The Day after Tomorrow mainly tells us that Jack Hall, who is the climatologist, predicts that global warming will lead to a new ice age and he issues a warning at a New Delhi conference, hoping the American vice-president can take measures to deal with it. However, the vice-president refuses to listen to Jack and he doesn’t believe that prediction will come t rue. Before long, some abnormal phenomena happen in man cities. Actually, the scary disaster comes much faster than Jack has imagined before. Afterwards, tornados, floods, the snow, and the hailstones attack many cities. Then the president starts to pay at tention to Jack’ suggestion and decides to evacuate residents of the north so as to save people as soon as possible. At the center of the story, Jack tries to save the world from the effects of global warming while he promises to save his son, Sam, who is trapped in New York. Finally, Jack succeeds in rescuing his son through many difficulties. In these two films, most people keep brave to struggle against the disaster. The reporters are bold in reporting immediate news and message about the weather and environment. Doctor, Lucy is the only one person who has enough encourage to stay with the little cancer patient to wait the ambulance when others leave the hospital. The three scientists, who are trapped in the snow area, have nothing to choose, but to wait for death. Honestly, they are so brave and calm to confront of the disaster. Because of braver, they can face the disaster and deal with the situation calmly and optimistically. Due to the bravery, they devote themselves to their jobs with the heart and soul. Thanks to bravery, we can see many people stand fast at their posts. Therefore, bravery is one of the important key to overcoming the difficulties, conquering natural disaster and surviving. Without it, lives are lost, and dreams are destroyed. I think without bravery, people are easy to damage.2.3 The generousness of the great sacrifice.With the heavy heart, I find the brilliance of humanity, sacrifice, which always makes me shed tears. In the films, we can see many scientists sacrifice their personal interests so as to save the humans from the death; many daring rescuing teams make efforts to rescue others at the risk of their lives. Especially, the president in 2012 declines to get on ark but stays along with his people, making me moved deeply. What surprise me is that Yuri, who is a mean and selfish man, sacrifices his life to get his sons on board at last. Even if the disaster is terrible, and many people are eager to survive, there still are many people sacrificing their lives to save others in that they are great and disinterested in most cases.III.we can draw some important and profound lessons from these two films.3.1To value what we have possessed.After experiencing the disaster and surviving finally, the main characters in these twofilms both learn that value is very significant. At fist, they regard their jobs as the priorities, so that they don’t have enough time to stay with their family and express their love to those who they really care about. As the disaster happens, they just find out what is most important to them. When the death is coming, they just find that family is significant and they just regret not spend time on their family, their friends and their relatives. It is obvious that people should better possess what they have at present, or we may have no opportunities in the future. While, I don’t agree the result of 2012, in which only some rich people and scientists and government officials survive. Appreciating CinemaWe do have futureⅠ.IntroductionMany people think the Day after Tomorrow and 2012are two disastrous films, which present our human the terrible appearance of the earth before the coming of the end of the world. But for me, they are not so much disastrous stories as two integrated films, which involve kinships between families, love, friendship, social responsibility and human civilization, driving us lost in deep thoughts. In these two films, a lot of natural disasters and catastrophes breaking out altogether at the blink of an eye as a result of the serious greenhouse effects and global warming. The disasters which can’t be seen in normal days destroy the houses, the mountains, the trees, the whole cities, the whole countries as well as human beings. Impressively, comparing with nature, although the human are so insignificant that can’t do anything to help themselves at the time when the disasters come, I see the most beautiful and precious parts of humanity at the dangerous moment. Eventually, the earth recovers still with those disasters gone, people survive their cities and their countries, and the whole world and human beings finally avoid its extinction. The movies end, but my thoughts can’t stop. The several hours’ long movies give me a strong strike and touch my heart deeply. Ⅱ.The Impressive PlotsThese two American Hollywood movies are produced and directed by a famous director, who uses many amazing special techniques presenting a series of heart shaking disasters. Besides those scary but real scenes, there’re many moving things happening during the dangerous moments. There are some impressive plots I have to mention:2.1. The coming of disastersBecause of the serious global warming, the nature brings the human tremendous disasters which involve earthquake, flood, hurricane, volcanic eruption, tornados and so on. I clearly remember these moments that when a wall of water roars into NewYork, when snow buries skyscrapers, when the crew of a space station can see nothing but violent storm systems and when the American flag is freezed at the appearance of flying. These scenes are so scary and so real that I can’t help to admiring the spectacular special effects and thinking about the strong power of nature.2.2. The positive and beautiful humanity in front of disasters2.2.1. EqualityNoah’s Ark is intended for the rich and the important politicians, and the ordinary people can impossibly afford 10 billion a ticket. But at the last moment of Ark’s taking off, the captain and the leaders open all the doors of the Ark to let all the desperate people in for considering that everyone is equal. Besides, in spite of the danger, the little girl in the Day after Tomorrow and the wanderer in 2012 take their dog escaping from the disasters with themselves rather than abandon them. At those moments, it is really a show of equality.2.2.2. ResponsibilityIn2012, the president of American gives up his ticket at last. He knows that considering about the devotion to the civilization of human, politicians are far less than scientists. So he wants to stay with his country to finish his mission as well as the honor. It is really a show of the sense of responsibility.2.3. The appearance of earth after the catastrophesAt the end of the Day after Tomorrow, the sky becomes extremely blue and clear. “Have you ever seen such a blue sky?” This is the last line of the movie, and it exactly reveals that people begin to realize the importance of environment and our human beings will have future.Ⅲ. Reflection3.1. Sensibility3.1.1. Kinship between familiesIn the Day after Tomorrow, despite the terrible situation, Jack persists in heading for north alone, looking for his son; in 2012,the Russia business man drops into the abyss for pushing his two sons onto the Ark. In such a case, nothing is importantexcept families.3.1.2. Love“Dear, we must be together even though we’ll die.”It is a line in 2012. How moved a line it is! Love is the most beautiful thing in the world and it is strong enough to conquer death.3.1.3. FriendshipIn the Day after Tomorrow, Sam together with his friends deals with difficulties and experiences dangerous moments, they never leave anyone behind even though they are at the corner of death. At that moment, I understand the meaning of “A friend indeed is a friend in need”.3.2. Human civilizationWith the development of science and technology, our human civilization makes progresses constantly. However, those progresses are at the expense of our environment. When our human are confronted with these catastrophes, when our human civilization is facing with extinction, and when our earth is at the edge of destruction, where is the meaning of civilization development? We must learn that our environment is as important as human civilization, and our human must attach importance on environment.Ⅳ.Inspiration4.1. The importance of environmentIn these two movies, owing to our human’s unconsciousness and ignorance of environment, we are badly punished by nature but we are incapable of overcoming it. As a matter of fact, in modern society, global warming is getting worse and worse with the consequence of worse and worse climate. And finally, I believe that if our humans don’t stop damaging environment, we will shoulder the punishment sooner or later. Therefore, at this moment, we must be aware of the importance of environment and speak highly of environmental protection.4.2. Human responsibilityIn modern society, each country is concentrated on developing their economy,especially for developed countries. But they pay much less attention to environment than to economic development, as a result, global warming is as common as other normal conceptions and varieties of natural disasters take place every now and then. At this high moment, each country must cooperate with each other, shoulder the responsibility and deal with the serious environmental situation. Earth is our family, environment gives us life as a gift, and there is no doubt that we should and must try our best to protect our earth. If only we shoulder our responsibility of protecting environment, we do have bright future.4.3. HumanityMaybe besides the awareness of environmental protection, the most impressive thing in the movies is humanity. In this monetary society, our human are becoming more and more selfish for individual interests, and gradually we lose our human nature. But fortunately, when we are confronted with death, we help each other and support each other. We show the most beautiful parts of our nature. It turns out that our human still have our humanity and so we will have future.Ⅴ.ConclusionThese two movies just like a warning or a forecast of the future of human beings and these disasters are the consequences of human activities－focusing on economic development, abusing natural recourses, damaging the natural environment and reforming nature arbitrarily. Once these disasters come, they mercilessly take people’s most precious things away: life, the whole body, and even dream and hope. At that moment, we have nothing left but to wait for the coming of death. But when I see that everyone help each other at the dangerous moment, I realize that our human will not be destroyed and we do have future. Just like the ending of these two films, we, our civilization and our earth finally survive. So let’s pay attention to our environment, handle the bad situation of our life and create our bright future. Because we do have future!。

My feelings of the movie 2012
If tomorrow is the end of the world, what would you like to do and whom would you like to be along with? I think most of us will choose to stay with our family and our best lovers. So did the hero in the movie. 2012 is a disaster movie, and from the movie,we can truly notice the terrible of the disaster and the death is so close. Most of the people become puny when we are confronting the unexpected disasters, even the superman in the business or political world. In this movie , I can truly see the weakness of people, and I think maybe it’s also my weakness----being afraid of death, selfishness and cowardice.
But I am really moved by the hero’s strong will when the danger was coming. Although he divorced from Kate, Kate and their children were still the most important for him. Jackson is clinging and idealist, he thinks he can control the situations. Because of his idealism, when other of them were afraid, he was the one to energize his family to be brave and never give up. There was no doubt that Jackson was the spiritual force among them. From Jackson, I know that the disaster can destroy everything, but the will can destroy the disaster! There is an old saying in China is people living in one breath, I think that is it.
Then I was moved by the great president. If Jackson is the spiritual force to save us from death, the president must be the spiritual force to tell you that death is not as awful as you thought. He had had a chance to
be alive, but he gave it up and chose to stay behind. In China, there is a famous historian called Sima Qian, he said that though death befalls all men alike, it may be weightier than Mount Taishan or lighter than a feather. I think the president is an epitome of many people who put aside personal affairs when they are facing the righteous cause. But it is this epitome gives us more energies and inspires us forever.
And I really feel regretful and sad to the old sailor, Will. He loves his son and he was touched when he heard his granddaughter called him grandpa. But when he realized that he loved them more than others, it was too late. Sometimes we like to be difficult with persons we love, we just don’t want to submit and we want to be submitted. But how short life is! It will not give us all the chances to be self-willed, so if we can be not stubborn, we can get more happy time with our lovers.
At last, I think everyone is equal as parents. Kate prefers to give up her own life rather than give up her kids’. So does Yuri. It’s no doubt that he is selfish and offish, but as a father, he is as great as other ordinary fathers. He can still give up his life for his sons.After I became a girl’s mother, I think I can feel that feeling.
This film touches my heart because of the emotions in it. We’re lucky that we are alive and all the people we care are still here.So I think if we live each day as if it was our last, we will cherish more and be more gentle.。
