AActress Hayden Panettiere recently got into trouble with Japanese fishermen as she tried to stop them from killing dolphins. The 18-year-old star with some other surfers sailed out to reach the dolphins in order to stop them from being driven into a nearby pool and killed, but the six surfers, from Australia and the United States, were stopped by a fishing boat before they could reach them. The fishermen blocked their way with a boathook (钩篙). It was an ugly, unfriendly and life-threatening struggle before the surfers were forced to return to the beach. It is believed that the dolphins were later taken into a pool and killed.Panettiere, who is a brave surfer and loyal animal protector, made up her mind to save the dolphins of Japan and said, "It was really frightening. Some of us were hit by the boathook, but in the end all we were really worried about was the dolphins. It was so sad. We were so close to them and they were jumping out of the water to see us." Breaking down in tears, she added, "One little baby dolphin stuck his head out and looked at me and the thought that it’s no longer with us is really hard to take."The surfers left the country to avoid arrest (逮捕)by the Japanese police. Panettiere is now back in Los Angeles.More than 22,000 dolphins are killed by fishermen in Japan every year. Many Japanese believe dolphins should be treated like fish. They have been hunting dolphins for centuries and see any criticism (批评) of this as an attack on their culture.21. Why did the surfers get into trouble with the fishermen in Japan?A. They said something that hurt the fishermen.B. They entered a pool which wasn’t allowed to go into.C. They attacked Japanese culture.D. They tried to stop the fishermen from killing the dolphins.22. From Paragraph 3, we can learn that Panettiere ________.A. was really frightened and sadB. succeeded in saving the dolphinsC. cried when they were hit by the boathookD. didn’t like the Japanese fishermen23. Which of the following would be the best title for this passage?A. What Happened While Surfing in JapanB. Hayden Panettiere Cried in the Sea of JapanC. People Worldwide Are Against Killing DolphinsD. Protect the Wild AnimalsBThe influence of America is increasing in my country. Spanish people drink Coca Cola, wear blue jeans, watch Hollywood movies, listen to American music, and eat fast food, and they do these things every day.I think that American movies are a good way to spread American culture because people are often influenced by what they see in the movies. Most of the programs and documentaries (纪录片) we watch on TV are from America, and most of the movies we go to see are made in Hollywood. In the last few years, the government has tried to protect the Spanish movies. Now, in our cinemas, at least twenty percent of the movies which are shown must be from Spain or from other countries in Europe.American culture is a part of Spanish life now. It’s certain that many things from America are as much a part of people’s lives as Spanish things. For example, Coca Cola is as familiar to everybody as any typical Spanish product. I’ve known about Coca Cola for my whole life. However, it’s different with Western fast food. For example, I don’t think McDonald’s is as successful in Spain as it is in other countries. In my opinion, one of the reasons may be the lifestyle of the Spanish people. The Spanish people normally eat at home.On the other hand, maybe McDonald’s hamburgers will eventually replace the famous Spanish tapas. It’s true that in every city in Spain you can find a McDonald’s, and it is more popular among the Spanish children than among the adults. In any case, it’s obvious that American culture is being more and more a part of our lives every day.24. From the first paragraph we can know that ____.A. the influence of America on Spain can be found everywhereB. most Spanish pe ople don’t like to listen to their own musicC. fast food spreads from Spain to the United StatesD. some Spanish actors go to America to improve their acting skills25. What plays an important part in the spreading of American culture in Spain?A. American novels.B. Hollywood movies.C. McDonald’s.D. American music.26. Why did the government set some rules for the films shown in Spain?A. To protect foreign culture in Spain.B.To earn more money from Spanish films.C. To limit the number of foreign movies.D. To unite the European munity.27. What do you think Spanish tapas might be?A. The name of a drink.B. The name of a restaurant.C. A clothing brand.D. A certain kind of food.CDear Mr. Price,I have eaten in your restaurant many times and have always been happy with thefood and service, but what happened last Saturday made me very angry. It was my son'sbirthday so we ordered a no-smoking table at your restaurant for 7:30 p.m. We arrivedon time but were told that our table was not yet ready. At 8:00 p. m., we were givena table in the smoking area. I asked to move but I was told that there were no othertables. A lot of people were smoking so it was unfortable and unhealthy. The first waitress, Janet, was very polite and helpful. She gave us free drinksfor waiting so long. Our food also came quickly and looked fresh and tasty. When mywife had eaten most of her meal, she found a little insect in her vegetables. Shewas surprised and wanted to leave. At first, the waitress told us it was a piece ofgarlic(大蒜). When we told her that garlic does not have legs, she said sorry andtook the food away.We asked for the bill, expecting not to pay for my wife's meal. Nobody came. After15 minutes, I asked to see the manager. The head waiter told us that he was on holiday.I plained again about the terrible insect. He told me Janet had finished work. Hedidn't believe my story and gave me a bill for the three meals including my wife's.I argued with him but had to pay in the end.The waitress, Janet, was always friendly, but I would like an apology(道歉)from your impolite head waiter and a full refund(退款)for our meal. It cost $68.Until then, I will not be eating at your restaurant or remending it to anyone. You can contact me on 742-3254 or through e-mail if you want more information.Thank you for your attention.Yours sincerely,Raymond Yuen28. How did Mr. Yuen feel about the restaurant before last Saturday?A. Pleased.B. DisappointedC. Interested.D. Concerned.29. According to the passage, which of the following is true?A. Mr. Yuen had his birthday party at the restaurant.B. Mr. Yuen paid for all the meals they had ordered.C. Mr. Yuen was satisfied with the service and food.D. Mr. Yuen argued with the manager of the restaurant.30. Mr. Yuen wants Mr. Price to .A. say sorry to himB. pay for his billC. fire the head waiterD. get the head waiter to apologize31. This is basically a letter of .A. appreciationB. apologyC. disagreementD. Dissatisfaction DWhen Joan gave birth to the first boy in her family in three generations, she andher husband were overjoyed. So were her parents. Joan expected her elder sister, Sally,to be just as delighted as them. Joan had always admired Sally--the beauty and thestar of the family--and felt happy about her achievements. But since the baby's arrival, the sisters have bee distant. Joan feels hurt forSally seems pletely uninterested in her baby. Sally, who has no children, claims thather younger sister "acts as if no one ever had a baby before."Neither Sally nor Joan understands that the real cause of the current coldness is that their family roles have suddenly changed to the opposite. Finally Joan seems to be better than her elder sister--and Sally doesn't like it! Their distance may be temporary, but it shows that childhood petition don't fade easily as ages grow. It can remain powerful in relationships throughout life.In a study of the University of Cincinnati, 65 men and women between ages 25 and 93 were asked how they felt about their brothers and sisters. Nearly 75 percent admitted having hidden petitive feelings. In a few cases, these emotions were so strong as to have affected their entire lives. Many adult brothers and sisters are close, supportive--yet still tend to pete. Two brothers I know turn into killers when on opposite sides of a tennis net. Off the court, they are the best of friends. My own younger sister can't wait to tell me when I've put on weight. However, she's a terrible cook and that pleases me; I tease her when she es to dinner. Happily, despite these small failings, we have been an important resource for each other. In between the very petitive and the generally supportive children lie those who say that no friendship should survive. Some brothers and sisters stay at arm's length, hut never give up petition pletely. Why do these puzzling, unproductive, often painful relationships continue to exist?32. When Joan's son was born, Sally .A. felt very happyB. felt not delightedC. moved awayD. admired her a lot33. What happens to children's desire to pete with their brothers and sisters?A. It sometimes will disappear when they grow up.B. It will never disappear throughout life.C. It will improve their relationships when they grow up.D. It will never harm their relationships when they grow up.34. Why does the author's sister often tell her when she's put on weight?A. Because she wants the author to go on a diet.B. Because she wants the author to stop calling her a bad cook.C. Because she wants to make fun of the author's weight.D. Because she wants to be honest with the author.35. The underlined sentence means that although some brothers and sisters .A. live near each other, they still have petitionsB. live away from each other, they stop their petitionsC. live together, they often think of ending their petitionsD. live within a big family, they often try to end their petitions第二节根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。

A⊥BC,PC⊥AB,∴点P为△ABC的垂心,∴D选项正确.故选:ABD.【点评】本题考查平面向量数量积的定义与性质,函数思想,三角形外心的性质,正切函数的图象性质,三角形垂心的概念,属中档题.(多选)11.已知数列{a n}的前n项和为S n,a1=1,S n+1=S n+2a n+1,数列的前n项和为T n,n∈N*,则下列选项正确的是()A.数列{a n+1}是等比数列B.数列{a n+1}是等差数列C.数列{a n}的通项公式为D.T n>1【分析】由a n+1=S n+1﹣S n=2a n+1可得,,可判断A,B的正误,再求出a n,可判断C的正误,利用裂项相消法求T n,可判断D的正误.【解答】解:因为S n+1=S n+2a n+1,所以a n+1=S n+1﹣S n=2a n+1,a n+1+1=2a n+2,即,且a1+1=2,所以数列{a n+1}是首项为2,公比为2的等比数列,故A正确,B错误;所以,即,故C正确;因为,所以,故D错误;故选:AC.【点评】本题考查了等比数列的判断和裂项相消求和,属于中档题.(多选)12.如图,抛物线C:y2=4x的焦点为F,过点F的直线与抛物线C交于M,N 两点,过点M,N分别作准线l的垂线,垂足分别为M1,N1,准线l与x轴的交点为F1,则()A.直线F1N与抛物线C必相切B.C.|F1M|•|F1N|=|F1F|•|MN|D.|FM1|•|FN1|=|FF1F|•|M1N1|【分析】选项A,联列方程,整理成y的一元二次方程,用判别式判定是否恒为零即可;选项B,由•=4m2≥0知,选项B正确;选项C,计算得|F1F||MN|=8m2+8,|F1M||F1N|=4m2+8,两式不恒等,故C不正确;选项D,先计算•,从而得⊥,由等面积法知选项D正确.【解答】解:由已知F(1,0),F1(﹣1,0),设过点F的直线方程为:x=my+1,设点M(my1+1,y1),N(my2+1,y2),则M1(﹣1,y1),N1(﹣1,y2),F1(﹣1,0),由,得y2﹣4my﹣4=0,所以y1+y2=4m,y1y2=﹣4,选项A:直线F1N的方程为y=(x+1),联立方程组得:,所以y2﹣4[(m+)y﹣1]=0,Δ=16(m+)2﹣16不恒为零,故选项A不正确;选项B:由题得=(my1+2,y1),=(my2+2,y2),而•=m2y1y2+2m(y1+y2)+4+y1y2=4m2≥0,所以cos<•>=≥0,所以∠MF1N≤,故B正确;选项C:|F1F|=2,|MN|=|x1+x2+2|=|m(y1+y2)+4|=4m2+4,所以|F1F||MN|=8m2+8;|F1M|2=(my1+2)2+y12,|F1N|2=(my2+2)2+y22,所以|F1M|2•|F1N|2=[(my1+2)(my2+2)]2+y22(my1+2)2+y12(my2+2)2+y12y22=(4m2+4)2﹣32m2+64m2+48=16(m2+2)2,所以|F1M||F1N|=4(m2+2)=4m2+8,所以选项C不正确;选项D:∵=(﹣2,y1),=(﹣2.y2),∴•=4+y1y2=4﹣4=0,∴⊥,在△M1FN1中,S=|M1N1|•|F1F|=|FM1||FN1|,故D正确.故选:BD.【点评】本题考查抛物线的应用,属于中档题.三.填空题(共4小题)13.已知数列{a n}满足a1=a5=0,|a n+1﹣a n|=2,则{a n}前5项和的最大值为8.【分析】由题意,分类讨论,求出数列的前5项,从而得出结论.【解答】解:已知数列{a n}满足a1=a5=0,|a n+1﹣a n|=2,则{a n}前5项分别为0,﹣2,0,﹣2,0;或0,﹣2,﹣4,﹣2,0;或0,2,0,2,0;或0,2,4,2,0;故当{a n}前5项分别为0,2,4,2,0 时,前5项的和最大,为0+2+4+2+0=8,故答案为:8.【点评】本题主要考查等差数列的定义,数列求和,属于基础题.14.《九章算术》中的“商功“篇主要讲述了以立体几何为主的各种形体体积的计算,其中堑堵是指底面为直角三角形的直棱柱.如图,在堑堵ABC﹣A1B1C1中,M是A1C1的中点,AB=2AA1=2AC,,,若,则x+y+z=.【分析】根据已知条件,结合空间向量的线性运算,即可求解.【解答】解:由图可知:,又因为,所以,所以,所以,所以,.故答案为:.【点评】本题主要考查空间向量的线性运算,属于基础题.15.已知函数f(x)=在区间(a,a+)上存在极值,则实数a的取值范围是(,1).【分析】求函数f(x)的导数,利用f′(x)=0求出极值点,再结合题意列出不等式求解集即可.【解答】解:因为函数f(x)=,x>0,所以f′(x)=﹣,令f′(x)=0,解得x=1,当f′(x)>0,即0<x<1,函数单调递增,当f′(x)<0,即x>1,函数单调递减,所以1是函数的极值点,又因为函数f(x)在区间(a,a+)(a>0)上存在极值,所以a<1<a+,解得<a<1,所以实数a的取值范围是(,1).故答案为:(,1).【点评】本题主要考查了利用导数研究函数的单调性和极值的应用问题,也考查了运算求解能力,是中档题.16.过抛物线y2=2px(p>0)焦点F的直线与抛物线的交于点A,B,O是坐标原点,且满足,S△AOB=,则p=()A.2B.C.4D.【分析】过A,B作抛物线准线的垂线,垂足分别为C,D,由AB=3FB,丨AC丨=2丨BD丨,求得丨BE丨,可得直线AB的方程,与抛物线联立方程,表示|AB|的长,进而可表示三角形的面积,根据面积求得p的值【解答】解:不妨设直线AB的斜率k>0,过A,B作抛物线准线的垂线,垂足分别为C,D,过B作BE⊥AC于E,由AB=3FB,∴=2,丨丨=2丨丨,即丨AC丨=2丨BD丨,∴E为AC的中点,即丨AE丨=丨AB丨,∴丨BE丨==丨AB丨,由S△OAB=S OAF+S OBF=丨BE丨•丨OF丨=p丨AB丨,S△OAB=丨AB丨,∴由丨AE丨=丨AB丨,则直线AB斜率为k AB=±2,直线AB的方程y=2(x ﹣1),,整理得:8x2﹣10px﹣8p2=0,则x1+x2=,则丨AB丨=x1+x2+p=+p,∴S△OAB=(+p),∴(+p)=,解得p=2.【点评】本题考查抛物线的标准方程,直线与抛物线的位置关系,考查韦达定理,抛物线的焦点弦公式,考查计算能力,属中档题.。

高三第七次英语周测AWe bought a pair of geese one spring when they were both two weeks old.One was a female Chinese goose I named Su and her mate was a white goose I named Goose. They would follow us all around the yard talking to us whenever we came outside. At night, they stayed in a box in our kitchen until they were too big and then they stayed at night outside. They loved the river and soon began staying out all night on the river.Whenever I wanted to know where they were, I would make a honking noise (雁叫声), and they would answer me and come into the yard for their corn. One night, I was woken up by loud noise. We ran out to see what was wrong.A raccoon (浣熊)had decided that some goose eggs would taste good and had come too close to the setting. When we found Su, the raccoon had caught her by her neck and was biting it.We drove it away and took Su to the garage, washed her wound and wrapped it up in a bandage.Goose knew she was there and wanted to be with her, so we opened the small garage door and he hurried in.After two days and nights, I released them back outside. For the first three nights at dusk, we would get her and carry her into the garage for the night and Goose would come running behind us to join her there. We were touched by his devotion to her.We took off her bandage and she was fine so that next night, we had not planned to take her to the garage any longer. We were amazed, however, that when dusk fell that night, she climbed the back steps to our garage door waiting for us to come and get her in! They do not speak our language, but they know when people care about them and love them and they respond in kind.1.The first paragraph mainly tells us that .A.geese mainly feed on corn and fish B.the geese were taken good care ofC.the geese got on badly with the writer D.geese prefer to stay outside than inside 2.The raccoon attacked Su one night because .A.it thought goose eggs were delicious B.Su's nest was too close to the raccoon's C.it wanted to hunt the goose for food D.Su's appearance in the area annoyed it 3.Where would Su probably stay at night after her recovery?A.In the wild.B.In the kitchen.C.On the river.D.In the garage.4.It can be inferred from the last sentence that .A.animals misunderstand people B.the needs of pets is importantC.animals are of human nature D.animals need people' protectionBHave you ever gone to work to find that one of your coworkers is coughing and sneezing all day long? You do your best to keep a safe distance and wonder: Why did he or she come to work when they were ill? The reality for many Americans is that they do not have enough paid sick time each year to afford them the luxury of staying home because they don’t feel well. This problem doesn’t just affect the working employees who are sick, though. In an article by James Warren for Bloomberg Business Week, a second-grade school teacher, Stilli Klikizos shares about the sick children that must stay in school all day long because their parents can’t get offwork to come and get them. In the past school year, she had several children who were unable to be picked up at school who were later diagnosed with H1N1.There is a movement called the Healthy Families Act in Congress that would change this situation for many Americans. The Healthy Family Act would require employers with 15 or more employees to provide 7 paid sick days a year for their workers. These days could be used not only for days when the worker is sick, but the time can also be used when caring for others, or going to routine doctor’s appointments. Those who are against the Act argue that many businesses are struggling to make ends meet owing to recession (经济衰退), and point out that this is the wrong time to force employers to add an additional expense. Those who support the Healthy Families Act say that our nation can’t afford to not take these measures. When an individual goes to work sick, they are possibly infecting their coworkers, clients and customers.According to a report by Katie Couric on the CBS evening news, three fourths of low wage earners get docked(扣工资) when they are sick. Those individuals include daycare workers and restaurant workers, whose health can affect the health of many.5. Why do many Americans still come to work when they are sick?A. They often ignore the illness if not serious.B. They work in high spirits.C. The cost of staying home is great.D. The cost of medical treatment is high.6. In the article mentioned in this passage, James Warren intends to say ______.A. children need more thoughtful and considerate careB. teachers are responsible for taking good care of children at schoolC. parents shouldn’t leave the sick children at schoolD. adults’ not having enough paid sick time may be bad for children7. According to the Healthy Families Act, ______.A. all the employers are required to provide 7 paid sick days a year for their workersB. the employees can use the paid sick days to take care of their sick childrenC. the employees could demand their companies pay for their medical billsD. the employees can use the paid sick days to take a trip so as to relax themselves.8. Why are some people against the Healthy Families Act?A. Many companies’ financial situations are not so good due to the recession.B. Companies have no such duty to provide paid sick time.C. The nation can’t afford to do as the Act requires.D. Usually one’s illness won’t infect his coworkers and customers.CIf it is not only possible but even easy to predict which ten-year-old boys are at greatest risk of growing up to be persistent offenders (惯犯), what are we doing with the information? The last thing that we should do is to wait until their troubles have increased in adolescence and then attack them with the new Criminal Justice Bill.If this bill becomes law, more young people will be drawn into prisons and all the evidence shows that this worsens rather than improves their future. The introduction of short sharppunishment will simply give more young people a taste of something else they don’t need and if you want to train someone to be anti-society, "I can’t think of a better way to do it" says the writer of this report. The Cambridge Institute of Criminology comes up with five key factors that are likely to make for adolescence crimes: a low income family, a large family, parents regarded by social workers to be bad at raising children, parents who themselves have a criminal record, and low intelligence in the childhood. Of the 63 boys in the sample who had at least three of them when they were ten, half became criminals—compared with only a fifth of the sample as a whole.Three more factors make the prediction more accurate: being judged troublesome by teachers at the age of ten, having a father with at least two criminal records and having another member of the family with a criminal record. Of the 35 men who had at least two of these factors in their background, 18 became persistent offenders and 8 more were in trouble with the law.The role of the schools is recognized as extremely important. The most reliable prediction of all on the futur es of boys came from teachers’ ratings of how troublesome they were at the age of ten. If the information is there in the classroom, there must be a response that brings more attention to those troublesome children: a search for things to give them praise rather than academic achievement, a refusal to allow them to go on playing truant(旷课), and a promoting of ambition and opportunity which should start early in their school careers.9. According to the author, adolescence crimes should be dealt with ______.A. before they become adolescentsB. when they are put into prisonC. when they are in the period of adolescenceD. when the problem becomes serious10. The number of young offenders could be reduced by the way of ______.A. setting new legal systemB. helping with their academic performanceC. applying brief periods of severe punishmentD. knowing about their backgrounds11. Ten-year-old children likely to become offenders are usually______.A. spoilt children from small familiesB. bright children in a poor familyC. slow children with many brothers and sistersD. children whose parents gain wealth dishonestly12. The writer concludes that potential offenders could be helped by ______.A. making less trouble through self disciplineB. being given more encouragement at schoolC. being permitted to leave school as they likeD. stricter treatment from teachersDPsychologists have discovered that even the most independent-minded of us will conform to social pressure when we are with a group of people. In one classic experiment, people were shown a vertical(垂直的)line and asked to find a line of identical(完全相同的)length from aselection of three. You might think that this is an absurdly easy task, and when people perform it by themselves they do very well. However, psychologists have discovered that we are very easily affected by the opinions of other people when we do this task in a group. In one study, a group of three people was set up, where two of the people were confederates(同伙)of the experimenter. When the confederates deliberately gave wrong answers, people were often affected to give the wrong answer also. In fact, 75% of people gave at least one wrong answer, with some people conforming to peer pressure on every occasion. But why do people conform in this way? In an easy task like this, it seems that people do not want to step out of line with the dominant opinion of the group. On more difficult tasks, people also conform because they lose confidence in their own ability to make decisions and prefer to trust the majority opinion instead.A typical example of this kind of conformity arises when we come across people in distres s (危难). Would you help a woman who has been attacked in the street? It turns out that you are much more likely to go to her assistance if you are alone. When other people are also around, People tend to take no action, because everyone assumes that someone else will go to the woman's assistance.13.In Paragraph 1, the underlined word “conform” probably means “”.A.seek independence B.disobey ordersC.follow what others do D.seek pleasure14.What is the purpose of the experiment described in Paragraph 2?A.To explain why would people be influenced by the opinions of others.B.To prove that people are easily influenced by the opinions of others.C.To train the confederates of the experimenter as independent minded.D.To describe how people would be influenced by the opinions of others.15.In the last paragraph, accoriding to the author, why wouldn’t one help the woman?A.He thinks he has no responsibilities to give a hand.B.He thinks he has nothing to do with it.C.He is too shy to give his helping hand.D.He thinks someone else will offer assistance.16.What method does the author mainly use to develop the text?A.Giving examples.
