论文标题与摘要翻译

一、语篇类型、功能与翻译目的

从语篇类型上看，论文标题与摘要均属“信息类”语篇。

论文标题与摘要翻译的预期功能是帮助译语读者在对文章产生真实可信感的基础上，了解文章的主题，使读者通过简短扼要的文字清楚了解文章的全貌和主要内容。

二、汉英论文标题与摘要的差异及翻译原则

汉英论文标题和摘要在功能方面有相同之处，在行文组篇方式上也逐渐在有些方面趋于一致。

但是，汉英论文标题和摘要还是存在着诸多差异：

由于语用传统不同，在表达方式上；

在句法上；

在时态上；

三、翻译要点

（一）语用删减

例如，“试论高校学生的政治思想工作问题”的标题译为

在摘要翻译方面，语用删减包括从摘要中删去从英文角度来看缺乏信息性、冗赘多余的词句。

如以下这则摘要：

本文中，作者通过长期训练和比赛实践经验，总结研究江西女篮的防守战术。文章证明了人盯人轮转换位紧逼防守是一种行之有效的积极防守战术。

Abstract：Based on many years’ experience of training and competing, a summary of defense tactics of Jiangxi Women’s Basketball Team is presented．It is proved that change-position tactics in person-to-person pressure defense is an active and effective tactics·汉语原文摘要中的一些词，如“本文中”、“作者”、“实践”、“总结研究”中的“研究”、“文章”等在英语语境中都属多余，英语译文删去了这些词，关键词语的翻译则全部处理为名词或名词短语。

（二）重组表层结构

为了能让国外读者通过熟悉、规范的英译标题和摘要文字窥见文章的要旨，使内容表达得更加清晰，有时译者需做较大的表层结构重组，使译文符合英文标题和摘要的习见语篇模式，增加可接受度。如：

坚持以就业为导向调整高等教育结构

摘要：在网球运动教学和训练比赛中，由于技术结构的特点，常发生练习者肘部损伤。本文着重阐明“网球肘”损伤发生的机理，从专业技术上找出发生这种损伤的原因并提出预防的措施和对策。

Abstract：The elbow joint injury，which is also known as“tennis elbow”，usually happens in PE classes or competitions as the result of the special technical features of the tennis sport．Based on the mechanism of the elbow joint injury，the causes of the injury are described by means of technical analysis，and the ways to prevent and cure tennis elbow are suggested．

以下几种结构在英文标题中十分常见，翻译时应尽量采用，必要时对原文进行重组。

·使用名词短语，标题太长时可以用破折号隔开，如：

“税费改革”与规范政府财政行为

产业集群与竞争优势之间关系的因果解释及其政策意义

统计表格的生成算法

普通民众消费的增加应是消费政策的核心

转换企业经营机制必须改革干部人事制度

法是“理”与“力”的结合

·使用动名词短语，如：

（三）力求简洁

在标题和摘要文字的处理上，要充分考虑语篇特点和英文行文习惯，注意表达的简洁性，以符合读者对此类语篇类型的预期。如：

1) 社区网络资源和未成年人对互联网知识的获取与疏导

2) 摘要：科学、有效、规范的管理是做好电视安全播出和提高管理水平的基础和保证，因此，开发一套播出综合管理系统是十分必要的。文章阐述了播出综合管理系统的主要特点、功能以及采用的相关技术。

Abstract：A scientific，effective and standardized management is the basic requirement and guarantee of successful TV broadcasting as well as improvement of management．So it is necessary to develop a comprehensive broadcasting management system．This paper describes the main features and functions of such a system and technology involved．

3) 摘要：计算机辅助教学中要用到多媒体课件。多媒体课件的质量在很大程度上决定了辅助教学的质量。本文从软件设计和软件制作两方面来研究多媒体课件的制作。

Abstract：Multimedia courseware is used in computer aided teaching，the effect of which relies largely on the quality of the courseware. The development of multimedia courseware is discussed from the aspects of software design and development．

4) 摘要：笔者从时代向高校提出的党的建设的新要求出发，系统论述了当前高校党的思想、组织和作风建设三个方面的基本内容和高校党的领导班子建设以及加强高校党建工作的重要意义，探讨在当前国内外新形势下我国高校中党的建设的新思路。

Abstract：Based on new requirements of the times for Party building at institutions of higher education，the paper gives a systematic analysis of the basic contents of current Party building in ideology，organization and work style，together with a discussion on the importance of strengthening the building of the Party and the leading group at institutions of higher education as well as new ways of achieving this under the present situations both at home and abroad．

在摘要翻译方面，简洁性还常常表现为用合适的单词代替短语，用合适的短语代替句子。

5）摘要：该故障诊断系统具有开发耗用低、易于维护、可在线诊断等特点，并能有效地克服单个神经网络因结构复杂而产生的学习速度慢、难以收敛等缺点。

This fault diagnosis system features low developing cost，easy maintenance and on—line fault diagnosis．It can overcome the shortcomings of slow learning and difficult convergence of single neural network with complicated structure.

（四）释义

论文标题和摘要的翻译除了要力求译文文字的简洁，遵从译语语言表达习惯，还要保证意义与内容的通达。对一些完全是中国特色的表达法，必要时需根据文章内容做释义处理，不能为了片面追求简洁而造成意义隐晦。
