1Dear Mrs.Sharp and all my teachers and friends,I have already been back to China for two weeks. Now I'm working hard to catch up my classmates in Math and Chinese. There are many difference between my Chinese school and Sul Ross Elementary. I just needed 15 to 20 minutes to finish my homework in USA, but in China I need at least 1 to 2 hours to finish my homework.I really miss America because USA has fresh air and lots of green trees. I turely love all of my teachers and my classmates in Sul Ross. I can always remember the first time when I won our spelling bee for I jumped out of my chair. I will never forget I played tag at the playground with my friends. I also miss my drum group and Mrs.Wright. There were many happiness and surprises in Sul Ross school for me everyday. I miss you Mrs Sharp and classmates, Mrs. Sims, Ms.Strunk, Miss Cox, Ms.Jacks and Mrs. V. Everyone is being so nice to me.I will keep learning English by reading more books, listening stories and writing. I hope one day I can go to USA and see you again! 2Dear Live Oak classmates,How are you all? How time flies! It has been 8 months since I came back to China. Every time I look up at the photograph ofour grade that was taken by Brittany’s mother and bears the signature of every one of you (this picture is now hanging up on the wall above our dining table), I cannot help thinking of you and the happy time we spent together. I do miss you often.I am doing fine here in China and I like my present school life as much as I liked Live Oak. My classmates and teachers are very good to me, too. I have already caught up with my classmates in all the school lessons. Thanks to the Live Oak school education, I am now far ahead of my classmates in English, and I’m still doing a lot of English reading to keep up my English. In the beginning of this semester, I was chosen to attend the School Robotics T eam to practice for the robotics competition on behalf of my school. It’s a really big privilege, and I like it very much, because in my school there are one thousand and four hundred students and there are only four chosen. In the robotics practice, I learn to cooperate with my teammates and I need the big financial support from the school, because one single robot costs 50 thousand yuan. So it’s not a project that one person could do. We need to have team spirit as what we did in our Live Oak football game. On August 8, our school attended the national robot competition held in Xining, Qinghai, witch is neighboring Tibet. After two days’ competition, our team got a silver medal. During one of the days when we had no game, we went to the famous Qinghai Lake. It was so beautiful. It looked like an ocean because it was so large. Its water had many colors, blue, green, and purple, due to the ultraviolet rays.I don’t go to church on Sundays in China, but I read the Bible with my mom every night. If we have time, we sing hymns too. God listens to my prayers. We have just bought a car. When our car was just two days old, my dad had parked the car just onecentimeter away from the car next to ours. We were so worried that our new car would be scratched if the other car moved. In the evening, I prayed to God asking God to save our car. The next morning, we found our car in the parking lot safe and sound. And we were so thankful to God.Although I have so much fun in China, I still miss the time I had in the U.S. Mrs. Moffat, thank you for letting me study in Live Oak, so that I have such a wonderful experience in my life. Mrs. Moore, I can still remember the big hug that you gave me the first time I visited Live Oak. How is Andrew doing? Has he passed all his surgeries? Some days ago, I have visited “Andrew’s Update” but I haven’t seen any updates. I hope that he is feeling better. Mrs. Brummeler, thank you for your patient help with my English in the first month when the new school life was tough for me and I could only understand a little bit of what was going on in class. Knox, thank you for being my first friend to offer help to me in class and letting me copy everything from your notes, including some small errors sometimes J. Hudson, how are you doing in your sports? I believe you are still the leader of the Live Oak Falcons. Joel, I miss the time that we were sharing grapes together at lunch time and we called that “Jump Grapes”. Andrew, hope you are still going to be the King at this year’s Christmas Nativity. And if you do, I hope you will have a good royal robe that you like. Ethan and Jordan, I will never forget that fabulous birthday party we boys had in the forest. Ethan, I thank you for the beautiful football that your cousin gave me. I have displayed it on the top of my bookshelf. Jordan, I am still keeping the two- dollar note that you gave me and it serves as my bookmark. Joshua, I thank you and your mom for taking me to school every day. I enjoyed the time when we were playingtogether. l wish we would be still playing ping-pong and pool together in that game room. Will, I remember that we had a fun time together when Mrs. Browning took us all together in her van to Jordan and Ethan’s birthday party. Luke, I miss the time when we were playing World War Ⅱ together at yo ur house. I also remember the time when we were playing basketball together in the Baylor SLC and my mom said that you are a very nice and polite boy. Keegan, my mom had given her email address to your mom. If you ever come to China, please do come to Xiamen and visit me. Jerome, I really miss the time when we were playing tag in the playground. Caleb, I still remember that in recess time, you were always doing your Latin homework with Thomas as your “tutor” hanging on the “Monkey Bar” in the playground.Dear girls, incase this letter would be too long, I’m not going to write to each of you. But do remember, I miss you as much as I miss the guys.Hope all of you are doing well in your fifth grade life. I wish all of you can come to China someday in the near future. I look forward to being your host and showing you around my beautiful city.I’d love to hear from you about anything fun in your life and our Live Oak Classical School. 3Dear Mike,How is everyting going ?I'd like to show you two photos of our family. They were took in this spring. When our families went out to enjoy ourselves. In spring, the weather is nice. Do you think so?Look! The first one ,we went out on a picnic on the beach. My mother and father were taking care of my younger sister.I was watching the beautiful scene at the sea and drinking. The second one ,when we finished,it was rain heavily ,we came back in a hurry.we were going home with a piece of cloth in this picture. We had a good time !I'd like you enjoy them !Yours,Liming给外国同学的一封信4外国同学:你们好!

1Dear Martha,How are you? I'm writing to tell you all about this super cool university that my big brother James just got accepted to! It's called Harvard University and it's in a place called Cambridge, Massachusetts. I've never been there myself, but James has told me so much about it that I feel like I know the place already!Harvard is one of the best universities in the whole world. Can you believe that? The WHOLE world! It was founded way back in 1636, which makes it really really old. Like, older than America itself! James says the buildings on campus look like they're from the medieval times, with big stone walls and pointy roofs and everything. I'd love to see it for myself one day.But it's not just the buildings that make Harvard so amazing. They have some of the smartest professors and students on the planet. My brother had to work incredibly hard just to get accepted there. He studied day and night for the admission tests and wrote dozens of essays. Even with his perfect grades, it wasstill really difficult to get in because Harvard only accepts the best of the best students.Once you're a student at Harvard, the learning never stops. James tells me the classes are incredibly challenging. The professors just keep piling on more and more work – readings, papers, lab reports, you name it! He says the students are always sleep-deprived from staying up late studying and working on assignments. It sounds kind of miserable if you ask me, but James seems to think it's worth it.I guess that's because a Harvard education can open up so many doors for your future career. Graduates from Harvard go on to become leaders in every field you can imagine – business, politics, science, entertainment, you name it. The university has produced multiple US presidents, billionaires, Nobel Prize winners, and even astronauts! With a Harvard degree, James could literally do anything he wants with his life. But it's not just about academics at Harvard. The university also has a beautiful campus with lots of fun things for students to do. There are impressive libraries, modern athletic facilities, tasty dining halls, and even museums right on campus! James says they have clubs and organizations for every possible interest too. He's already joined the crew team and is looking forward to rowing on the Charles River. One of the coolest things about Harvard is the residential house system. Instead of boring dorms, students live in these huge houses named after important people. James will be living in Currier House along with hundreds of other students. Each house has its own dining hall, libraries, common rooms, and administrative staff. It's basically like having a bunch ofmini-communities within the larger university! I'm a little jealous that I'll never get to experience dorm life like that.Of course, going to a prestigious school like Harvard doesn't come cheap. The tuition fees are absolutely insane – we're talking upwards of 50,000 per year! That's more money than what my parents make in a whole year. Thankfully, James earned a huge scholarship that will cover most of the costs. He'll still probably need to take out some student loans, but it should be manageable.I really wish I could visit Harvard myself and see James on campus. From everything he's described, it sounds like such a vibrant and exciting place to spend your college years. Of course, the workload seems incredibly intense too. I don't know if I could handle that kind of academic pressure! That's why I'm in suchawe of my big brother for getting into an elite school like Harvard. He's _worked so hard to get to this point and I'm super proud of him.Well, that's pretty much all I know about Harvard so far! I'm sure once James actually starts his classes in the fall, he'll have even more stories to share. I'll make sure to pass along any fun details orinteresting facts about the university. Harvard just sounds like such an amazing place - I really hope you get the chance to visit it someday too! Let me know if you have any other questions.Your friend,Michael篇2Dear Frankie,How are you doing? I'm writing to you from my hometown in China. School just started again and I'm in 5th grade now! My summer vacation was super fun - I went camping with my family, had sleepovers with friends, and even took a short trip to the beach. But now it's back to schoolwork and homework. Ugh!Anyway, you asked me to recommend a good university for you to apply to in a few years when you graduate high school. I've been giving this a lot of thought. You know I want to be an author and write books when I grow up. So I've been very interested in universities with strong writing and literature programs. After doing some research, I think you should definitely apply to Oxford University in England!Oxford is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the whole world. It was established way back in 1096 - can you believe that? Over 900 years ago! The campus is made up of 38 colleges and the buildings are absolutely gorgeous. I've seen pictures and it looks like a real-life Hogwarts from Harry Potter with its ancient libraries, cobblestone streets, and gothic architecture. How cool would it be to study at a place that looks like that? But Oxford isn't just pretty buildings. It's considered one of the best universities for lots of subjects, including English literature and language. Some of the most famous writers in history like C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Oscar Wilde, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and even William Shakespeare attended or taught at Oxford! Can you imagine walking the same halls and grounds asthose legendary authors? Maybe some of their creative genius would rub off on you!The English program at Oxford is second to none. They have dedicated faculty who are experts on everything from Chaucer to Shakespeare to modern American literature. As an English major, you'd be able to take classes on novels, poetry, plays, creative writing, and literary theory and criticism. You'd get to read and analyze works by the greatest writers of all time. And with lots of small group tutorials and one-on-one time with professors, you'd get incredibly personalized teaching.Outside of academics, Oxford also has over 200 different clubs and societies you could join. There's something for every interest - from sports teams to music groups to theater troupes and beyond. I know you're really into chess, so you could potentially join the Oxford University Chess Club. How fun would that be?Oxford students also have a very vibrant social life. Between fancy formal halls, quirky traditions like wearing gowns to classes, and historic pubs around town, there's no shortage of ways to make friends and get involved. You could even try out for one of Oxford's competitive sports teams like rowing or cricket. Just don't get too distracted from your studies!I know attending a university like Oxford is incredibly difficult with very low acceptance rates. But you're such a talented writer already and I have no doubt your grades and test scores will be amazing. If you work really hard, get great recommendations from teachers, and write a stellar personal statement, I truly believe you could get in. It would be worth the effort to have the chance to study at one of the best schools for writers and literature lovers in the entire world. Just imagine - you could be the next great novelist to come out of Oxford!Of course, this is just my opinion as a 5th grader who dreams of being an author someday. There are plenty of other excellent universities out there too. But I think the history, prestige, and literature program at Oxford would be an absolute perfect fit for you and your writing ambitions. Let me know what you think! I'm already looking forward to the day I can brag to everyone that my best friend is a world-famous author who attended Oxford.Your friend,[Your name]篇3Dear Jessica,How are you? I'm so excited to write to you about a really cool university I learned about in class the other day. It's called the University of Edinburgh in Scotland! My teacher told us all about it and showed us pictures, and I thought you might want to go there when you're older since you love traveling and learning about different cultures. The University of Edinburgh is super old - it was founded way back in 1583! Can you believe universities have been around that long? It's located right in the middle of Edinburgh, which is the capital city of Scotland. Edinburgh looks like a magical place with cobblestone streets, ancient castles, and even extinct volcanoes! How awesome would it be to go to school in a city like that? One of the best things about the University of Edinburgh is how pretty the campus is. The main building looks like something out of a Harry Potter movie with its huge spires and gargoyle statues. It's called the Old College and it was built in the 1600s using stone carved from an extinct volcano! There are also tons of green spaces within the campus where students can study or just hang out. I saw pictures of this garden area called the Meadows - it looks like a scene from Alice in Wonderland with the colorful flower beds and giant trees. But the University doesn't just have old, historical buildings. They've got modern facilities too like libraries, labs, and even an indoor climbing wall! The Students' Association building has restaurants, bars, and constantly hosts events like comedy shows and concerts. So it's the perfect mix of old and new. My teacher said the mix of traditional architecture and cutting-edge facilities is one of the things that makes the University so unique.Another amazing thing is how many different subjects you can study there. The University has colleges for pretty much every area of study you can think of - arts, sciences, medicine, engineering, and more! No matter what you're interested in learning, they've got it covered. And the professors must be really smart because Edinburgh is ranked as one of the best universities in the entire world for academics and research.I think one of the coolest opportunities would be studying abroad. The University has partnerships with over 280 universities across 40 different countries! That means as a student, you could take classes and live in places like Singapore, Brazil, the United States, Germany, Australia, or loads of other fascinating places. Just imagine how much you'd learn traveling the globe while also taking classes. What an incredible experience!Student life seems unbelievably fun too. There are over 290 societies and clubs you can join based on your hobbies and interests. I saw pictures of groups like the Harry Potter Society (yesss!), technology clubs, theater troupes, sports teams for everything from hockey to kickboxing, charity organizations, and even a Baking Society! With that many options, you're bound to find your tribe. And if you join a club or sports team, you can compete against other universities in Britain which is a centuries-old tradition there. There are huge rivalries and everyone gets really spirited, wearing their university colors and face paint. It seems like such an exciting way to come together as a community and show your school pride. But probably the best part about Edinburgh for you is the incredible opportunity for outdoor adventures right in the city. Edinburgh is right next to the sea as well as gorgeous Highland hills and lochs (which are lakes). You could go hiking, rock climbing, sailing, camping - so many options for your favorite outdoorsy activities! My teacher showed us pictures of students kayaking on a loch surrounded by rolling green mountains. It looked like a scene straight out of a Lord of the Rings movie! With its rich history, beautiful campus, excellent academics, fun traditions, and endless adventuring options, I think the University of Edinburgh would be such an incredible place for you to spend your college years. You'd get a world-class education while being immersed in Scottish culture and gaining independence by living abroad. Just promise you'll take tons of pictures to make me jealous!Well, that's my lengthy recommendation. Let me know if you have any other questions! I'll be counting down the years until I'm old enough to apply to awesome universities like that one.Talk to you soon!Your friend,[Your name]。

Dear International Student,As you embark on your academic journey in a foreign land, I write this letter to share my experiences and offer some insights that I hope will be valuable to you.Firstly, I want to congratulate you on your decision to pursue higher education abroad. This is a remarkable and courageous step, one that will undoubtedly challenge you in ways you may not have anticipated. However, I can assure you that the rewards of this experience will far outweigh the difficulties you may face. One of the most significant adjustments you will need to make is navigating a new cultural landscape. The customs, social norms, and even the way of communicating may be vastly different from what you are accustomed to. This can be both exciting and daunting, but I encourage you to embrace the opportunity to learn and grow. Immerse yourself in the local culture, try new foods, and engage with your peers from diverse backgrounds. This cross-cultural exchange will not only broaden your perspectives but also help you develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the world around you.Language proficiency is another critical aspect of your international education. If English is not your native language, you may face challenges in comprehending lectures, participating in discussions, and expressing your ideas effectively. My advice to you is to be patient with yourself and not be afraid to make mistakes. Language learning is a gradual process, and the more you practice, the more confident and fluent you will become. Seek out opportunities to converse with native speakers, whether it's in the classroom, campus events, or casual conversations. Additionally, consider taking language classes or utilizing language learning resources to enhance your skills.Academically, you may find that the educational system in your host country differs significantly from what you are used to. The teaching styles, grading criteria, and expectations for assignments and exams may be unfamiliar. It is essential that you familiarize yourself with the academic requirements and norms early on. Attend orientation sessions, speak with your professors or academic advisors, and don't hesitate to ask questions if you are unsure about anything. Develop effective study habits and time management strategies to ensure that you can manage your workload and excel in your studies.Beyond the academic realm, it is crucial that you take care of your overall well-being. The stress of adjusting to a new environment, coupled with the demands of your studies, can be overwhelming. Make sure to prioritize self-care by getting enough sleep, maintaining a balanced diet, and engaging in regular physical activity. Additionally, seek out support services on campus, such as counseling or mental health resources, if you ever feel the need to talk to someone.Remember, you are not alone in this journey. Reach out to your fellow international students, who may be experiencing similar challenges. Form study groups, participate in student organizations, or simply spend time together. The camaraderie and support of a community can be invaluable in helping you navigate the ups and downs of your international education. In closing, I want to encourage you to embrace this opportunity with an open mind and a willingness to learn. The challenges you face will not only shape your academic growth but also contribute to your personal development. Stay resilient, be adaptable, and never hesitate to ask for help when you need it. I have no doubt that the experiences you gain during your time abroad will be transformative and will continue to impact your life long after you have returned home.Wishing you all the best in your academic and personal pursuits. May your international education be a truly enriching and rewardingexperience.Sincerely, [Your Name]。

300 Dear Mr. Churchill,Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I'm writing to you because my teacher Mrs. Roberts assigned us a very cool project - we had to pick a famous person from history and write them a letter. I picked you because you seem like such an interesting guy!I've been learning all about you in my history lessons. You were the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during World War 2, which must have been a really tough job. My teacher said you had to make a lot of hard decisions to try to stop the evil Nazi Germans from taking over the world. I can't even imagine how stressful that must have been!I read that you grew up in a big fancy house called Blenheim Palace. That sounds like a dream to me! The house I live in is pretty small and my brother and I have to share a bedroom. I bet you had your own huge room and lots of cool toys and books. Although I guess kids back then didn't have video games or streaming movies like we do today. You probably had to make your own fun a lot of the time. What kind of games and activities did you like to do as a kid?My teacher told us you were a great speaker and writer, even from a young age. I have to admit, public speaking is not really my strong suit. Just last week I had to get up in front of the class to present my science fair project and I was shaking like a leaf! I get so nervous with all those eyeballs staring at me. How did you get over your nerves to be able to speak so confidently in front of crowds? I could definitely use some pointers.I also heard you loved to paint and were actually a pretty good artist. That's really cool! I like drawing and coloring, but I'm not very good at making things look realistic. I pretty much just scribble abstract designs. Do you have any tips for an aspiring young artist? What kind of things did you like to paint or draw when you were a kid?Another thing I found fascinating is that you were actually born in a room at Blenheim Palace...while your family was visiting! Could you imagine being born in a huge palace? The craziest place I've ever been was the hospital room where I was born. Although I do have a friend who was born in his parents' car on the way to the hospital. Now that would be an interesting birth story to tell!I have to say, when we started learning about World War 2, I was pretty scared by some of the things the Nazi Germans did.The Holocaust was just so sad and cruel. Millions of innocent people died just because they were Jewish or from a certain group. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about all that senseless hatred and killing. How did you find the courage and strength to stand up against that evil? I don't know if I could have done it.My teacher told us about some of the amazing speeches you gave to rally the British people and give them hope during the darkest hours of the war. If I'm being honest, I didn't totally understand all the big words and historical references you used. But I could still feel how powerful and motivating your words were. You must have been such an inspiration to people who were scared and feeling hopeless.I can't even imagine how you felt when the war finally ended in 1945 and peace returned to Europe. All that fighting, all those years of tough decisions and sacrifice - it must have been the biggest relief in the world. Did you just want to kick back and relax for a while after that? Maybe smoke a nice cigar and take a long vacation? You definitely earned it!Well, I think I've rambled on long enough for now. Thank you so much for everything you did to save the world from fascism, Mr. Churchill. We are all forever grateful heroes like youwere around to protect freedom and democracy. I'll leave you with one last question: if you could go back and give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be? Food for thought from one of the greatest leaders in modern history.Your friend,Timmy。

UEA
