Part one
Para I tells us that you make up your mind about people through unspoken communication within the first seven seconds of meeting them. It’s during the first seven seconds that you show your true feelings and thus causing a chain of reactions. Para 2 gives us some examples to illustrate the point.
Part two
This part includes 4 pieces of advice given by the writer. 1 Your are the message. 2 Be yourself. 3 Use your eyes. 4 Lighten up
1 Your are the message (para 3, 4,5 ) para 3 his own experience. It is the secret. Para 4 what your message is. (physical appearance, energy, gesture……) Para 5 a conclusion
focus (on)
v. Concentrate on 集中 我努力集中精力学习。 I tried to focus my mind on my study. n. 中心;焦距 • She was the focus of everyone's attention.
absorb v. 吸收;理解;掌握 absorbed a.被…吸引住;专心致志;全神贯注 • She seemed totally absorbed in her book. • • 她好像完全被这本书迷住了.
Part one para1;2 This part tells us what time you make the most important impression on others or others leave the most important impression on you. Part two para3-15 This part answers the question of how to make a good impression. (listing, offer some pieces of advice)
2 Be yourself (para 6-9) Para 6 argues against one piece of advice by some how-to books. Para 7 deals with the writer’s own advice. Para 8 gives an example of how some speakers do not have good communication skills. Para 9 is the conclusion for this advice.

3 Use your eyes (para 10,11 )
In this part the writer advises to keep eye contact with your audience, and gives an example.
4 lighten up (para 12-15) Para 12 & Para 13 give an example of how an angry chairman roared with laughter because of a piece of humor. Para 14 puts forwards the writer’s advice. Para 15 tells us in what kind of circumstances you should lighten up.
