书中说过“‘刺猬女孩’到底还是浑身带刺，是不会变成天使的”。

《山丘上的约会》这个故事中最奇妙的部分，在于两们“笔友”彼此间从未见过面，单单只靠书信文字所产生的美好想象来塑造彼此的形象，而且在无形中不断地增强彼此的美好印象。
相信很多人都有这
样的经验：只听到某人或某篇文章的形容，就对没见过的人、事、物产生好奇，进而想象，总是越想越美好。
《山丘上的约会》故事最精彩的部分在于两个素未谋面的人终于决定要见面了，让人紧张心跳的也正是这一刻，两人都从对方最高的期望出发，结局如何呢？作者采用了卡通化的造型，夸张地强化了故事中两个主角的差异，不论在身高或体态上都不同。
很戏剧化的是，正当玲玲抬头猛往高处寻找将会从天而降的偶像时，男主角瓜瓜也正奋力地跳上山丘去赴约呢！作者运用书本竖立时的直式版面，营造出男女主角见面时的“震憾”画面，令人拍案叫绝！故事中的主角虽然都是田墅里常见的动物，但两者的外形、习性截然不同，所以见面的过程充满了曲折、趣味。
孩子在阅读时因为是旁观者，一定会觉得他们好笑，从而在轻松的气氛中理解故事的发展进程。
哇！会面的结果真是令人有些失望，书信中的印象明明不是这样的埃当满怀期盼，终于可以一睹真面目时，才发现事实和想象差了一大截。
这是一个有趣又常会发生的事情。
其实呢，“人生不如意事十常八九”，生活中经常会有许多的遗憾和委屈。
正因为如此我们常常很努力地去避免这样的事情发生，让一切都如意顺心。
结果期望越高往往失望越大，以至迷失了对事物本质的认识，我们就越来越不快乐了。
试问朋友的真正意义是什么？不就是无邪的友谊分享吗，至于表面的东西也就不值得计较了。
因为人生很少能够真正地心想事成，所以我们会寄望于故事最后的美好结局，至少希望它是正面的、光明的。
笔者很欣赏本书的结局。
当玲玲和瓜瓜确信彼此的真正友谊存在时，决定继续山丘上的约会，再为彼此美好的友谊努力下去。
真好，友谊可以不用猜疑和负担，只要彼此接纳和分享，或许这正是现代人该好好想想的课题。
