因此，使用好教材，教材中的任何一个可读可写的素材是很必要的。
现以苏教版义务教育课程标准实验教科书《牛津初中英语》为例，如：学案8b（下）第一单元课文《times have changed》可仿写《the changes in my hometown》的习作。
又如：9a（上）第四单元课文《talk about tv programmes》后可练写《my favourite tv》习作等。
与课文、日记、作文，学范文仿写，一题可多作，可写节日、活动等。
真可谓名目多，精彩连连。
像这样读写结合，训练有方，既相得益彰，又笔端生花，何乐而不为呢？
三．搜集素材
书到用时方恨少。
学生经常在阅读时没材料，写作时没素材；或不知读什么，写什么，总感觉很茫然。
于是，我在平时多指导学生做好浏览选择和积累记录的工作，注意搜集阅读和写作材料，以便随用随取。
其实，搜集素材的工作量并不大，每个材料可在60—80间左右即可。
学校开展“学雷锋，做好事”活动，我随机组织班级学生积极参加，并做好笔记，结果同学们都能些出自己的文章。
实践表明：只要平时注意搜集素材，并做到持之以恒，考场作文就一定能妙笔如神。
四．成立兴趣小组
成立阅读写作兴趣小组，可以激发同学们的热情，提高阅读写作
的水平，带动全提学生的提高。
无论是阅读还是写作，成立兴趣小组，能迅速产生迅捷、高效的效果。
当然，成立阅读写作兴趣小组，还可以集思广益，博采众长，达到资源共享的的效果，不妨试一试。
五．自主习作
让学生自由，给学生自主，符合学生心理规律和自主规律，能激发学生学习热情和上进心，能让学生提升自我，真正实现由“要我学”变为“我要学”的佳境。
指导学生自主习作，更能使他们喜闻乐道。
自主习作，可以在教师指导下进行，学生自主写作后互换，相互找错，纠错，提出中肯意见后再回到写作中去，自己手里过关，这样一个单元组次，有序推进，若长期推进此项工作，效果一定是卓越的。
学生们认为：自主时思维敏捷，习作时互通有无。
教无定法，英语教学亦如此。
真可谓天地广阔，方法很多。
但无论使用什么样的方法，必须符合教学规律，体现学生心理特点和认知规律，才能收到事办功倍的效果。
多年来的教学实践告诉我，提高认识，方法到位，训练有方，教学效果一定会很好的，遵循教学规律，符合学生心理规律和学习规律，把握好阅读写作的结合点，英语教学效果就一定会更上一层楼。
