2. Study the following two paragraphs and decide which one is formal and which one is informal. Analyze what makes for the difference in formality.

1） "I 've gotta be in court at nine on Tuesday morning. For sure I won't be back in time for

Walker's bio test. Hope the old guy lets me take a makeup."

2） “Excuse me, sir. I have to be in court next Tuesday and so I must be absent from the

III. Paragraph writing.（30%）

Narrative ties ideas to real sensory, day-to-day experience: it binds the abstract to the concrete. That ’s why narration helps make all kinds of writing more interesting and meaningful. You are required to write a paragraph of about 100-150 words describing a classroom. Use specific details to convey one of the following emotions: peace, anxiety, depression, boredom, anticipation, suspense, joy. (Give the paragraph a title. Don ’t name the emotion in your description. Figures of speech are necessary to amuse your readers.)
