How are you doing today? I’m so excited because we can go out this afternoon. It will take about 1hour to get our destination, so we still have some time to chat. Today, we’re going to visit Changsha Planning Exhibition Hall. They will provide a guide with us, but she can only speak Chinese. So I think it’s a great opportunity for Mandy to learn Chinese. But you should listen carefully, because at the end of visiting, you should finish a task, that is , it’s your turn to be a tour guide, to introduce Changsha for Mandy in English. Now, I divide you into 4 groups, 4 guys a group. I’ll give a topic for every group; your topic will be decided by drawing lots.

What? Why. Changsha Planning Exhibition Hall

What---- it exhibits the history, current situation and future planning of Changsha. Through the advanced sound and light technology, It shows the breathtaking view, profound culture and modern city development of Changsha. Exhibition is located in Xinhe delta, where the xiang river and liuyang river meet. Except planning exhibition hall, there are another three buildings in xinhe delta, which are called “ three centers and one hall “ 。Changsha library, Changsha Museum, Changsha Concert Hall. Some of you may think it’s boring to visit museum or exhibition. But I can tell you , this exhibition is not what you think, it has lots of interactive entertainment equipment, such as Cinema 3D, VR road trip and so on.

I think you’ll like it and it can help you have more deep understanding about our hometown. As a citizen of Changsha, most us were born in Changsha, growing up in Changsha, it’s our duty to know our history and future, and join together to build our hometown. When I was a high school student, I wanted to study in another city, I didn’t want to stay in Changsha because I’d like to meet new people, experience new things, I wanted novelty. So after college entrance examination, I chose a University in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, which located in the southeast of China, near Taiwan. I have studied for 7 years in Fuzhou and I just graduated and got my master degree last month. I have lots of close friends there and they suggested me settle down in Fuzhou. But I wanted go home, go back Changsha, my family is here and I’m the only daughter of my parents, they need me. When I was a college student, every year I came back Changsha two times, winter vacation and Summer vacation. Changsha has developed quickly in past

ten years, including transportation, public facilities, the humanity quality, education, medical treatment，environment. I’m proud of my hometown, and these achievements cannot be accomplished without Changsha people. I think it’s my responsible; it’s our responsible to make a better Changsha. Well, this exhibition will show us history , current achievements and future planning about Changsha, in order to let us have deep understanding about our hometown and love it more.

What’s your impression about Changsha? Spicy Hot food.

Eating hot food is due to the Climate and terrain. Changsha belong to Subtropics monsoon climate. It’s hot and humid in Summer, but cold and dry in Winter. Therefore, we need chilli to remove our body excess humidity in summer and warm our body in cold winter. This kind of climate is due to the terrain. The west, east and south of Hunan province are surrounded by mountain chain. There is luoxiao mountain chain in the east, wuling mountain chain in the west, nanling mountain chain in the south, so the whole hunan province is like a steam room in summer, like a icehouse in winter.
