执有融入型动机的学习者学习外语时能体会到乐趣,不觉枯燥厌烦,更易于掌握外语。

和工具型动机(instrumental motivation),是指学习者希望通过学习外语达到自己的目标,带有更多的功利性、实用性目的。

另一对经典的概念是“内在动机”和“外在动机”,这两个维度一般被认为是对应的,即融合性动机是内在动机,工具性动机是外在动机( Chambers,1999: 52)。

20世纪90年代后期,从心理学领域引入了更多的动机因素,扩大了动机视角。

概括说来,心理学和应用语言学界已确认的主要动机因素有几大类:认知需要和情感需要、期望值和效价、目标定向、结果归因、学习目的、自信心和努力程度等(秦晓晴,文秋芳,2002)。

(二)中国大学生外语学习动机因素组成根据前人的研究,我国大学生英语学习动机偏重工具型,这与社会和学校对考试合格证书的盲目强调有关,使得很多学生把通过考试,获得证书作为英语学习的最终目的,工具型动机的激励显得尤为明显。

公元前47年,puntus之战,尤里乌斯凯撒大帝战胜Puntus之王Pharnce二世。

凯撒向罗马议会发回三个拉丁单词:“Veni, Vidi, Vici”(出自古罗马历史学家普鲁塔克为凯撒大帝所作传记),翻译为 I came, I saw, I conquered,成为千古不朽名言。

简短三句话,六个单词,帝王霸气呼啸盘旋于耳边。

每念及此段历史,总情不自禁联想到我们青岛新航道的拖鞋(托福童鞋)和烤鸭(雅思考生)们。

大家都是I came, I saw, 结局却不尽相同,有人霸气外露,果断conquered,有人消极备战,终被conquered。

过往路人不妨跟着我这个托福阅读老师一块看看青岛新航道围城里面的来往征战,看看拖鞋与烤鸭们的I came, I saw, I conquered.
I came. 同学们came的方式五花八门。

有人是被父母提溜来的。

父母一副恨铁不成钢的表情,火爆脾气老师都发怵,“老师!!你看这孩子中用不中用???能考多少分????”学生倒是淡定,皮惯了。

这样的孩纸多数聪明,但不好学,这样的孩子他这样came了。

有人大踏步成竹在胸气势汹汹而来,“老师,年底考到100要怎么学??”直奔主题,目标明确,最听话,小宇宙爆发力强,持久力也强。

也有人抱着试试看的态度一步三回头地进来,出国乎?不出国乎?高考否?不高考否?干脆两手准备吧。

这厢准备高考,那厢准备托福雅思;或者有个备用方案,大不了我先申个一般学校,六七十分就可以的,出去了再说!无所谓~~~(杨坤版)这样的学生也I came了。

来了,便接触到托福雅思的方方面面了,所谓I saw。

各种挑战缤纷乱人眼。

以托福阅读为例。

先储备8000词汇;再有百儿八十篇的英文阅读量;再要有十个阅读题型的做题技巧。

有人战资储备充足,本身已是八千八级词汇;有人也可以,六千六级词汇;有人弱点,四千至五千四级词汇;有人便是小日本般国小资源少只有两千词汇需要先背高中三千五百词了。

I conquered. 需要一种霸气。

不言路途艰险,只为一战。

I conquered的同学在征途中就透着一种霸气。

有些是那出身卑微的“英语穷矮搓“,不差金不差银就差英语不入门。

他们也可以霸气。

像咱去年的一个同学,十分一台阶,二十分一跳越,步步为营,连跳三级,不可谓不霸气。

还有那啃书一族,各种红宝书绿宝书背了五遍八遍十遍考试出来声称没一个单词不是认识的,去认识认识他们吧,他们的表情就是两千年前凯撒大帝的表情,名叫 I conquered.
历史只记得英雄。

被conquered咱就不提了。
