In all negotiations, dontbargain for the last, little advantage. Leave the change on the table. In your collaborations, always remember that "credit" is not a conserved quantity. In a successful collaboration, everybody gets 90 percent of the credit.大学毕业典礼英文演讲稿【篇2】Answering speechDear professors and dear friends of China Jiliang University,I’m honored to address you on behalf of all the graduations this year.I would like to thank my parents, classmates, and friends who helped us ,and encouraged and supported us as we worked towards to our graduate degrees.I also want to thank Jiliang’s faculty members who served as our instructors, mentor, and friends, relatives, like Prof.Yu, Prof.Gao, Mrs. Liang. Heat quickly penetrated the cotton and began to roast my hand. The searing pain made me want to scream, but the chopstick prevented it. All I could do was watch my hand burn - one minute, then two minutes –until mom put out the fire. You see, the part of China I grew up in was a rural village, and at that time pre-industrial. When I was born, my village had no cars, no telephones, no electricity, not even running water. And we certainly didn’t have access to modern medical resources. There was no doctor my mother could bring me to see about my spider bite. For those who study biology, you may have grasped the science behind my mom’s cure: heat deactivates proteins, and a spider’s venom is simply a form of protein. It’s coolhow that folk remedy actually incorporates basic biochemistry, isn’t itBut I am a PhD student in biochemistry at Harvard, I now know that better, less painful and less risky treatments existed. So I can’t help but ask myself, why I didn’t receive oneat the time.Fifteen years have passed since that incident. I am happy to report that my hand is fine. But this question lingers, and I continue to be troubled by the unequal distribution of scientific knowledge throughout the world. We have learned to edit the human genome and unlock many secrets of how cancer progresses. We can manipulate neuronal activity literally with the switch of a light. Each year brings more advances in biomedical research-exciting, transformative accomplishments. Yet, despite the knowledge we have amassed, we haven’t been so successful in deploying it to where it’s needed most. According to the World Bank, twelve percent of the world’s population lives on less than $2 a day. Malnutrition kills more than 3 million children annually. Three hundred million peopleare afflicted by malaria globally. All over the world, we constantly see these problems of poverty, illness, and lack of resources impeding the flow of scientific information. Lifesaving knowledge we take for granted in the modern world is often unavailable in these underdeveloped regions. And infar too many places, people are still essentially trying to cure a spider bite with fire. While studying at Harvard, I saw how scientific knowledge can help others in simple, yet profound ways. The bird flu pandemic in the 2000s looked to my village like a spell cast by demons. Our folk medicine didn’t even have half-measures to offer. What’s more, farmers didn’t know the difference between common cold and flu; they didn’t understand that the flu was much more lethal than the common cold. Most people were also unaware that the virus could transmit across different species. So when I realized that simple hygiene practices like separating different animal species could contain the spread of the disease, and that I could help make this knowledge available to my village, that was my first ―Aha‖moment as a budding scientist. But it was more than that: it was also a vital inflection point in my own ethical development, my ownself-understanding as a member of the global community.Harvard dares us to dream big, to aspire to change the world. Here on this Commencement Day, we are probably thinking of grand destinations and big adventures that await us. As for me, I am also thinking of the farmers in my village. My experiencehere reminds me how important it is for researchersto communicateour knowledge to those who need it. Because by using the sciencewe already have, wecould probably bring my village and thousands like it into the world you and I take for granted every day. And that’s an impact every one of us can make! But the question is, will we make the effort or notMore than ever before, our society emphasizes science and innovation. But an equally important emphasis should be on distributing the knowledge we have to where it’s needed. Changing the world doesn’t mean thateveryone has to find the next big thing. It can be as simple as becoming better communicators, and finding more creative ways to pass on the knowledge we have to people like my mom and the farmers in their local community. Our society also needs to recognize that the equal distribution of knowledge is a pivotal step of human development, and work to bring this into reality. And if we do that, then perhaps a teenager in rural China who is bitten by a spider will not have to burn his hand, but will know to seek a doctor instead.大学毕业典礼英文演讲稿【篇4】Honorable teachers, principles, dear parents and students:Good morning to you all. Go for it Best of Luck,TheGrade11’s大学毕业典礼英文演讲稿【篇5】Unlike any other creature on this planet, humans can learn and understand, without having experienced. They can think themselves into other people’s minds, imagine themselves into other people’s places.Of course, this is a power, like my brand of fictional magic, that is morally neutral. One of the many things I learned at the end of that Classics corridor down which I ventured at the age of 18, in search of something I could not then define, was this, written by the Greek author Plutarch: What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality. That is an astonishing statement and yet proven a thousand times every day of our lives. It expresses, in part, our inescapable connection with the outside world, the fact that we touch other people’s lives simply by existing. But how much more are you, Harvard graduates of 20XX, likely to touch other people’s lives? We do not need magic to change the world, wecarry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.I am nearly finished. I have one last hope for you, which is something that I already had at 21. The friends with whom I sat on graduation day have been my friends for life. They are my children’s godparents, the people to whom I’ve been able to turn in times of trouble, friends who have been kind enough not to sue me when I’ve used their names for Death Eaters. At our graduation we were bound by enormous affection, by our shared experience of a time that could never come again, and, of course, by the knowledge that we held certain photographic evidence that would be exceptionally valuable if any of us ran for Prime Minister. So today, I can wish you nothing better than similar friendships. And tomorrow, I hope that even if you remember not a single word of mine, you remember those of Seneca, another of those old Romans I met when I fled down the Classics corridor, in retreat from career ladders, in search of ancient wisdom:。

The degree awarding has been separatedfromthe Score of Cet-4, enabling more students to successfully complete their university studies. The reason why we do this is not to think that English is not important. The fundamental starting point is to adhere to the people-oriented concept and adhere to the way of education of the university, so that every student can enjoy free and harmonious development. The future of life should not be affected by the SCORE of CET-4.In fact, fromanother level, when we learn English well, we should also pay due attention to our mother tongue, establish the confidence and consciousness of national culture, which is also the obligatory responsibility and responsibility of university education.College graduation ceremony is a vivid embodiment of the spirit and culture of the university, which will remain in our hearts forever after many years. This year, the university has provided a gown for each of you to feel and enjoy the occasion.Due to the large number of graduates, I cannot personally award degrees to each student. Please understand that I will authorize each school to award bachelors degrees to each student.University is the palace of human science and knowledge, is the highland of thought and spirit. The Confucian classic, The Book of Rites, opens with the words: "The way of a university lies in being clear and virtuous, being close to the people, and being perfect.Knowledge leads to stillness, and stillness leads to stillness, and stillness leads to security, and security leads tocontemplation, and contemplation leads to acquisition."Such ideas are still guiding the running practice of modern universities in China."Stop at perfection" undoubtedly represents the highest pursuit of human moral ideal, which is the power of faith. We say that the fundamental mission of a university is to foster morality and cultivate people. What is the basis of virtue? It is ideal, it is faith, it is faith.People are good and evil, people are good and evil, the key lies in the difference between ideals, beliefs and beliefs. An ideal is a vision of what is possible in connection with a goal.Faith is the spiritual will established on the basis of certain knowledge, to believe in a certain idea or ideal and to act on it.Faith is the highest level of ideas, is a certain doctrine, advocates of extreme confidence, trust and respect. In my mind, faith is a sacred word, faith is a power of thought. To be strong, a nation must have firm and upward faith. To prosper, a society must have a firm and upward faith; To live a meaningful and valuable happy life, one needs a great faith to guide and support.Fellow students, faith is the foundation of morality, faith is the source of strength, faith is the rule of behavior, faith is the mark of action, faith is the road to happiness. In this era of pluralism and openness, we still need firm faith. In the course of life in the future, I hope you will let the lighthouse of faith illuminate your way forward, and let the power of faith guide you to live a full life with pursuit, value and significance!Thank you!毕业典礼英文致辞4Dear parents, teachers and dear children:How do you do!First of all, my warmest congratulations to you as you finish your studies and head off into the distance.Just listen to the introduction of 20 classes, just like flipping through old photos, arouse my dusty memories.Remember,20XX, in the military training base, our school team to visit you, is catching up with you in the hot sun to practice standing posture, the instructor told me that this is "I have ever seen the most strong will of the students."I remember that in 20xx, in the final district unified examination, it was you who created the history of winning the second place in Longgang District by equal points of multiple cultural disciplines. You told everyone with your efforts and actions that "everything is possible as long as you work hard."I remember that in 20xx, in the science and culture festival, you created an 8-meter long scroll "Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival", and you performed a large-scale poem reciting "Ode to Chinese Etiquette" in the rain. At that time, a leader who visited our school said to me, "This is the real quality education."Of course, you will not forget the college entrance examination, the red carpet, and teachers high five refueling, so confident, so heroic, so exciting. At that moment, I said to myself "This is our greatest educational achievement, you are __ forever proud."This touching photo will not only be treasured in the archives, but also in the minds of every __ forever.Because, she recorded your colorful youth, witnessed your growth footprint, froze many warm moments. But I also know that life cannot and should not be frozen in photographs.Today, you will leave here, resolutely to the distance of lifes dreams.Facing the distance, I believe you must be full of longing, lofty feelings. But, dear students, have not thought, you why togo far? Please do not forget, only reading can reach far.As much as you have read, dear children, as your president, I want to tell you that I would much rather see you stop studying for tests, stop studying for what you need.Reading is a lifetime thing, reading will give you wisdom and spirit, give you the direction and method of the distance;Remember, there is still peace so far away.Impetuosity will not take you far away, do not for immediate fame and wealth and exhaust your passion for life, do not shake the direction of your life for the cold and hot professional.Students, if you want to sendfar away, dont go too far in the direction of small wisdom, think more about big wisdom, big pattern;Dont go too far in the direction of complaining, think about how to build, how to grow;Dont go too far in the direction of hatred, think more about tolerance and gratitude;Dont go too far in the direction of utilitarianism and tackiness. Think about the dedication and dedication of your parents and teachers.Dont go too far in the direction of self-righteousness, think more about the dream at the beginning.Boys, always remember why you set out."We have gone so far that we have forgotten why we started," said The Lebanese poet Gibran. We should not pursue education for the sake of education, so that we forget the social responsibility of higher education; We should not succeed for the sake of success, so that we forget the mission and responsibility behind success; We should not be individualistic for individualistic sake, so that we forget the essence of human nature and the direction of progress. As president, as teachers, everyone here is eager to see you go faster and climb higher in your life. But I want to tell you right now that you dont have to go too fast on your way to a distantplace. The Indians told us not to run too fast, but to let our souls follow;Do not too deliberately pursue must go far, "know" can be far.Class, please take an old photo for a trip. When confused, the old photos of "seeking truth, kindness and beauty" may help you point the way.In times of despair, that old picture of you as a miracle may give you strength to move forward. When you succeed, old pictures of "progressive happiness" may add even more joy and happiness.毕业典礼英文致辞5Members of the Parent Council, Parents, teachers and students:Everybody is good!Today is the graduation ceremony day of our school, this years graduates, thanks to all the superiors and distinguished guests, in their busy schedule to come to guide, and give a lot of precious prizes to encourage students, on behalf of the teachers and students to the highest respect and gratitude.Dear graduates, graduation is only theendof one stage of learning, but also the beginning of another. After three years of hard study in Sacred Heart, the students finally finished their study with perseverance, patience and perseverance. All the officers, distinguished guests, parents and teachers present here are happy and congratulating you.In the past three years, every teacher of Sacred Heart has not only taught you knowledge, but also guided many people and things. As you are leaving school today, the headmaster would like to remind and encourage you.I think in todays society, there are a lot of people at the time of frustration, or work not smooth, will think of going to fortune tellers, we are not against fortunetellers, but more importantly, each one should carry his own life, go your own way and the master of himself is the fate, want to change your fate, create a new bureau, only by knowing yourself, settled themselves, their own have a real possibility,So how do you create yourself? 大学毕业感言英语版

Ladies and Gentlemen, esteemed faculty, proud parents, beloved friends, and fellow graduates,Today marks a significant milestone in our lives. We stand here, notjust as individuals, but as a collective group of dreamers, learners, and leaders who have embarked on this incredible journey of higher education. As we gather in this grand hall, filled with the echoes of our laughter and the weight of our aspirations, I want to take a moment to reflect on the past four years and express my gratitude to those who have supported us along the way.First and foremost, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the faculty members who have guided us through this academic odyssey. Your dedication, knowledge, and passion have been the cornerstones of our education. You have not only imparted us with the knowledge we need to succeed in our careers but also with the values that will shape our character. Your commitment to excellence has inspired us to strive for greatness, and for that, we are truly grateful. To my parents, who have been my pillars of strength throughout these years, I cannot thank you enough. Your unwavering love, support, and sacrifices have been the driving force behind my success. You have been there to cheer me on, to console me when I was down, and to remind me of my dreams. Your belief in me has given me the courage to face the challenges ahead. I will always cherish the lessons you have taught me, both in and out of the classroom. My fellow graduates, we have traveled this path together, sharing our joys and sorrows, our triumphs and defeats. These experiences have forged bonds that will last a lifetime. I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of this journey. You have pushed me to be better, to challenge myself, and to grow. Our friendships have been the most precious gifts of our college years, and I am grateful for every moment spent with you.As we reflect on our time at university, it is important to acknowledge the growth we have experienced. College has been more than just a place to earn a degree; it has been a transformative experience. We havelearned to think critically, to analyze complex issues, and to communicate effectively. We have discovered our passions, our strengths, and our weaknesses. We have learned to adapt, to persevere, and to embrace change. We have also learned the value of diversity. Our college years have been a microcosm of the world we live in, with people from different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. We have learned to respect and appreciate our differences, and to understand that our collective strength lies in our diversity. This lesson will serve us well as we move forward into our careers and into the world. As we stand on the brink of this new chapter, it is natural to feel a mix of excitement and apprehension. The world outside the university gates is vast and unpredictable, but it is also full of opportunities. We have been equipped with the tools we need to navigate this new landscape. We have the knowledge, the skills, and the confidence to make a difference. However, with these tools comes great responsibility. We must use our education not only to improve our own lives but also to contribute to the betterment of society. We must be leaders who are not only concerned with our own success but with the success of those around us. We must be compassionate, empathetic, and just. We must strive to create a more equitable and sustainable world. In closing, I want to leave you with a few words of advice. First, never stop learning. The world is constantly changing, and we must be adaptable and open to new ideas. Second, be true to yourself. Stay true to your values and your dreams, even when it is difficult. Third, never underestimate the power of kindness. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of others. As we move forward, let us carry with us the knowledge, the friendships, and the memories of our time at university. Let us be the change we wish to see in the world. Let us make our mark, not just on our own lives, but on the lives of those around us.Congratulations, Class of [Year]. The future is ours to shape. Let us embrace it with courage, determination, and love.Thank you.。

大学毕业典礼致辞英语大学毕业典礼致辞英语(美国大学)Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you. And does it get any better than this, a graduation ceremony for one of the great universities in the world in the home of New York Yankees? Nothing could be better. (Applause.) And thanks to all of you for cheering a visitor. I didn’t realize that was permitted in Yankee Stadium.

I am honored to receive this degree. And on behalf of the other honorees, I say thank you. Thank you for giving us this singular privilege of being part of this commencement ceremony. As I look out at this huge crowd of graduates, family, and friends, I can only reflect on what an extraordinary moment in history you are receiving your degrees, a moment in time of our country and the world where your talents and your energy, your passion and commitment is more needed than ever. Thereis no doubt that you are well prepared for a world that seems somewhat uncertain but which will welcome the education that you have received on behalf of not only of yourselves and your families, but your communities and your country.

As Secretary of State, I am well aware of the challenges that we face. You, as new graduates, and your generation will be up against those challenges: climate change and hunger, extreme poverty and extreme ideologies, new diseases and nuclear proliferation. But I am absolutely convinced that you and we are up to the task. There is no problem we face here in America or around the world that will not yield to human effort,to cooperation, to positive interdependence that makes clear humanity is going on, our challenges are ones that summon the best of us, and we will make the world better tomorrow than it is today. (Applause.)

(掌声)Now, I know that it is fashionable in commencement speeches to be idealistic, and that may sound so, but at the root of my conviction is a strong sense of reality. Because you see, I don’t think we have a choice. We can sit on the sidelines, we can wring our hands, we can retreat into cynicism, and we know what the results will be: We will cede the field to those whose ideologies are absolutely anathema to people of conscience and faith all over the world. So our positive interdependence, which is a fact, will prepare us tomeet these challenges. But they can no longer be seen just as government-to-government. There is a time and an opportunity, and with the new technologies available, for us to be citizen diplomats, citizen activists, to solve problems one by one that will give in to hard work, patience, and persistence, and will then aggregate to the solutions we seek.

Now, I know we cannot send a special envoy to negotiate with a pandemic, or call a summit with carbon dioxide, or sever relations with the global financial crisis. To confront these threats and to seize theopportunities that they also present, we need to build new partnerships from the bottom up, and to use every tool at our disposal. That is the heart of smart power. But smart power requires smart people, people who have gone the distance for their education, who have opened themselves up to this increasingly complex and interconnected world, and this changing global landscape requires us to expand our concept of diplomacy.

Now, when I was graduating so many years ago, diplomacy was the domain of privileged men working behind closed doors. Today, our diplomats are not limited, and our diplomacy is no longer confined to the State Department or our embassies. We are laying the foundation for 21st century statecraft. Where? In theclassrooms of NYU, in the board rooms of the businesses of this great city, in the halls of academia, in the operating rooms of our great hospitals. We are looking for those personal commitments and connections, and that is where all of you come in.回顾我多年前从学校毕业的时候,外交是闭门谋事的高官要员的事情。
