Hello, boys and girls!
I feel honored to make a speech about “Friendship”.As we know, friendship plays an important role in our life. We can share our joys and sorrows with friends, without whom we may feel lonely.
So precious is friendship that we should treasure it and try to make it last forever. Firstly, we should show concern for our friends. Secondly, if they open up to us, listen patiently, which they value most. More importantly, we’d better communicate with friends regularly. In this way our friendship can last long.
Briefly, it takes care and attention to maintain friendship.
That’s all. Thank you.
第二节读后续写(满分25分)(One possible version)
I was both nervous and excited when it was my turn. But I quickly calmed down.Full of confidence, I walked on stage with my hula hoop and unicycle. When the music started to play, I concentrated on every movement, doing the routine skillfully as planned. The audience excitedly screamed, flooding the loud music. It f elt so great and I wasn’t nervous at all while performing. On finishing my routine and bowing to the audience, I was greeted with another storm of applause.
When I got home, I couldn’t wait to check my mobile phone left at home. To my great joy, I received many messages of congratulations from my classmates and teachers.Maria texted me, singing high praise for my courage and efforts. Even the headmaster emailed me, saying that my act was the highlight of the show and how much he loved it. He also expressed his appreciation for what I did for charity. I replied it was my pleasure to have done that. Recalling all this, I
realize that had I not practiced a lot and taken the chance, I wouldn’t have experienced all these wonderful things.
附:听力录音材料
1. M: I have tried very hard to find a solution to the problem, but in vain.
W: Why not consult with Frank? You see, two heads are better than one.
2. M: Excuse me. I wonder if I can use your dictionary. I left mine in the dormitory.
W: Help yourself. It’s on the desk over there.
3. M: What’s the matter with Jane? She has be en sitting there for hours.
W: A letter from her mother set off an attack of homesickness in her.
4. W: Natural food has more vitamins, and it’s just as easy to prepare.
M: How do you prepare the potatoes?
W: I wash them, and then steam them for 15 minutes. Then I add butter, salt and pepper. 25 to
30 minutes is enough.
5. W: And what are your plans for the holidays, Steve?
M: Oh, I want a lazy time somewhere on the beach with lots of sun.
W: Really? I thought you always go climbing mountains somewhere.
M: Exactly, so this year will be different.
6. W: The play was interesting. I enjoyed every minute of it.
M: So did I. Hamlet is always classical.
W: Exactly. Let’s stop in the supermarket for a minute. I need some medicine.
M: OK. I’ve got to buy some cigarettes, anyway.
W: Really? Why can’t you set a good example for Tommy and John? They are big boys. I never like boys smoking. I can’t bear two more smokers in the house.
7. M: It’s my wife’s birthday, and I’m going to buy her some flowers.
W: Perhaps you’d be interested in red roses.
M: How much do the roses cost?
W: They’re only $20 a dozen.
M: That sounds good. Last year I paid $30.
W: Yes, you’re saving money because they’re on sale today.
M: I’ll take a dozen of your most beautiful roses.
W: Could I interest you in anything else?
M: No, I’ll just give her the roses and a card.
W: She should be very pleased with these roses.
8. W: Wake up, it’s time for school.
M: I’m so tired. Let me sleep for five more minutes.
W: You have to get up and get ready for school.
M: I know, but just five more minutes.
W: I can’t let you go back to sleep, because you won’t wake up.
M: I promise I’ll wake up in five minutes.
W: You still need to take a shower, get dressed, and eat breakfast.
M: I realize that, and I can do all that in five minutes when I wake up.
W: I don’t want you to be late for school today.
M: I’m not going to be late today.
W: Fine, five more minutes. 7 o’clock is the time.
M: Thank you.
9. M: Where is your hometown?
W: My hometown is in Hanoi, which is the capital city of Vietnam. It’s located in the north of the country, not really that far from the southern Chinese border.
M: Is there much to do in your hometown?
W: Oh, yes, there’s certainly a lot to do there as it’s a fairly big city. If you like going out in the evening, there are a lot of good restaurants and bars. If you prefer cultural activities, there are museums and art galleries. And if you like nature, there are lots of other things outside of the city which are easy to reach.
W: What are the people like in your hometown?
W: They are mostly quite friendly, but as with most big cities, everyone is often busy, so it may seem as if they are not interested in speaking or having a chat. But if you live there you know that most people are quite happy to have a chat if they have time and will help you if needed.
10. W: Oh, I forgot to mention, feel free to ask questions at any time. OK, you can see that we
have some amazing gardens to walk around in. We’ll talk ab out the different areas and then you can explore on your own. If you move closer to the map, you’ll be able to see better.
As you can see, we have three different areas with different kinds of plants in the gardens. Each has different sections with different types of plants. There will be signs giving you information on each section.
Let’s talk about the outdoor landscape first. This landscape will continue to change over time, and of course, the plants here change with the seasons too. Oh, it’s quite a l ong walk down to the end of this section, but there is a train that runs from here at the Visitor Centre. Any questions? OK, let’s go on.。
