When I was a boy I was always told , “ Peter , the more you know , the further you go .” So I stayed in school until I graduated from college and then went forth into the world , holding firmly the idea and my new teaching certificate （证书）. During the first year of teaching , I was upset to find that a number of teachers , school principals and superintendents（负责人）appeared to know nothing about their professional responsibilities and incompetent（无能的）in carrying out their dutie s .
