1.In what sense do you think we can regard the world we live in as one world?
Firstly, contact between cultures promotes understanding among the peoples of the world.
Then, with the rapid development of transportation means and information technology the world is getting smaller and smaller.
Last but not least, we, people of the world, are one of the world, are one big family, for together we exist, and together we try to make the world better for all.
2.Do you think people all over the world are largely similar? Why or why not?
No.
Firstly, human beings are essentially the same everywhere.
Then, all human beings have the need to eat, to have shelter, and to work, they also need to love others and be loved.
The most important is that we have the same ancestor.
3.Are you interested in the traditions of other peoples in the world? Describe some of
them.
Yes, I am.
For example, The British in daily life often talk about the topic of the weather, and is often the first topic.
The Americans alone eat their own copy of the food while Chinese like put the food on the table, shared together.
4.What are the traditions of birthday celebration in some English-speaking countries such
as Britain and the U.S? How do they differ from the Chinese ones?
In west countries such as Britain and the US, cakes, lights and candles are often associated with the celebration of a person’s birthday while in china special noodles are served in honor of the birthday person., the noodles are extra long to symbolize a long life.
5.Do you consider your birthday one of the most important days in your life? Why or why
not?
Yes, because each birthday means that I’m a year old.
And the birthday is the mother’s Good Friday. We should give our sincere gratitude to our mothers.
The most important is that we can have a good time with our family.
6.Which birthday do you think is more important, your eighteenth, twentieth, or
twenty-first? Why?
I think the more important birthday is the eighteenth birthday, because, from then on we can have the right to vote.
In the meanwhile, we are also regarded as adults.
7.Which of the birthday celebrations you’ve had is the most memorable to you? Can you
describe it?
The most memorable birthday celebration is the eighteenth birthday. First, the birthday means that I am an adult. What’s more, I received a lot of gifts.
Last but not least, I spend the birthday with my family and we have a good time.
