Isambard Kingdom Brunel

I've been accepted into a foreign university! This is a dream come true for me. I've always wanted to study abroad and experience a different culture. Now that I have this opportunity, I am both excited and nervous about what lies ahead. The first thing that comes to mind is the language barrier. English is not my first language, so I know that I will face some challenges in communicating with others. I believe that being in an immersive environment will help me become more fluent in the language.Another aspect that I am looking forward to is meeting new people. I want to immerse myself in the local culture, try new foods, visit historical landmarks, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the city. I want to make the mostout of my time abroad and create unforgettable memories.Overall, being accepted into a foreign university is a life-changing opportunity. I am excited to embrace the challenges and make the most out of this experience. It will be a journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and academic development.

A Day in My LifeThe sound of my alarm clock beeping wakes me up at 6:30 every morning. I rub my eyes and yawn. Another day of school! I hop out of bed and get dressed. My favorite outfit is my dinosaur t-shirt and blue shorts.Brushing my teeth reminds me of the dentist telling me how important it is to keep my teeth clean and healthy. I head to the kitchen where my mom is making breakfast. The smell of scrambled eggs and toast makes my tummy rumble."Good morning sweetie, did you sleep well?" Mom asks as she puts a plate of food in front of me."Yes, I had crazy dreams about being chased by a T-Rex!" I say with a giggle. We chat about my dreams while I eat my breakfast. At 7:15, I put on my backpack and we head out the door to walk to school. My friends Jacob and Emily live on the same street, so we always walk together. We talk about our favorite video games and comic books on the way.The bell rings at 8:00 and we line up by the door to go inside for our first class, math. Math is okay, but it's not my favorite subject. We learn about addition, subtraction, counting money, and shapes. Sometimes it makes my brain hurt! After math, we have reading time. I love reading adventures about explorers, pirates, and dinosaurs. We take turns reading out loud from a book. My reading skills are improving and I can sound out longer words now.Recess is my favorite time of the day! We get to go outside and run around on the playground. I chase my friends, play tag, and we take turns on the swings and slides. Getting some fresh air helps me re-energize for the rest of the day.Science class is really fun. We get to do experiments and learn about the world around us. Last week, we made little volcanoes out of playdough and baking soda that erupted when we poured vinegar inside. So cool!Lunchtime is next. I like opening up my lunchbox to see what snacks and sandwich my mom packed for me. We all eat together in the cafeteria, talking and laughing with our friends. In the afternoon, we have art class where we get to draw, paint, sculpt with clay, and get creative. I love sharing my artworkwith my parents when I get home. We learn new techniques and work on projects over several days.My last class of the day is music. We sing fun songs, learn about notes and rhythms, and sometimes get to play simple instruments like triangles and tambourines. Music always puts me in a happy mood.At 3:00, the final bell rings and school is over for the day! My dad picks me up and asks about my day on the drive home. Once I'm home, I have a snack, play outside, and work on my homework for an hour or so. Spelling and math are my main homework assignments. After homework, I have some free time to play imaginary games, build with Legos, color, or read before dinner. For dinner, we often have dishes like tacos, pasta, or stir-fry. I like trying to use chopsticks! My mom gives me a bath before bedtime, which I don't love, but I know I need to be clean. We read stories together and I get tucked into bed by 8:00. As I drift off to sleep, I think about the fun day I had at school and wonder what awesome adventures and learnings tomorrow will bring!

MyLifeinUniversity英语作文及中文翻译My Life in University 英语作文及中文翻译As we know, many people favor the idea that the college life is free and comfortable, but I’d like to say it’s not true. As a matter of fact, my life in university is so busy that I wonder if my energy is enough. As to my college life, I divide it into four parts, including study, student activities, library and the others.

Firstly, I want to talk about the study. In my opinion, study is the priority in college. When I received the letter of admission in summer, I knew clearly that what I should do. So I make up my mind to study hard and pursue learning as much as possible. I’m greatly convinced that knowledge can change my life. Therefore, I often go to the quiet study room where many people study there. By working so hard, I get good grades in the exams.

Unit 3 Leisure ActivitiesPassage A Clubs and SocietiesParties, drinking, eating - oh, and working - all help pass the time, but deep down there's something you're really eager to find, but you can't quite put your finger on. What you have been looking for, my friend, is the chance to throw yourself into the world of University Societies, and discover the huge range of activities which thrive in a city like Oxford.Whether you want to pursue an existing interest or develop new ones, your first move should be to check out the bewilderingly large array of clubs at the OUSU Freshers' Fair. With your Freshers' Fair ticket, you can get your hands on a brand-new edition of the comprehensive guide to all things at Oxford. If you miss the Fair, don't despair: you can see what societies are offered in the Oxford Directory, a handbook issued to you in Freshers' Week. Take a while to browse through --- it's your one major chance to find out about what goes on in the University. The degree to which people get involved in societies varies a great deal. Some totally immerse themselves in a club, hardly speaking to anyone who isn't a member of that group for the next three years and rising to become a leader of the organization. Others prefer to take a more eclectic approach, being members of several societies and taking part in whichever of their events seem interesting. Many people, perhaps foolishly, completely ignore University societies and just hang out with mates in college.Societies offer a great chance to meet people from outside college, which, especially for arts students, is something it is sometimes difficult to do. But don't forget that most colleges2 have their own flourishing societies, which you may be able to join in your college during Freshers' Week. Music and drama are often popular and it is very easy to get some mates together and start something up. If you have ambitions to open up your new Shakespearian Rap Society3 to the whole University, you can register it with the University Proctors, who give out start-up grants and loans, among other benefits. One of the downsides, especially with larger societies, is the hacking which takes place. 'Hack' is the negative term applied to those seeking advancement (usually to President) in whatever Club or Society, and some clubs such as the Oxford Union or the Guild Society tend to attract those with the spark of ambition more than others. When students suddenly remember their blank CVs5 which are supposed to secure them a highly paid job once they graduate, hackery is almost inevitable. Do not be afraid, though: the vast majority of students tend to avoid such self-seeking behaviour and get on with life. With over 300 registered societies there really is something for everyone. Apart from the obvious political parties and sports clubs there are groups for all the main religions; societies interested in the society and culture of countries from China to Bulgaria, and UK regions from Scotland to Essex; charities for those interested in voluntary work, literature, music, drama and sci-fi; and a fair number of strange groups such as the LMH Pudding Society, the Oxford Stunt Factory and the Pooh Sticks Society. You won't get bored.A篇俱乐部和社团聚会、饮酒、用饭--哦,还有工作--都让光阴流逝,但你内心深处确有一些很想查找的东西,却无法实现。

The Joy of University AcceptanceUpon waking up one sunny morning, the sunbeams streaming through my window seemed to carry a special warmth, as if they were celebrating a momentous occasion. Little did I know that this ordinary day would mark a significant milestone in my life. As I scrolled through my social media feed, a notification popped up, announcing the arrival of an email from my dream university. My heart skipped a beat as I clicked on the link, expecting the worst but hoping for the best. The words on the screen blurred as my eyes welled up with tears of joy. I had been accepted into the university I had always dreamed of attending. The sense of accomplishment and relief was overwhelming. I had worked hard, sacrificed countless hours, and now, all my efforts had paid off.The admission letter was not just a piece of paper; it was a testament to my perseverance and dedication. It represented the beginning of a new chapter in my life, one filled with opportunities and challenges that would help me grow and learn. I couldn't wait to embark on this newjourney, to meet new people, explore new ideas, and pursue my passions. My family was ecstatic. My parents' proud smiles and my siblings' excited chatter filled the house with joy. We celebrated this momentous occasion with a special dinner, where we shared stories of my academic journey and looked forward to the future with hope and anticipation. As I lay in bed that night, my mind was abuzz with thoughts of what the future held. Would I make new friends? Would I excel in my studies? Would I find my place in this vast and exciting world of higher education? One thing was certain, however: I was ready to take on the challengesthat awaited me and make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The next day, I woke up with a renewed sense of purpose and determination. I knew that being accepted into my dream university was just the beginning. The real work wouldstart now, as I prepared myself for the rigors of college life. I was ready to embrace the opportunities, face the challenges, and make the most of this incredible adventure. As I looked ahead, I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. College was a new world waiting to be explored, and I was eager to dive in. I knew that this journey would be filled with both successes and failures, but I was ready to face them all with courage and determination. In conclusion, being accepted into my dream university was a moment that I will cherish forever. It was a testament to my hard work and dedication, and a promising start to a new chapter in my life. As I look ahead to the future, I am filled with hope and excitement, knowing that the best is yet to come.**被录取大学的喜悦**在一个阳光明媚的早晨醒来,透过窗户洒进来的阳光似乎带着一种特别的温暖,仿佛它们正在庆祝一个重要的时刻。

It was a sunny afternoon when the letter arrived. The envelope, stamped with the official seal of the university, sat on the kitchen table, its weighty presence a silent testament to the momentous news it contained. My heart pounded as I tore open the envelope, my hands shaking slightly with excitement and anticipation. The letter was short and sweet, but the words it contained were life-changing. "Congratulations, you have been accepted into our esteemed university."I looked up, my eyes meeting my mother's across the room. She smiled, her face brimming with pride and joy. I knew she had been hoping for this moment, praying for it in secret, ever since we had visited the university campus together, months ago. She had pointed out the宏伟的建筑, the lush green quadrangle, and the bustling library, painting a picture of what she saw as my future. And now, here I was, holding the proof in my hands."Mom, I've been accepted to the university you chosefor me," I said, my voice trembling with emotion. She came over and hugged me tightly, her tears mixing with my own."I knew you could do it," she whispered in my ear. "I always had faith in you."But getting to this point hadn't been easy. High school had been a challenging journey, with exams and tests that seemed to never end. My mother had been my constant supporter,鼓励我when I felt discouraged, and guiding me through the tough times. She had been the one to suggest applying to this particular university, seeing in its reputation and resources a pathway to a better future for me.At first, I had been resistant. The university was located in a different city, far away from our home. I worried about适应新环境, making new friends, and most importantly, living up to the expectations my mother had placed on me. But she had been patient, explaining thatthis was a necessary step in my成长, and that I wouldlearn and grow more from this experience than I could imagine. So, I had applied, and now here I was, with the letter in my hands, a confirmed student of the university. It wasnot just an acceptance letter; it was a testament to my mother's belief in me, and a promise of a brighter future. Looking back, I realized that this was not just a victory for me, but for my mother as well. She had sacrificed so much for me, putting her own dreams and aspirations on the backburner to ensure that I had a better life. And now, with this letter in hand, I knew that her sacrifices had not been in vain."Thank you, Mom," I said, hugging her tightly. "I won't let you down. I'll work hard and make you proud."She smiled and patted my head, her eyes full of love and pride. "I know you will," she said. "You've always been my pride and joy."And so, with the sun shining brightly outside, I sat there, holding the letter that would change my life, and felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over me. I knew that whatever the future held, I had a mother who believed in me, and a university that saw potential in me. And with that, I knew that I could face any challenge with confidence and courage.**妈妈,我被你选的大学录取了**那是一个阳光明媚的下午,信件抵达了。

A Day in My LifeMy name is Emily and I am 8 years old. I wake up at 6:30 every morning because I have to get ready for school. First, I get out of bed and put on my slippers. Then I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. After that, I go back to my room and pick out the clothes I want to wear for the day. I like to wear dresses with colorful flowers or my jeans with a nice shirt. Once I am dressed, I brush my hair and put it in a ponytail. At 7:15, I go to the kitchen for breakfast. My mom always makes me oatmeal with berries or scrambled eggs and toast. While I eat, I watch some cartoons on TV. My favorite shows are Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol! When I'm done eating at 7:45, I put my dishes in the sink and go brush my teeth again. Then I put on my backpack and get my lunchbox from the fridge. My mom packs me a sandwich, an apple, carrots, and a cookie for my lunch. At 8:00, my dad drives me to school. He drops me off at the front gates and I walk to my classroom. School starts at 8:30. My teacher is Mrs. Jones and she is really nice. We start the day bysaying the Pledge of Allegiance and then we go over the schedule for the day written on the board. In the morning we have reading, writing, and math class. We learn so many new things! During reading, we practice sounding out words. In writing, we learn how to make complete sentences. My favorite is math because we get to add, subtract, and solve word problems. At 11:30 it's time for lunch and recess. I eat my lunch in the cafeteria with my friends Sarah and Lily. We talk about our favorite games and TV shows. After we eat, we go outside to play on the playground. I love going down the slide and swinging super high on the swings! When the bell rings at 12:30, we line up and head back to class. In the afternoon, we have science, social studies, art, and music class. In science, we just started a unit on the life cycle of plants. Social studies is where we learn about maps, presidents, and holidays. Art is my absolute favorite because I love drawing, painting, and making crafts. We also have music class once a week where we sing songs and learn about notes and rhythms. At 3:00, it's time to go home! My dad picks me up and asks me about my day on our drive home. When we get home, I have a snack like apple slices or graham crackers. Then I go playoutside for a little while before coming in to start my homework around 4:30.I have math and spelling worksheets to complete for homework most nights. If I get stuck, my mom helps me. We eat dinner around 6:00 - usually something like chicken, rice, and vegetables. After dinner, I take a bath and get my pajamas on.For the rest of the night, I can color, play with my dolls or legos, or watch a movie with my parents. At 8:30 it's time to brush my teeth and go to bed. My mom reads me a bedtime story and then I snuggle up with my stuffed animals and fall asleep.School days are lots of fun but also very busy! I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my friends, and coming home to my family at the end of the day. I'm already excited for tomorrow's adventures!。
