小学英语口语比赛作文范文
小学英语口语比赛作文范文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Journey Learning EnglishHi everyone! My name is Emily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to share with you my experience learning English and how it has changed my life.I was first introduced to English when I was around 5 years old. My parents enrolled me in an English class for kids at our local language center. At first, I didn't really understand why I needed to learn another language. Mandarin was my native tongue and the language everyone spoke around me. English seemed strange and difficult with all its funny pronunciations and spellings that made no sense to me.In those early classes, we started by learning simple vocabulary words like colors, numbers, and basic phrases. The teacher used a lot of games, songs, and picture books to help us learn. I still remember singing cheesy kids' songs like "The Wheels on the Bus" and doing hand motions to help meremember words. Looking back, those silly strategies really worked for getting the fundamentals down.As I got a little older, learning English became more challenging but also more interesting. We started reading simple stories and working on grammar basics like verb tenses and sentence structure. My parents worked with me on homework, using flashcards and having me write out vocabulary words over and over. At times it felt tedious, but I could sense myself slowly improving.A major turning point came when I was around 8 years old and my parents started having me watch movies and shows in English. At first, I could barely follow along and needed Chinese subtitles. But eventually, my comprehension improved and I could understand more and more without the subtitles. My favorite was watching Disney movies where I was already familiar with the stories. Hearing the English dialogue while following along with something visual and engaging really helped cement my learning. Now, English stories, books, movies and TV have become one of my biggest passions and motivations for improving my skills. When I watch or read English content, I'm totally transported to another world. The stories entertain me whilenaturally exposing me to more vocabulary and dialogue. My personal goal is to one day be able to understand absolutely everything without any subtitles or translations needed. In school, English class has become one of my favorite subjects. My teachers have taken notice of my strong abilities, and I'm often asked to help out classmates who are struggling. It feels good to be able to share my knowledge and the learning strategies that worked for me. Sometimes though, I do get a little bored when we're going over really basic concepts that I've already mastered. I try my best to be patient and use that time to keep practicing and refining my skills.Looking ahead, I know that English proficiency will open up so many opportunities for me in the future when it comes to education, travel, and even careers. The world is becoming increasingly global and connected. By being bilingual, I'll have a major advantage over my monolingual peers. My dream is to one day attend an international university or work for a multinational company where I can use my English every single day.To any other students out there feeling discouraged about learning English, I want to encourage you to stick with it! It's a challenging but amazing process. Don't be afraid to step outsideyour comfort zone, make mistakes, and sound silly sometimes - that's all part of the learning journey. If a shy little kid like me could go from barely knowing "hello" to giving a whole speech in English, you can do it too! Just have patience, put in the hard work, and always keep your mindset focused on how much learning this language will benefit your future. With that, I'll leave you with one of my favorite English expressions: "The sky's the limit!" Being bilingual opens up so many possibilities for our lives and our world Gets smaller and more connected every day. Thanks for listening, and let's all keep working hard on our English skills together!篇2My Journey to Becoming an English SpeakerHi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to share with you my experience of learning English. It has been quite an adventure! When I was really little, maybe 4 or 5 years old, I didn't know any English at all. My parents only spoke Chinese at home. English seemed like some strange, alien language that I could never understand. The words sounded funny and made no sense to me.Then in kindergarten, we started having simple English lessons. At first, it was really hard. I remember struggling to pronounce words like "the" and "apple." Why did the "th" sound have to be so difficult? And my tongue felt all twisted trying to say words with "r" sounds like "red" and "car."But my English teacher, Miss Katie, was really nice and patient. She used lots of games, songs, and activities to make it fun for us. Slowly but surely, I started picking up basic words and phrases. I could say things like "Hello, how are you?" and "I'm fine, thank you."The real breakthrough happened when I was around 7 years old. My parents enrolled me in an after-school English enrichment program. Three times a week, I went to classes where we had full immersion in English. No Chinese was allowed! At first it was incredibly confusing and frustrating. I felt like I was in a completely different world where I couldn't understand anything. But the teachers were fantastic. They used picture books, games, role-playing, you name it to get us speaking. And little by little, it started clicking.I'll never forget the first time I had a full conversation in English without getting stuck or giving up partway through. Itwas such an incredible feeling of accomplishment! From that point on, I was hooked on learning English. My parents were really supportive too. They bought me English storybooks, movies, and even video games to practice with at home. Whenever I didn't know a word, they encouraged me to look it up in the dictionary or ask them. Every bit of exposure helped solidify what I was learning. In third grade, my English abilities took another jump when we started getting homework assignments and doing more writing compositions like this one. Having to use complete sentences to express my thoughts and ideas in English was challenging at first. But I worked really hard, asked lots of questions, and steadily improved. These days, I feel quite comfortable conversing and even telling jokes in English. I still have plenty to learn when it comes to more advanced reading, writing, and grammar. But I'm committed to continuing my English education all the way through middle school, high school, and beyond.English isn't just a subject I study. It has become a door that opens my mind to amazing books, movies, cultures, and friendships from all around the world. I may have been born in China, but English allows me to be a true global citizen.I'm so grateful to my parents, teachers, and everyone who has supported and encouraged me on this journey so far. Learning a new language hasn't always been easy, but it is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. Who knows, maybe one day I'll be an English teacher myself to inspire other kids!No matter where life takes me, I know English will always be an incredibly valuable skill and gift. It is a key that unlocks endless possibilities for understanding, exploring, and connecting across boundaries. So keep practicing and don't ever give up! You got this!篇3My Journey with EnglishHi everyone! My name is Emily and I'm a 5th grader at Oakwood Elementary School. Today I want to talk about my experience learning English and how it has opened up a whole new world for me.I was born in the United States, but my parents are from China. At home, we only spoke Mandarin Chinese. English was a complete mystery to me until I started preschool. On the first day, I remember feeling so lost and confused. All the other kids were chatting away in this strange language I didn't understand at all.During circle time when the teacher would ask questions, I just sat there silently. I was too shy and scared to even try speaking English.Thankfully, my teacher Ms. Jackson was really nice and patient with me. She would come sit next to me during activities and quietly translate things into Mandarin to help me understand. Slowly but surely, I started picking up basic English words like "colors," "shapes," "numbers," and simple phrases. By the end of that first year, I could understand most of what was going on, even if I still couldn't speak English very well myself. In kindergarten, we started learning the alphabet and how to read and write in English. I clearly remember the first word I could sound out and read on my own - "cat!" I was so proud and ran to show my mom. From then on, I was hooked on reading. I would beg my parents to take me to the library every weekend so I could check out new books. My favorites were the easy picture books by Dr. Seuss. The fun rhymes and silly made-up words made English feel less intimidating. Each year, English got a little easier for me. By 2nd grade, I was reading chapter books and could hold basic conversations. In 3rd grade, I got moved into the English as a Second Language (ESL) program at school along with the other kids who spokeanother language at home. We had small group lessons to practice our English skills like writing, grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. Having supportive teachers and classmates who were learning English just like me made me feel more confident to speak up and not be afraid of making mistakes. One of the biggest breakthroughs for me was when I started watching movies and TV shows in English. At first, I struggled to follow the dialogue and had to rely heavily on subtitles. But eventually, I got to where I could understand most of it just by listening. Some of my favorite shows were Dog with a Blog, Jessie, and Lab Rats. I would quote funny lines with my friends at school the next day. Watching those shows helped me learn more natural, conversational English.Another thing that really helped improve my English was participating in extracurricular activities and clubs at school. Being part of the Drama Club and putting on school plays required me to memorize and perform dialogue in English. It pushed me to work on my pronunciation, expression, and public speaking abilities. Student Council provided opportunities for me to lead meetings and give presentations entirely in English. The Robotics Team meant coding, collaborating with teammates, and explaining our project - again, all in English. Now that I'm in 5th grade about to finish elementary school, I'm so grateful for how much my English skills have grown over the years. Don't get me wrong, there are still plenty of idioms, slang words, and tricky grammar rules that give me trouble sometimes. But overall, I feel confident using English for everything from reading advanced books to writing essays to just chatting with friends. English is no longer a burden or source of frustration for me. It's a door that has opened up amazing opportunities to learn about other cultures, make new friends, explore different perspectives, and understand the world better. My journey learning English has been challenging at times, but also incredibly rewarding. I'm proud to be bilingual and value the ability to connect with people from all backgrounds. As I get ready to start middle school, I'm excited to continue improving my English skills and taking on new experiences like joining the Debate Team or trying out for the school musical. Who knows, maybe I'll even become an English teacher myself one day so I can inspire and support other students the way my ESL teachers did for me.So to all the other English language learners out there, just remember: It takes hard work and patience, but don't give up! Immerse yourself in English as much as you can through reading, watching shows, joining clubs, talking to native speakers. Pretty soon, what once felt so foreign will become second nature. English gives you the key to unlock so many incredible doors. Trust me, the journey is worth it!篇4My Favorite Super HeroesHi everyone! My name is Emily, and I'm a fifth-grader at Sunnyville Elementary School. Today, I'm going to talk about my favorite super heroes and why I admire them so much.First up, let me introduce you to Spider-Man! He's one of the coolest super heroes ever because he has amazing spider powers like climbing walls, shooting webs, and his "spider-sense" that warns him of danger. But what I love most about Spider-Man is that he's just an ordinary guy named Peter Parker who got bitten by a radioactive spider. That gave him super powers, but he still goes to school, does homework, and has to deal with everyday problems like the rest of us.Spider-Man always tries to do the right thing, even when it's hard. He fights bad guys like the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom, but he never uses his powers to hurt innocent people. Sometimes, he makes mistakes or gets into trouble, buthe never gives up and keeps trying his best to help others. That's why Spider-Man is my hero – because he's brave, determined, and always tries to make the world a better place, no matter what.Next up is Wonder Woman! She's an Amazon warrior princess from a secret island called Themyscira. Wonder Woman is super strong, can fly, and has a cool lasso that makes people tell the truth. But my favorite thing about her is her invisible jet –how cool is that?Wonder Woman stands for peace, love, and equality. She believes in truth and justice, and she's not afraid to fight for what's right. She's also really smart and uses her brains as much as her brawn to solve problems. Wonder Woman shows that girls can be just as strong and brave as boys, and that's why she's such an inspiring role model for girls everywhere.Last but not least, I want to talk about Black Panther. He's the king of a amazing country called Wakanda, which has the most advanced technology in the world. Black Panther has a cool vibranium suit that gives him super strength, speed, and agility. He's also a martial arts master and a brilliant strategist. What I love most about Black Panther is that he's a great leader who cares deeply about his people and his country. He'swilling to do whatever it takes to protect Wakanda and its secrets from those who would misuse its technology. Black Panther shows that true strength comes not just from power, but from wisdom, compassion, and a commitment to doing what's right for your community. These are just a few of my favorite super heroes, but there are so many others who inspire me too, like Captain America, Iron Man, and the Hulk. Super heroes teach us important lessons about courage, justice, and never giving up, even when the odds seem impossible. They remind us that we all have the power to make a difference in the world, no matter how small or ordinary we might seem.So the next time you're feeling down or like you can't overcome a challenge, just remember your favorite super hero and how they never back down from a fight. If they can save the world from evil villains and alien invasions, then we can definitely handle whatever life throws our way. We just need to believe in ourselves, stay strong, and always do what's right, just like our super hero role models.Thank you all for listening, and remember – with great power comes great responsibility! Let's all try to be a little bit more like our favorite super heroes each and every day.篇5My Oral English Competition ExperienceHi everyone! My name is Emily, and I'm a fifth-grader at Sunnydale Elementary School. Today, I want to share with you my exciting experience of participating in our school's Oral English Competition. It all started a few months ago when our English teacher, Ms. Johnson, announced the competition during our class. She encouraged us to sign up and told us it would be a great opportunity to practice our English speaking skills. At first, I was a little nervous because I didn't think my English was good enough. But my best friend, Sarah, convinced me to join her, and we decided to participate together. The weeks leading up to the competition were filled with hard work and preparation. Sarah and I would meet after school to practice our speeches and help each other with pronunciation and intonation. We also spent a lot of time researching our chosen topics and gathering information. Finally, the day of the competition arrived. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach as Sarah and I entered the school auditorium. There were so many other students from differentgrades, and they all looked so confident and prepared. But Sarah reminded me that we had practiced a lot, and we were ready to do our best. The competition started, and one by one, the participants took the stage to deliver their speeches. I was amazed by how well some of them spoke English and how interesting their topics were. When it was Sarah's turn, she spoke about her favorite book series, "Harry Potter," and she did an amazing job. I could see the judges nodding and taking notes as she spoke. Then, it was my turn to take the stage. I took a deep breath and walked up to the microphone. My topic was "My Dream Vacation," and I talked about how I wanted to visit the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. I tried my best to speak clearly and confidently, remembering all the tips Ms. Johnson had given us in class. When I finished my speech, the audience applauded, and I felt a huge sense of relief and accomplishment. Sarah and I hugged each other, proud of our efforts, no matter the outcome. After all the participants had finished, it was time for the judges to announce the winners. Sarah and I held hands, hoping for the best but also feeling proud of ourselves for having the courage to participate. To our surprise and delight, both of our names were called! Sarah won third place, and I won second place! We couldn't believe it. We jumped up and down, hugging each other tightly. As we went up to receive our medals and certificates, I felt a sense of pride that I had never experienced before. I realized that participating in the competition was not just about winning or losing; it was about challenging ourselves, stepping out of our comfort zones, and gaining confidence in our English speaking abilities. After the competition, our families and friends congratulated us, and we celebrated our achievements with a special dinner. Ms. Johnson told us how proud she was of our hard work and dedication.Looking back, the Oral English Competition was one of the most memorable experiences of my elementary school years. It taught me that with hard work, determination, and a positive attitude, I can achieve anything I set my mind to. It also reinforced my love for the English language and my desire to continue improving my skills. To all my fellow students, I encourage you to take every opportunity to challenge yourselves and step out of your comfort zones. Whether it's participating in a competition, tryinga new extracurricular activity, or taking on a difficult project, embracing these experiences will help you grow and develop valuable skills that will benefit you throughout your life.Thank you for listening to my story, and remember, every challenge is an opportunity to shine!篇6My English Speaking JourneyHi everyone! My name is Emily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to share with you my journey of learning to speak English. It has been quite an adventure!I started learning English when I was around 5 years old. At first, it was really tough because English seemed like a completely different language from my native tongue. The alphabet looked funny, and the words sounded nothing like what I was used to. I remember feeling frustrated a lot in those early days. However, my parents kept encouraging me, signing me up for English classes and buying me books and videos to help me learn. They said being bilingual would open up so many opportunities for me in the future. I'm really grateful theypersisted because English has become such an important part of my life now.One of the biggest breakthroughs for me was when I started watching cartoons and movies in English. Somehow, hearing the language in context like that made it click much better in my brain. I would repeat the lines over and over until I had them down perfectly. My parents must have gotten so annoyed with me running around quoting cartoon characters all day! But it really helped cement the language.Reading also became a huge part of my English journey. I loved getting lost in storybooks and novels in English. It exposed me to new vocabulary and helped me understand different contexts and expressions. Whenever I came across a word I didn't know, I would diligently look it up and write it down to review later. My vocabulary notebook became my prized possession! As the years went by, I got more and more confident with my English skills. But speaking was still the most challenging part for me. It's one thing to read and understand, but actually forming the words and putting sentences together on the fly? That required a whole other level of practice. That's when I started language exchange sessions with students from other countries online. At first I was really nervous to speak to native English speakers. What if I made a mistake or they couldn't understand me? But everyone was so friendly and patient. It was amazing getting to know kids from all around the world, learning about their cultures, all while improving my English conversational abilities.I also pushed myself to speak more English at school with my teachers and classmates who were learning it too. We would have little conversations during breaks about our days, our hobbies, anything to get that precious practice in. Often we ended up laughing at each other's pronunciation mistakes, but it was all in good fun. The more I spoke, the more natural it became. Now, as I get ready to graduate elementary school, I'm amazed at how far my English has come. What used to seem like an impossible, foreign language is now like a second mother tongue to me. I can understand books, movies, conversations, all of it. And most importantly, I'm able to express myself and my thoughts clearly when I speak.English has truly opened up a whole new world for me. I've made friends from English-speaking countries. I can engage withglobal media and culture. I'm even thinking about studying abroad one day, an opportunity I never could have imagined without English proficiency.Being bilingual, or even multilingual, is a wonderful gift. It connects you to different people and perspectives. It exercises your brain in unique ways. Most of all, it empowers you to explore and engage with different cultures, communities, and possibilities you could have never imagined otherwise. So don't get discouraged, my fellow students. Take it from me, an English learner who never gave up. The journey isn't fast or easy, but each stumbling block you overcome will make you stronger. Keep reading, keep watching, keep speaking, and keep believing in yourselves. One day, you'll find yourselves sharing your own bilingual journey, so grateful that you persisted through all the challenges. English is the key to a bigger, brighter world. Are you ready to unlock it?。

四年级下册英语口语比赛作文400字
四年级下册英语口语比赛作文400字全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My English Speaking ContestHi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm a 4th grader at Oakwood Elementary School. I'm really excited because next week is our school's annual English Speaking Contest! My teacher, Mrs. Anderson, encouraged all of us to enter and work hard to prepare a great speech.I've been practicing my English skills a lot lately to get ready. Speaking English is not always easy since it's my second language, but I've been trying my best. My parents only speak our native language at home, so school is where I get most of my English practice. For the contest, we each have to prepare a 3-5 minute speech on a topic of our choice and present it in front of judges. The judges will score us on things like pronunciation, fluency, grammar, vocabulary, and overall presentation skills. The student with the highest score wins!At first, I had no clue what to talk about for my speech. Mrs. Anderson suggested we pick a topic we feel passionate about and know a lot about already. That way, it's easier to speak clearly and confidently.I decided my topic would be about my favorite sport - basketball! I've been playing basketball since I was in 1st grade and I'm on my school's team. Basketball makes me so happy and I never get tired of talking about it.For my speech, I'm going to introduce what basketball is and share how I first got into the sport. Then I'll explain the basic rules and object of the game. I'll describe what positions there are and what each player's role is.I'll talk about some of my favorite professional basketball players and teams too. Of course, I'll make sure to mention my own experience playing on my school's team. I can share some highlights from our past games and tournaments. To prepare, I've been writing out my whole speech and practicing saying it out loud over and over again. My parents have been so supportive, listening to me practice every night. Sometimes we even video record my practice sessions so I can watch myself and keep improving.I'm getting more confident with my pronunciation of tricky English words related to basketball, like "dribble" and "free throw." I'm working hard on speaking slowly and clearly with good volume. Body language is important too, so I'm practicing keeping good posture and making eye contact. It's a lot of work getting ready, but I'm having fun with it! Even if I don't win the contest, preparing this speech is really helping me get more comfortable speaking English in front of people. That's a victory in itself.Wish me luck, everyone! I'll let you know how the contest goes after next week. Being able to speak and understand English well is such an useful skill. This experience is helping me see how much my skills have grown already and motivating me to keep practicing. Thanks for listening!篇2Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm a 4th grader at Sunny Hills Elementary School. Today I'm going to talk to you all about my favorite hobby - reading books!I just love getting lost in a good story. Whenever I open up a book, it's like being transported to another world. The characters feel like friends and I get to go on all kinds of amazingadventures with them without even leaving my room. How cool is that?My love for reading started when I was really little. My mom and dad would read me bedtime stories every single night before I went to sleep. Some of my favorites were Goodnight Moon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and Clifford the Big Red Dog.I remember thinking the pictures were so pretty and the stories were just magical. As I got a bit older, I started reading the books myself instead of having them read to me. That's when I discovered some of my favorite book series like The Magic Treehouse, Junie B. Jones, and of course, Harry Potter! I really looked up to brave characters like Jack and Annie, Junie B., and Harry, Ron and Hermione. Reading about their adventures made me feel courageous too. These days, I've moved on to longer chapter books and novels. I recently read Wonder by R.J. Palacio and it totally made me cry! It's such an inspirational story about a boy with a facial deformity and how he overcomes bullying with kindness. I think everyone should read that book.Another book I loved was Front Desk by Kelly Yang. It's based on the author's own experiences growing up in a motelthat her immigrant parents ran. I found the story reallyeye-opening about the challenges that many immigrant families face. But it was also funny and sweet at the same time.My latest obsession is the Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer. It combines classic fairy tales that we all know and love with new adventures and characters. The books are quite long but I can never put them down because the stories are just so creative and engaging!Reading has taken me to so many incredible places already - from the towering trees of Fablehaven, to the magical schools of Hogwarts and Alma Tor, to galaxies far far away. I can't wait to see where the next book I read will transport me. Maybe I'll get to walk amongst the ancient ruins of Greece and Rome, or set sail for mysterious islands. Or maybe I'll even get to go back in time and hang out with famous figures from history! The possibilities are endless when you have a book in your hands. That's why I think reading is just about the coolest hobby ever. Books allow you to learn, to use your imagination, to experience wonderful adventures, and to make new friends in the form of characters - all from the comfort of your own home. And getting lost in a riveting story is just so much fun!I really hope I've inspired some of you to pick up reading asa hobby too if you don't already love it as much as I do. A famous author named Dr. Seuss once said: "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." That rings so true for me and my experiences with books so far. Happy reading, everyone!篇3My English Speaking Contest ExperienceHi everyone! My name is Amy and I'm a 4th grader at Maple Elementary School. Today I want to share with you all about my amazing experience participating in our school's annual English Speaking Contest. It all started a few months ago when my English teacher, Mrs. Roberts, announced that she was looking for students to represent our class in the contest. I really enjoy learning and practicing English, so I decided to sign up. A bunch of my classmates also signed up – we were all really excited! The first step was to prepare a short speech on a topic of our choice. I spent a long time thinking about what to write my speech on. At first, I thought about doing it on my favorite book series, but then I decided to go with something more personal –my experience moving from China to the United States when I was 6 years old.I worked really hard on writing out my speech, making sure to use proper English grammar and lots of descriptive words to paint a picture with my story. My parents helped me practice delivering the speech out loud over and over again. I also made sure to work on my pronunciation, intonation, and body language. Finally, the day of the classroom preliminaries arrived. I was pretty nervous, but also confident because of how much I had prepared. One by one, each contestant got up to give their speech. I was impressed by how well my classmates did! When it was my turn, I took a deep breath and started speaking."When I was 6 years old, my parents told me we were moving from Beijing, China to Los Angeles, California..."I recounted the story of packing up our belongings, saying goodbye to my grandparents and friends, and boarding the long flight across the Pacific. I described my first impressions of America - the different sights, sounds, and smells. I talked about how difficult it was at first not knowing any English and how I felt like an outsider. But over time, through attending school andmaking friends, I gradually became more comfortable in my new home. When I finished, my classmates and Mrs. Roberts all clapped enthusiastically. A few days later, the results were posted – I had been selected as one of the three students from our class to move on to the school-wide contest! The weeks leading up to the school contest were a blur of intense practice sessions. My parents continued drilling me on my speech. My older sister, who is in 7th grade, gave me lots of useful tips since she had been in the contest before. I also worked with Mrs. Roberts on my stage presence and responding to any questions the judges might ask. Then the big day finally arrived. I was feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves as my parents and I walked into the auditorium packed with students, teachers, and families. When it was my turn to go on stage, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. But as soon as I started speaking, I was able to relax and get into the flow of my speech.Afterwards, the judges asked me a couple follow-up questions about my experience learning English. I think I was able to answer them clearly and confidently thanks to all my practice. I tried my best to really convey the challenges I faced, but also how rewarding it has been to become fluent in a second language and culture. While I awaited the results along with the other contestants, I felt proud no matter what happened. Just making it to this level was a huge achievement in itself after all the hard work I had put in.When they finally announced the winners, I was stunned and overjoyed to hear my name called for 3rd place! I couldn't believe it. As I walked up on stage and received my medal and certificate, I felt such a tremendous sense of accomplishment. This was definitely one of the highlights of my elementary school experience so far.Overall, participating in the English Speaking Contest was an incredibly enriching experience that allowed me to step outside my comfort zone, build essential public speaking skills, and gain more confidence in my English abilities. While it required a lot of dedication and perseverance, it was absolutely worth it.I'm already excited about the possibility of doing it again next year! But for now, I'm just feeling so grateful to my parents, sister, and Mrs. Roberts for supporting me every step of the way. This is a memory I'll cherish forever.篇4My Journey with EnglishHi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm a 4th grader at Sunny Hills Elementary School. Today I want to share my journey of learning English with all of you.I still remember the first time I was introduced to English. It was in kindergarten and I was really nervous. All the letters looked so strange and the words sounded funny. But my teacher, Mrs. Johnson, was super nice and patient with us.At first, learning English was really hard. I would get frustrated because I just couldn't remember all the new words and rules. Why did "tough" sound so篇5My English Speaking JourneyHi everyone! My name is Emily and I'm a 4th grade student. Today I want to share with you my journey of learning English and how it has helped me grow.It all started when I was just a little kid in kindergarten. We had an English class once a week and I remember being soexcited for it! The teacher would teach us simple words like "apple", "book", and "hello." I loved repeating the words and trying to say them just like the teacher. My parents also got me some English picture books and I would spend hours looking at the pictures and reading the words out loud.In 1st grade, we started learning more vocabulary and simple sentences. I still remember my first full sentence - "I have a red ball." Speaking that first full English sentence made me feel so proud! We also started learning the alphabet and how to spell basic words. My teacher would have us do fun activities like singing the alphabet song.2nd grade was when English really started getting challenging for me. We learned about verb tenses, adjectives, and question words. Forming full sentences was hard at first. I would mix up my words or say things incorrectly. But my teacher was very patient and encouraging. She would gently correct me and have me keep practicing. Little by little, my English skills improved. Then in 3rd grade, we began reading simple stories and books in English. Reading out loud was very intimidating for me initially. I was worried about mispronouncing words or not understanding the plot. But my teacher created a safeenvironment where we could all practice without fear of embarrassment. By the end of the year, I loved raising my hand to read passages from our books. Now, here I am in 4th grade. English has become one of my favorite subjects! We're learning about more advanced grammar concepts like perfect tenses and modal verbs. We also get to have conversations and practice dialogues with partners. Just last week, we did a fun skit about ordering food at a restaurant. I played the role of the server and really worked on my English pronunciation and intonation.Learning English has helped me in so many ways beyond just the language itself. It has taught me discipline, persistence, and the value of practice. Whenever I feel frustrated because something is difficult, I remind myself of how far I've come with English. It motivates me to keep trying.English has also opened up a whole new world for me. I can read incredible stories, watch fun movies and shows, and connect with people from all over the world. Someday, I hope to travel and put my English skills to use conversing with locals.Overall, my English speaking journey has been an amazing adventure so far. There have been challenges and struggles, but also incredible amounts of growth, pride, and joy. I am sograteful to my parents and teachers for their support and encouragement every step of the way.I still have so much more to learn, but I am excited to continue improving my English skills. To anyone also learning, I encourage you to stick with it! Be patient, keep practicing, and don't be afraid to make mistakes. The rewards of speaking this global language are immense.Thank you all for listening to my story today. I appreciate you letting me practice my English speaking in front of you. Here's to many more years of learning, growing, and most importantly, not being afraid to use my voice.篇6My English Speaking Contest ExperienceHi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm a fourth-grade student at Sunny Hills Elementary School. Today I want to tell you all about my experience participating in the annual English Speaking Contest at our school. It was such an exciting and nerve-wracking experience! It all started a few months ago when my English teacher, Mrs. Johnson, announced that our class would be selecting studentsto represent us in the contest. She said it was a great opportunity to practice our English speaking skills in front of an audience. At first, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it because I get really shy speaking in front of a lot of people. But my best friend Katie convinced me that we should both sign up and do it together. She's so brave and outgoing, which is the total opposite of me!We had to prepare a short speech on a topic of our choice. Katie and I decided to do our speech on our favorite books because we both love reading so much. We spent weeks working on it together after school, practicing over and over until we had it perfectly memorized. I still got butterflies in my stomach every time I thought about actually performing it in front of the judges and audience though. Finally, the day of the contest arrived. When we got to school, there were lots of parents and teachers setting up chairs in the auditorium and decorations everywhere. We had to check in backstage and wait for our turn to compete. The backstage area was complete chaos with all the other students practicing their speeches and getting their outfits and props ready. I was so nervous I thought I might be sick! But then it was our turn to go on stage. The bright lights were shining in our faces and there were so many people in theaudience watching us. I took a deep breath and suddenly felt calm. Katie went first and did an amazing job. She spoke clearly and gestured with her hands like we had practiced. When it was my turn, I channeled all my nerves into extra enthusiasm and energy. I don't even really remember doing the speech - it was like an out-of-body experience! But I know I didn't make any mistakes. After all the contestants had gone, we had to wait forever for the judges to decide the winners. I crossed my fingers and toes so hard. And guess what? Katie and I both won prizes! She got 2nd place and I got 3rd place in our grade level. We jumped up and down screaming and hugging each other when they called our names. Our parents looked so proud.Overall, the experience of being in the English Speaking Contest was one I'll never forget. Even though I was terrified at first, I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and did it. It really boosted my confidence in my English skills and public speaking abilities. I can't wait to do it again next year!。
