定义:在句子中起时间状语作用的句 子称为时间状语从句,可放在句首或
者句尾。
时间状语从句
引导时间状语从句的普通类从属连词有 when(当……时), while(在……期间), as(当……,一边……一边……), before(在……之前), after(在……之后), since(从……以来), till/until(直到), not...until (直到...才) whenever(无论何时), as soon as(一……就)等。
You can’t do your homework while you’re watching TV.

• (二)、while只能表示某一段时间,不能 表示某一点时间.在while引导的时间状语 从句中,其谓语动词只能是延续性的,而且 也只能与主句中的谓语动词同时发生或 存在.
• 例如:1、While Jim was mending his bike,Lin Tao came to see him.正当吉姆 修自行车时,林涛来看他.

while 引导的从句:表示“当……过程中”,强 调某一段时间内主句和从句中谓语动词所表示的 动作在同一时期发生。由于while从句表示一个 持续的行为,所以从句中要用持续性动词,并且 持续性动词常用进行时态。 • 例: • Keep an eye on my little sister while I am away. • (我不在时,请照看一下我的小妹妹。) • While we were watching TV, Jim came in. • Strike while the iron is hot. 趁热打铁。

状语从句即从属连词引导的从句在句子中作 状语,修饰谓语动词,用来表示时间、地点、 条件、原因、结果、目的、让步、方式、比 较等。状语从句可以置于句尾或句首,置于 句首时常用逗号与主句隔开。
