The number of full-time teachers went down dramatically from 5million in 1960 to the lowest point at/of 3million in 1961, after which the trend showed an enormous increase in it to about 6million in 1963. On the other hand, the years to 1965 saw a slight decrease in the quantity of these instructors to nearly 5million. From then on, China witnessed a gradual growth to 8million in 1975, which was followed by a leveling out in the next 10 years until 1985. Finally, a moderate rise can be found in the number of these full-time teachers to the peak at 10million in 1990.
